  2. Artist: Ephedra Title: Journey Through My Head Label: Goa Madness Records Date: October, 2014 1. We Are Not Alone 2. Beyond Spaces 3. Crispy Biscuits 4. Souls In Trance 5. The Walk of the Little Green Man 6. Little Molecules 7. Experiments 8. Bubblized 9. Smiling Sun (2013 Edit) Wow. Just...wow. Did anyone see this coming? Goa Madness Records is one of the new kids on the block and this label has had quite the beginning. Their first release was a compilation called Memories From Goa Madness. They played it safe and it was tried and true goa trance. Nah, it was better than that in this reviewer's opinion. So fresh off the success of that release they drop this bomb on us. This is the debut album of Alexandre Cohen and it is beautiful. So many swirling melodies and those acid sounds are verily delicious. Set your phasers to maximum twirling because this is a journey that catches you up and doesn't let go. Twists and turns abound and the sound is terrific. It's a full and rich atmosphere with screeching leads and layers of immeasurable beauty. I'm sorry I don't have anything funny to say or silly gifs to post. This is just a fantastic release and rightly deserves consideration for goa trance album of the year. Superb job my friend. Psyshop Beatspace Mdk
  3. This week on Psylicious Radio we welcome Belgian based Goa trance label, Goa Madness Records, who will be providing you all with some tranced out hypnotic bliss featuring a DJ set from Kuririn with producer live showcases from Ephedra and Moon Beasts. Enjoy! Goa Madness Records is a Belgian Goatrance label created during the summer 2013 by Ephedra & Kuririn, releasing fresh Goa trance coming from all horizons. Goa Madness aims to provide various styles ranging from acidic & highly psychedelic Goa trance that will perfectly fit on every dancefloor during the night, to more melodic, spiritual or euphoric Goatrance that will raises the smiles in parties during the shiny mornings. Listen to the show: KURIRIN [Goa Madness Recs] BE Kuririn is Julien Daine, a Belgian DJ who started to get involved into music in his early teens. His first contact with electronic music was @ the age of 14 when he got interested in progressive & uplifting trance. He discovered Goatrance a bit later while he went to his first party in 2003. He was immediately hooked by this style and became more & more interested by those psychedelic sounds. After 1 year, he decided to buy some DJ equipment and started to collect some music. Since then he played at numerous parties in Belgium and abroad. His DJ sets can be filled with modern Goatrance or even old school stuff ranging from melodic to darker styles depending on the momentum. Since 2013 he is also co-manager of Goa Madness records with “Ephedra” and since 2017 he is also DJ'ing for Zion 604. For this showcase you can expect a lot of modern Goatrance including plenty of Goa Madness Goodies! Alex musical trip started around 1998 when he discovered electronic music. He began slowly to buy DJ equipment and started to play progressive trance for his own pleasure. After some years training with the decks he got interested in many others electronic styles like techno, house, electro and began to play in small student parties. After some time, he discovered Goa trance / psytrance while he was at a festival in Belgium. He was so impressed and directly felt in love... Some times later he began to play in small oldskool Goa parties and started to produce his own music. Soon after he had the opportunity to be a resident for the German party org “Tranceforce prod” and started to play live acts and DJ sets in Germany a few times a year. His first release « Acid rain » appeared on the compilation « Goa overdose 2 » (UAF recs) followed by many other releases on labels such as Suntrip records, Sita records, Ovnimoon recs & more. His first album "Journey through my head" was released in 2014 on Goa Madness Records, followed by 2 other albums. He already played in several countries such as: Israel, Brazil, Japan, Serbia, Spain, Portugal, Croatia, Poland, Hungary, Germany, Switzerland, France, The Netherlands, Lebanon and of course Belgium... His style can best be described as melodic, euphoric and sometimes acidic Goatrance with a lot of different influences. Alex is also one of the label mangers of « Goa Madness records » For this showcase, Alex will present some tracks from his upcoming album "Another Place On Earth" that will be released this autumn blended with some of his classics! Track List Played: 01: Ephedra - 3000 Emotions 02: Ephedra - Dissapearing dreams 03: Ephedra - Friday Cosmos 04: Ephedra - Kick Out The Pain 05: Ephedra - Deep Inside Feelings 06: Ephedra - They've Arrived 07: Ephedra - Experiments 08: Ephedra - Vertigo Ephedra Links & Social Media: Facebook | Instagram | Soundcloud MOON BEASTS [Goa Madness Recs] BE So, what's "Moon Beasts" you ask? Well, besides being nightmarish monstrosities living on the dark side of the Dreamlands' moon, it's also the name of a collaboration project between Alexandre Cohen (that's Ephedra), and Jerome Lesterps (a.k.a