  1. Almost a month passed by and nobody on this forum took the time to review Suntrip Records latest, released 20 april 2012: Crossing Mind - Innershift It is a shame, because damn, this album is god! This is one of the things I search in Goa Trance! I'm not going to do a track by track review yet, my advice is to listen to it in one go. 1. The Unenlightened Perspectives 09:10 2. Solarium 09:09 3. Modulated Self Reminders 09:27 4. Magnetic Fields of Life 08:46 5. Elastic Harmonies 09:49 6. No Way Wrong (2011 rmx) 09:20 7. Plutonia 09:27 8. Optronic Circles (Inner Shift mix) 08:13 All these songs have a wonderful story to tell. Each song starts of slow and before you know it you find yourself in psychotic melody trance heaven. Stephane always seems to take you on journey where you close your eyes, shut your mouth, dance until your feet bleed, your mind is cleared and then filled with all kind of emotions. The only thing that counts is floating in this infinite space of love and letting every note and sound tickle your body, mind and soul. It should be said that Inner Shift is less psychotic and direct then The Holograffic Paradigm. Inner shift has a more subtle deep feel about it. The best track is of course Elastic Harmonies (mod 2). When I first heard this song on his soundcloud, it dropped like a bomb... And it still does... It makes me want to go crazy in a happy way! So far my feelings about this album. Highly recommended! 2. Artist: Xamanist Album: Out of Time Label: SY Records Artwork: Peter Paxx Release date: September 16th 2019 Samples: Out of Time samples Buy it here: Out of Time on Beatport I have the pleasure and the excitement to announce that my third album "Out of Time" is out now, released by SY Records on Beatport! 3 years of work and inspiration concluded into 9 diverse tracks that navigate to, from and between the realms of goa, psychedelic and progressive trance. In every track I experimented something diferent: diverse approaches, sounds and structures. On some of them I consciously intended to target a more oldschool goa aesthetic, on others I let the stories translate into a more modern sound, without any rule other than personal taste and enjoyment. I hope the thrill that envolved this album's making passes through the music to you in a joyfull way! As always I welcome any feedback and I thank the time you dedicate to listen to my music. Enjoy
  3. Artist: Barmohak Title: Adrenochrome Label: Timewarp Records Date: July 26, 2019 Tracklist:- 1. Adrenochrome 2. Astral Life 3. Infinite Circle One of Timewarp's rising talents releases his 4th EP on the Label. When I first saw Mamomam Records release the Neogenia EP I was secretly wondering why it wasn't a Barmohak EP mostly due to him standing out the most in production style. Standing out isn't always a good thing, Like a clothed guy on a nude beach, or a nude guy on a clothed beach, a nude guy in a Mcdonalds play land or a Chinese flag waver in Hong Kong, then maybe i'd want to blend in a little better. Luckily if for Barak Steinberger, standing out doesn't have too many downsides in the music industry. His music is louder than most other Timewarp artists with leads that blast at you and weave them selves in and out of melodies. The beginning of Adrenochrome gives you an idea of what I mean. The track is pretty decent, there are moments when you want a reprieve from the onslaught but overall there are more good parts than not. Astral Life gets closer to a pure success with more variation and multiple melodies that find connections with one another throughout the song. All the layers do feel about as loud as each other, if I had to criticise I would say send some stuff to the background to be psychedelic there. A cool fast and wild track nonetheless that any dancefloor could get down to. When we reach Infinite Circle we bounce between extremely enjoyable parts to sections to high pitched melodies (Like 6:00) that don't quite fit as well IMO. The triplets are a cool touch and the last 2 minutes are awesome. A decent EP by an Artist with a lot of potential. I've watched some videos of his parties and the crowd really gets down to the tunes, which is a better test of his music than my opinion. My opinion coming all the same: If some more work went into creating extra depth in each track we would have a real winner, the music is creative, not timid, and full of great moments that never become boring, in fact boring is the last word I would use to describe Barak's music. But throw a little deepness into the mix, bring some of the layers down a notch OOOOHBOY that could be the secret for at home listening pleasure. As far as parties goes, there doesn't seem like much reason to change. https://timewarprecords.bandcamp.com/album/barmohak-adrenochrome-timewarp123-timewarp
