  2. Sometimes it’s challenging to exemplify someone’s work and creation with just one word, but that’s not the case when it comes to the music of german Goa trance project Veasna. Mastermind behind the Veasna project and passionate Goa trance aficionado Patrick Dinklage gave a great definition of its own creation, by calling it simply noschool. And it fits perfectly. Spectral Flux is a collection of 9 new Goa trance tracks and expressive continuation of his debut album Energy, released back in summer of 2016. Each track on Spectral Flux supports the premise of noschool, offering the finest elements of modern and retro Goa trance, but keeping the creators own trademark mood. Perhaps the words from the author will be the best invitation to dive into this record and explore it: ''It is certainly no news that music can take you to places, including places that are not restricted to the physical world. From the opposite perspective, making music is a way to create those kinds of imaginary places, something I enjoy doing very much. So I am very glad that I may present nine more places for everyone to explore. Find in them what you will and enjoy your stay!'' 3. Artist: Hypnoxock Title: Moving In Trance (The Collection) Label: Astronautic Records Date: December, 2012 01 - Logic Evolution (138 BPM) 02 - Reflex (138 BPM) 03 - Viped 1 (138 BPM) 04 - Next World (140 BPM) 05 - Camouflage (130 BPM) 06 - Dimensio Desconeguda (138 BPM) 07 - Electroxock (145 BPM) 08 - Progresion Ecliptica (144 BPM) 09 - Ecstassy (145 BPM) 10 - Vibrations (Cosmic Remix) (147 BPM) 11 - Emotions (140 BPM) 12 - Rare Planet (147 BPM) What was once the best kept secret in psytrance is now one of the projects that restores faith in a genre that has seen its ups and downs. Hailing from Spain we are freshly basking in the afterglow of his latest album Eurythmia where he continues to develop his hybrid of goa, psy, and progressive trance. What makes this project so special is the attention to detail without sacrificing power or atmosphere. Total package. This release (which I guess is a collection of b-sides or unreleaseds?) is six years old as of this writing and like the rest of the catalog it is extremely solid. 12 digital tracks where they (at the time I think they were a duo) go up and down the genre with super results. Reflex and Viped 1 straddle that psychedelic progressive line while Camouflage will keep your toe tapping in a euphoric style with a progressive bpm. Even the tracks that aren't superlatives (full-on) still reek of quality and detail. If you like their lush and powerful style this one won't disappoint. Free at Ektoplazm
  4. Artist: Ovnimoon Title: Different Lifeforms Label: Ovnimoon Records Date: August, 2018 1. Astral Dimension feat. E-mantra 2. Alquimistas 3. Alien Medicine 4. The Vision feat. Esterim Patchul 5. Different Lifeforms feat. Etnica 6. Back To This Land feat. Ephedra & Esterim Patchul 7. Retro Sensor feat. Esterim Patchul & Sirium 8. Secret World of the Truth feat. Rigel "Why are you doing this to me?" "To show you just how much you don't know. Open your eyes." Another Ovnimoon album? When does he sleep? Or eat? Or put some dog poo in a bag and light it on fire in front of the door of the neighbor who smells like mothballs who yelled at you last week for listening to that hippie Beatles music. So....with his latest Hector decided to bring in the big guns. E-mantra. Etnica. Ephedra. Esterim F*cking Patchul. Or Patchouli. Who knows? Yeah. He's got it like that. I don't know if that's how he spells his name because Psyshop spelled it two different ways. Anyone else notice all those guest names begin with "E"? Weird. Anyway Hector been on quite the roll lately. His last several albums have been super hot not to mention he's running his label which seems to have a release every other day and twice on Sunday. Who would've thought that goa trance would come back in such a way that all the cool kids are doing it? Well it has and he slaps you in the face with a bit of a scorcher. Now I could've just listened to this all the way through, but you're not the boss of me. So I jumped all over the place. As an enthusiastic student of the genre I went right to the track that has Etnica (Different Lifeforms) on it. Actual footage of some rando on the street when I played him that track. Couldn't help himself, burst into flames. He's ok though. He's a trooper. So then I went to the one with legendary master E-mantra (Astral Dimension). It was good (how could it not be), but to be honest I expected a little more wickedness from these two mainstays. Kinda tame. Clearly the next track had to be the one with Ephedra (Back To This Land). That joint was shimmery and powerful. Kinda like