  1. This is previously unreleased version of Indian Spiciness tune by Sky Technology, a slightly different mix was released on Future Architecure, so while we're all waiting for new releases on Ektoplazm, here is free download for this one, 100 d/l slots only, in MP3 320 format. Enjoy! https://soundcloud.com/neogoa/sky-technology-indian YouTube video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UlXE3GNx0MM
  2. Artist: Koxbox Title: Forever EP Label: Matsuri Productions Date: 1999 1. Insect & Insect Bite (Split Mix) 2. Space Interface 3. Loads of Flow (Molecular Mix) Like dancing bananas on the run after a prison break this EP is unnecessary. If you have the first album Forever After from Koxbox that is because these three tracks are all on it. The star of the show is Insect & Insect Bite with its downright evil and malicious intent. It's pumping and sinister and has a twirl factor of Avogadro's number. I don't like it when artists or labels put out an ep that gives the customer nothing new. Blatant cash grab and the practice should be outlawed. Although I'm sure God didn't say, "Whattya mean I gotta give him two testicles? You think nuts grow on trees?" Mdk
  3. Artist: Various Title: Aliens Disco Label: NMC Music Date: 1997 1. Rhythmystec - Cathexis 2. Slinky Wizard - Slick Witch 3. Unconscious Collective - Fluorostani Transcendance 4. Tranceplant - Dying Planet 5. Tranceplant - Inverse Population 6. P. Cok - Em Em 7. Zouk feat. Transcendental E - Vicious 8. P. Cok - Ta Koli Oh look, you can get a mint copy of this on Discogs for only $80! Buy this if you like throwing your money down the toilet. Homie doesn't have a rating and still wants you to trust him to send you the CD after you fork over the 80 bucks? Yeah, that might happen. There is a better chance Salma Hayek will call me to give her a breast exam. "I realize this is taking a long time Mrs. Hayek and I appreciate your patience, but we must be absolutely sure." 80 f*cking dollars. I wouldn't pay 80 dollars for I.F.O. Ok maybe I would. Just uh, don't...don't tell my wife. Aside from that tremendous leap of faith there are a few good tracks here. Cathexis and Slick Witch are juicy favorites that spread the 303 love around. The Vicious track and Dying Planet were nice surprises as they also gave 303 lovers something to move to. P. Cok gives us both sides of their creativity with the sneaky Em Em, but then decides to see what it would sound like if they made one riff and then went to McDonalds. But 80 dollars? Are we even sure there's a human at the other end of that Discogs account? Mdk
  4. Artist: Various Title: The Sound of Goa Trance Label: SDR Music Date: 1995 1. Octopus - The Art of Trance 2. Adventure Trip One - Lords of Octagon 3. Uniform Planet (Orbit Trance) - GGE 4. It's Our Future - AWeX 5. Luna Music - Luna Music 6. Plastic Gourd - Quietman 7. Desert Sun - Adrenalin Drum 8. Pyramid Night - Silver Pyramid 9. Ultraviolet - Monosphere 10. New E-Volution - Adrenalin Drum I don't have any pants on. Sh*t. I work out. I mean I plan to, you know...plan to actually think about working out. But in the mean time. None. While that lovely image is swirling in your head I'll tell you why. For the first time in I don't know how many years I'm all by myself. Kids are at the grandparents, wife at work...I can do anything I want. There are things I have to do, but you just know that I will put them off until the absolute last minute. Never heard of this label nor most of the artists featured. I know Adrenalin Drum and the track Octopus. Well the MWNN mix anyway. So what you get is some cool acid trance (Adventure Trip One), acid trance with a bit of a house vibe (It's Our Future...they beat the hell out of that sample), exceedingly long and uneventful acid trance (Luna Music), some REALLY long and loud acid trance (Plastic Gourd), some sneaky and bubbly goa (Desert Sun), some progressive trancey goa (New E-Volution), and some filler. So...nothing really to write home about. I love the growl of a 303 as much as the next guy, but I need more. This was an album where the Discogs rating was close to spot on. Some good acid trance, but not the best the genre has to offer. But you'll always have that image of me with no pants. Your welcome. Mdk