Proxeeus), respectively from Belgium & France. They decided to join forces a couple of years ago, first by making a collaboration track (which ended up being featured on Ephedra's 3rd album), and when they were asked to perform a complete collaborative set in Portugal earlier in 2019, they decided to take things up a notch and transformed this into a full-blown music project. What's to expect then ? My, ya'll are a curious bunch. The general idea is to obviously make a blend of both styles, with Ephedra’s floaty, melodic side bringing some kind of balance to Proxeeus’ more aggressive sound, which should result in something greater than the sum of its parts. According to Proxeeus though, it’s simply a plot to prevent Ephedra from making fluffy stuff and to bring him to the Dark Side (because we’ve got cookies over there, yo). What’s the right answer, We’ll let you decide for yourself. Now, if you’re willing, we’ll shut up, and let the music speak for itself. Beastly yours, In This Showcase, Moon Beasts will present some of the new tracks from their upcoming releases! Track List Played: 01: Moon Beasts - Aquilon 02: Moon Beasts - On The Prowl 03: Moon Beasts - Separate Species 04: Moon Beasts - Waiting For Change 05: Moon Beasts - Demon Star 06: Moon Beasts - Darker Territories 07: Moon Beasts - Jupiter 19 08: Moon Beasts - Escaping The Plague Moon Beasts Links & Social Media: Facebook | Soundcloud | Instagram Goa Madness Records - Social Media - Links - Music: Website | Twitter | Facebook | Youtube | Soundcloud | Instagram | Bandcamp | Discogs | Beatport Thanks for listening... Expect a combination of the best of what those 2 artists are used to deliver with some unexpected twists & turns. In short... Pure Goatrance for your ears! The madness continues... 5. Artist: Pete & Pan Title: Return Of The Goddess Label: Goa Madness Records Date: November 27, 2019 1. Serra Del Estrela 2. Elysian Fields 3. passing Spirits 4. Tantric Tweak, 5. The Fool 6. Abundance 7. Nowhere 8. Solstice 9. Muse (Bonus Track) Peiter, will you tell me a story? I’ll do better than that for you Peiter, we are going to make one together Pieter Goessens & Pieter van den Broeck make up Pete & Pan. If you haven't watched the Goa Madness interview with these fella's go and do so to get an idea of what they are all about. Alternatively you can take my word for it that they are all about having a fun and bringing enjoyment to the world. And if you know about Goa Madness Records then you probably know that they pretty much only release well produced psychedelic Goa albums. Taking this into account you can expect a well produced psychedelic Goa trance album that is almost filled to the brim with good times and positive story telling. The feel good aspect of this album is something I haven't heard since listening to Spiritual Healing. ~ Serra Da Estrela Good intro's are the most wonderful little gift that makes an album so much better. Serra Estrela has Astrix level Shamanic Tale vibes and does the trick of transporting you to another world like nothing else. The baseline is deadly and the magical atmospheres carry you through to a large vibrant melody that pick you up and take you higher and higher if you let it. Elysian Fields An anthem for all the teenage boys and girls out there that could never get some. A perfect mix of despondent teenage insecurity floats around positive future outlooks. If Elysian Field (Which is perfectly titled) does not pull an adolescent from their glum self pity into a mood terrorized by hope and positivity then nothing but time will. There is a playful little surprise for us further down the line that turns into a gamechanger for the track. Passing Spirits I like the vocal samples here. They all fit in really well and remind me of old 90's vocal trance that I used to hear in my friends old gym. Body Pump in North Australia circa 2005 is written all over this track. 8 bit sounds can also be found around Passing Spirits as can some key changes that almost always leave me feeling cheated. This time is no different but I find it easier to get over it and move on to my continued enjoyment of the track. The wicked first act sets the scene for the rest of the track that is The Fool. The smooth leads form into a smooth melody that travels around the void calmly juxtaposed against a dirty bassline and kickdrum. The two take turns with your attention and build a glitter spangled storyline Tantric Tweak Cool title and another cool intro comes as no surprise. If you want a track that builds and builds and builds then this might be the track for you. The explosion of feel good vibes wrapped up in a wide melody makes you want to stroll where rays of sunshine can surround you in warmth the way that Tantric Tweak warms you from the inside. Darker atmospheres crawl out of the intro to Abundance but quickly get buddied up next to some playful positivity. The track builds and builds into something almost unrecognizable to the beginning. Absolutely incredible story telling that has so far remained impossible to not get lost in. Nowhere Melodies of raw sugar screech