  2. Artist: Trinodia Title: Ignorant Label: Goa Records Date: July, 2013 1. Halfdeaph 2. Violins on Acid 3. Whispering Truths 4. Hunger For E.S.P. 5. Ignorant 6. Groove It Up 7. Enya E Inte Rejv 8. It's All Static 9. Voxel9 - Transita Astra I'm ignorant about a lot of things. I mistakenly thought the country of Georgia was in the Balkans. I still don't understand the need for geometry proofs or why anyone would want to watch someone defecate on another person. Guess I'm innocent. But the list doesn't end there. Take this album for example. No it's not a new CD even though the guy is quite prolific. This is a remastered album of material from 2004 and is exactly what you would expect from the psytrance genre back then. Full on without the goa prowess he regularly wields today. A heavy sci-fi atmosphere and lots of sound effects with too many empty stretches will be found here. Tracks like Halfdeaph and Groove It Up shine the brightest for me both being quality twilight numbers. The last two tracks weren't on the original release with the last one being from his downtempo/ambient project. Liked that one also. Sounded like the dawn after a thunderstorm. He's been around a long time and this album shows just how far he has come from hawking Cds he burned himself out of the trunk of a Nissan Sentra after gigs. Cause ummm...you can't touch him now. 3. Hello. It seems that Psynews looks very different than last time I was here (many years ago) . Anyway my debut album is about to come out so here is some info about it ********************************************** A new style of music has been born. Welcome to Dreamland. It is a world of strong emotions and states of mind inspired heavily by Japanese game worlds, Goa trance and psytrance. Beware though, if you enter the Dreamland, there is no going back. The melodies and sound patterns might still be playing in your head even after turning off the speakers! In addition to unforgettable synth lead melodies and hypnotic repeating patterns, huge variety of classic instruments sounds like pianos, cellos, harps, electric guitars, string orchestras, female singing, throat singing, flutes, djembe drums, retro video game sounds, classic psy farts and even tb-303 are all there. Even oceanic waves, singing birds, grasshoppers, 19th century steam trains and strange fx tricks like moving stereo fields and unusual melodic transitions are part of Dreamland. Elements from multiple psytrance subgenres and other electronic music are combined into a masterpiece unlike anything that you have heard before. It took for a good reason over 10 years of mind work to create this album. Most of the tunes went through many iterations of creation, feedback and dance floor testing and it lasted years for them to develop into their final form. The tunes contain a lot of small details and every new listening is a different experience as you start to become aware of more details. Dreamland is a hyper dimensional flying trip. You learn to fly through different worlds, beaches, islands, oceans, dark forests, deserts and even ancient fortresses. As the creator of Dreamland has background in Scandinavia, Middle East and Japan, all these three music cultures have given influence. We are proud to present the debut album of Golan (aka DJ Aegonox). Dreamland is a classic that every serious electronic music collector needs to have in his shelf! ************************************************** LISTEN: http://dreaml4nd.bandcamp.com http://soundcloud.com/dreaml4nd https://www.facebook.com/dreaml4nd.music Psyshop: http://tinyurl.com/k4kaace Beatport: TBA Amazon: http://tinyurl.com/mhr69gp Web: http://dreaml4nd.net Google Music: tinyurl.com/kn4tlst iTunes: tinyurl.com/k75dta6 Juno Downloads: tinyurl.com/ptlxu2f Discogs: tinyurl.com/odn5klg Youtube: www.youtube.com/user/dreaml4ndmusic