  5. These two mixes of vintage Goa trance sounds were part of the Old School Mix Marathon V project that my blog, Sonicrampage, is very proud to present in collaboration with the Old School Electronica channel on DI.fm. Besides these two mixes, the other mixes cover hard trance, gabba, rave, and, from myself, an hour of vintage acid. Enjoy! 7. Artist: Various Title: Suncokreti Label: Ultiva Records Date: May, 2009 1. Where Have We Been - California Sunshine 2. Icon - Ra 3. Metempsychosis - E-Mantra 4. Serbia - Chemical Products 5. Sunrise Zone - Radical Distortion 6. Abandoned Souls - California Sunshine 7. Tesla - Travma 8. Bruxism - Amanians 9. Rumble Fish - Jikooha Ultiva Records came out with this very attractive lineup in 2009. Never heard of this lavel, but even Suntrip had to start somewhere right? I guess they're legit, they have a FB page and everything. "Hey f*cknut, my dog has a FB page it's no big deal." My answer to that is you need to get laid because I'm pretty sure that your dog didn't agree to the terms of service. There wasn't a review only info in the label announcement forum on this site. And it uh, well...it wasn't very kind. The cover is beautiful (who doesn't like sunflowers?) but if you read that thread apparently Suncokreti which was written in cyrillic means get your sh*t together and fix that mastering problem. This point having been driven home by RA himself (calling his track unrecognizable) and one of the gents from Radical Distortion gave his own account. Not a good sign if the artists on the comp don't have very flattering things to say. Or to put it another way. After completing his masterpiece the Venus De Milo the museum curator says, "Yeah that's great, but where are the f*cking arms you hack? Nah don't worry about it, I'll get my guy to finish it. Beat it." Where Have We Been- Ah the answer to the question nobody has been asking. This is a horribly boring track that only sever as a placeholder. Why would you start with this weak sh*t? The object is to draw the audience in. "I found him! Yeah that won't get the stink off, you knew it was weak." Icon- This one gets regular plays from me today. It's massively powerful, melodic and the essence of a big track. Metempsychosis- The Polish Prince delivers one of his signature dreamy and trippy tracks. Picture the cosmic ballet unfolding all around you as you attempt to take it all in. Even with the sh*tty mastering this is spectacular and a window into what he had in store. Serbia- I think you have had enough chemical products. While not terrible the leads themselves were annoying like the buzz of a mosquito. Still not as bad as California Sunshine. Sunrise Zone- This project was so pissed off at the lack of mastering quality that they put their track on the net for free download. Good on them. Fairly standard as far as new school goes, but it'll get your heart moving. Abandoned Souls- CS again? Fear not this is much better. It's amazing how good a track can be when you plug your equipment in. There is some real bite with the leads here. Like a 303 food fight. He's dead. Tesla- This is a bruising track from the Turkish mastermind. Loud leads and an unrelenting pace characterize this bomb. You sort it out. Bruxism- "Hey babe you won't believe who I bumped into today. My ex girlfriend of 6 years! I know right? We're going to the movies later to catch up. What's that grinding noise?" Bruxism- habitual grinding of teeth usually during sleep. Something must've pissed this guy off to name the track like this. Cell phone company? Girlfriend? Ending of the Office? All acceptable. Not the most complex, but stunningly effective and moving with its growly lead taking center stage. Rumblefish- Have you checked out his new album Sirius Rising? Me neither, but I will. Ultiva obviously couldn't figure out the math of mastering so what do you do? You get an Asian. Problem solved. That's such a bullsh*t stereotype. I had an Asian friend in Calculus class in college and all he wanted to do was get high. This was a good one to end on. Not overly powerful or full of twirling melodies just sturdy goa. And since I'm already on the fast track to hell... It's painful to see a Serbian label have such a problem mastering tracks. A sh*tload of today's goa artists are from the Balkans so it would make sense to figure this out. I haven't gotten any of their other releases so I can't say whether they've handled this issue. But it doesn't sound great. Shame because there are several good tracks here. Mdk I don't feel right linking to it.
