The beginning of the internet, cell phones, playstation...Super great. And the music? Awesome. I love what this sub label of Suntrip is doing here. Releasing classic goa trance that maybe only made it to vinyl eps or obscure compilations, but doing it digitally so that the artists can recoup some well deserved income. Everyone knows Miranda and her stellar work, well this was her side hustle. The first two tracks could be found on the compilation Goa Vibes 3 and they hold up well. Melodic goa trance to the fullest. If you wanted to hear Xshattriy (Female Remix) you either had to go to a party or own a turntable cause this baby was vinyl only. And you should hear it because it is bouncy good goa with liquid bass. The original version of Human Vox (actually the first four tracks came from the Human Vox Ep) doesn't appeal to me as much as the remix. Everyone knows Future Travellers made with Prana and that track is still a beast. It's on a bunch of comps so no real discovery here. U Are Alone has a techno feel, but doesn't really go anywhere. The final track Woodwalking is a mid-tempo goa track with some barking 303's. It has groove and saunter with squelchy leads and was my favorite track here. But now they join the team of artists who release albums that are just about damn extraordinary. Am I easily pleased or have the Goa trance artists of the day kicked it up a notch? Do we deserve music like this? Are we living our lives well enough to warrant a gift like this? Relax, because Matan & Nadav seem to think so. Expect Bravado, Gusto, Excess, New Worlds, Raw Tectonics & Volcanoes of Ecstasy. ~ 1. Great Light - Nothing that begins without a boom ends without one. Nothing. Remember that for the rest of this album and use the 2nd half of this track as your first and final reminder. I really did think this track was going to be chill. My word what an exciting track. 2. Psycho therapy - Ok so now we know what to expect and the boys start it off just as beautifully. An instant transportation into a world full of tranquil expectations. I already know the guys for their brilliant compositions in the breaks of their tracks. And Psycho Therapy makes sure I also know them for a great deal of other good things on top of that. 3. Trancologica - Starts trancey as heck. Is that Osho? I don't know what it is but Indian accents and trance, a match made by Brahma. Expect a lot of good trancological karma and extraordinary soundscapes coming your way for this track. 4. 6EQJE5 - I mean are we here to party or what. That's rhetorical, Just fuck. Goddamn. 2:30 is all you need to know you're about to listen to one of the best trance tracks created. 6EQJE5, remember that one if you can, it's for your own good. There's nothing I can say that would be better than listening to this track. 5. Concerta - The bassline of this track got me stoned which makes it hard to think about what to write. I got it! No I lost it. YES! No it's gone. A crazy good track with celestial melodies that warp around every part of your consciousness. 6. Atmospheres painted by RA float in the background of this track and when the kickdrum came in I realized I didn't know it wasn't there. Matan & Navad know how to create cool worlds with sounds, and flounce those skills in your face on Visit Earth (Live Mix). I can't call it a favourite because each track pretty much is at this point. 7. Dance Float - Aaaaah Haha its on baby. Did you all check in on time? Bring your passports? Remember not to bring more than 50ml of liquids that aren't in a ziplocked bag? Leave your aerosols at home? Because this space ship ain't waiting around. Boom fucking Boom man. A speed of light banger that gives and gives and gives. Special surprises for us everywhere. But how the song composes it's finale is the most special, like lightening strikes of energy this song rocks. 8. Like every track so far Spacestation gains momentum along the journey. But Spacestation decides to swing you between calm (By Sykespico's standards) and crazy atmospheres. As soon as you think the calm is winning the crazy spreads its tentacles of psychedelic euphoria open, slowly engrossing every part it's electrified world. 9. Perlimor Star If you didn't already realise the crazy amazing atmospheres that these guys are compelled to create, you'll soon learn (I haven't head stuff like this since listening to Ra!) This could just as well have been an album opener as well as a closer. Beautiful slow trance that grows bigger and bigger. That grooves up and beyond. Did I just get transported to a the beginning of a new beautiful world being created? No... I got transported to a land of soaring energy that dances across the galaxy. But good guess. ~ If we are going to call Constellation by MP a cross between Mindsphere & Astral Projection. And Jaraluca's fits into the category of Psylent Budhi, Morphic Resonance & Pleaidians, which I agree with completely. Well then i'm going to liken this to a love child between Ra, Jannis & yes, Pleaidians...They get around. I think Celestial Intelligence might have christened the little bastard. I don't know what to say. It's just excellent unexpected stuff. Its exciting and energetic and a whole bunch of other nice words. This will surely be my album of year. This might be the best album of trance i've heard. But Sykespico already knew that, didn't they? Time will tell if this album really is as good as I think it is, but so far 8 listens in nothing has changed other than my favorite tracks. The Wednesday Pond 7. Red Relic 8. Interstate Insects 9. Maven 10. Postlude: Antiquity Maan is Frode Ungar from Norway and this is his debut