  9. Artist: Atma Title: Music Revolution Label: BMSS Records Date: November, 2011 1. The outer limits 2. Freedom 3. Forbidden Paradise 4. Music Revolution 5. Disturbing Silence 6. Into the void 7. Space Conquest 8. It's time 9. When we dream 10. The Guide "You have been propelled into the void." Shame on you Atma. Shame on you for entitling your album Music Revolution when it's barely music and shall cause no revolution. Revulsion surely, but no revolution for you! This is full-on to.the.bone. Absolutely nothing to write home about. 6 years ago I would've rolled my eyes at such cheese. The album takes on a darker tone with the 4th track and gets better but once the whole is dug it's very difficult to climb out of it. Shame on Atma's friends who certainly voted 5/5 on Discogs to give this the ridiculously unwarranted score of 4.89. We stop friend s from driving drunk all the time. Couldn't someone maybe pull him aside and talk to him? That's higher than Etnica's Live in Athens for God's sake. Really? Can anyone say with a straight face that this is in the same class? "Smells like my dead husband!" Yes, it smells that badly. Adverbs motherf*cker...they're making a comeback. BTW, is that doubly racist, putting and Asian cartoon face on a black guy? Shame on promo guy who wrote this gem without even listening to the CD: "Atma leads us into a completely new perspective of electronic music." How the f*ck do you figure that? What happened bro? Who hurt you? Hurt you so bad that with this release you are potentially undoing any good that your previous albums have done. It's not Audiotec or DNA bad, but he is definitely running in the same race. Life is too short for mediocrity. Think of this as a cautionary tale to people who might not know any better. Put the Atma down and walk away. Walk away. Not linking to disappointment. Mdk
  10. Artist: Sienis Title: Personal Space Invaders Label: None Date: October, 2013 01 - Move Accordingly (145 BPM) 02 - Creation & Destruction (145 BPM) 03 - I Of The Storm (147 BPM) 04 - Party Groove (145 BPM) 05 - Solitaire (145 BPM) 06 - Human De-Evolution (145 BPM) 07 - iRock (145 BPM) 08 - Cosmic Comedy (145 BPM) "Sometimes a man decides that life is just too much...and all he wants is peace and quiet." This artist is one of those that is difficult to put in a box. Eki is from Sweden, but his crazy style borrows from his penis shaped neighbors from Finland. I'm not saying that people from Finland look like dicks, but their country sure does. Had a friend from Lahti and I couldn't understand a thing he said. Eki combines the symphonic with the eerie and delivers a healthy dose of samples and full-on. And a lot of that full-on is of the eye rolling and nauseating guitar variety (i of the storm). But in that same track is an amazing and dreamy break. What a paradox! Highlight? The funky and deliciously K-Pax ridden Human De-evolution. But in the end the cheese and annoying repetitive slicing of samples make this a subpar effort. Too full-on and corny. What I would love is if he would attempt a dark and serious sci-fi ambient album with horror movie samples. Something tells me he'd be really good at it. Free at Ektoplazm Mdk
  11. This mix was originally supposed to be something else entirely, but I deviated from that position when I simply couldn't find any psytrance of those styles that I liked enough to play in a set. So I am back with another "chapter" of my high tech full-power psytrance series with a second mathematical submission. You can find the first one here: Fractal Geometry. I named this one after calculus because calculus is confusing, and so is my flow and some of my mixing decisions. The first half blazes with highly technical and mathematical glitch and sequence work. The second half blisters with full power night psy. Just like calculus, it's kinda weird, but it makes sense if you think about it. Twilight - Bass Walk [Airglow] Digital Tribe - Sweet Dreams (Gemini Remix) [Goa Crops] Psyrabbit - Get Crazy [Zombster] Mind Control - Interzaptor [Trance Gold] Azax Bliss - F_cking Bass [Nutek] Azax Syndrome & Bizzare Contact - Summer Anxiety [Mainstage] Ultra Sheriff - Deception, Oil & Laser Beams (Blastoyz vs Sokrates Remix) [sectionZ] Biokinetix - Ultra Magnus Style (ft. I'm pretty sure they would punch all you right in the face. "Why must I deal with this sh*t every f*cking day?" So...you're writing the review for me then? "No One Can Stop Us Now" Ohhh...see what they did there? So clever. Got a better one... No One Can Stomach Ur Nonsense. "Because I got a song in my head" The pain continues. "So high" Is what