  4. Artist: The Maniac Title: Birth Of Time Label: Self-released Date: July 3, 2019 Tracklist:- 1. Procreating the Universe 2. Birth Of Time 3. Cosmogenesis 4. Abode Of The Clouds The Maniac is one of my favourite artists to follow. Not only do we get a consistent stream of releases, those very releases showcase a jump in talent time after time. Ranging from the free, to the inexpensive, to money well spent, This guy is starting to deliver big time. I'm currently in Indonesia and can say that this release brings me far more joy than the $20 pair of bright yellow cartier sunglasses that I got yesterday. Those mother fafa's just make everything brighter, but in a, you about to squint more than what you did before laying down that 200,000 rupiahs sort of way. Wearing these wackers just made my life harder. Incidentally, The Maniac also made everything brighter, but in a, press play and watch your brain come alive with shapes and colours sort of way. Throw this album on and ride your Honda scooter at max speed down the highway while dodging tourist patrol sort of way. Procreating The Universe has some big loud zooms that synthesis your mind while the usual crazy leads that could wake Proxeeus Cthulthu reincarnate up on a sunday morning. Birth of Time follows the style with some big zips that the most advanced ear candling ceremony couldn't wipe from your mind. It's bright sunshine that I would be dancing too if it wasn't so damn hot right now. I wouldn't have minded a change in the lead tone as it ends up feeling like longer than 9.37 minutes but its fun while its fun. Cosmogenesis Comes in with a different and exciting intro that eases you slowly into a trance, when the leads hit they hit like a 7 seater Diahatsu that just saw the tide retract 300 metres from the shore. The leads in this track are doing exactly what i wanted them to do in the last one. A great track with some nice paino-esc synth work. For a moment you get the impression that The Maniac is going to chill out a bit. The title, the intro, but not the artist. No sirs & ma'ams. This is my favourite on the list, a track to put your arms out and float through the universe of Javanese flavours, the Nebula's of Sumatran short ribs, and wormholes of soft Rendang. Less intense but still there with the leads that make you the same old phrase 'How the F^ck did he do those on a phone'? For only 50,000 Rupiahs what are you waiting for? Give it a spin and support a talent on a trajectory to greatness. https://themaniac1.bandcamp.com/album/birth-of-time
  5. Highly recommended for those of you who enjoy listening to goa and psy on vinyl records and want the absolute best in fidelity. I use a DBX 3BX series ii which is a 3 band expander that processes dynamic range expansion independently across three seperate frequency bands. Dynamic range expansion attenuates the volume of quiet sounds below a given threshold and makes them sound quieter while boosting loud passages to sound louder. The expansion of the difference in volume of the signal is key to making it sound like live music and not a compressed mp3 played on a clock radio. I have to mention the reduced surface noise and wider stereo image being some of the benefits of adding one in your system. Combined with a graphic equalizer and subharmonic synthesizer which processes the lowest frequency and the notes played in the incoming signal and synthesises the the same notes but in a frequency 50% lower and re introduces them back into the signal. This gives a low end that you feel more than hear.. DBX gear is highly recommended

Mindsphere - Hidden Depth 07:24 27. Artifact303 - Contact 08:18 28. Psy-H Project - Krishna or Maya 15:54 29. Fiery Dawn - Magma 03:51 30. Liquid Flow - Event Horizon 06:18 31. Katedra - Evolutionary Stream 09:03 32. Fiery Dawn - Starlight 06:35 33. Slow Reflections - In a Rain Drop 10:07 34. Artifact303 - Delirium (Downward Spiral) 07:37 I owe it to Global Sect to review this piece. Least of my reasons being that I accidentally bought this album twice...Not a cheap album, but Tsotsi must have assumed he hadn't bought it and just panic purchased to listen to on the plane to Thailand. Another reason this review had to happen was because I just had to tell the world how much I loved some of the tracks on the compilation. The best of which I believe was Sykespico's, the arrangements, change of acts, power, melodies. The entire composition blew me away. followed closely by Javi and Skooma's utter chaos of a track. Holy shit, there is a very fine line between over doing it, and frivolously swaying on the edge of that canyon. Javi & Skooma just created brining the edge with them as they jump across that line. This song is absolute madness from start