across your brain and etch themselves into it. Behind that you have a melodies begging you to throw your arms out to the side to glide on euphoria. Solstice Starting energetic and full of playful potential as can be expected with these bubbas. Here you're gonna get more twists, just as many feel good melodies and scorching raw leads of nuclear fusion. Muse (Bonus Track) It's been a long time since ive sat through such a purposefully uplifting banger. Muse is the sort of track you close a magical festival experience with, leaving everyone full of bliss and peace. A favourite from the album for it's pure emotional power. ~ Goa Madness continue their selection of hand crafted, top quality maestro produced Goa Trance. The production quality here is on par with Hypnoxocks Eurythmia, everything is polished, clean & purposeful. Each Track is a story and each finishes far away from where it starts. Listen to your album however you want, but try as many different ways as possible, back to forth, front to back, on shuffle. each time you get a different perspective and a different journey. Some of the track in Return Of The Goddess are the sort of music The Muses Rapt should have been producing in 2019. Well Pieter & Pieter have taken the torch and given us something that is so delightful I'm scared of listening to it too much. If Pieter & Pieter are going to go to the effort of releasing this piece of wonder then i'll face my fears and listen to this album till my heart is content. This album is certainly going into my top 10 for 2019 and something I'll be bumping every time I need a little extra aural love in my life. Thank you Goa Madness and all of the Pieters involved in this project. https://goamadnessrecordsofficial.bandcamp.com/album/return-of-the-goddess
  6. Proxeeus, aka Jerome Lesterps from France, has been elucidating the goa scene for a while now. His free debut album At The Mountains of Madness was a raw interlude of his potential. The second statement Weird Tales surprised many of us with a fantastic progression in song structure and production it its entirety compared to the debut. He was getting better and better. After that Proxeeus appeared on a number of compilations with stellar tracks such as Cthulhu Lives (Lotus) and Me, myself, and a Gnop-keh (Elan Vital). These tracks unveiled the new sound of Proxeeus where he far supersedes what he has done in the past (and that was already very good). We got more melodies, more travelling and more energy. On december 21st 2018 his 3rd album was released, Non-Euclidean Geometry on Goa Madness Records. Many goa fans were looking forward to this end-of-year climax. And .... Proxeeus delivers with a bang! Title: Non-Euclidian Geometry Arist: Proxeeus Label: Goa Madness Records (Belgium) Released: December 21 2018 Format: CD and Digital Tracklist: 1. Liber Ivonis 10:15 2. Ephraim Waite 10:25 3. What the Red Glare Meant 08:42 4. The Hounds of Tindalos 10:02 5. Down the Six Thousand Steps 08:27 6. The Unnamable 09:55 7. Old Keziah 11:13 8. Yog-Sothoth is the Gate 09:23 9. And Madness Followed (BONUS TRACK) Proxeeus' tracknames are influenced by the fantasy stories of author H.P. Lovecraft. He wrote about other worlds and aliens so much bigger and smarter than humans, we couldn't even begin to understand it. No soft mellow intro here, Liber Ivonis immediately gets the goa vibe going with so much melodies and kicking bass. It's a train that never stops. If you are looking for acid, just leave the album playing, because the second bliss Ephraim Waite is all that and more! Acid, more acid, and even more acid!! Intertwined with lovely warm synth melodies this track is a blaster. And the clarity of the sounds, wow, I can almost touch them. What the red glare meant thrives on a sort of hollow sound and starts a tad darker. But the majestic synths are back to take over. As a treat Proxeeus creates a metallic acid sound, Emmanuel Top like, like techno on speed. Very night-ish psychedelic stuff right here. The finale is super trippy. Proxeeus means business, and continues this bulldozer of an album with The hounds of Tindalos, a synth loaded and darker sounding track with acid blips in the back making you crazy. Hell, there is even an epic melody finishing with synths/acid mixed together to give an unforgettable dancefloor experience. Down the Six Thousand steps begins lighthearted but transforms rather quick in a dark monster where Proxeeus decides to take the aggressiveness up a notch. Next up is the liquid track The Unnamable. Liquid because of the sounds and the organic feel of it. Each minute we hear a new journey, but they flow flawlessly into each other. From warm to harsh and back to warm. Old Keziah is total immersion in Proxeeus land. Pulsating synths and acid fly around. How he creates the screaming climax is pure genius. The last track of the physical cd is Yog-Sothoth is The gate. Futuristic goa trance with sweet and banging melodic synth lines. The progression throughout the track is great again. Nothing feels monotonous, not predictable at all. That's the catch. And the fact that you