  5. Artist: Spindrift Title: Deep Nature Label: Stereohemia Rec Date: Sept 23, 2019 Tracklist:- 1. Induced Mysticism 2. Respire 3. Deep Nature 4. Witch Switch 5. Transfix 6. Trypto Night 7. Halographic 8. Charged Particles SpindDrift Deep Nature is a solid release that doesn't try to be anything it's not. Not particularly aggressive, not to fast, not to slow. It might be right in the Goldilocks zone for psytrance, and a bit to the left of paranoia. Excellent production makes every moment clear, while bright psy leads cut through the psychedelic darkness that almost wraps it's way over your ankles. Induced Mysticism - Not instantly my favourite track on the album but it has creeped its way into me sphere of enjoyment. Creaky leads come in and out while background layers destroy your concentration. Respire - A funky start and bassline that makes me feel like I really need to get something done in the next 7 minutes and 46 seconds or the world will explode. Psychedelic leads pump out from the depths again and again as they are covered over in mossed tree roots. Respire is Anthem-esque, funk psy that induces visions from the first kick. Deep Nature - Bassline introduction 'Nice to meet you' and away we go. Probably the most complex in terms of melodic structure that we have heard so far. The leads feel raw and dark but are sprinkled over by brighter faerie dust. Top notch production quality all the way through. Transfix - A true dancefloor groover that is probably the most happening and psychedelic track of the album. Raw leads get flicked towards you while the melody soars above. This is vision inducing dancefloor music that makes you want to throw your hands in the air and spin a little. Witch Switch - The only bassline on the album that feels to big and repetitive, if it was toned down a notch I feel the rest of the track would shine... Speaking of, the rest of the track is pure psychedelia, the kind of track you can zone out to while driving through the night, don't slow down or one of the voices might catch you. Trypto Night - A cruisy track that gets better the louder it goes. Dancing between the kind of paranoia that keeps you checking the distant forest edge for those damn talking woodland trolls and bright green entrancing leads that beg you to come closer. In deep distance you hear all the spooky creatures gasping for your attention, background shouts drowned out by brighter leads and kickdrums that feel warm and safe stop this track going anywhere to dark. Halographic - Another head banger that feels like it may be chill until the voices at 1:48 spin the track into psycho baba land. This is another favourite of mine as the leads change direction more regularly and background synths feel full and dark. Halographic encompasses the album artwork the best in my opinion. Charged particles - my favourite track on the album. If there was going to be one anthem on the album this would be it. Fast and sharp leads hold the track together while psychedelic spicks & specks dance around groovy melodies. Like every other track here the low end is deep and punchy. Spindrift, is not your typical psychedelic trance producer. When I see a cover that hints at forest I generally expect machine gun baselines, disjointed layers that have various degrees of the gator fx and a nothing tale. 'Wow Tsotsi, you gotta put an entire genre down to build an artist up?' Deep Nature is the opposite of all that. We get warm punchy kicks, well defined thick leads that cut above the other layers and sparkly conundrums of psychedelia. If psytrance can pass the stock Citroen car speaker mono test then it is doing something right. Deep Nature sounds pleasant and well produced. Most surprising of all, it feels best to listen to this album during the day time while cruising down some highway to Nowhereville. https://stereohemia.bandcamp.com/album/spindrift-deep-nature

  13. Artist: Barmohak Title: Adrenochrome Label: Timewarp Records Date: July 26, 2019 Tracklist:- 1. Adrenochrome 2. Astral Life 3. Infinite Circle One of Timewarp's rising talents releases his 4th EP on the Label. When I first saw Mamomam Records release the Neogenia EP I was secretly wondering why it wasn't a Barmohak EP mostly due to him standing out the most in production style. Standing out isn't always a good thing, Like a clothed guy on a nude beach, or a nude guy on a clothed beach, a nude guy in a Mcdonalds play land or a Chinese flag waver in Hong Kong, then maybe i'd want to blend in a little better. Luckily if for Barak Steinberger, standing out doesn't have too many downsides in the music industry. His music is louder than most other Timewarp artists with leads that blast at you and weave them selves in and out of melodies. The beginning of Adrenochrome gives you an idea of what I mean. The track is pretty decent, there are moments when you want a reprieve from the onslaught but overall there are more good parts than not. Astral Life gets closer to a pure success with more variation and multiple melodies that find connections with one another throughout the song. All the layers do feel about as loud as each other, if I had to criticise I would say send some stuff to the background to be psychedelic there. A cool fast and wild track nonetheless that any dancefloor could get down to. When we reach Infinite Circle we bounce between extremely enjoyable parts to sections to high pitched melodies (Like 6:00) that don't quite fit as well IMO. The triplets are a cool touch and the last 2 minutes are awesome. A decent EP by an Artist with a lot of potential. I've watched some videos of his parties and the crowd really gets down to the tunes, which is a better test of his music than my opinion. My opinion coming all the same: If some more work went into creating extra depth in each track we would have a real winner, the music is creative, not timid, and full of great moments that never become boring, in fact boring is the last word I would use to describe Barak's music. But throw a little deepness into the mix, bring some of the layers down a notch OOOOHBOY that could be the secret for at home listening pleasure. As far as parties goes, there doesn't seem like much reason to change. https://timewarprecords.bandcamp.com/album/barmohak-adrenochrome-timewarp123-timewarp