coating a unicorn in glitter and shoving it through a wood chipper. Sorry kid...that was the last one. Sad face. The sample was a beat preachy, but it worked. Up next was the track with Rigel (Secret World of the Truth) for no apparent reason whatsoever. It's a stormer with nimble melodies stacked in layers. Nice. He's no slouch on his own of course with Alquimistas singing the praises of music's power and Alien Medicine just blowing the doors off the spacecraft. I know, I know this is all well and good. But you want to know how the tracks with Esterim Patchuli were. I can't tell you how much he was involved because Hector forgot to invite me to the studio, but I found Retro Sensor to be more engaging than The Vision but they were both quite good. Perhaps that's due to another collaborator named Sirian. Dude what are you doing on this track? Your name doesn't begin with "E". Bottom line, it's an album of pure goa trance with long tracks full of melody and power. Congrats! Ovnimoon Records Bandcamp Psyshop
  5. Artist: Praktika Title: Playing the Presets Label: Trance Bum Records Date: November, 2016 01 - Kierron Rajoilla (139 BPM) 02 - Hairahdus (140 BPM) 03 - Rahat Pois! (128 BPM) 04 - Donkey Kong (100 BPM) 05 - RooTest (146 BPM) 06 - Tuskien Taival (142 BPM) 07 - Fail Safe (139 BPM) 08 - Sea Of Mud (Mutameri Reggae) (100 BPM) "Here's to better living through chemistry!" Sometimes I go on a tear and just listen to music I've downloaded from Ektoplazm. There's a lot of what the f*ck moments to be found if we're being honest. It's how I feel about Suomi music in general, but the creativity is off the charts. This album was apparently lost and was originally supposed to be released in 1999 by Exogenic Records. I would describe this as psytrance mixed with Suomi and dusted with goa trance influences. It certainly sounds like it came from 99 when hardware ruled. The funky beat and piano riffs in Donkey Kong are enjoyable and I really liked the "late goa after the glory years" Tuskien Taival, along with the real drum sounds of Sea of Mud. Unfortunately the rest of the album didn't hold my attention with it's kooky sounds and sometimes uninteresting sounds. This type of sound has a very loyal following so even if I didn't care for most of it I can certainly respect it. Free at Ektoplazm

  7. [::::download::::] (1hr25min/320MP3/208.2MB/©2018) Genre: Upbeat Full-On Day Time Goa Trance to Reset your Mindset …and we reset… Each and every year, we are afforded hundreds of opportunities to fall asleep and dream of what’s to come. Then—between those dreams—in our waking hours, we get to experience things unimaginable to others only a few short decades ago. If one isn’t careful, one might find oneself overloaded with options and full of flight from fervent fears and fraught fallacies of freedom and formulaic fun… From here on out, we mostly keep bringing up the pace and increasing our heart rates. We swirl around with some pads, breaks, acid, and… balloons. There are things old, things new, things borrowed, and things… red? With that, here’s part two of our two-part journey into our reset. Exhale slowly. Start anew. … Featuring music from: Terra Ferma, Excession, Logic Bomb, Nervasystem & Aether, Xploring Inner Space, Sonic Species, Space Cat, MASA, Unknownium, UBAR TMAR, Dino Psaras (featuring Man With No Name), Texas Faggott, Shakta & Moonweed, 7 Seconds Soundcloud: https://soundcloud.com/goaconstrictor/reset Mixcloud: https://www.mixcloud.com/goaconstrictor/the-goa-constrictor-reset/ Hearthis: https://hearthis.at/goaconstrictor/goaconstrictor-reset/

  11. Artist: Merr0w Title: Out of Control EP Label: Self Released Date: June, 2018 1. Dancing Galaxy Remix 2. Mermaid's Twin Sister Remix 3. Neural Network 4. Out of Control 5. Amazing Bubble (Hardware Edit) This guy is like an on his meds Filipe Santos when it comes to productivity. His last self released album Hybridization was a good bit of acidic goa and that is also what you'll find here. Of note the intense and relentless Mermaid's Twin Sister Remix and Neural Network. The final track is a a cat o' nine tails whipping of nimble leads and bombast. Solid ep with the only flaw being the, ahem...questionable cover art. Merr0w Bandcamp