to finish and probably one of the biggest risks on the compilation. Psy-H went balls deep in Gaura Nitay. Although a little repetitive at times when the peaks of the track hit they are good. Atlantis comes out with some proper beauty. Following the theme of the album of floaty dreamy space trance, I could have had more of that mantra but at the same time it broke me out of my daze when she came in, I didn't realise how deep in the track I'd fallen. Centevra Project do their job of introducing the theme of the album. Nothing amazing but the perfect opener to get us ready for more. They follow the theme of the album as they continue to pop up in other energised space acid tracks across the album...Obviously, they fit the composition perfectly (Maybe they even picked all the tracks ). Alienapa come in strong with 2 tracks. Are you mad being my favourite but only because I listened to 'night train' so many times when trying to figure out if I would pre-order the album or not and they new melody was appreciated. 'Ascension' by Raving Universe does just that, Ascends me to planets far beyond the terraformed inhabited planets of this albums. The track takes it times but it definitely gets you there, space travel aint fast my friends. Cosmic dimensions remix of Man With no Name's 'possessed' was the first track I listened to when I purchased this (The first purchase). Once again I haven't done my homework. I just finished Uni thats why Mom! So na, I aint heard the original, but the way people talk about MWNN I gotta assume he was special. I can imagine this back in the day, fucking amazing I'm sure. Well, Cosmic D has Done the old fliparoon on this one. Yes mam's and sir's he nailed it, by all rights I gotta assume he placed the old 'we are in space now trance dancer's' on top of it and I loved it. Awesomely produced and a great song all round. <---- Not true, there were no showers, this compilation is long Lets make it shorter to get me into one though. The rest of the tracks, and the entire albums is the sort of compilation you can play at anytime to get that particular style of trance. I'm starting to associate Global Sect with it, although I know the style aint new. Play it on shuffle at any point when that you feel like travelling to outta space, when you wanna get away from this goddamn planet and go see some funkier terraformed ones. Where the people will go in the year 2632 living a life of dance on the planets around what is, in that part of the galaxy, known as the trance dancers cluster. The grooviest section of outer space. . . Pick your planet. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Thats it, thats the review. This is an 'Album' review not a 'Every song on the album' review. It's good my friends. Its not groundbreaking or challenging the genre, but it is cementing and defining it. A good compilation by all means. Listen in sections if you have too. But I promise, each song has its thing and stands apart from the others if you pay attention. Call it what you want, this is Goa, the greatest orchestrated arrangement of modern times and Global Sect have gone to a lot of work to collect these for us. Well done and thanks. To Javi, Skooma, & Sykespico. I potentially have another 79 years of life ahead of me, maybe more, would appreciate you continuing your crafts for the 50 years of that, that I'll be able to hear for. Ive taken the advice of Gfp1 and started blasting music on the newly acquired Bowers & Wilkins 600 series 3 stereo speakers and 2 subwoofers, on level 3 off an apartment. . . Fuck the neighbours . . . When they complain I'm telling them that 'someone on forum said I should'. https://globalsect.bandcamp.com/album/va-terraformer

    Va - 303 Syndroms

Artist: Various Title: 303 Syndrom Label: Mamomam Records Date: 10/10/2018 1. Hypnoxock - Heaven Can't Wait 2. Clementz - Medistajon 3. Median Project -Â Space Monkeys 4. Goad - Entranced 5. Jaraluca - The Ektoplazm 6. Omneon -Â Power of the Ori 7. Artha - Hall-Lux 8. Proxeeus - Suydam 9. Toxeed - Milky Way (Bonus Track) What a month for music. We've been blessed and cursed with a great set of October releases. Blessed because they all rock. Cursed because we must not only buy them all, but find the time to listen to this sweet sweet music coming our way. But I'm on holiday, so I have time and will I use it constructively? Learn a new skill, read a book, write a resume so I can apply for a job? That would be great, but you know whats better than all that? You do, I know you do, 9 Blistering tracks compiled by Mr Jaraluca. If that's not enough to stir up the hornet's nest within then just take a second look at that artwork. Still not cracking a woody? Surely that line up is all you need. Heaven Can't Wait - It can't, or maybe it