album. His Orbiter Ep from 2017 was very good as were his compilation tracks. Neogoa consistently releases quality goa trance and this is no exception. While not being exceptional at anything, it is extremely solid at everything. Ten tracks with the intro and outro being short sketches that had me wanting more. The goa gets started with Mother Moss and as the title insinuates this is more of a forest track with a goa feel. Loses its way a bit in the middle, but finishes strongly. Instant Equilibrium is an immediate stormer that feels very old school. Sounds like old X-Dream. It hardly deviates from its opening structure, but it's so bouncy and infectious I don't mind. I liked the metallic synth banging right out of the gate with Re/Bells and it maintains the goa flavor. The crystal clear sound and punchy bass of Garden With Flowers hits me immediately and the groove is similar to M-Run efforts. Most interesting track goes to The Wednesday Pond, sounding downtempo and progressive at the same time. Really a very zen experience. Red Relic combines a hammering bass and a frenetic synthline, but not a whole lot else. Insects is very high intensity with screeching synth leads and never fully takes a break, but keeps evolving. Maven closes it out with a super crisp sound and bouncy rhythms. Really liked the understated layers in this one. Like I said, not exceptional at anything, but great at everything. It's a solid goa album that I felt could've been better, but with numerous dalliances in other genres. I look forward to the next one. Neogoa Records Bandcamp

Tracklist: 01 - A Way To Regret 02 - Monkeys (Extended Remix) 03 - Theory Of The Ghost 04 - El.Es.Di 05 - Mahabaratha (Live Version) 06 - Dream Telepathy 07 - Secret Trip 08 - Flutes The long awaited new Artha album – Dream Telepathy is almost here (at least I can enjoy it before it’s officialy released by Cronomi Records since I recieved the FLAC files thanks to Ward and kind folks at Cronomi Records, so I feel obligated to throw out few honest words about this one. It’s not a secret I’ve been a huge fan of this kind of Goa trance music for a while and Artha is one of the artists that I always play and enjoy. Even the promotion has been a little bit obscure (especially because we’re dealing here with one of the most creative and innovative Goa trance producers in last decade), all true Goa-heads who are into this so-called new breed Goa-wormhole for more than few years, are familiar with the fact that Michał Bączek is making his second full-lenght album, especially after highly respected and acclaimed back-to-back releases – Fluori Dorby and Influencing Dreams (both released on his mother-label Cronomi Records). When it comes to Artha music and sound in general, there is no universal consensus, most of the time, people who are stuck into dreamy (or how I like to call it ‘Astral Projection-influenced‘ Goa, tend to bash or more politley criticise his sound, production or mastering, but still they somehow admire the unique approach and creative input, even it’s not full-blown melodic Goa trance chaos. In simple words, it’s Artha, or to be daringly honest if I may – a totally new level of Hallucinogen, just made in wrong times where the new level of Goa generation tends to forget how much Simon contributed with his solo project. Yes, it’ might be wrong to compare such heavyweight with Artha, but as a reviewer I have to point out that music on Dream Telepathy still sounds innovative, creative and technically almost flawless (and let’s not forget the six year-long gap between this and his last album. That being said, new album ‘Dream Telepathy’ comes with 8 new tracks (excluding the reworked version of legendary Maharabathara track) and over 70 music of trippy, but very likable Goa trance music. On the first listen, sound geeks might notice that audio-image of this album is slightly different than it’s processor, with more accent on the tiny details, passages in arrangement and FX moments which Dream Telepathy has a lot to offer. A family member of Cronomi crew, Mario, or to some of you better known as M-Run put a lot of effort to make this album sound more organic and less raw / kick-friendly. Still, it has to be previewed on bigger and better PA to understand this improvement a little bit better, but it’s just one of thoose details every fan of good sounding Goa music will know how to appriciate and in my humble opinion Mario did a great job here (but, it’s also a matter of taste and I’m sure many of you will prefer the Colin‘s mastering from the first album). So, the music? It sounds like Artha, perhaps a little bit more minimal with more focus on arrangement/technical parts, but still it doesn’t suffer of being chessy in terms of melody or, God forbid ‘trying so hard’ to sound too Goa with cheap oriental melodies. I’ll tell you a secret – it’s not how Michał or Cronomi roll. However, I feel that at some point, this release feels a bit rushed out, even it has it’s moments of brilliance and uniqueness and tracks such ‘El Es Di’ or ‘Secret Trip’ are proper gems and one of the reasons why this release might end up in all major ‘best of’ selections at the end of the year – when it comes to Goa trance music in 2016. Of course, you can’t except that whole album sounds unique from start to finish, but thoose tiny (as I called it ‘rushed out’) moments won’t spoil your enjoyment and I’m sure many of you are not nit-picking as much as I do. Personally, it’s hard for me to review each track, since all of them got a lot to offer – for example the opening track A Way To Target is already much more interesting than Dubber