Big Dust In Chapora Fort (Piano Remix) Have we finally...and I mean finally extracted all that we can from the Etnica/Pleiadians sweat soaked goa towel? I'm prepared to take a position I know will be unpopular, but enough already. I love what they have done and I of course love Draeke and all at DAT Records for bringing us so much stuff that was previously lost. This album was like the holy grail of infinitely hard to find goa trance and in typical fashion Draeke and co. go big with 3 discs to satiate your Etnica appetite. I think it was in the album promotion thread where he said that there isn't mush left to release from the 95-98 golden era and that he is more focused on the "proto-goa" as he called it. That's his prerogative and I support him no matter what because he's earned that level of loyalty from me. Well unless he starts exploring The Faith Tones discography. And even then...maybe. First off let me say that the sound on this is incredible. I had the download (like a lot of you) and it was ok, but the mastering on this is superb. Even tracks that I can't stand sound fantastic. Hold on a sec... *puts on flame retardant suit. Hangs head* "F*ck!" *struggles to take off suit, falls down, flings boot across room and knocks over lamp, limps to bathroom and pees* *puts suit back on minus one boot* As I mentioned I think I am on Etnica overload. For me Alien Protein was the end all and be all of goa. Take that, LSD, IFO, and Dancing Galaxy and that is how you show an alien what goa is. So TJAUTBL was not even a close second when it came to awesome goa. But you know it's Draeke and the track record of DAT Records is unimpeachable so like I said I support their efforts. What you get is that release of course (which sounds brilliant) and then a whole bunch of early sounding goa and stuff that they never released. I'm not going to bad mouth it because it took a lot of hard work and time to get all this stuff together for a proper release. Three CDs of music from one of the greatest if not the greatest goa acts in history. One flaw that I will bring to your attention (if you don't already know) is that track 5 on the 2nd disc isn't Etnica at all, but Evolution with their track Alien Phenomenon. Apparently the Dat tape was mislabelled and it was too late to make the change when the CDs went out. Some people might lose their sh*t over this. I prefer to mail mine directly to 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. So the music is not my cup of tea, but the release is. Let me explain. Although I don't really care for most of the music on here, I cherish that it is now part of my collection. Variety is the spice of life and sometimes I don't feel like listening to thousand layer melody heavy goa and want something more rudimentary just to change gears. Hearing the early stuff also helps one appreciate where you came from. And that's who I think it's for. People who want to have everything that Etnica ever produced and people who are completionists (like me), and people who enjoy the early sound of the not ready for prime time Etnica classics. This is not even close to my favorite DAT Records release, but I'm glad I have it. Besides...we'll always have Live In Athens. Looking forward to seeing what DAT pulls out of their hat in the future. 13. Artist: Toi Doi Title: Synaptic Electrophoresis Label: Suntrip Records Date: January, 2016 1. Pixel Voyager 2. Elliptical 3. Spiral Dive Remix 4. Exostatic 5. Rossignol Perché 6. Exostatic 3rd Mix 7. Planet 4 8. Whale Way Express 9. Noise I've never cared for the music of Toi Doi. I bought Technologic long ago and really had trouble getting through it. This wasn't the type of goa trance that made me fall in love with the genre in the first place. I don't know if it's coincidence or not, but I couldn't find a review for that album here. Maybe y'all are just some lazy f*cks. Gilles Coia makes a different sort of goa trance that doesn't have a lot in common with projects like MFG, Astral, Etnica...His sound is more experimental and shies away from the intense layers and over the top melodies. I believe his sound takes some work to really absorb and process effectively. Then again, maybe I'm a lazy f*ck. The 2000's were pretty productive for him, yet it wasn't until the Mother Pitch EP in 2011 that I began to give his music another chance. So here comes Suntrip and DAT Records with their latest offering of music from the cagey veteran. These are tracks from the late 90's and early 2000's that promise a darker and more acidic sound. And right out of the gate he delivers. Pixel Voyager is a long, entrancing bit of nastiness that immediately becomes my favorite track from Toi Doi. It gives and takes while it grows. Granted the bar was low for me, but he certainly now has my attention. And then by the third track he lost it. Psychedelic? Yeah I suppose, but the Spiral Remix was also light on melody and manages to plod forward without many dynamics. Exostatic exhibits a violent electricity that I really liked. As the track went along it picked up intensity and I found myself in a deep nebula of bliss. Unfortunately this album is a bit of an up and down ride. Case in point, after the mildly eyebrow raising Rossignol