can. I mean I thought I couldn't wait when i saw Hypnoxock opening this comp, but here I am. Wait I did and boy am i glad about that. An ominous intro leads quickly into a melody and some vocals then woah holy heck this becomes a great track. I still think that most tracks from Eurythmia are better than his singles but that probably has more to do with it being a masterpiece than anything. Still a good track. Medistajon - No autocorrect there, we aren't trying to spell meditation. Clementz is here with fat kicks and melodies that take you higher and higher. Balancing between light and dark for the duration of a track ain't always easy, but you wouldn't know it here. Space monkeys - Whether that's a kookaburra or a monkey really isn't important here. Median has done the usual and come in hot. That explosion after the breakbeat is incredible. This track takes you and Cappuccino the Capuchin directly through nebulas. Entranced - Goad takes us into cosmic space land which really is the most wonderful place to get Entranced. But with under 8 minutes and no real climax I feel like I just got dropped off at the edge of space and left there. The Ektoplazm - Jaraluca picks up where he left off with his last album. Only he got a little wilder, a lil more cray with the same Jaraluca full flavored spice. Very nice track. Power of the Ori - A nice spacetime banger that really take off at the 5 minute point. Man I love that moment. Raw leads and acid take center stage as Omneon marches us into battle with the full power of the Ori behind us. Hall-Lux - Did he just? Is this song the? How did he? ARTHA IS BAAAACK!! What ever he has been up to its well worth the wait. I'm saying my favourite track of the year so far. Clean screeching leads, melodies and perfect direction changes. A little bit of classic Artha dancing around a modern new sound Artha. Every element of this track is done to absolute perfection. I can only say nice pretty things. Suydam - After his track on the Va - Lotus, I really can't do anything to contain my excitement by seeing his name on a lineup. I don't need a reminder why but if I did this track would be it. While I'd probably dislocate my shoulder trying to keep up with this. Milky way (bonus track) - Do you like digital album bonus tracks? As some one who only buys digital it never really feels like a bonus track, feels more like, a track. But I'm not complaining. Another track! The comps not over! And boy am I happy about that. Toxeed comes in fast and hard with some great story telling and really cool melodies. Now I have to go and listen to his older works, I've been turnt. I'd absolutely lose my marbles if I heard this on a dancefloor. More bonus tracks! What a goshdang goddang ride. There are so many good tracks on this compilation that every time I think I have a favourite another comes along and steals my attention. While 604 Syndroms felt more dance floor friendly and spacious, 303’s is mostly space fuelled and a great homage to the instrument that made this genre what it is. I'm hoping more people purchase this to encourage more Goa comps from Mamomam. Well done to all the artists, Jaraluca and Mamomam records on what will probably be the 1st or 2nd best comp of the year. https://mamomamrecords.bandcamp.com/album/va-303-syndroms
  12. Artist: E-Mantra Title: Tartarus Label: Melusine Date: February 2019 Format: DIgital 1. Solomonar 06:40 2. Tartarus 07:50 3. Dark corners of the Universe (Neurosect Chaotic Mix) 07:46 4. Wrath of the nomads (Live Version) 08:26 5. Baktun Vision Serpent 05:33 Out of the blue E-Mantra is back with a full blown goa release/EP. What's new here? Many things. The new tracks on this EP show a new side of E-Mantra. E-Mantra 2.0 if you wish. More structure, new sounds, still E-Mantra. Just a tad different. Solomonar delights with a pounding intro and heads up to the tiny break at 3.40. From then on it builds again upto a stunning climax. Fluid and organic. Wonderful. The hollow synths in the beginning of Tartarus are addictive and very original. The bassline is one of the most clear and cutting basslines I've ever heard. E-Mantra really puts a stamp on his tracks now, and that's different. The tracks have a personality. The track shoots acid in space as it goes on. The orgasmic stuff is reached around 5.20 and it's stunning! What a satisfactory track. Nothing but fun. Pure fun! The hollow synths from the beginning interlude the end. Wow. Next up is the Neurosect remix of Dark Corners Of The Universe. Although it's a fine remix, the full-on'ish bassline kills it for me. I'll prefer the original at any time. Wrath Of The Nomads is the Live version of the track found on the album Nemesis. I can't really hear the difference between the album version. But that can be me. Goa is already complex. It's difficult to find subtle differences. Still a fantastic track though. Baktun Vision Serpent is the last track and also a new fresh one. The galloping psy bassline scares me first, but gradually the track is nicely built around it. Then classic E-Mantra is back to build a spacey goa journey. Pure trance in the end. The first two tracks is why this release is remarkable. E-Mantra plays with other knobs and layers and it works so well. More structure, more climaxes. I don't know if this is a sign or not, but I hope it's the beginning of more E-Mantra. Very well done! Peace brother. Bandcamp buy link