  16. A new set, recorded a few days ago...Enjoy! Youtube Link
  17. A. The story What happens when you invite a dj to listen to your music. You ask him if he likes it enough to make a dj set. We are talking about a dj that played 'trance' music in Goa (India) in both the beginning and mid 90's? So a guy who knows what 'goa trance' is all about What happenend? a) Well, he likes the music a lot b) And he makes a wonderfull set with 100% Cronomi music Big huggs for 'Djamstore Beats'!!! B. The dj says what...?! "I've been invited to make a mix with tracks from Cronomi Records only. It was an honor and it was a pleasure to do so. I am happy to know that there are some labels out there keeping the original Goa Party music alive. Rooted in the old school vibes, Cronomi releases music which is nevertheless fresh and new without just copying the past, but bringing the original vibes back into the present. There is continuity, a clear vision of musical identity and a specific "label-style". I love that. Buy the artist's stuff. They deserve it!" C. The dj set/track list (THX to all the artists who made it happen all over the years) 1. Jikkenteki With 11 - Super Power Mustard, 2. Pandemonium! - A Mad Scientists Night (Subra vs Felis Remix), 3. 19. CODEXA offers you an auditory journey to the moon... I MOON 3 Mix : ABLASS Mastering : LUMIRIS (Paris) Release of the CODEXA album planned in December 2019
  20. Artist: Blue Hue Title: The Mandala Effect Label: Plateau 5 Records Date: January 1, 2019 Tracklist:- 1. Hitting Bowls 2. Positivictricity 3. Cosmic Interference 4. Mind Modem 5. Methamoprh 6. Mandala Effect 7. Dropping Society Ah summer time, where the sun flows through cities like gold, when cool nights are spent dancing under the ruby leaves while drinking iced tea made by the deities and spinning in our summer trappings. Condensation of diamonds forming on the outside of our glasses in while we were still free from the constraints of existence. I remember it so clearly, a better time. I'm certain. The Mandala Effect I can't tell you why this wasn't released by a bigger label than little old Plateau 5. I can't tell you why I haven't heard people talking about Blue Hue. I can tell why that should change right this second. With incredibly well produced lower ends, Driving rhythms, fun melodies and pretty bloody ripper album artwork if I may say so, The Mandala Effect makes for a worthy listen. Hitting Bowls starts the album off in cool style. the tibetan singing bowl sounds sends pure DMT into your head as it fills the space left by the other layers of the song. The melody floating in for the second half creates great energy and allows us to cruise through track. Positivictricity, go on, be honest with yourself, try and say that in one go. Another cruisy track is filled with soft layers that float around your head while the kickdrums pushes the track to it's final message about just being positive dammit! Cosmic Conference, the cosmos, home to all conferences known to life. Any conference ever had will happen right here, in our cosmos. Super clubby atmospheres and rumbles take this track into hyperdrive. The low end is THICK and fills the track with just enough space for the light high notes to sparkle along. The main lead melody could have been given a bit more emphasis but I aint saying i didn't enjoy it. Mind Modem brings us another big track that really blasts off at that 3:40 point. I was drifting through the first half of the track just having a daze then that break came and brought back to dance land. As Simon Cunninghurst would say 'Pretty dope' Methamorph this must be science for 'Absolute aggressive madness'. My favourite of all the extra clubby tracks. Super hot, I know it's true, no Mandala Effect here, just solid memory of a solid song. The Mandala Effect A longer track suggests to me that blue Hue has more ideas that he is willing to work with. And right I am, the main melody is super cool. Still light, but infectious. Dropping Society is the kind of track that starts and makes you think that you know what sort of song you are going to get. But as soon as the other layers start to seep in you quickly become lost in it's funkiness. Mandala Effect is a very very nice piece of art. The amalgamation of styles and techniques works really well here, resulting in more progressive club type tracks while remaining exciting for their entirety. The melodies are all cool, if not occasionally quiet but that's just the style of the album. this will be my next purchase for sure. It would be great to see more work released from Blue Hue. https://plateau5.bandcamp.com/album/the-mandala-effect
  21. 4 Extra-Celestial Goa Trance tracks that delivers pure bliss to the listener. Inspired from elements of Hindu Cosmology & the creation of the universe. Enjoy the trip and have fun dancing! https://themaniac1.bandcamp.com/album/birth-of-time