Perche' track he lays the 303 hammer down with the Exostatic 3rd mix. Pure goa! Just when I think he's going to string a few bangers together, he kinda switches on the auto-pilot. Nothing bad mind you, but nothing that requires the back button. "Everyone who likes their goa-trance different..." That's the tagline from Suntrip's shop and it's accurate. Nobody is going to confuse this with Afgin or Artifact303. Different is a good way to describe it and it surely is a deviation from their normal stuff. As I mentioned it's a bit of an up and down ride with some really good tracks and some that could arguably be labelled filler. Certainly not the pinnacle of their catalog. However, the fa ct that they are taking chances and presenting something different is something that should be applauded. They have been accused of producing the same generic sound in the past and clearly they've listened to what their fans want. The sound quality is excellent and if you're a fan of his music than I can't think of any reason not to purchase it. I did. Suntrip Psyshop Beatspace
  14. Maiia303 – Goasana Tracklist: 01. Short Way To Stars 02. Kick Out Your Demons 03. Goasana Bandcamp Release info: Mystic Sound Records presents a new mini-album of one of the label founders, Maiia303 – “Goasana”. Maiia303 is a side project of Alla Vagner, the author of the chillout project Maiia. Her project Maiia303 is inspired by legendary Man With No Name and timeless psychedelia of the global electronic music that was expanding in the 90s, and she tried to create the music clearly for the dancefloor with today’s production standards. This music is an unexpected mix of seemingly different styles of music, from Breakbeat to old school Acid House, from already classic Goa Trance to atmospheric Psy Progressive. 3 tracks of “Goasana” are cooked in a trippy psychedelic style – 2 tracks are 120 bpm Goachill and the 3rd one, ‘Goasana’, is 145 bpm melodic Goa-trance. Powerful beats, rich basslines, bright melodies and, of course, the sounds of the legendary TB303 carry away on an exciting journey. You will find an exciting fresh sound for the dancefloor in this EP. Listen, dance and enjoy!

  16. Artist: Fiery Dawn Title: Magus Label: Timewarp Records Date: February, 2018 1. Dancing Fire (feat. Omneon) 2. Electro 3. Kundalini 4. Nightfall 5. Searching For UFOs 6. Tartarus 7. Wings of Fantasy 8. Magus 9. Flying To Infinity Yeahh....I'm gonna file this in the "just because it's goa doesn't mean it's super awesome" folder. This is Giorgi Shavgulidze with his debut album and unfortunately it sounds like he released a bunch of sketch pad ideas. Tracks that go nowhere, sounds that aren't really inviting...it just doesn't work for me. Even the parts that begin to build momentum don't develop into anything worth writing home about. The lack of supporting sounds and layers is also evident thus diminishing the final return. It's 2018. Need to step your game up. Timewarp Bandcamp
  17. Artist: Maan Title: Orbiter Ep Label: Ovnimoon Records Date: October, 2017 1. Earthstomp 2. Orbiter 3. Disconnect Me "This conversation can serve no purpose anymore." They should just become a goa label already. There's been more carnal knowledge explored with that genre than a meeting with Harvey Weinstein. Anyhow, this digital ep is the work of a nice chap from Norway and if I could offer him some advice...don't listen to president racist sh*thole. Why the hell would anyone want to leave Norway to come to a country where 20 children getting blasted is just the cost of doing business? Our government can't agree what color the sky is and doesn't seem to give a flying f*ck about education or health care. I would of course welcome you, but we need to get things sorted out so none of out sh*t gets stuck on you. Rant over, I enjoyed this ep. It's the Ovnimoon style through and through with thumping psytrance that is layered well relying heavily on that delicious goa sound. The sound quality is superb and deserves to be played loud. My favorite was Disconnect Me with it's rich atmosphere and seems to grow in intensity. He didn't reinvent the wheel and this style has been done before, but Hostess makes a lot of cupcakes too, and I'll eat the f*ck out of a box of those. *Double checks to make sure the webcam is off* Ovnimoon Records