know you're getting a great ending is so rewarding and pleasant. A joyful bonus track And Madness Followed is granted in the digital version on bandcamp. A 10 minute long odyssey to get all those goa brains melting on the dancefloor is the cherry on the cake. What a demolition track. We made it! Sooooo: The album is extremely coherent sound- and structure wise. You can listen to one track and be blown away, but the whole album is such an experience that you have to listen to it in its entirety. And appreciate it in its full length. The production quality is superb and not one single sound is out of place. Every track takes you on a journey to a parallel universe. Proxeeus is at the forefront of goa trance and this album is his magnum opus. Well, maybe until the next one. Who knows what comes next?? Jerome has much more to show us, I'm sure. Art like this only comes along once in a while. E-Mantra's Arcana, Artifact303's Back To Space, and now Proxeeus' Non-Euclidian Geometry. You nailed it, mister. Hats off. 9. Artist : JaraLuca Album: Fata Morgana Label: Goa Madness Records Release date: October 12, 2017 Tracks: 01 Artha - Mahabharta (JaraLuca Remix) 02 JaraLuca - Solar Spectrum 03 JaraLuca - 604 Caliber 04 JaraLuca - Acidic Goacamole 05 JaraLuca - Just A Little Madness 06 JaraLuca - Fata Morgana 07 JaraLuca - Equilibrium 08 Lectro Spektral Daze - Quite A Trip (JaraLuca Remix) 09 JaraLuca - One Day In Cosmos If you count the number of reviews in this 2017 section, it is scarce if you compare it to earlier years. Some say it hasn't been a good year for goa, but I think a lot of quality albums and releases have seen the light of day this year. We had the unexpected and amazing Hypnoxock album (still have to comment there) that came out of nowhere and many others. Next in line, but certainly not least, hell no!, is JaraLuca from Poland. Fata Morgana is JaraLuca's 2nd artist album, released on Goa Madness records, which is catching up big time. His first album was Perpetuum Mobile of which I remember star tracks such as Existence, Minds Circus and Insomnia. The rest I have forgotten, sorry to say. But here we have Fata Morgana. With beautiful artwork. Every track oozes goa from start to finish. The opening track is easy, nothing too phrenetic. An easy start, but no peak timer. Second up we have Solar Spectrum which gradually takes it up a notch but doesn't quite explode. Goa is there, but it's not immersive. Anyway, we are warmed up. These two tracks are solid! Brace yourselves, because play time is over and JaraLuca unleashes all his devils from now on. 604 caliber, Acidic Goacamole (haha, what a title man!), Just a little madness and Fata Morgana are crafted near perfection. I find myself in a whole different universe while listening to these goa monsters. Always changing, acidic, energetic,... just the way you expect them to go. This is the real deal here. Beautiful sounds, very clear but most importantly a story to go crazy on! Equilibrium could have been a bit crazier and daring, but it's still solid goa. A remix is supposed to take a track to a whole new level or to use a different approach. Exactly what JaraLuca does to Lektro Spectral Daze's "Quite A Trip". A remix so good it already ended up on LSD's latest album in 2016. Better than the original if you ask me. Wider, spacier, better. The, almost obligatory, downtempo closing track fulfils my satisfaction as my mind can come to ease in a decent yet hypnotic way. What an outstanding job by JaraLuca! He has grown so much in production and story telling. This album makes me smile all the way because it is such crazy good smashing goa trance. How do you make this stellar music? It remains a mystery to me! I'm having so much fun listening to it and that's what it's all about. I can't wait to see him live one day in Belgium. Amazing music. What an effort! I salute you, Mr. JaraLuca. Buy links: Goa Madness Records bandcamp Psyshop
  10. OUT NOW! Goa Madness Records is proud to present you the third full lenght album of Jerome Lesterps aka Proxeeus: Non Euclidean Geometry! This piece of art will take you on a journey through Proxeeus deepest (and weirdest) toughts. Growling acid sounds, Screaming leads, strongly oldschool goa influenced grooves and highly sci-fi influenced atmospheres will kick you into outerspace to discover the hidden worlds of his mind. Even though Jerome is staying loyal to the musical style of his previous releases, you will notice a more deeper and melodical approach in this new opus. The madness continues! 