  1. https://themaniac1.bandcamp.com/album/path-of-the-aghori Another concept album about the journey a man must make to become an Aghori. This album is the spiritual successor to "Kaalratri" EP, 8 twisted tracks of twilight Goa Trance with squelching FM leads and badass acid lines. If you like your Goa Trance dark, fast and twisted, look no further! Tracklist: 1) Aghor - 165bpm 2) Balidan - 154bpm 3) Aham Brahmasmi - 156bpm 4) Smashana - 154bpm 5) Divine Madness - 158bpm 6) Left Hand Path - 160bpm 7) Jai Maha Kali - 155bpm 8) Moksha - 114bpm Bandcamp : https://themaniac1.bandcamp.com/album/path-of-the-aghori
  2. Artists: Various Title: organic Fractal Vol.1 Label: Shemballa Records Release: 1st March 2021 Compiled By: Royroy & Majinaor First release from new label who said fuck it, if Shamballa Records is taken, we will just be Shemballa Records. Hell yea, I feel that energy. Is there such a thing as too many labels? I wouldn't be so sure. With some familiar names to kick things off they got me on their side. Tracklist:- 1. Astrogano - Kind Of Redemption? 2. Sykespico - Energy Of The Universe 3. Quantum Dynamics - Apollo 4. Cypher - Rave Movement 5. Event Horizen - Letting Go 6. Fuzzonaut - Heykhan Ze Hadavar 7. GoAtmika - Came To Me In A Dream 8. Laughing Skull - Highway To Hell 9. Majinaor - Inspire The Liars New label on the scene who kicked things off with a pre-order. I like their confidence, they clearly have the channels to reach people who like good things. Only listened to the first two tracks so far but it's well mastered and tracks were fun. https://shemballarecords.bandcamp.com/album/organic-fractal-vol-1

  5. It's big, it's beautiful, it's Median Project - Constellation Artist: Median project Album: Constellation Label: Suntrip Records Release: May 20, 2019 Tracklist:- 1. Antidote 2. Mission Adept 3. It Is Not Possible 4. Infinite Space 5. On The Edge 6. Pandora's Box 7. Sand Of Time 8. Sunrise 9. The Constellation Of Aries This review is about what is in my opinion one of the most extraordinary release of modern Goa to date. An Album that encapsulates the cosmic tone of the genre in it's own unique and captivating way. Personally I can honestly say that only 3 or 4 other albums have ever granted me this much excitement, and none of those have been been in this style and this style is by far my favourite. This album is not another level, it is the level. If your brain converts sound into colours and shapes then this is going be one vibrant journey of electricity. The album art by ShivaOMArt really says it all as far as the spectrum of colours that you are going to be blasted through goes. You're going to experience warm rust pyramids filled with gold, strokes of amber splashed across azure temples and gas giants of cerulean creating reactions with scarlets. You might even spot some periwinkle In the distance. 'Yea yea, it sounds amazing but it's not a game changer' 'Sorry huh? What did you just? Not a game changer for whom good sir & madam?' It is certainly a game changer for Sergey who has advanced his skill to another level. The layers are as balanced as a spirit level placed by Vladimir Shukhov himself, the leads rip through the other sounds and at times dance around in prisms of energy above your head while at other times zip through your head taking you to star nebula's. Vocal samples nestle themselves neatly into tracks where they are placed, but it's really the other elements that make these tracks stand out. The dial tone in Mission Adept, the boombastic roar in It Is Not Possible & the unforgettable screeches for the first 4 minutes of Sand Of Time, my god even a 4 second sample of that track gives my brain dopamine thrush. The melody of Sunrise & The Constellation Of Aries make me drive exactly 4 kilometres over the speed limit with a huge smile on my face. It's all cosmic Goa, but not like you have heard before. Median Project has placed more emphasis on the moments that really make a track stand out, the introductions and outro's have been given more detail, the tracks have been filled with 'Bigger' sounds and more effort has been placed into introducing periphery sounds that make every listen unique. I have had this album since it's release, so I have had plenty of time to listen to it, the honeymoon period is over and I can with all certainty say that this production of art is up there with the greats of the genre and the broader spectrum of Psytrance. What Median Project has done is find a way to take cosmic goa up to the next stage of its evolution, I can consider this album an advancement towards the style that others (Hopefully) will build on. It does have all