  17. Acid Destroyers is the new project between Ohm Mind (Belgium) and Laughing Space Devil (Switzerland), who are two producers of Goa Trance since many years. This project began in 2016 in Switzerland before one of the parties at the famous Havanna Club in Altdorf. They meet each other a lot to produce, as the first experiments resulted in already 1 hour of good music. You can expect a lot of acid lines with some twisted trance melody and evil atmosphere. They have released an EP on spacedock records with 3 tracks since the 15.05. https://spacedockrecords.bandcamp.com/album/sddg016-acid-destroyers-monsters-and-mad-man-ep Tracklist : 1. 19. Hi everyone, psynews. I am creating this post to some information about purchase. I have a lot of interest in starting my collection of physical CDs, but there is a problem ... today the current recorder sites only offer digital midia for purchase and download So I approach you lunatic Freaks by PSYTRANCE to absorb information from collectors. Could you tell me trustworthy and quality sites for buying my favorite physical CDs and artists?
  20. It's finally the time. http://www.arabesquedistribution.com/components/com_artistavenue/media/large_images/datcd012.jpg The triple album of Gangguru is something completely unexpected, a treasure from the past teleported right to the present. This music was preserved on DAT tapes by the band, and a couple of years ago the DAT Records team digitized it and with the help of the producers identified and sorted a multitude of storming Goa Trance tracks. These have been remastered and tested on dancefloors during this period and itís now time to unleash them to the future for everyone to have and enjoy. These tracks are potent DJ tools and were played all over back in the 90s, at least one DJ remembering the band's early productions being played in Goa in 1996. DAT Records is proud to present a spectacular selection of the best of the best from over a hundred tracks that the band produced in the 90s, and we are sure that many will remember these tracks from their partying times and others will delight in hearing these creations for the first time. The tracks have been wonderfully remastered and are ready to be played out loud at events for years to come, so have fun and enjoy the trippy and magical music of Gangguru! Be sure to get your original copy so you can read the incredible story of the band and the behind-the-scenes tales that emerged during an extensive interview. http://www.arabesquedistribution.com/index.php?option=com_artistavenue&task=singleCd&id=3843&Itemid=99999999 Release in September :)! PS: The first track is called Ramawai and not Ramawao, on the artwork of the release the title is correct, not sure why on Arabesque there is this mistake.
  21. Quick quick, before the end of the year a review of another Suntrip album must be written! Artist: Denshi Danshi Label: Suntrip Records Format: CD and Digital Released: October 19, 2018 Tracklist: 01. Parallel Universe (Original Mix) 08:28 02. Starjna (Original Mix) 08:58 03. Leave The World Behind (Original Mix) 09:55 04. Alpha Omega (Original Mix) 07:59 05. Blink Of An Eye (Original Mix) 07:41 06. Brain Chemistry (Original Mix) 09:31 07. Sukha (Original Mix) 10:12 08. Lemmon 714 (Original Mix) 07:33 09. The Upside Down (Original Mix) 08:37 Lovely title, lovely cover. Denshi Danshi are a duo from France. Earlier they released Fluid Dynamics with some older unreleased tracks. I admit that it didn't grab my attention. I wasn't in for the old sound. But here they deliver a modern goa album filled with some heavy dancing monsters. Parallel Universe uses screeching acid lines surrounded by a lush melodic atmosphere. Very trancy! A bright opener. Starjna starts with a rolling bassline. Without hesitating, goa melodies fly around. All parts of the song flow into one another so organic. Beautiful. Technically this is very strong. But also story-wise, it is very intriguing and pleasant. A bouncy track! Leave The World Behind has a darker forest-like bassline, less my style. The centre of the track involves real psychedelic goa melodies. Besides the