  8. Artist: Eternal Bliss Title: Pyramids Label: Clubware Date: 1996 1. Hallucinate 2. Indiamagic 3. I Am I 4. Get Wired (Album Remix) 5. Pyramids 6. Phoenix 7. The Doors of Perception "Yeah baby, you are the new star. The new "it" project. We're gonna knock those amateurs from Etnica and Dimension 5 right outta the charts. All the elements are here for a classic album. Let's see, we've got a spir itual artist name with equally otherworldly track names. Multicolored cover that hints at previous alien visitation. The music? Why you gotta bring that up?" "Skip the first track, it's pure filler. If you're gonna title the track Hallucinate you might wanna, I dunno, make the listener hallucinate. Aw f*ck it leave it in there, it costs too much to clean it up. It shows that you're edgy. Besides I spent your studio money at the track. How the hell a dog named Flash could finish last is beyond me. Don't worry, don't worry...Trust me bubbala, I know what I'm doing." Indiamagic- "This is a delightful tribal goa romp with long evolving pads that seem so exotic to the gullible American audience. Can you just picture the Indian non union equivalent of Eddie Van Halen tearing it up on guitar with ridiculous faces for the camera? The kids'll eat it up I tell ya! I'm sorry did I say guitar? How stupid...I meant sitar!" "So whattya think the teacher's gonna look like this year?" I Am I- "Hey...make sure you get that monotonous I AM I chant in there. Nah, I don't give a f*ck how many times the sheeple will eat it up. C'mon they're so whacked out on drugs they won't care. Almost 12 minutes? Perfect! It'll be like a personal conversation with Vishnu or Allah or whoever the f*ck they pray to." God help me I didn't hate it. I should've. Really should've...but I didn't. Get Wired (Album Remix)- "I've got this riff I've been working on." "Can you milk it for 8 minutes?" "What? I mean...I guess I could...sure I'll try." This was a remix? How f*cking bad was the original? Pyramids- The intro and the breaks are vivid symphonic phrases that are in constant motion. Almost makes you forget that nothing else is going on. At all. Zero. Although the Top-Gun esque guitar made me smile. Phoenix- "I said relax, I didn't say stop producing. Bad news...I blew the rest of your per diem on a new venture. Grandmasluts.com...it's gonna be big...HUGE! And wipe that white sh*t off your nose you're gonna get us both arrested. No problem...we'll clean it up in post production. Oh for f*cks sake don't give me the sad puppy dog eyes...everyone does it. How do you think we made Kesha a star? You better start wising up.." It's more lower tier goa with some very good string work. And that's what keeps happening with this release. On the whole the tracks aren't very good or interesting, but there are parts that are nice that make it easier to overlook the obvious deficiencies. Doors of Perception- "I dunno what you should call the last one. Who gives a f*ck? They all sound the same anyway. Call it wrinkly ball sac for all I care. Here, let's go to the net. Here's a good one...Doors of Perception. Ha! I knew it, gold! Cosmosis already has this track name so we can just piggy back off of them! Hippies are stupid, all you gotta do is throw them a carrot and they'll follow it." Aside from the juicy bass line, this track is just wandering around the desert. I was poised to rip this a new one, but the more I listened to it, the more I found some actual musicality here. It's still goa on that lower level , but as I mentioned before there were instances in the tracks that were very appealing. Essential? Far, far from it. Unless you really like colorful triangles. But I think it's better than a lot of the generic psy coming out these days. Which brings me to their next album released a mere 15 years later called...wait for it...Full Om. Where the hell were you on this one Draeke. Huh? Where.Were.You. Could've had unreleased Eternal Bliss for probably a tenth of what it cost to release Etnica. You need to speak to my promoter. Mdk