the NeoGoa elements that some people (Not Tsotsi) often find tiresome but the arrangements are what keep this exciting. For those of you that think that this genre has nothing new to add, crank this up when the sun goes down and prepare yourself for a visit to solar systems far away. As always I would like to thank Sergey for taking the time to deliver this masterpiece to us and making the world that much more colourful for it. His hard work really does pay off. Thanks to all others involved in the project including Suntrip for an interstellar addition to their catalogue. One Final word. The description of the album calls this Astral Projection meets Mindsphere, but I think we can surely agree that from now on this is pure Median Project an artist unto himself. https://suntriprecords.bandcamp.com/album/median-project-constellation
  6. So every now and then I travel back in time by means of revisiting old albums. Some of which many will agree upon as beeing essential and classics, something with a timeless appeal if you will. I often do so to see if they have aged gracefully and to see if nostalgia might've worn off. Some albums which were considered groundbreaking at the time might've lost some of the shimmer, but might still retain the compositional qualities which still makes them a joy to listen to. Others will still sound stellar, and one might argue not even beeing in need of remasters, due to how perfectly they were crafted. And then there's albums which will sound hopelessly dated. So my question is, what's your albums that have aged like a fine wine? And what albums are starting to really show their age? I will add some detailed examples of both as I revisit some classics. But for now I will say that the Infected Mushroom album Classical Mushroom, is still a damn funky album full of cool melodies and interesting sounds, it doesn't however sound as stellar mixwise as I remember it. It was very groundbreaking upon release, and much of it was probably due to how fresh and new it sounded stylewise as well as the additions of acoustic elements. These novelties are of course nothing unusual today so the initial wow-effect is somewhat dampened. A remaster might remedy some of this. The Hallucinogen Twisted album on the other hand I consider a splendid old wine, which I would highly recommend to any newcommer to this genre. It sounds as alien as ever, and the weird lysergic landscape it teleports your mind to is still unrivaled. The mixing and sound still to this day to my ears sounds fantastic, a very organic, living and breathing sound. It almost seems to me that some albums might have a shelf-life of perhaps 10 years, then they might start to sound dated, the true classics however thus far are still kicking it some 25 years later. So it begs the question as well, will they to become outdated some 25 years from now? Or will they stand the test of time until there is a new way of enjoying music in the future, which might not even be about recording/arranging music in the linear fashion we do today. We might be sipping on some drinks on mars listening to music on our Neuralink music players in our brains. With 3D music floating through our field of vision like a digital hallucination. Since we have seen an uptick in remasters over the last two decades, I will keep it open to add examples of remastered albums as well, as the remaster might have become old by now if it was remastered in the 00's for example. And besides sometimes the remaster in itself might reveal an old albums weakness. Or at other times you might not have enjoyed what the remaster did to an album and so for that reason skipped it, the puritan way so to say. Some might argue as well that certain albums should be appreciated in the vinyl format unmastered, just as they were intended. And at other times the remaster might've been just what the doctor prescribed and elevated an already stellar album to dizzying heights. Some examples that spring to mind in this category are some of the remastered albums released on DAT Records and Suntrip Records over the years, which were really good remasters, (Dimension-5, Crop Circles, Pleiadians etc). Since it was a long time ago now since the first wave of Neo Goa, the albums of that era are of course valid candidates to this thread as well. Ra - To Sirius is an album I plan to revisit, not sure if it needs a remaster or not. It always had a very plesant sound to me. Miranda - Northern Light still sounds ace to me, very good 90s mastering. I'm still curious about how it would sound remastered since the remastered collection of Miranda tracks released last year on Spiral Trax was really good.