I would have to be to buy this. Oy vey. This is the poster child for sh*tty full-on. Burn that non-sensical cover into your brain and scald like an Arby's lunch binge. There is not one redeemable quality here. The reason I review a lot of music (a lot of it bad) is so that people out in the real world can be responsible with their hard earned or stolen cash. If you reinforce bad behavior the child will keep repeating the action. That's why when they do something so mind numbingly stupid you whack 'em so hard they never make that decision again. Back to the favela gentlemen. Psyshop Beatspace The balls on this company to charge me $15.23 for this. Mdk
  14. Artist: Melicia Title: Running Out of Time Label: Phonokol Date: July, 2013 1. Experience 2. Running out of time 3. Freeman 4. Psychodeliya 5. Dancing up (dance mix) 6. Smash 7. Genesis 8. Sea Master 9. Illusion Quest "It seems...we are running out of time." If you picked out 50 of the all time cheesy full-on compilations and albums from the early to mid 2000's I'm willing to bet that Melicia was on 75% of them. Dude was everywhere and I believe him to be one of the harbingers of the Israeli full-on sound. And as we all know there have been an avalanche of derivative full-on producers that exploded onto the scene. Like a herpes outbreak at a frat party you just knew there were more coming down the line. Just looking at the Phonokol artist list on the Psyshop page makes me want to say Oy vey. It was one of the first albums I bought and it was aggressive. The samples spoke of aliens, and psychedelics, and there were movies I recognized. Realize I came from regular old trance where the vocals sometimes reminded me of house. Where the melodies were euphoric and sickeningly sweet. The bass lines here were punchy and rambled unlike the one note bass often found in trance. He put layers of crunchy sounds together and it was like a wall of powerful sound. Arpeggios filtered up and down the scale hit me just right. The tracks were long and seemed to get stronger as new melodies were added. But don't get it twisted. It's still full on and there are some tracks that make me want to jab a shrap pencil in my ear to end the suffering. Or at least parts of tracks. The house like female vocal in Psychodelia is just such an instance. I liked Smash, but could you cram any more samples in there? It's like a f*cking clown car. So if it sounds like I'm torn on this release, you would be correct. At times it can be powerful full-on and at others it's, well...full-on. And I think that's how it goes. The shelf life for full on is very short and this gets old rather quickly. Mdk
  15. Artist: Various Title: V/A - Zoo-B-4 - Future Technologies Label: U.S.T.A. Date: September, 2005 1. Distorted reality NOK 2. Dance OPTOKOPPLER 3. Venus MAGICAL SEX 4. Inside the house ENZIO 5. Cat vs Pigeom GENETIC SPIN 6. Magic Power NARKOTIX 7. Dance 2 the beat MIDITEC 8. Radiance (Psytekk rmx) SYSTEM NIPEL 9. Mystery of time MAGOON "There's no sounds like hit sounds." In the ongoing and tedious effort to whittle down my music collection I came across this. Ah, 2005. Back when labels were releasing full-on at an unparalleled rate this was just another title. I was buying up every release I could similar to a child with a new toy fetish and unlimited funds. Did the same thing with DVD's when that wave started cresting. Anyone need a used copy of 15 Minutes? All of which left me poorer and stuck with sh*t I no longer watch or listen to. This is typical Israeli full-on which had it's place back in 2005. Unfortunately that stage was super crowded. Highlights? Well, let's call them...not as low lights. The Genetic Spin track was on the funky side. And Magic Power had its moments. But let's face it, it is still full-on and not particularly that good of full-on. Is USTA an acronym for U Should Totally Avoid? I'm just askin' cause the label's picture on Discogs has some poor shlub shoveling a pile of sh*t. Just askin'. Psyshop - ONLY $3.94!! Mdk