Like most of you I am a fan of Suntrip Records, but as a reviewer of their music I have to put aside my fangirling ways and immerse myself into the artist's work. And most of the time I come away with a positive experience. Allow me to introduce the first hiccup of 2018. There are a lot of things wrong with this release which seems more like a history lesson than a Suntrip album offering. I don't own the label or have any say in what they release and I surely don't want to offend the artist, but... was there a lot of demand for a Ray Castle album? This is a definite niche album that to me is attempting to capitalize on the everything old is gold momentum. Ray Castle worked under several project names and according to the headache inducing word salad album blurb found on the bandcamp page he was "one of the most distinguished trail-blazing legends of the nineties Goa movement.." Really? Ok I don't have a masters degree in goa trance history so I'll accept that on its face. The head of this fine label are in a way better position than I to determine that. So let's just talk about the music because I am one of those that appreciate music from the past finding its way to the present day. This label did a remarkable job with the Shakta, Prana, and Denshi Danshi releases. The Rhythmystec tracks were released in 95-96 and are decent if not dated. Different time, technology, yadda yadda yadda. I was excited about the Insectoid tracks because unlike the stuff from Rhythmystec I had never heard of this project. Two tracks from that project take up the first 17 minutes of this album and to say they were underwhelming would be an understatement. Omniscient would also fall into this category regrettably as did the Sonic Sufi track. They have the sound of early goa without many layers to give it depth. The best track for me was the Time Traveler of Trance remix as it sounded more like the goa trance I like. Personal preference of course. So for me I cannot recommend this album. If you're looking for blasting old school goa trance with crazy melodies you will come away from this disappointed. As I mentioned I see this as a niche album (which I will still be purchasing to support the label) appealing to fans of this project and the early goa sound. Suntrip Bandcamp Psyshop Beatspace
  21. Infinitely Intericate Unfolding Kaleidoscope is a new full lenght release by New Zealand based producer Danny Marshall and his Goa-trance act Lectro Spektral Daze. This new album comes with 8 fresh tracks as a follow up to his well-recieved Full Fractal Vision album, published on our label back in early 2016, but this time with refined sound and more vivid production, where Lectro Spektral Daze continues to explore the themes and motifs from previous records. Infinitely Intericate Unfolding Kaleidoscope is a masterful journey into the landscape of Goa sounds, but it also tickles the progressive aspect of the genre itself, putting the listener into unique state of deep trance led by trademark LSD melodies and pulsating drum-kicks as a driving force of this record. Without any doubt, Infinitely Intericate Unfolding Kaleidoscope is an evolutive Goa trance record and a new step forward in Lectro Spektral Daze rich discography. 23. Artist: ManMadeMan Title: Hex EP Label: Matsuri Productions Date: 1996 1. Hex 2. Elevator 3. Trancesiva Another ManMadeMan ep and another instance where I'm wondering where's the f*cking chocolate? It's not like they threw together a garlic sundae, but this continual mediocrity is frustrating. It's as if they do just enough to call it goa and leave you to sort it out. Hex had zero twists and zero turns. Elevator was better, but they seem to get to a point and then set the cruise control. Where's the detail? Where's the complexity? Hello? Hey people! You left the sequencer running! I've held back comparing them to other goa trance producers from the past, but there's a reason why this project can't crack my top twenty. Get that deity off the record. You don't deserve that. Mdk

Monumental! This MASSIVE five track mini album maxi EP will take you across time and space to visit the Makers where the Magma Flows down the Middle Way in Unity to avoid an Error In God. The Monumental is the alias of Denis Sedov, born on September 18th, 1988. First love of psychedelic & goa trance was at the event known as 'new millennium'. Years of music trials and searching true sound of goa was like are point of madness... the farther away the more attractive... And once time this experience to mirrored as music project with focus on hypnotic patterns, synergy between electronic and ethnic instruments, surprising elements and emotional messages about something... momentous. I am strongly believed - spirit of goa trance music it is not only about dance energy, it is also about impacts in to the human auditory perception with extraordinary rhythms, ambience of naked nature, a couple of effects and melodic jams. P.S. Hello friends, few days ago I looked up at the Internet and was surprised that at the largest psyforum in the world there is absent something. And now decided to fix it. I hope you enjoy!
