Artist: Bioterranean Title: Souk (EP) Label: Horns and Hoofs Records Date: July 5th 2018 1. Virtual Jungle 2. Syrup Pool 3. Playground 4. Lost In Raval I'm not a techno boy. Alright alright I'll listen to techno in a club, I'll slowly move the top half of my body from side to side. Sometimes I'll do a little dig down at the ground and every now and then I go full disco and wave my arms in a slow little circle above my head (Liberating). But unless its free on ektoplazm I just have to much else to listen to. Maybe I'm just not listening to the right stuff. Victor Solsona is here to help me, and I am a Victor Solsona fan. For those that don't know the full name Victor also runs the Hypnoxock project which is just banging track after banging track. Bioterranean is the psychedelic synth and acid heavy tech/techno/psy project with production quality on the same level. His latest EP gives us 4 psychedelic techno tracks, each unique and exploring a different realm from the last. Virtual Jungle has some nice little jungle sounds which open the album up nicely. Unless you're alone in the Brazilian Amazon I know you like jungle sounds. The track is full of funk with elastic synths that work their way into your cranium. Syrup pool funks things up a little extra with a pretty groovy baseline and lots of psychedelic sounds. Synths are straight techno and surrounded by ominous squelchy fun. Playground starts with the screams of joy from little amigos playing in what I can only assume is a playground, completely unaware that they have been born into a world of difficult choices and darkness. Little dunces. Victor knows this though and goes all dark and wobbly in this track. acid lines build and build until they hit a nice little breakbeat. Lost in Raval is a synth laden, stomping banger of a track. I once got lost in a supermarket, in my little 8 year old panic I picked the first lady I could find and came up to her calling her 'mum' only to find out she was not. This track is infinitely better than that moment. Biggest track on the album and a bunch of fun. Bioterranean comes out hard in this EP, with the same precision and care that we were presented with Eurythmia. Victor's style choice of sounds in all his music is a delight and I recommend getting this album, even if it means going onto Beatspace. Woop woop. https://www.beatport.com/release/bioterranean-souk-ep/2330525

Having a blast working in lower tempos, new sounds and emotions. This was made as a friday morning jam, bathing in the early rays of sun Made another one this morning, I'm feeling inspired now that spring finally has come to Sweden After many months of snow and freezing temperatures it has now been really nice for around two weeks! Feedback is always welcome, especially on the mixing.

You'll Never Know - You'll Never Know EP This Release is very special. It is the story of the track that was the biggest hit in Goa during the season 1991/92. How it ended up there, it's a fabulous tale. Read it here... The year is 1991 and the season in Goa is going to be a blast. All the DJs are exchanging tracks for the upcoming parties, but there is a track, THE track, that everyone wants to have and to play. A hypnotic piece that is “You Never Know”. Read the story from the Artist: “There was a time when we suddenly appeared at the Goa scene with You Never Know, which was one of the first tracks we made after forming the band. The track ended up in Goa, without any appearance from either me or my partner because at that time I knew a French guy in Denmark, Besugh, who was totally into the Goa scene at that time, constantly walking around with his DAT recorder, collecting tracks from all over as well as DJing around the Aarhus scene. Every year he went to Goa for the winter playing at venues; he had his second home down there. I played the track for him once and he asked for a copy. When I saw him the next time, after he had been in Goa for the winter, he was completely crazy, screaming that "You Never Know" that year was the biggest hit in Goa. I know that Frank from Koxbox mentioned it to me as well. Besugh was the "main man" that year at the beaches, since he was the one who had the only copy of the track. Since you have been so determined for such a long time, to look up about who was behind it, me and my partner will allow you and DAT records to license the track. We are both happy that our track had, and obviously still has, an impact. It personally reminds me about the time when I was young and eager to contribute to the electronic music scene. This all happened a few years before we became famous musicians. Thanks again for bringing this memory up.” The track is mystical and there are people who have been looking for this tune for so many years on every techno and trance record they could find from, yet it eluded everyone because it has never been released before. We are so proud to be able to offer this fantastic track that was lost on an almost unreadable CD-r, the sole surviving copy, together with three other bombs from the same demo, bringing back that original vibe, from the sunny beaches of Goa teleported directly to modern times, to preserve this music for eternity. We are so grateful to have been given the rights to release this - it is a rare chance and we thank the producers profoundly and to help give this epic track the deserved glory and place in history that it deserves. Play it loud and enjoy it! Credits: Mastered by Jaro Valo @ Analog Dimension Executive Producer: Federico Draeke Photography by: C. Willensen Available Soon on vinyl (black/clear) and as digital download.

Artist: Intermix Title: Phaze Two Label: Third Mind Records Date: November, 1992 1. Get Religion 2. Down and Out 3. The Process 4. Can You Move It 5. Dream On 6. Funky Hell 7. Phaze One 8. Truth 9. Corollary 10. Monument 11. Fall Out Intermix is one of the projects of legendary Industrial act Front Line Assembly which is steeped in electronics and atmosphere. Their music often illustrates a futuristic dystopia with the requisite gravely vocals. Now going on 25 years old this was the second album (hence Phaze Two I assume) from this project and if you're a fan of this duo (and you really should be) then you can recognize their style. Unlike FLA this has no vocals only funky breakbeats and samples drenched in electronic manipulation. Their first album was rather rudimentary complete with early tropes of industrial electronica, but I believe this was where they started to put it together. The beats are head noddingly good (mostly) while their atmosphere creation certainly took another step. This style would open the door to FLA classics like Hard Wired, Implode, and Flavour of the Weak. Unfortunately most of the tracks sound a little dated and probably cater to the early 90's dancefloor in a goofy techno rave, sample heavy vein (Dream On, Funky Hell, Truth). Still there is some good to be found here and as I mentioned this album appears to be an important stepping stone.