  16. Artist: Royal Dancing Mechanism Title: On the Edge of the Universe Label: Mystical Flashback Records Date: August, 2013 01 - Amazing Trip (120 BPM) 02 - Messier 74 (144 BPM) 03 - Farnham's Legend (146 BPM) 04 - Visionary Experience (146 BPM) 05 - Sliding On The Verges Of Unreality (150 BPM) 06 - Dive Into The Unknown (150 BPM) 07 - Timeless (150 BPM) 08 - The Galactic Race (150 BPM) 09 - Andromeda (148 BPM) I'm under the assumption that the vast majority of the internet users have a modicum of intelligence and don't spin in circles and spend the day drooling on themselves. Having said that I'm nor sure Ektoplazm members understand how the ratings system works. The better the music the higher the rating. Seems simple doesn't it? This release is bland and generic sounding without any of the complexities that would warrant such a high rating. Now musical taste is subjective so that is the wild card. What I like might be loathed by the next guy (Don't listen to that guy...he's a tool). But averages dictate that it would all balance out. We should be seeing the majority of releases in the 70-80% range. This is over 90%. I call bullsh*t. That would make the rating higher than established classics like aLive by OOOD. F*cking ridiculous. So the only explanations are lots of votes from friends and relatives, mercy votes, or a failure to understand the rating system. All of which make the system itself a complete waste of time. Clinging to positive results of an Ekto voting system is like thinking you're cool and popular because you have a lot of Facebook friends (so sad). Say what you will about Discogs, but for the most part at least their ratings have their feet planted in reality. Sigh, but arguing on the internet is pointless and best left to comic book store guys and adult me living in mommy's basement. Ektoplazm performs a service that is second to none. It's where I get the vast majority of my music and is invaluable in bringing free music to those who crave it. It help the artist get their name out there so it's win win for all parties. Bottom line the only way to be sure the music suits your taste is to give it a try. Doesn't cost you anything but time. I'm sure most people listen before they commit to buy and don't rely on a rating, but if I didn't bring it up I wouldn't have anything to write about today. If I had to give it a rating it would be half of what is listed. Nothing here that is memorable and it becomes just one more brick in the wall of mediocrity. Yeah, yeah Pink Floyd, pudding....yadda yadda yadda. Free at Ektoplazm Mdk

    "V/A - XXL"

Artist: Various Title: XXL Label: Spun Records Date: September, 2004 1. 3rd Dimension (G.M.S. RMX) VOID 2. Decibal G.M.S. VS TORTURED BRAIN 3. Tweakers (Pixel Vs. Domestic RMX) G.M.S. 4. Tingling Sensations SHANTI 5. Insomniac BUSHMAN 6. Unknown WRECKED MACHINES, PIXEL, DOMESTIC 7. Reflections G.M.S. VS SOMA 8. Exit ALTERNATE VISION 9. XXL G.M.S. 10. Father and Son SOMA "I'm gonna take you to another dimension!" Could this be rock bottom? Please dear God let this be rock bottom. Yet another Spun compilation that might as well be a GMS album. What the hell was I thinking back then? I'm unloading my Spun stock faster than a stock broker before the recession. Weak, weak full-on which is clearly their calling card. I said extra cheese. And boy do they deliver. Music has to evolve and to do that it has to overcome certain hurdles. Apparently some hurdles are harder to clear than others. Back in 2003 though was full-on as much of a dirty word as it is today? I don't think so. At the time maybe this was just what the dance floor needed. Today though this is unlistenable. Bright spots? There are none. This is a black hole of creativity where nothing escapes. It sounds exactly like everything else that has come from Spun Records. They're f*cking releasing the same album over and over and like a dumb ass I bought it. If the choice was to make it all the way through this again or have a sh*t sandwich...what kind of bread is that? Psyshop Mdk