Nubber from his previous album, the revisited Maharabathara version will make you dance and my personal highlights such as El Es Di (duh, it’s LSD), and Secret Trip will probably please your aural sensors. Also, don’t miss relaxed Flutes (with some nice native Slavic themes appearing there for a breif moment) and technoid Theory Of The Ghost, perfect for all early 2000’s Goa astronauts – thoose tracks will become a true classics in the near future, I’m sure. Conclusion: In the end, Dream Telepathy gives enough of time to rejoice and deep within yourself invoke the feeling that Goa trance music is still alive indeed, without being scared of yet another 2 or 3 years period with mostly ultra melodic Goa music. If it makes sense, Cronomi knows very well how to distract the monopoly of melodic releases on this scene by offering enough of melody on their releases but without taking the fluffy-road. Dream Telepathy will require a lot of listens and patience since it's one of thoose albums where you have to devote a lot of time, but when it sinks in, you will be grateful. Being in the making for last 6 years, Artha and Cronomi will deliver proper Artha sound with couple of new moments of excitment and joy, but make sure to avoid hype, especially after reading this review because sometimes it becomes natural and easy to feel dissapointment with some minor things, even complete picture (or in this case this release) looks and feels good. If you enjoyed the previous Artha music, I'm sure this one will become your 2016 favorite. After this release, we have to give kudos to Michał and growing Polish Goa scene (with PsySutra and JaraLuca already released a bunch of material) Poland is becoming a nice incubator for talented and creative artists with healthy Goa-trance scene. Dream Telepathy also comes with wonderful Psara's artwork desing that once again cleverly avoids Goa clichés and offers interesting visuals and M-Run's gently, but very respectable mastering. I know during this global pandemic we've been quarantined away (well, most of the world because the dumb ass Americans apparently think the virus just disappeared because they wanted a f*cking haircut), but Norway is kind of on quarantine all the time isn't it? Tucked away in a corner of the world you don't really hear what's going on over there. What are they known for other than beautiful scenery, polar bears, and the northern lights? Actually that's enough. Well add goa trance excellence to the list because it ain't just Ra form the snowy north anymore. Kretslop (how come I can't make that f*cking o with the damn line through it!?!) means circuit in Norwegian I believe. This first half of this album is extremely intense. Acid, layers, and big booming kicks. Æ-Re-Stu is a fantastic opener illuminating how vast and potent this music is going to be. Big Rip is certainly has all of that. Huge and powerful it also has its delicate touches making this the ultimate banger. Inner Core harnesses the same energy and is relentless, and even though Spirit Dance allows you to catch your breath in spots, it has a very danceable melody. Infectious really. But if you thought you were going to have a break, well that myth is shattered by the absolutely bombastic Voices of Helium. Even though it's the shortest track on the album it's got layers of spirals and power to make this an instant anthem. Like the Suntrip promo says they focus more on the melody side of things during the second half. Outside This World feels like a bit of a let down. Remember in junior high dancing to the jam and then the dj plays a slow song and the people mostly leave the floor? Kinda like that. Well, Music Machines and Easter Hymn brings them back with their very bouncy melodies. Congratulations to Hans for a very good debut album and one of my favorites this year. Highly recommended! Sometimes it's done to capitalize on a moment, drop in for a quick cash grab, and then there is that awesome unearthing of something great. DAT Records has been instrumental in bringing back the past with numerous high profile releases that are damn near legendary now. Thanks to the pandemic a lot of labels are focusing on their digital side of operations. Todra was an Israeli duo who flew under my radar certainly. I knew of their debut album Figure of Sound however it didn't blow me away and I didn't give it much thought. But this is pure gold. This was to be their second album (unreleased) that was literally left in a drawer gathering dust. Thankfully it is now free to be heard. I find this to be a wonderful mixture of late 90's psytrance while still hanging on to the goa flavor of the mid 90's. It's electric with a futuristic feel with a full, rich sound. It's thumps along with driving rhythms, assorted squelches and screeches that appear to come from every direction, and well timed breaks that allow the music to breathe. It's extremely psychedelic music that then surprises with nimble goa melodies sacrificing nothing. The attention to detail is great and even though I knew it was something special when I first heard it, repeated listens only confirmed it. Like 1998 Krembo style psytrance? They got you. A fan of futuristic GMS weirdness? They got you. Guitars that don't sound like a hunk of annoying cheese? They got you. For most of their existence so far this has been cosmic themed Goa that takes you as far into the depths of space as you can go. I even began to think that this theme would be carried through for eternity. With the release of Merr0w's newest album we see that it is not the theme that matters but that there is a theme. And what better artist to show us this