  9. Artist: Various Title: Party Outlaw Trance Label: Black Flame Date: 1997 1. Neurobic - KoxBox 2. Zoa (Remix) - K.U.R.O. 3. Full On - Etnica 4. Levitation - Mr. Beam 5. Shape The Future - MFG 6. Space Train - Phoenix 7. Gecko Ecko - Psy Phy 6 8. Flight of The Phoenix - Phoenix Once I handle my responsibilities, I'll review whatever catches my fancy. All over the map sometimes. I look at this track list and say, "All right, MFG, KURO, KoxBox, and Etnica...that's pretty good." Black Flame is a division of Blue Flame which I assume is just 2 guys lighting their farts on fire. If you know of a better way to light a candle I'm listening... I don't really know, but I do know that they are also all over the map with what they release. From downtempo and chill to Euro House. If you study the cover one will notice is the word I-B-I-Z-A on the cover. No matter how "outlaw" you portend to be, it's kinda like riding a motorcycle with Hello Kitty on it. Bad Ass! 127 more payments and it's all mine. You probably didn't need me to tell you that this is pretty benign as far as goa goes. The tracks by the well known names are good, but you probably already have those. On top of that it's mixed and poorly at that. Abrupt transitions like over enthusiastic dancing guy keeps hitting my f*cking table. The rest of the tracks are subpar. I tell you whom I am most disappointed by. Draeke. Etnica unreleaseds? Whatever. Where the hell were you with the lost tracks from Phoenix? Talk about dropping the ball... Mdk

  13. Hello Everyone, most of you know my love for DAT tapes and unreleased oldschool goa trance, but there is something that bothers me, and that is unknown unnamed tracks and obscure untraceable artists. I long time ago joined Pavlos in the venture of organizing and categorizing the unreleased tracks on discogs to have a guide, a reference and know who made what and what was never released. But during my DAT ripping ventures I have found obscure project names, no name tracks, fake names etc and therefore I decided to give the good old youtube a go. Why not post the first 4 minutes of all my unknowns? There is a chance someone knows them and can help me out. So I have started uploading the first 23 tracks I had around, here they are, more coming soon! http://www.youtube.com/user/draeke604/videos?view=0 Any help, comment, idea, is welcome. Feel free to comment below the videos on youtube. Draeke PS: the goal, beside categorizing and classification, is to help me compile the compilation I want to release on DAT soon enough, I want to use some of these no names and I wouldn't like to have to release them as "name it yourself" tracks on the sleeve
  14. Artist: Asia 2001 Title: Anti's Trax Label: Trans'Pact Productions Date: 1994 1. Planet JX 2. Cosmic Shamanish Like a lot of you I am always on the hunt for undiscovered goa trance and long forgotten EP's. So when I came across this 2 tracker from the legendary Asia 2001 (Gilbert Thevenet) I scooped it up immediately. Have you seen all the aliases he used? He was either on the run or Filipe Santos two decades earlier. Now you can also find these on a compilation called The Spirit of Goa Trance Vol. 1 also released by Trans'Pact. And...like a lot of music that is 20 years old it sounds like it. Planet JX sounds extremely primitive and raw and I don't mean that in a good way. It's nice to go back in time and see how it was, but sometimes it ain't pretty. Cosmic Shamanish is clearly the more accessible of the two and drips with that old school flavor. This is red one room Little House on the Prarie old school. His cutoff knob gets a workout as he wrings the sound of the 303 for all it's worth. And while not as polished as the stuff today (how did your cell phone look 20 years ago) it's still got the character that made old school so cool. Can you get Fruit Ninja on this thing? Mdk
  15. Hi. This time I supposed to summarize "goodies" that made me impressed in 2012 (and wasn't necessarily released within that year). Ouch, did I mentioned I punched even one dub step song inside? mix.dj: http://www.mix.dj/mixes/4745119/moonspaplayground_diaries_podcast_02 mixcloud: http://www.mixcloud.com/moonspa/playground-diaries-podcast-02 Looking forward for your comments, enjoy. 16. Artist: Galactic Mantra Title: Wings of Time EP Label: ACP Records Date: February, 2012 1. Dance With The Ancient 2. Gate of Light Spirits 3. Illusionary Rock 4. Lost Planet 5. Wings of Time Eden Azulay is the mind behind this project released by Filipe Santos and his ACP Records label. I could bullsh*t you and say that this great goa trance, that the melodies twist amongst each other bringing you to nirvana while weaving an intricate story. But I would be lying. And I only lie to girls. This is pretty boring and more of a notepad of ideas that seems unfinished. The 2 minute Illusionary Rock interlude? It has promise, but flesh that thing out and make a full track. The first two tracks were typical full-on that has been done 8 million times before. Which is surprising because Filipe (runs label) constantly preaches doing something different. The whole thing sounds rather generic. Lost Planet isn't bad but it's length to idea ratio is way too high. Gotta trim the fat so to speak. Wings of Time is the best for me here as it approaches some Astral Projection greatness without reaching it. Melodic trance for sure. But as always judge for yourselves, they were nice to make it a free release. Free at ACP Records Mdk