Soma ZORBA "How do they know that the real world isn't just another simulation?" In a never ending quest to purge my hard drive of music that I'll never again listen to I find myself face to face with yet another Spun compilation. Surprise surprise. Want an even bigger surprise? It's filled with GMS style full on. The facepalm variety where you can't believe that you ever thought this was cool. Think of this as the height of 80's fashion. Sure you wore members only jackets, but the only club you belonged to resembled the high school chess team. Just go ahead and push those sleeves up to the elbow for the full feeling. 10 years ago I'm sure everyone had regrets and things they wish they could take back. This is mine. It's a who's who of full on and they all follow the exact same formula. Long moments of the kick and the hi-hat. Something that could be termed the Spun bass line. Yes ladies and gentlemen they're all here in their head shaking looking to the heavens glory. I'd say they learned their lesson, but they continue to release this type of unimaginative drivel. The real question is who keeps buying it? Psyshop...hurry up, only one left in stock! Mdk
  19. Artist: Various Title: Zero Gravity Label: Spun Records Date: May, 2005 1. Mozart GMS AND JIMBO 2. Blizzard INTELABEAM 3. Haiku (rmx) WIZZY NOISE 4. Blue (Deedrah rmx) ALTOM 5. The moon SOUNDAHOLIX Now I want you to keep kicking and punching if I ever listen to sh*t like this again. No matter how much I say, "Yeah, but..." Continue the beatdown. It's the only way I'll learn. Horrible, just horrible. Galloping bass lines, cheesy samples and a total lack of imagination. So much cheese. Spun Records widely recognized as one of the main contributors to the dumbing down of psytrance put a lot of the usual suspects on this sh*tfest. Sometimes you like to go back and listen to music that maybe started you out in the genre. Stepping stone albums I call them. Uh...no. Not in this case. Think the guy pulling down 6 figures goes back to his first job at McDonalds to reminisce? This is a time capsule of where psytrance unfortunately was. Good thing is we didn't have to wait 50 years to open it up and see what a f*cking disaster it had become. Maybe I'm being too harsh. Sure it's cheese intensive, but sometimes you like to just let your mind go and... Thank you. Thank you. I needed that. Psyshop (Still available! Now with more beatings!) Mdk P.S. No matter how many concussions I sustain, I still like the Alternative Control Remix of Fuel Knock.
  20. Artist: HelixNeubla Title: Trip To Infinity Label: Gliese 581C Date: December, 2011 01 - HelixNebula - Off The Ground (148 BPM) 02 - HelixNebula - Diving In Positive Energy (145 BPM) 03 - HelixNebula - Trip To Infinity (142 BPM) 04 - HelixNebula - Through Space, Through Time... (147 BPM) 05 - HelixNebula - Beyond Boundaries Of Human Imagination (145 BPM) 06 - HelixNebula - Helix Nebula (140 BPM) 07 - HelixNebula - Silicon Galaxy (145 BPM) 08 - HelixNebula - Dancing World (148 BPM) 09 - MentalImage - Mental Spores (115 BPM) "I hardly need to sleep anymore, I feel wonderful! It's like a drug, but a perfectly pure and benign drug!" Coffee. He's talking about coffee. Or ex. Maybe it's, no definitely ex. This is the rush I get when I watch women's tennis. That's not really true. I only watch it for the booty shorts and Serena's boobs. Don't judge me. I'm watching Serena play this chick from Kaz...Kazak...uz beki beki stan and she's ripping this poor chick apart like that pic of the baby obliterating a smurf. Look it up. It wasn't even close. I think she had 4 serves in a row where the chick didn't even make contact. Throw in the fact that if you compare physiques it's like Kate Moss vs. a linebacker and you've got a bona fide disaster movie in the making. Which leads me to one inexorable conclusion. I'm terrified of Serena Williams. HelixNebula is Russian Stanislav Tiptsov and you may be aware of his other project MentalImage (also one that doesn't believe in the use of the space bar). I downloaded this because Basilisk put Goa in the description. This is full on all the way. It's not bad, but I no longer have any patience for this type of music. It's very melodic so he scores points there. Especially at one in the morning. Most of it is competent full on except Silicon Galaxy which is truly an insult to horrible. Bright spot? The final track is a pretty good bit of psy business under his other alias. And holy sh*t did he use the Astral Projection spice sample? Yes he did. Dude. These days it's easy to pick on Astal and Lord knows I've done my fair share, but where the hell is your sample etiquette? This is his take on the Astral classic and it would fit in with the stuff on Ten. Remember what an unholy sacrilege that was? Many a virgin had to be sacrificed to atone for that blasphemy let me tell you. So if you like melodic full on then this is for you. Not for me. I have to build a bomb shelter capable of withstanding a level 5 Serena home invasion. Free at Ektoplazm Mdk