than the guy who really does seem to love all the magic of the deep water myths and kingdoms. Brice Fruyt is all about the sea. Don't believe me? Merrow comes from Gaelic that stands for a Mermaid or a Chimera, so like a water chimera, so like a Taor. Just look at that cover art, that's some straight up cool work, and the merch available along side this release is outstanding too. Life under the water is fantastical, but it's also slow, you can tell from listening to these tracks that a lot of time and attention has been given to them. You can't just whip up a 17 minute track like Trippy Jellyfish, that comes from somewhere special, somewhere deep inside, more mysterious than the unknown depths. Well Lost In The Triangle sure does kick it off nicely. A fine tuned super duper producer type track. Bubbles and mysterious storms of electro goodness rush around you while the maelstrom spins you down into the depths. The melody shoots at you like the stream from a TFL-B54270-Aluminum-Alloy-Water-Jet-Thruster-Pump. Merr0w knows we need a little chill time before we deal with the next onslaught from the depths. You have exactly 3 minutes until the bulging Lunar Tide comes to clear away the wreckage from the first track. At full moon we never stood a chance, the final act of Lunar Tides is like a opening a giant clam to find:- Or This Life under the sea can be lonely, you might take either. Odysseus, King of the island of Ithica, battler of mystical beasts and subject of the gods Wrath, this guy really pissed Poseidon off. Merr0w creates an epic tale that slaps harder than a giant squids tentacular club. Fast and loud, the melody and background noises develop and morph, shift, ebb & flow. A groover that comes at you harder than Charybdis from that damn Vortex. Like the 8 long years spent with Calypso the nymph (The nymphs from the myths not the internet) on the island of Ogygia Triple Jellyfish is here for a long time. Wait. You're telling me Odysseus spent 10 years trying to get home but for 8 of those he was gettin' some on a Mediterranean island? Sounds better than going home to mumma and pappa if you ask me. If those 8 years were anything as good as the 17 minutes and 12 seconds of pure inspiration coming from Triple Jellyfish then I can't blame the guy. Like streams of power coming from the Neptune's magical trident this track blasts you into another dimension. Only ever letting up to shock you with another tsunami of energy Trippy Jellyfish is one heck of a journey that makes hits you by surprise every time you think things might be calming down. A song sung by The Sirens themselves, a lure of symphonies that traps you in a scaly grasp. The sound of Triton's Conch Shell Trumpet begins tooting overhead and now we are in the thick, there is no way to go but right through Their Own Light. A treasure greater than anything found at the depths of the Bermuda, just listen to that damned production quality. Melodies that morph faster than the Agulhas current are just the cherry on top but by no means the whole meal. The howls of a wolf through the trees are horrifying enough, but one from this guy:- No thanks. Good thing nothing but good luck is meant to come from the sighting of this thing. And after the first howls in Sea Wolf Howling that good luck brings itself to you in the form of one of the best Merr0w compositions you have heard. The Akkorokamui shoot their tentacles of raw rusted synths and melody through the darkness and wrap them around your body. This is one monster you don't want to fight but give yourself in to. Maybe the terrifying bastard is benevolent. Urchins, Lobsters, Poseidon and Odysseus all come together for one glorious moment of fractalised unity. Like a storm crafted by Aeolus Fractal Octopus is wild, fast, loud and exciting. it's been 10 long years but the journey has come to an end with one last piece to guide us home, and one Last Breath on Seashore. Merr0w get's to really bring the ocean into this track with enigmatic atmospheres you really do start to feel like you are in a lost world. A beautiful way to finish this adventure of deep sea myths and monsters. ~ I think everyone here will agree that this has got to be Merr0w's best work to date. The theme is carried along completely from start to finish, the melodies are great, the atmospheres are bubbly and deep, the production and composition of sounds dance around one another like sinking treasures. It's Merr0w but unlike you have heard him, perhaps unlike we will hear him again. However I decided to give a chance to Sounds Of Cosmic Lifeforms and I'm so glad that I did. First positive thing that I noticed is super-crystal clear sound and I really enjoyed listening this one on my soundspeakers (and unfortunaley I can't say same thing for 70% of Goa trance music that can be found online) so kudos to Digitoxin (Phototropic Records owner) for very solid work with mastering. Album kicks off with Quazar and it's solid Astral Projection inspired tune with interesting melody around 6th minute mark, nothing super-spectacular but overall pretty much good track for morning hours. Space Sirens got more mystique atmosphere and track overall sounds much more darker and in-your-face, however I disliked too much of heeeeya-heeeeya oriental male vocals. Third track got same name as legendary opener from Metallica's Ride The Ligthening (Fight Fire With Fire), at the very first minute we can hear nice acid wobbles with guitar riffs in background, with nice build-up but it doesn't lead anywhere. Next one is Gagarinz Trip and it's true goa trance beast, powerful drum-kick with swirling melodies and effects