It has been an invaluable resource for great music that would otherwise have been relegated to the unheard bits and bytes of the internet. They truly have something for everyone regardless of taste. Vytautas Paukstelis is from Lithuania and at this time this is his only release. Is it darkpsy? Forest? Psy or progressive? A little bit of all actually. The details (effects that amplify the atmosphere and where I think his strength lay) stand out on the downtempo intro and dark tracks like (An)other Dimension thrusting the listener right into the ancient forest. Jazz With Wartuba is creepy with liquid hallucinations and the dark vibe is palpable. I love the break in How To Style the Drive...involving. Sound Gamma Radiation is part darkpsy, part...Suomi? I dunno, but I enjoyed it. If I had a criticism it would be that some of the details and atmosphere get lost in the overwhelming beat and bass. It's accessible for the casual listener (even if it's a bit all over the place) and while far from my favorite album I was glad I gave it a listen. Some good ideas in here. Free at Ektoplazm

after years of hating that stuff, i've finally — and to my surprise — come to the conclusion that there's a lot more good darkpsy out there than i initially thought. mind you, i still hate the same things that are characteristic of darkpsy (namely the screeching, metallic fm synths and that the bassline and kick often melt into a single low hum without drive and power, also stupidly high bpms that make the kbbb sound childish. in short: anything that sounds even remotely like Highko - Who Has Won). but it seems there's a lot of darkpsy that avoids these for the most part. what i'm looking for is music with crazy fx, atmosphere, storytelling, maybe even melody with a powerful kick that's not drowned out by the bass. so basically i'm looking for tracks like these: Overdream - United Nations Vibrations (great synths, atmospheric not metallic at all, but the kick and bass lack drive), Atriohm - Close to Nowhere (Tengri Remix) (nice kick and bass, atmosphere and even some melody. only the harsh synths appear in the later parts of the track) Mark Day - Us Until The End (similar as above, but it starts out with screechy synths that disappear as the track progresses) Penta - Neurotic Call (all around good track) Soma Rasa - Halava (Tengri Remix) (same) Lunarave - Cannon Fodder (harsh intro but perfect from 2:00 onwards). as far as i understand the forest spectrum of darkpsy is more likely to fit in here?

Artist: Sab Kuch Milegator Title: Surrounded By Surreality Release: March 15, 2018 Label: Aint no Label could handle this (Self Release) Tracklist: Surrender to Surreality Intro Extrapyramidal Twerking On A Pyramid (RMX): Twistortion Rodeo Caramel Carousel: First you, then others & Third eye The Point Of No Yes No (Overwrite Engaged) Disorient Express Gringrinder The words ‘forest’ and ‘suomi’ never drop down in my Ecosia (Yea i save the trees) suggestion bar. One would have to assume that this is entirely due to me never having searched for those genre’s. One would be right. Then along came Klaus Akan Tea? Kaos Aiken Tah? Kana Nakan Tea? Kauas Aikain Taa! Its Kauas Aikain Taa alright. Along it came, it took 4 attempts over 3 months to wrap my head around it (I’m a slow learner), but once I got there it was well worth my time. Now Sab Kuch Milegator is back with the much more pronounceable and equally as danceable Surrounded by Surreality. With a front cover that the Astral Projection guy couldn’t fault, we are off to a good start. Surrender to Surreality Intro: Love me an intro. Love me an intro that lasts a bit longer and goes to stranger places. But this a niggly little niggle that we shouldn't dwell on. Still nice to have an intro to begin with. Extrapyramidal Twerking On A Pyramid (RMX): Did you know that Extrapyramidal was a real word? I did not. Slightly less weird than the original, i’d say more refined and a little less exciting as a result, first song of the album though so it’s really just warming us up. Twistortion Rodeo: Rick coming at cha, which is fitting because with more Rick comes more madness. Twistortion Rodeo delivers big time. Entrancing atmospheres surround you from start to finish. The 4 minute break is appreciated, always love a little broken beat. Caramel Carousel: SKM brings it down a notch with a slightly less crazy first act of the song. We got 9 minutes though, I wouldn’t expect it to stay this way. A more build focused track with some beautiful little background things going on. The voice samples, as always fit perfectly and before you know you’re lost in another one of Sab Kuch’s mental trips. First You, Then Others & Third Eye: ‘Oh hey dad’ ‘No, nothings wrong i’m just listening to music’ ‘No nothings wrong, yes this is music’ ‘Well everything is just sounds really’ ‘yea but the weird noises make melodies and create a rhythm’ ‘No i’m not trying to be clever’ ‘No please don’t send me back to the therapist! ITS JUST MUSIC!!’ ‘Well at least let me bring my headphones along’ This is the weirdness I like. Neat track name, neat little intro. A smooth ass track that’s really quite easy to get lost in. You could be forgiven for thinking that a 12 minute track could get old fast, today we forgive all. The Point Of No Yes No (Overwrite Engaged): Another great track name leads us into the darker realm of frequencies. What would we do without Rick and Morty samples? What would we do without Sabby K. The song really explodes into awesomeness at the 7 minute mark, love it. Disorient Express: My god these track titles are hot. Less twists and turns in this song but a solid Goa lead sits in the back throughout the track. One of my favourites. Gringrinder: The ultimate antidote to the bullshit Christmas cheer we all endure at the end of the year. Then again, Scandi christmas is a little darker than us out West (and the Fins, if we can really consider them Scandinavian, are the darkest of all. better sense of humor too). All these little social factors come together in this track. Also, you don’t hear a lot of explicit language in trance, which only just occurred to me now. Sab Much Milegator comes through with easily the most well planned thoughtful album to date. Negatives of this are you miss out on some of that suomi madness that we got blasted with in Kauas Aikain Taa, if like me you are the sort of person who relishes in confusion you come out of this a little less so. Positives (and there are many) are that for someone like Tsotsi, this meticulous crossing of genres creates an unrivaled listening experience. There's no point in me rating this as every piece of Goa I listen to sounds amazing to me. But what about Suomi and Forest? Well that’s a different story, no one i know (and i know three artists) nails this like Sir’ Kuch. The crossing over of genre’s, the patience, the vision in the tracks, it’s all there. So, there was a discussion on Schlabbaduerst Rekkords group (https://www.facebook.com/groups/12107835483/) on facebook regarding a vinyl pressing. This post is about trying to gauge the interest if there is any, discuss ideas, means of achieving and having a general discussion about one of our favourite label and artist, Schlab and David respectively. Few questions which I would like to hear your answers : # Would you participate in a crowdfunding activity for a Schlab/BoTFB vinyl.? If yes, what will be the amount you will be comfortable pledging and for what period of time will you be willing to wait. # Would you be ok with a 180gm double vinyl of an album or would you prefer a single 10"/12", please do mention what you wish to be pressed. #If we ended up succeeding in turning this idea into a reality and the vinyls are pressed in Sweden itself, would the high shipping prices affect your decision to pledge.? Please note that this activity is being provided out of self-interest and David would be informed about this topic, how this topic is received and the responses shared here are definitely important and they might encourage David to pursue the idea. Write down Primislje , and few kilometres before you arrive , there will be signs for the festival . In case you don't have a GPS system , out festival location is exactly half way on the road between SLUNJ and OGULIN . Check google maps before and you should have no problem with finding the Festival . BY BUS : - There is bus service operating every day from Zagreb , Split , Zadar , Sibenik and other places to Sunj . We will post all the timetables 2 months before the festival , once when we are sure timetables will be fixed and won't change. Shuttle bus will be provided from Slunj with a reasonable price . BY PLANE : - In Croatia there is 6 airports : Pula , Rijeka , Zagreb , Zadar , Split and Dubrovnik. The most convenient to travel to is Zagreb , Zadar and Split , but in case you find some great flight deal ( and there are a lot of low cost airlines flying to all of the airports ) don't hesitate going to any of them . It may take you a little bit longer to arrive to the festival , due to interconnections , but its worth of saving money. I don't know where to begin. I've been going through threads learning everyone's perspective on Goa music today. A lot of it the discussion comes down to originality, a sense of playfulness, and artist skill. Well. The folks over at Troll N' Roll records have teamed up with Ektoplazm to deliver, to you, Gubbology - Anachronism. I won't go into individual songs as that would take far to long and I have a lot to say already. The relationship between dark psy and forest has always been apparent. While I've noticed aspects of it in some goa releases it's never the defining feature. No more, Gubbology has shown how beautiful the two, three, four?? genres can dance around in a twisted display of respect for one another. Gubbology keeps each aspect away from one another until like a magician he brings them all together in beautiful climax's. For that reason I can't really say that we should label it into a genre as it's just Gubbology's unique take one psytrance. Every song bounces around playfully, going from light happy energetic dance floor destroyers to deeper darker twisted funk. Each track is original from the last. Each track is fun. Each track is a challenge for you to keep up. If it was easy to do this I imagine I would have heard more like it before. I can't believe this is given free to us via Ektoplazm, that generosity is twisted in it's own way. Well i don't know what else to say. Can you tell I think this album is worth everyone's time. And it might not blow you away the way it has me, but i think you're all going to like this.