  18. Artist: Aural Planet Title: Part: Second Label: Planet Rec. Date: 2000 1. Secret Garden 2. Samadhi 3. Reminiscenter Incorporated 4. Lunarplanetarium 5. Trip To Nowhere 6. Psi Generator 7. Semirotation 8. Eternal Totem 9. Prayp 10. Polar Valves When you say Poland to me three things come to mind. "Get your hand of my sau...no, no...that's good, that's good. Keep it there...yeah, just like that." "Yeah I'm looking for a size 9 extra wide?" Good God I need boundaries. "Here you go father, take this...Nah, go ahead take it. Get yourself a new gym at the Vatican." But ladies and gentlemen I'm here to tell you there is something else. Goa trance. You may know some of these fine Polish gentlemen as the project Sundial Aeon making all that nice floaty downtempo smoothness, but with their second album they stuck you with a hot poker that you'll not soon forget. If you heard it that is. This is very underrated goa album that isn't mentioned often. It's got some bark starting with the Secret Garden. Sharp and snappy that cut up vocal is the stuff of angels. Reminiscenter is full of bubbling sounds and good goa flavor. Semirotation has some nifty knob twisting that reminds me of my teen years with that chick when I thought I knew what I was doing. Drifting with some great melody work away from the beat. Prayp...*sigh* You best take that 4 minute weak sh*t somewhere else son. Call me when it's finished. They end with Polar Valves (also on their Chilling Cuts Vol. 1 album) which is a futuristic downtempo piece with some dnb influences. Very metallic, but doesn't really fit with the rest of the album at all. Dude on the cover is really shiny. Made of gold or rubbed it down with a few sticks of butter? Your call. Far from being a perfect album, they do manage to put some stormers in there. The last few tracks though made me think they were bored with the whole thing and went back to doing what they do best. The shorter track times also reinforce that thought. Not to sound like a bad Blues Brothers take, but I wouldn't mind if they tried to get the band back together. Mdk

  20. A bit more psychedelic this one. At first it had a bit more layers but it sounded a bit too hectic, hope I got a good balance now, I still wonder a bit. 21. Artist: Cydonia Titlle: Lightning Rods EP Label: Blue Room Released Date: 1999 A. Lightning Rods B. King of New York "New York is boring." Well of course it is since Guiliani cleared out all the peep shows. Now it's like Disneyland. Only with a lot less profanity. Another EP by the authors of dark goa trance. For me their album In Fear of a Dark Planet was a classic and a must listen for every goa fan. Nah, f*ck that you need to own that b*tch. Just like with the Mind Hunter EP you get one track from their album and one that you probably never heard of. Lightning Rods is the former and it is a thick beast of goa trance. Darkness at level 11 with an evil smirk that is part Matrix and part FLA. It's got bounce and bubbling acid ready to scald. King of New York is an example of the direction the goa movement seemed to be heading in 1999. A little on the minimal side and more psytrance than goa. Still, it's a good track with a storming bass line. Good EP by this trio that I can recommend. Mdk
  22. Artist: Cydonia Title: Mind Hunter EP Label: Blue Room Released Date: 1997 1. Mind Hunter 2. The Kiddy 3. Chrome Android One of my favorite projects was Cydonia with their delightfully dark take on goa trance, they pulled off a monster of a debut album with In Fear of a Dark Planet. Shame they only made one album, but I recently came across this EP and couldn't wait to hear it. Mind Hunter was of course featured on Planet and is an evil evolving tale with sinister effects creating a symphonic nightmare. It was the other two tracks that I have never heard before that had the 'ol dander up. The Kiddy has its share of sharp leads and eerie atmosphere making it a track that would've felt right at home on their album. Chrome Android is a heavily techno influenced track that has its fingers in the psy and goa pie. Metallic melodies are present though as if the dark force responsible let a few get away. Or maybe it's a trap. Their dark style reminds me of Syb Unity Nettwerk and goes down very smoothly. While the title track steals the show, the others are great as well. Mdk
  23. what do you say about my new one? https://soundcloud.com/g_o_o_b/euweu nice day fellows!