in background are just sweet as hell, love every second of it, especially after 5th minute - nice Filteria/Pleiadians melodic build-up for a perfect peak and ending. So far this one is pure winner. Medusa is the name of next track and it starts pretty much simple and not-so-much innovative and I got feeling that this one is more like some work in progress track, not happy about it. Luckly, next track Psy Hit starts nicely and right after 2nd minute mark we got epic melody in background, it just perfectly describes the title of album, pure interstellar trance ride through Cosmos. Pity, ending of track is a bit harsh, but hey, after Medusa this one was superb. By the way, who came with such a awful name Psy Hit? Lucky number 7 is Protoplasma, nice party track with straight-forward attitude, nothing super-special, nice goa trance groove with solid synth-work. Last track is The New Creation (2011 Mix) and it got same mystique atmosphere like Space Sirens from the beginning of this CD. This one got also heavy usage of Trance-Dance or Ionized-a-like melodic parts and actually I like it a lot (not saying that we got copycats, just that I like that melodic feeling in the track), anyways, super track for ending of this *I must say short* 60-minutes album. Conclusion - Very nice goa trance album with some lovely tracks like: Gagarinz Trip (III), Quazar (II), The New Creation (2011 Mix) (II) and some not so lovely: Medusa & Fight Fire With Fire. It will probably find it's place in homes of many old/newschool goa trance addicts, especially because we are talking about SynSUN and they aren't some obscure project, they got impressive discography, no matter the fact that I personaly dislike the most of it, especially their recent full-on stuff. Just to mention that I find this cover artwork ugly as hell and I don't like it at all, orginal version looks just epic. Artist: SubConsciousMind Title: Symphonies of Life Label: Self-Released Date: March, 2018 1. Patience 2. Truth 3. Consciousness 4. Destruction 5. Love 6. Creation 7. Beauty 8. Humility 9. Trust Raphael Huber's latest release is a remarkably produced piece of work. The dynamics here are superb forcing the listener to concentrate on the subtleties all the way through the tracks. Very psychedelic at times with my favorite track being the blistering Creation. The 303s were going crazy! Also big honorable mentions go the final bits of Destruction. Very intense. Some of the tracks however don't evolve as well as others and maybe take too long to get where they're going. Still, that's a minor gripe and while not as explosive as Intermezzo Extended, it is a solid album. Free at Ektoplazm

Artist: Consept Lightwork Title: Basics of Consciousness Ep Label: Timewarp Records Date: December, 2017 1. For Wisdom And Truth 2. Galactic Special Forces 3. Ancient Magnetic Crystals This was our first introduction to Israeli artist Avihai Tsroya with his debut Ep. I'm not going to blow smoke up your ass and tell you that he reinvented the wheel. He didn't, but this is a very competent beginning to a goa trance career. The production is good, there is power and melody, and plenty of danceable moments. It's less a goa EP and more of some psychedelic music that draws from the goa pool. This was done in 2017 so I am looking forward to giving his album from 2018 Moments of Magic a listen to see if he progressed. Timewarp Bandcamp

Artist: Zeta Reticuli Title: Superbright Ep Label: Kali Earth Records Date: February, 2020 1. Blue Archangel 2. UY Scuti 3. Pleiadians Well this was a pleasant surprise. This is Alexander Prokopchik with a very good debut EP. He had a track on the VA Gamayun Tale that was pretty decent, but other than that there isn't much out there. This ep has three tracks that all have many twists and turns with very enjoyable goa melodies, but it's unlike most stuff out there. Perhaps it's a mix of psytrance and goa trance, but he doesn't stay married to just one avenue. As soon as you're comfortable with a measure it's off on the next tangent. Keeps it fresh for sure. YU Scuit is my fave. It's a very promising start and I look forward to seeing where he goes from here. Kali Earth Bandcamp

F*ck a thread, a festival. Just take all the artists who have released on Draeke's label and put them in front of a mountain or sea backdrop for a three day weekend. This is the view from my backyard. I have 2 acres and would volunteer the space. Waitaminute...I've seen what you guys do to a patch of land when the festival is over. Also I'm the youngest in my hood by a generation so you'd probably give them a heart attack. Besides thanks to our Cheetoh in chief (he's such a disgusting douche bag) you probably couldn't get into the states depending on which country you're in. Offer rescinded. But seriously, DAT just keeps on going with quality release after quality release. While I wasn't super impressed with Analog Dreams the rest of them have been home runs. This is an interesting release. Virtuart is Oliver Abitbol and like the title says he enlisted a lot of his friends to make this happen. Originally on the first disc was properly released back in the 90's and only 100 copies were made. The second disc was apparently out there also, but homie just gave it away. So this is nice to have a 2 CD set of music that was super hard to find. But that's what Feds does doesn't he? Oliver made several mixes of these tracks so for this release he compiled the best of those remixes and voila you have disc one. It is old school that churns and evolves with awesome melodies. The layers are thick with atmosphere and thanks to the mastering you can really