  22. Hi! I just wanted to share my latest track, "Allsparked," which is sort of a remix of the "Scorponok" theme from the Transformers movie. You can hear the track on Soundcloud, and it can be downloaded in lossless Flac format. Best described as full-on melodic stomper? https://soundcloud.com/drumpets/allsparked Feel free to leave some comments - I always appreciate feedback! (To my fellow producers: I'd like to know how the low end sounds to you; I was comparing it to various professionally (presumably, anyway) mastered releases, and I honestly don't know what to think: some tracks have very little "oomph," but a very crisp bass that cuts through glass. I feel that my bassline maybe sounds a little muddy, but it's got more low end thump than some of the tracks I've compared it to.) Cheers, spork

Sorry about that old boy, but a window revealed itself and immediate action was required. Your country needs you again. Can we count on you? Of course general just say the word. I'm not asking you to clean my toilets. This is a real dirty job. A job that requires focus and the utmost patience. You're going to hear things...things...you can't unhear. *sips scotch* What are we talking about here? This is a rescue mission. A one man operation. I need you to go through a 2 CD set of full-on and come back with some good tracks. You'll have to wade through the seriously subpar and derivative to return with survivors. Under no circumstances should you engage the enemy. *walks to window and peers through the blinds at the coming dawn* I've...I've already lost enough good men to this fight. He was a good man sir. The best. *waits a few respectful moments and judges the time is right for his next question* What if I find a gem? A superb track? *looks at man with incredulity* Haven't you been listening to a word I've said!?! You're going into a 2 CD set of dull-on! Tracks that go nowhere, minutes on end of "is it finished yet." Possibly build ups that totally kill any momentum and a blatant overuse of samples that weren't cool a decade ago. You won't find any gems here damnit!!! *composes self and exhales deeply* Besides our intel would've discovered any quality tracks in our latest reconnaissance. Our man on the inside said these are some of the worst conditions he's ever seen. What's the time frame? *general leaves window and approaches desk strewn with maps* You'll leave at once. The drop off point is here where you'll rendez-vous with your contact in the Resistrance. Lucas is a good man and he's hidden deep behind enemy lines. He'll equip you with the list of potential hostages, but it'll be up to you to make it that far. We've uncovered the list of adversaries you'll be facing. Psysex, Barak, Loud...you've gone up against them before. Once you get past the initial wave of crap that's where you'll find our boys. Maybe. It's also the most dangerous time during the whole mission as you'll be too deep to call for an evac. Good luck colonel. *stands up and salutes* 3 weeks later in a debriefing room in an undisclosed location *General enters room and removes hat* At ease soldier. Glad to see you doing well. The doctors say you'll make a full recovery. I...I want you to know we put our best man on it. I know sir. He did everything he could and we almost made it out with a few others. But...he, he never stood a chance. The full-on was just too horrible. Build ups, tuned up samples, and even a Martin Luther King sample. He was only one man. The onslaught of suck was beyond belief. And the cheese...so much cheese. 19 tracks and only one survivor. Your country appreciates everything you did soldier. Now please get some rest...we hear Nutek might be planning a release in the near future and I'd like to put my best man on it. Yes sir. As you were Lucas. Psyshop Beatspace Goastore Mdk