  24. Artist: Doruk Title: Astral Colours Label: Ezel-Ebed Records Date: December, 2011 1. Alien In My Room (intro) 2. UFO 3. Astral Colours 4. Space Journey 5. Core Of The Universe 6. No Gravity 7. Astrophysics 8. Eyes Of The Moon 9. You Are Not Perfect Always on board for new goa trance I came across this a bit ago. It's a digital download and oddly enough the only place I could find it was on Beatspace. These are tracks made by Doruk in the years 2005-2008 packaged into a nice space themed album. Alien In My Room (Intro)- We begin with a brief intro that sounds like aliens are doing a sweep of this guys room with some superior sensor technology. Ignoring the semen stained sheets and the leftover hamburger helper left in the corner they come to realize they might not need back up. UFO- "What is that...smell?" 8. 8 times that sample was used. And that's just the whole sample. I'm not counting the times where he just said "what" or "smell". 8 times. I like masturbating, but I don't think I could squeeze out that many knuckle children during one track. Ridiculous. Part flowing goa-lite and part epic trance which was completely overshadowed by the overuse of the above sample. Astral Colours- It seems to have all the ingredients that would make a good goa track, but...it's missing power. Force and anger. That extra kick in the nuts that blows your wig back. If Portamento and Artifact303 are heavy metal than this is Air Supply. Not that that's bad. I can see this being played in an elevator. If it was, it would be the coolest elevator of all time. Space Journey- "Did you ever think what it takes to live as long as I have?" I liked this better. Darker and more twisted with some good layering. Pumping and flowing with a great sample and outer space leads. Very Astral Projection. Back when they made music...and not just promises. Core of the Universe- More ripping space leads that leave an acidic taste in my mouth. It is a track that hypnotizes and constantly twists and turns. Solid No Gravity- With an aggressive bass line he takes no prisoners. Couple that with a nice, searing 303 and you've got all the makings. It's pushing your spacecraft in tight 360 degree revolutions to avoid enemy fire while the stars whizz past. At each brief break it reorganizes and continues it's assault. Astrophysics- Astrophysics? That was me on the first day of class. Not proud of that moment... But he obviously gets it. If there was one track that could be called an Astral Projection clone, it would be this one. And that is not meant as an insult. Analog space leads, thumping kick, dark atmosphere...beautiful. Eyes of the Moon- I'm thinking that this is unfinished due to the short track length. It's more floating and trancey, but no less entertaining. Surely there is more of a story to tell here? You Are Not Perfect- One you get a pass on, but two short...blurbs? That's just a tease. Punishment will follow accordingly. That wasn't me! I didn't do that! I DID NOT DO THAT!!! *drops riding crop and quickly backs out of basement* First the bad. With the intro and the two short tracks at the end you get more of a 6 track EP. Which is why I suppose it is a digital download only. But if that's the case, why offer them at all. Spend the extra time and finish those two to make a proper album. Now for the good. This was great work. Really, it was. I wasn't so sure after the first third, but he saved the knockout blow for the rest of the album. Dark, atmospheric, melodic. The comparisons to Astral canot be helped. I mean, sh*t it's in the title. What more could you want? Thanks to Ezel for intoducing this artist. I know these tracks are old, but here's to hoping that he is working on some new material. 25. Artist: Various Title: Goa Trance Volume Six Label: Rumour Records Date: 1997 1. Project Oblivion - Conspiracy Theory 2. The Spirit - Sourmash 3. Drama - ManMadeMan 4. Alien Hitmen - Slide 5. Starkissed (Aroma Venus Mix) - The Secret 6. Crowd Nine - Eco 7. Abraxis - The Shining Path 8. Omnifarious Splifferous - Shamanic Tribes of Acid 9. Planet Bliss - Super Skunk 10. Spectre - Blue Book The multi appendaged deity is back with the 6th installment of the Goa Trance series by Rumour Records. I think they got up to 7 in the series and if you've heard one of them then you know that they follow a formula. You get a couple of big names with well known hits and then drown them in a copious amount of mediocrity. The standouts for me were the ManMadeMan track Drama and Eco's Crowd Nine as the stormers here. Slide's Alien Hitmen is a close second with a crunchy technoish texture and the surprisingly good Abraxis unfolded with a lot of dark appeal. The rest? Not very impressive and quite forgettable. Chances are good that you already have the good tracks so it's hardly necessary to own. However if you are a completionist like me then your damn OCD compels you to get this like the power of Christ would. Mdk