  7. One in a thousand? No! This new release is really really good Don't miss their first release, a pure dream,... goa labels must and should support each other more As the manager of Cronomi Rec. I think this digital release really deserves a serious mention! Check it @ Deities-and-demons-records

  11. Chi-A.D. - Earth Crossing Amakusa Records Tracklist 1 Hammerhead 9:40 2 Black Light 8:02 3 Zero Barrier 9:11 4 X-Isle 9:52 5 Transparent Sea 9:34 6 Book Of Eden 9:25 7 Liquid Neon Sky 11:47 8 Blue Effect 11:13 Very good album throughout, that was finally brought to light thanks to Amakusa Records. Beautiful melodies and captivating atmospheres are the strong points of this album. One thing I don’t like in much of Chi-A.D.’s music is the excessive use of voice samples, which are fortunately nonexistent here. The melodies… ethereal, heavenly, elevating, I really like them, they’re just my cup of tea. Not your typical eastern melodies. I personally like melodic goa but I don’t really dig it when the eastern element is too prevalent. This album is hypnotic, dreamy, quite floaty without many twists, turns, or huge climaxes. That might be the downside in a couple of tracks, as they don’t seem to build up towards anywhere. But the music flows nicely, is well thought and trippy in a more “relaxing” way, with the melodies guiding you to otherworldly places. So, don’t expect full power goa that will make you stomp the ground. Favourites: Book of Eden, Liquid Neon Sky and X-Isle, but there is something to like in all tracks I think. Kudos to Amakusa for releasing another gem! 3/3 so far, I’m curious what will be next… Buy: https://www.discogs.com/sell/list?master_id=84610&ev=mb Or contact directly at: amakusa604@gmail.com

  13. Artist: Imba Artist: Liberation Label: Mamomam Records Date: Dec 5, 2019 Tracklist:- 1. Liberation 2. Imba & Hisia - Elysium Island (Imba Remix) 3. Imba & Lydia Del Ray - Dancefloor Stompers 4. Dimension 5 - Omega Centaurus (Imba 2019 Remix) See what I mean? Am I here for me or for you? I've always been a fan of Mamomam Records cover art & Liberation is no exception, warm tones and a softness that help you feel uplifted and safe. I've only heard Mamomam release rich detailed trance so far and expect this to be no different. Imba managed to get his track with Ephedra at the start of the latest Goa Trance Legacy and this album is no different. Liberation gives us a smooth intro flipped into full power banger, the main lead floats around the top of the track while other elements come and go. The production is fantastic, every part of the track is distinctly enhanced and detailed. The shoutey man voice was a cool trick too. Overall a decent track with a little bit of cool everything. Elysium island (Imba Remix) is a good track all the way through but becomes an Egyptian deity at the soft soothing mid break, i love that stuff, then bom shanka the 50mg of melody delivered directly to your amygdala starts to demand movement. All in all, an aptly named track. Dancefloor Stompers brings with it my favourite atmosphere and mood of the album. If 5g towers sent out waves that made people feel as good this track does we wouldn't have so many conspiracies. Is Dancefloor Stompers the antidote? The antibody that we need? It damn well is the track that had Tsotsi feeling good. Hot damn that mid break and that big, throbbing rod of energy bursting into the scene is just a treat. I can tell when Imba is having a good time with a track and this feels like one of those moments. *puff* Omega Centaurus by Dimension 5 Dimension 5 and remixed by Imba is of course a pretty exciting track title to see. Omega Centaurus without Imba is already ecstasy. Imba puts every detail in its rightful spot and digitizes it up a lil and when it ends it feels like it was all over to fast...Leaving you feeling empty, sick, dazed and alone. So alone. But then you hit play and it's all muy biene again. ~ This is a good little EP, it packs a punch. The word around town is that Imba has finished his studio, you can notice the difference in quality here. It's big thick bright trance that is right up Mamomam Records alley. It's a tragedy that Artists and Dj's aren't out there banging these records to crowds of wild humans. And it's a beautiful tragedy that so far we have only figured out how to connect as one people when we are faced with tragedy. That's not from Goa trance's lack of trying but we aren't here for the politics. Liberation EP is BitCHhiN'. https://mamomamrecords.bandcamp.com/album/liberation

  17. Proxeeus, aka Jerome Lesterps from France, has been elucidating the goa scene for a while now. His free debut album At The Mountains of Madness was a raw interlude of his potential. The second statement Weird Tales surprised many of us with a fantastic progression in song structure and production it its entirety compared to the debut. He was getting better and better. After that Proxeeus appeared on a number of compilations with stellar tracks such as Cthulhu Lives (Lotus) and Me, myself, and a Gnop-keh (Elan Vital). These tracks unveiled the new sound of Proxeeus where he far supersedes what he has done in the past (and that was already very good). We got more melodies, more travelling and more energy. On december 21st 2018 his 3rd album was released, Non-Euclidean Geometry on Goa Madness