gloomier bassline underneath, the song breathes power, light and dancing legs. It gets better and better near the end. Alpha Omega is a multi-layered bomb. Very acidic, uplifting and bubbly. It has it all. Again crisp production. Ace track. And very danceable. A tad darker is Blink Of An Eye. A linear track that goes for the hypnotic feel. Not mesmerizing, but will do the job on the floor. The title track Brain Chemistry has my love. This is pure trance. How the epic break is surrounded by goa elements is superb. The rest of the track oozes speed and energy. Sukha blesses us with a lovely and addictive heavy bassline throughout the whole track. Things get real psychedelic here. I would go completely mental when I would hear this at a party. The track runs for more than 10 minutes and offers a lot in that time. Very exciting and warm! The drop at 6:43 is funny as hell. Lemmon 714 is the easier track here. It's hard to be amongst all those other dancefloor stompers. Make no mistake, this is no resting track. But compared to the rest of the album, this one takes it easy. Not my favorite and not memorable, but good to slow it down a little before the end. The final track The Upside Down is again slower. Denshi Danshi goes for a soft landing. This is a very trancy track that will hypnotise you step by step. Good closing of the album. The way I sense it, there is no red line through this album, story- or structure-wise. That's not a bad thing though. All tracks display a clear beautiful sound and are made strictly for dancing. It's no cult or classic album, but when in need of a good and firm goa shot or some beats for in the car, pick a track and you're good to go. Or play this at home just before going to a party. It will get you all psyched up! I love it! Buy links Suntrip Records Bandcamp Beatport Psyshop

    Veasna - 5ynergy

Artist: Veasna Title: 5ynergy - 5th Anniversary EP Label: Self-released Date: December 1, 2018 1. Dreams 2. Mu Cephei 3. Discovery 4. Infrared 5. Chromatron Veasna is Patrick Dinklage, a trance music maker who among other things likes producing trance and letting people listen to it. I've heard it said that he balances between the old and the new like a complete champ. And no, I still haven't listened to Spectral flux (I'm waiting to buy it), so until now I haven't had much of an impression. But that all changes today. I put this bad boy on and ooh ah did i enjoy at least 4 of them. Dreams: I played this in the car first, now I've had problems with my car speakers before making some trance (Lectro Spektral) sound bothersome. They strike again with the white noise snare that comes in at 1:20. I stuck it out, and tried again on a bunch of headphones, still annoying but not painful, sounds like the noise the protogoa team decided to bury in 89. Every part of this track is great bar for that one sound that persists throughout the entire track. Mu Cephei: A super funky lead driven piece that doesn't run out of ideas. No sir this is pure floaty, happy trance, uplifting & fun. Discovery: The happy atmospheres get pushed away as something more ominous begins. the intro is cool, the kicks are beefed up, the bassline rides between layers smoothly. Then the leads come in, and the zippiness begins and takes us away. Infrared: This EP just keeps getting better and better. This track is craziness on heat, skittles on ice, stir-fry in Malaysia. You get it, its a good track, but it becomes AMAZING at the 4 minute mark. THICK leads come in and get swirled around by layers on layers. undoubtedly my favourite. Chromatron: So where to now? Oh whats that? You can make an equally as wild track as infrared but completely different? Lord take me. I can't even tell if Dinklage loops his sounds, his leads go on and on and on and then they change and do it all over again. A close 2nd favourite. This EP gets exponentially better as it goes on. each track is better than the last until it climaxes into a sticky mess of Goa fury. The last two tracks are what i'd recommend you buy this for, but you got a floaty number and a big basslined number too. It's a shame the digipack kickstarter project didn't get it's legs and run away with our money but on the 8th of february 1942 general Arthur Percival surrendered Singapore to Japanese forces, after already stating "In going to Malaya I .... finding myself involved in a pretty sticky business with the inadequate forces which are usually to be found in the distant parts of our Empire in the early stages of a war." He was forced to surrender with a white flag in the lead of his forces, captured, and upon release blamed as being ineffectual as a General. So things could be worse. Definitely recommend this EP. https://veasna.bandcamp.com/album/5ynergy-5th-anniversary-ep