hear them. I find the whole thing delightfully dark and mysterious and not too polished as to sound artificial. Sacred Drop is the only one I've heard and it reminded me a lot of Colorbox. Disc two has the hard to find tracks and Draeke said he tried to stay true to the tracklist that disc 2 was comprised of when he gave it away to his friends. Oliver's friends. Not Draeke. Draeke doesn't have friends he just bangs supermodels. This music is deep. Full of nice, long tracks replete with twists and turns to keep you interested. Driving rhythms. Let's see...a Pleiadians 3-disc set, a two-disc Etnica set, a Doof 2-disc album and now a 2-disc Virtuart Opus. Can you be my president? Bring your supermodels with you. Floating and uplifting, it really does make it feel like you are floating over a city of futuristic buildings made of gold and glub-glub. Artifact303 (HelixNebula Remix) – The track gets better and better as it goes on, The first had me wondering if something great was going to eventually happen and it sure does. Helixnebula brings more uplifting energy to the comp Cellestial Intelligence (Median Project Remix) – I’ve listened to the original and this version back to back and up n’ down. Median Projects adds flour to the mix and densifies it in a way that only he can. A few extra layers and added zips and hey presto we have ourselves an AAF certified banger. Like the original the track becomes exceedingly more exciting as it progresses. It leaves me feeling light and capable. Median Project - This is the sort of song that got Median Projects name on the map, hidden layers reach up from the depth and screech at you as intensity intensifies. you go from deep sleep in the cold emptiness of space to hyperspeed through a nebula all in the space of 8 minutes and 10 seconds. Fiery Dawn – Whose afraid of the big bad Boogie Man? Not Fiery Dawn, this guy faces his fear head on and damn he does it with gusto today. The track is full bodied with a long finish, think of a Hunter Valley Shiraz. Energy is kept high and every element compliments the last. Fiery Dawn should get a cellar door award for this baby, it’s hot on the lips and only gets better with more listens. This reminds me Midi Junkies & Psychologist – The mood changes into full-on/psytrance territory. I normally don’t go out of my way to listen to this style so I appreciate having it here for me to hear. A lot of effort goes into the mids and highs, it feels like the bassline and kick could have been given a little uniqueness love. Regardless the theme and that 5 minute break into triplets is sweet as pie. An engaging dancefloor stomper. Psychowave – Psychowave comes in with his high quality psytrance, more squelches and psychedelic layers than you can poke a stick at. The track has its moments and no doubt would be a banger on a dancefloor. For my at home listening it lacks anything stable for me to grasp on to as each moment flies by so fast. Cleanest production in the game though. Galaktion & Groove Hunter – Picture sparkling gems overhead, refracting in the forest light as it glimmers through the tree tops. A half dark half, half sparkly track that has some decent grooves, my favourite of the three psy tracks (You’d hope so, that name comes with expectations). Sonic Elysium – Horrifyingly uplifting and full of nice feelings. The main lead is to die for and reminds me of a high quality old school Muses Rapt style. The first listen comes with a lot of excitement as the track grows into what it eventually becomes. Subsequent listens keep the smile on the face as it fills me with empowerment and positivity. Hado Records hit the nail on the head right here right now. The psytrance tracks might not be everyones cup of tea but then again the Goa trance tracks may not be either. Nobody did a bad job here and exceed at each style that is tested out. Sonic Elysium and Fiery Dawn are my favourites, but really I like them all. Artist: Lifeforms Title: Into The Wild Label: Iboga Records Date: September, 2019 1. Into The WIld 2. Eden 3. Mellow 4. Ahead of Us 5. Lost Behind 6. Raw 7. One of A Kind 8. Away From Here Man I had forgotten about this Israeli project! They made the type of music that refused to be shoe horned into a box. Psytrance, progressive, goa...all with delicate and symphonic touches. It's deep music and is great for those looking for more than just 4/4 beats. And they jump right in with the title track that is a combination of all three. Starts of with a growing progressive vibe, slowly morphs into a psytrance track and then BAM!!...goa trance. What I really like about the tracks is the way they seamlessly slip into a break and expand in a new direction. They go in like a lamb and out like a lion. Also impressed with their samples and the sample placement. When done correctly it really adds to the track. It's not a perfect album and sometimes it falls prey to the cliche's of trance music, but those moments are few. While not as heavily layered as the Nertum album (by far my favorite) this is still a solid offering for those who still want to love psytrance. Psyshop