14. Artist: Various Title: Evolutive Perceptions Label: Goa Madness Records Date: November, 2015 1. Omnivox - A Part of Change 2. Space Elves - Bitter and Twisted 3. Asmik - Shimmering Onexta 4. Ohm Mind & Proxeeus - Shiva Awakens 5. Jaraluca - Illumination 6. Arcane Voice - Infinite Amount of Energy 7. Cosmic Dimension - The Dark Matter 8. Nova Fractal & E-mantra - Butterfly Effect 9. Ephedra - Winter Breaker "My little parties wouldn't be the same without you!" "Man...he's acting like a maniac. What did he take?" "Nothing, he just asked for a Fresca." I used to love to go to parties. Get smashed out of my mind and dance with any lady of the moment hoping to have a story to tell the next day. What a pig I was. Goa Madness is a label that as of yet hasn't had that many releases, but each release has been marked by quality. No exception here. This album is over a year old and deserves it's own review thread. It's melodic and entrancing with names you know and a few you don't. Some of the tracks are lush and atmospheric and most have nimble cat-quick leads that move as if on hot coals. Standouts include the floating A Part of Change by Omnivox and the thick and chunky blaster Illumination by Jaraluca. The latter comes at you in waves and the 2nd half is scorching. The Dark Matter is another take no prisoners rocker while the Nova Fractal / E-mantra collaboration was a little disappointing. Good track, but when you put two heavyweights like them together I expected more sparks. I enjoyed this compilation as it contained zero filler. Nothing groundbreaking (what is these days?) just solid goa trance. Overall another great release by this label and worth a spot in your collection. Beatspace Psyshop
  15. OUT NOW! Goa Madness Records is very proud to present you the 2nd album of Ephedra: «Flying Over The Universe»! After the success of his first album «Journey Through My Head» and after nearly 2 years of hard work, Alexandre Cohen is back with 9 powerfull tracks to fill your brain and body with euphoric melodies, crazy acid lines and spacy atmospheres... The album starts with «Connected Beings», a very oldskoolish track that assures a smooth start of this release. The slower tempo, distorted acids and efficient lead works will definitely put you in condition for what will happen next. The remix of the masterpiece «The Entity» brings you the deep E-mantra sounds, blended with some more euphoric elements to deliver a completely new and surprising version of this piece of art. «Supreme», «This is The Truth» and «Citric Storm» delivers the typical Ephedra sounds and will for sure become some serious dancefloor stompers! “Extraterrestrial life” is a more intense and acidic experience. The crispy analog acid lines and screaming leads deliver an explosive cocktail to distort your brain with very high frequencies. You are warned! «Moro Rock» and «Melosomnia» are keeping the perfect balance between groovy basslines and postive melodies, while «Final Flight Over The Universe» closes this album with more deeper sounds and emotional feelings... We wish you a pleasant flight over the universe and as always... Enjoy the madness! Jurassic Attack AGNETON *Sitting on toilet typing review on phone* Dude, what si...si... "D-E! D-E!! Motherf*cker why won't you type D-E!?!" Great so now I can't finish my review while I'm on the hopper. I'm trying to multitask but wordpad on the Samsung is making that a tad difficult. Hit the fan. Oh aliendna99 didn't your mother ever teach you if you don't have anything nice to say, say it with gifs? See? See...it's not so fun to wear the cone of shame is it? But why so abrubtly negative? Was your jacket covered in minus signs still at the dry cleaners? I'm poking fun and he is entitled to his opinion as we all are. One thing we share is a love of goa trance so I figure the more labels that decide to release it the greater chance for variety. And we all win when that happens right? I've ripped Goalogique for their first two compilations as I felt they were subpar so I suppose that he's doing the same thing (although from his post it seems he did it from solely samples and we know how that can go), but I won't deny that label my support. This business is too hard. Now to be fair he's not calling them out because Goa Madness Records is a new label, but because he feels the music is just homogenous new school same old same old stuff. And to a certain degree he's correct. "Dude, what side are you on?" Both. None. Wigro I'm Switzerland. But I agree with his complaint kinda. If you're one of those who believe that goa trance these days sounds like it's churned out like processed food (it's not) then you probably won't have many positive things to say about this release. It certainly isn't going to rewrite the "formula" for goa trance production. But you know what not many do. The compilation opens with an absolute ripping track by Ephedra and Omnivox. Pure class. I really enjoyed Ageneton's high energy track and Psychoactive is one of the best tracks ever to come from Liquid Flow in my opinion. And the Merr0w and Radical Distortion tracks? Thick melodies and piercing leads that lend themselves to maximum twirling. The only one I wasn't thrilled with was the Asmik track. The key change didn't sit well with me and at almost 9 minutes it felt twice that. Still not bad at all for their very first track. If you're looking for goa trance this compilation is quite good. Leads scream with bite and it's very danceable. The sound quality is also fantastic. Wait a minute...what was the problem again? Well worth my money and a great debut compilation. Great job Goa Madness crew! Psyshop Beatspace Mdk
