The sound of Barby is a force to be reckoned with, honed and distinctive, blending an infusion of dark industrial soundscapes into a web of psychedelia. Open your ears, expand your mind and enjoy the ride! Barby is the psytrance & chillout project sculptured and launched in 1999 by one of the first Chilean trance musicians, Ignacio Barbagelata. Barby soon began performing and building a reputation as a trance artist, performing at local clubs, outdoor parties, festivals, and then joining collaborative forces with Chilean producer Ovnimoon in a collective called Psychedelic Shiva. With "Infiltrator", his official debut album released in 2012 on Ovnimoon Records, Barby exploded into the top 10 of the psytrance charts! “Logos” became the first release on his own label Barby Records, with distribution by Revolt Digital, a netlabel managed by the legendary British duo ManMadeMan. “Nexus” and “Anaconda” EPs and Barby’s first downtempo album titled “Imagine” were distributed by the largest psytrance and chillout netlabel, Ektoplazm. 2021 welcomed the release of Barby’s third album “Spectre”, with a plethora of tracks and releases out on Ovnimoon Records, Metabolizm Records and SpaceWarp Records, Barby paved the way forward closing 2022 with his heart stopping fourth album release “Mythologies”. Barby's honed and distinctive style combines an infusion of dark and industrial elements into trance while staying true to the roots of Goa and its ancient transcendental essence. Hello everyone, this post is to introduce our little new adventure, a sublabel that was born after many years working within the realms of unreleased music. We have received a lot of promos from artist from all the eras and have also actively searched and investigated a lot of projects that were otherwise forgotten. The idea came naturally as an extension to DAT Records and to create a digital sublabel was a necessity as there is a huge interest for the oldschool goa trance and psytrance music in all its forms. With this sub-label in fact, we are trying to promote not just the typical sound that we would promote within the main label but to open wide our horizons and include some styles and genres that we normally have not published. Will it be including modernly produced music? Not yet, as we do have a huge catalogue of releases almost ready to go and it is thanks to the work of the whole team of the Unreleased Goa blog that we have achieved this. But this is the adventure mostly of Vas Cosmogenesis, a precious collaborator who was through in his investigations and relentlessly contacted hundreds of artists in the years to prepare for this launch. I came up with the label name and we started moving early in this year. Now you can listen to the fruit of our hard work and we do hope to get some support and appreciation for all that has been done.