Records. Many goa fans were looking forward to this end-of-year climax. And .... Proxeeus delivers with a bang! Title: Non-Euclidian Geometry Arist: Proxeeus Label: Goa Madness Records (Belgium) Released: December 21 2018 Format: CD and Digital Tracklist: 1. Liber Ivonis 10:15 2. Ephraim Waite 10:25 3. What the Red Glare Meant 08:42 4. The Hounds of Tindalos 10:02 5. Down the Six Thousand Steps 08:27 6. The Unnamable 09:55 7. Old Keziah 11:13 8. Yog-Sothoth is the Gate 09:23 9. And Madness Followed (BONUS TRACK) Proxeeus' tracknames are influenced by the fantasy stories of author H.P. Lovecraft. He wrote about other worlds and aliens so much bigger and smarter than humans, we couldn't even begin to understand it. No soft mellow intro here, Liber Ivonis immediately gets the goa vibe going with so much melodies and kicking bass. It's a train that never stops. If you are looking for acid, just leave the album playing, because the second bliss Ephraim Waite is all that and more! Acid, more acid, and even more acid!! Intertwined with lovely warm synth melodies this track is a blaster. And the clarity of the sounds, wow, I can almost touch them. What the red glare meant thrives on a sort of hollow sound and starts a tad darker. But the majestic synths are back to take over. As a treat Proxeeus creates a metallic acid sound, Emmanuel Top like, like techno on speed. Very night-ish psychedelic stuff right here. The finale is super trippy. Proxeeus means business, and continues this bulldozer of an album with The hounds of Tindalos, a synth loaded and darker sounding track with acid blips in the back making you crazy. Hell, there is even an epic melody finishing with synths/acid mixed together to give an unforgettable dancefloor experience. Down the Six Thousand steps begins lighthearted but transforms rather quick in a dark monster where Proxeeus decides to take the aggressiveness up a notch. Next up is the liquid track The Unnamable. Liquid because of the sounds and the organic feel of it. Each minute we hear a new journey, but they flow flawlessly into each other. From warm to harsh and back to warm. Old Keziah is total immersion in Proxeeus land. Pulsating synths and acid fly around. How he creates the screaming climax is pure genius. The last track of the physical cd is Yog-Sothoth is The gate. Futuristic goa trance with sweet and banging melodic synth lines. The progression throughout the track is great again. Nothing feels monotonous, not predictable at all. That's the catch. And the fact that you know you're getting a great ending is so rewarding and pleasant. A joyful bonus track And Madness Followed is granted in the digital version on bandcamp. A 10 minute long odyssey to get all those goa brains melting on the dancefloor is the cherry on the cake. What a demolition track. We made it! Sooooo: The album is extremely coherent sound- and structure wise. You can listen to one track and be blown away, but the whole album is such an experience that you have to listen to it in its entirety. And appreciate it in its full length. The production quality is superb and not one single sound is out of place. Every track takes you on a journey to a parallel universe. Proxeeus is at the forefront of goa trance and this album is his magnum opus. Well, maybe until the next one. Who knows what comes next?? Jerome has much more to show us, I'm sure. Art like this only comes along once in a while. E-Mantra's Arcana, Artifact303's Back To Space, and now Proxeeus' Non-Euclidian Geometry. You nailed it, mister. Hats off. 20. I decided to write this after reading DJSunborn's comment on the voting thread. "Tips for the new producers: Sorry, nothing "ringed my bell", try harder! STOP using psy-trance machine gun bass everywhere, DON'T make everything sound "Full-on", lower down your damn BPM!, STOP over-compress your mastering!!!!!!!!!!!, BE more unique and for God shake, FORGET the typical Goa or Psy forms or use them minimal!, DON'T copy-paste ideas from others or from the past, Create your own sound! This is the ONLY way to be remembered in the future!" Important observations. Although they seem harsh they are to the point and well-intended, I assume. Concerning the tempo, very few goa trance tracks are in the range of 135-140 bpm, with 130-135 bpm almost nonexistent. Not to mention that artists do not include a midtempo/chillout track in most recent albums. Variation in bpm or even mood is scarce as well (e.g. Hypnoxock-Eurythmia). This is not an 'oldschool-newschool' distinction. The most acclaimed albums from the first wave of goa trance that revived the genre 10-15 years ago and seem to stand well the test of time have an easily recognizable style ("signature sound") - often combined with variation in bpm and/or midtempo/chillout tracks. Regardless of personal preferences: Khetzal - Corolle (2005) Goasia - From Other Spaces (2007) Ra - 9th (2008) E - Mantra - Arcana (2009) Filteria - Daze Of Our Lives (2009) Artha - Influencing Dreams (2010) Crossing Mind - Holotropic Paradigm (2010) Which of the newer releases will stand the test of time? IMO, the more of the above features they have, the more memorable they will be in the years to come. About excessive compression: it does not make the music sound more powerful or dance-floor friendly! It simply makes it bland and headache-inducing!