Hello everyone, since there isn't any review of the compilation, I will post my own view of it. I will also share the stories on how this one came to be and how complex was to release it. I am very proud of it, since we worked very hard and the result is really brilliant. I won't speak of mastering as for me this series is really very well done with the audio marvels of Colin OOOD that took the tracks and gave them new life, balancing every aspect and making them sound the best they could. CD1 - Unreleased The opener, Questions by RA, is a real killer, it comes from the original demo of the band, that never saw the light of the day, and although not credited on the sleeve (by mistake) was also produced by Lars Lind. We amended this on the entry on discogs. We then have Jubilation by Dharma 7, a really mystical tune, composed in the heydays of goa trance, and it sounds rough but polished and has a very haunting feeling to it, I really love it. The melody that kicks in also is very well done and takes the track to another dimension. Next we have Alkaloid. This is Sam from the UK (now relocated to Spain) that produced this track a long time ago. But the quality of the music is really there, it has a mega psychedelic apex in the middle, that makes you think you are listening to Etnica and their mayhem of layers, vintage '96. But it is not them! So that is an indicator of the quality of the music, as they are pretty much some of the best producers that ever made music in this genre. It also was found on a DAT tape in the hand of a New Zealand party goers, who had it next to Etnica - Shadow Dance, curiously named as Etnica - No Name. So, I wasn't the only one making this connection with its sound. Shiva Chandra's Atmosphere, was a track found on a tape in possession of Max Etnica, and was grouped together with other tracks of Daniel. The original DAT title was just Daniel - Atmosphere (misspelled as Outmosphere, who knows what the real title was!). Daniel confirmed it to be his tracks, but wanted the title changed to Atmosphere as he could not recall making up that other name. Great track of the past, a bit rough in some parts maybe but that surely deserved to be included. Little Blue Men. Here we go, this is a true bomb. Very fast, hyper psychedelic and I can guarantee that when I played it in a DJ set in Belgium people really lost it. It's absolutely stellar in every possible way and we have to thank the Swedes for allowing us to release this very old track, long forgotten by the authors but highly sought after by many DAT collectors! It took us a while to find a good master copy of Dr Snuggles Dilemma as the band had no tape of this. Dr Snuggles was originally a cartoon character. Magus. Well, who hasn't dreamed of seeing this track finally released? It is a dream come true. If you know the Greek psychedelic scene you also know that this mythical band was playing some of the most intricate, dark, crazy, mind exploding psychedelic tracks ever made. They were real geniuses in the use of mad samples and combined humorous vibes with swirling acid lines. It's an absolute storming track and we have to thank a Greek friend for helping us in getting the authorization from one half of the band. The other half was happy to help, and was already a contact of mine, so it was half easy, half hard. But I am so glad it could finally come out. I want to say that even if the track is called Black Holes (Remix) it's actually a Re Mix, meaning the original mix was just weaker and they rearranged a few elements to make a better final mix, but there is not really an original version of the track, as the other one is very similar but less finished. Opale - Lord of the Minds. Greg is a real psychedelic warrior. His tracks are absolutely stellar. They are dark and very energetic, and this one features a samples taken from Lord of The Rings. He always likes to use samples from movies, and other tracks he has all feature samples from Hollywood productions. But that's just the starting point, he then creates great atmospheres around the tracks filled with acid driven mad lines, curtesy of his collection of analog synths. And we are glad to have him on board with this tune. Wizzy Noise - Pleione. Well, if you were trading unreleased tracks back on mIRC, ICQ, Napster, Soulseek and WinMX in the late 90s you will surely remember how hard was to get your hands on Wizzy Noise tracks. Often called the Pleiadians of Greece they were creating some absolutely mind-blowing tracks and we needed the help of all the Pantheon to be able to release this monster track. Wizzy project is frozen since 2008 and just a miracle and a pro-charity compilation could make it happen. I was really jumping for joy when I heard the good news, everyone should enjoy this jewel as a sacred offering. It probably won't happen again. Blade's Anthropophagi refers to some tribes who practice cannibalism. The concept is of course dark and obscure but the track is absolutely wonderful in terms of creativity. It has some strange solutions in it but we found it pretty original and unique. I want to add that this musician from Montecarlo made his way into various DAT tapes of the 90s as even XP VooDoo was playing his music in his sets and I think this one surely deserved to come out. Mystery Machine is a British project, and this track was liked by Danny Rampling who played it into a radio show. It only got that single air but yet people were looking for this track for a long time! I remember some blokes from up north writing me to thank me because they finally could enjoy this track, complete and in full quality. I also found the sample pretty interesting and even if it sounds a bit trancey I think it has some defined psychedelic moments in it. CD2 - Vinyl Only tracks Kharma - Harmony. This was a project where Blade from CD1 took part, together with some friends they created a track that is absolutely goanish even if it was released into a progressive trance vinyl on a label that was not specifically related to the goa scene. Back in 94-96 in Italy and in many other EU countries we had this scene that was called "progressive" without any other words next to