  21. Title: Shambhala Label: Global Sect Music Date: October 2018 Format : CD and Digital Tracklist: 1. Fiery Dawn - Magic Mirror 07:31 2. Skarma - Cianendeon ( Median Project Remix ) 08:53 3. Goasia - Hidden Waves 06:46 4. Median Project - Heaven and Earth (Omneon rmx) 08:10 5. Zopmanika - Namaskara Mantra II 08:58 6. Сentavra Project - Shambhala 09:18 7. Median Project - Scarab 07:26 8. Mindsphere - Floating in a Widescreen 12:11 9. Astrancer - Neighbor 10:14 DJ Adept's latest offering from Russia. Here we GO! For those who follow Global Sect music, you know what to expect. And they deliver more than that. Shambala is the bulls eye shot of Goa anno 2018. Opener is a down to mid-tempo track by Fiery Dawn. It has a nice groove, but I find it out of place on a compilation that is otherwise filled with space fuel. But ok, it gets you in the mood slowly. And then we're off for a goa rollercoaster without any disappointing tracks. Really, they are all fantastic! Median Project is back with a stunning remix of Skarma to crack the goa case open. Sweet melodies! Goasia in full force with a rolling bassline without pauses. Omneon takes on a remix of Median Project. Heaven and Earth gets a more acidic and raw facelift. Dance muttha's! I took an aromatic bath while listening to Zopmanika's belter Namaskara Mantra II. Good lord, kamasutra, India, spiritual lifting, and all that! It does it so well. Then we're off to space with Centavra's title track Shambhala. What great mixing in this track. Wonderful goa. Up and down we modulate. This disc is unstoppable, man. Median Project slams with his very own Scarab. This man only produces quality tracks nowadays. Scorching acid and goa synths flowing around from left to right. Amazing. And then, Mindsphere! Mindsphere treats us with a 12min(!) long goa odyssey. The lengths fits the quality. It's so good. A pleasure for the ears. His arpeggio's are back, and they are hot! And look who's back? Astrancer! Astrancer blesses us with the last track. He takes down the energy from the cd a notch, so we can all have a smooth comeback to earth in style. Great melodic easy listener. Conclusion: Don't hesitate to get this one! From start to finish this is what modern Goa is all about. Talented artists with a wealth of inspiration and skills. Goa lives!! 23. Artist: Miranda Title: Cosmic Treasure Vol.1 Best of 1995-2000 Remastered Label: Spiral Trax I mean, all I have to say to this is 'wow, fuck yes this is great, never leave my ears you beautiful sounds'. I have some of Miranda's stuff. I've always thought it was awesome. But! I had no idea it could sound like this. This perfectly remastered selection of her greats is to me like listening to them all again for the first time. I mean, just take the intro, ya'll know a good intro is sick, and this one is for sure. Don't even get me started on Gnocchi's wild ass bass line and wild zaps of energy. 'Their isn't a bad song here' is a statement that was true before the remaster. So it's hard to know what to say about it now. 'There are only 10/10 tracks presented here?' That'll do. Listen to the vibrancy of Step To The Stars for example. Listen to that punch. My goodness gracious. Wiiild Miranda likes Mars, we can take a hint. But if the planet of Mars was anything like Miranda's Planet of Mars track I'd be there in a heartbeat. Surely any Miranda fan would understand why I would think that Phenomena should be in their top 3 favourite tracks. Well this is better than you remember. Somewhere Out There, Awesome Mars Needs Woman, Eclectic with an ending like you have only kinda heard before. But not like this. Andalgalornis, Deep and electric. Magnetic Levitation, A favourite on top of a bunch of favourites. I mean what more could you want than deep rumbles, dark atmospheres, psychotic melodies and absolute layered distinction. https://spiraltrax.bandcamp.com/album/miranda-cosmic-treasure-vol-1-best-of-1995-2000-remastered-spitcd053-spiral-trax

  25. Hey there! My name is Seppe, and I just made my profile here. I've been producing goa trance for 2 years now, and my artist name is Globox. My goal is to make tracks with a more 90's oldschool sound, but I don't know if it always works out that way though :p I like to put a lot of acid in my music, but still keep it very melodic. Recently, I played my very first live-set at a party in Brussels, and now I uploaded it to mixcloud. Most of these tracks were never released online, so tell me what you think (P.S. you can find me on Soundcloud (https://soundcloud.com/globoxgoa), but most of my tracks aren't online.)