it and in many clubs DJs were playing a mixture of tracks that more than often were on the verge of being goa, alternating them with more commercial and melodic tracks such as Children by Robert Miles that was one of the most famous anthem of the genre together with X-Form, Florian F, Enere and many others. So this track comes from that era and that genre, reminding me of when I was clubbing in '96 on the Italian coast. Awesome times for sure and this track capture that essence perfectly. Doof - Let's Turn On (Tuned-In Mix). This is probably the last vinyl-only track by our dear Doof that was so kind as to license almost every track he has ever made to DAT Records. We think that this mix deserved to come out as it is less known than the original and the recently released 'Desk Mix' which is a magnificent 9 minutes stormer. But this one is not less interesting, it is very hypnotic and a favourite of DJ Solitare who used to play this back in the days in his sets more than often. I also consider this to be a gem of a mix, which can work very well on the dancefloor, surprising a few peeps as it is very little known. Try it, I like it a lot. Ushuaya - 3 Months. I was thrilled when we recorded this one from the tapes. I immediately understood something was different and then I checked. It's the speed and the pitch. We ripped 3 copies of the vinyl and in all of them the length was different, it was a bit off-tune and so we sent this version to Tim himself who confirmed this to be the real deal, that's how the track was composed and how is supposed to sound. So, back when the vinyl was pressed, something went wrong and they released a track which was not at the right speed/pitch. No worries, it was the 90s and it worked wonders anyway, but here for the first time you get the correct speeded track with a fantastic remastering, a real treasure! Hux Flux - Time Slices. Notably one of the best tracks ever made by Dennis. Seriously, just listen to it, it is absolutely crazy. That ghostly effect it's out of this world and the track is a marvel, it is intense, fast and groovy, a real treat. I am so happy we could finally get this baby to CD and although we could not find a DAT master, we ripped several copies of vinyl and the sapient hands of my friend DJ Sunborn, restored and cleaned this track spectacularly. Then the remastering gave it new life and we really have a jewel here. Deviant Electronics - Catacomb. The last vinyl only of the band really deserves to be here, it's a 10 minute majestic composition. It has a cool vibe to it and makes me want to run and jump. It is very well produced and I was really happy to be able to use it for this compilation. I don't know if Zion604 had any plans for it, but we asked and they were happy to let us use it for this compilation. We thank them for this. I am sure you will be happy about this one as much as I were when selecting it. Cosmosis - Emanations. What's there to say? It's Cosmosis!! There is really no need to say much, the master of psychedelia hailing from the UK has done it again with this track and just as in his other famous tunes there are all the elements of a winner track. That feeling that you immediately understand is one of his tracks is present. It's really unmistakable and sooooo aciiiiiid. I really love his sound, it's brilliant and amazing at the same time. Thanks for this one Bilbo! Semsis - Soundvandal. Originally, we had voted for another track, but since the authors could not be found anywhere, we went for the next in line, which was this great track by Semsis. Everyone knows the flip side of this EP and few ever mention this track to my knowledge. However my good friend DJ Solitare used to play it in his set in the 90s and was very happy we finally picked it. Iain was really awesome and so kind to donate this track for the release. Hiscore - Identify. "Do you identify this object?" Now tell me this isn't the craziest track you've ever heard, pretty mental right? I think it is an absolute stormer and although I usually play it a little pitched up for mayhem effect, it works perfectly also at his original speed. I was happy we could find a deal with the band and with the help of a friend I could acquire this song and donate it to the compilation. The sound that emerged with the mastering is really outstanding and we have a true killer here. Gangguru - X-3. I call these guys the French Etnica as their sound is really somehow similar to the sound of my friends back in 1996. The kick they used is also somewhat similar and the melodies are all there, very special project this one. And I am very thrilled to say much more will come from these guys, as I have been speaking with them and we are preparing a full length release. Anyway, this particular track, is really cool and it is mysterious for me how they could not release something back in the 90s as they clearly were much better than a lot of artists who were produced and released. Mysteries. But it's not too late, we will give this music a new life now and this track is a superb example of their technique. Encens - Howl. A super fun track by Marcello who was super cool and donated the track to the cause last minute as we couldn't get the authorization for another track. But hey, this is a real winner, a fabulous track and I love the sample in it. It really is a great track and I am sure a lot will enjoy this vinyl only track that perfectly closes our compilation. Ideally all these stories would have gone into the booklet, but believe it or not we had no time to go through this phase and the graphic solution I invented, hopefully was appreciated by all of you.
