  1. Hello, psynews' members, I have entered the Trance scene quite recently and find myself overwhelmed by the amount of content and subgenres. Concerning Goa/Psy, I have acquired a taste for Filteria's Lost In The Wild, Mindsphere's Patience for Heaven and Etnoscope. I am an avid listener of the intense, fast, aggressive goa/psy. In summary, music to dance to at the top of your heart whilst travelling between its endless layers. In the Progressive side of things, Neelix as a whole was somewhat pleasurable. Regarding Full on, Indra in general, 1200 Microgram's 1200 Mic's (its latest album), Astrix's Artcore, as well as some The Misted Muppet have gathered my interest. Apropos of Dark/Forest, I am enjoying Kiriyama. However, this is the subgenre I have less experience with and feel the most lost. I do not even know if it is all right to categorize Dark and Forest together, but the differences go still unnoticed to me. All in all, I would be glad to receive some recommendations on albums/artists for each Trance subgenre I am getting into, as well as other genres I might be overlooking. As I have said, there is too much content around and I feel kind of astonished. There is no concern on my part in the sense of tracks' release dates: old, new; as long as it pleases my ears, I am fine with it. Just throw around some 3 albums/artists that you consider the best since the birth of Trance to this very day and I will be grateful. With kind regards, naa

  11. there is a purpose, perceived as beyond our understanding, like we are not supposed to understand, but glimpses of fate, beyond coincidence toy with our submission, allowing us to see, then it gets too much, you gradually turn your back on what you saw, but somehow it will always make its way back, sacred reminders. sacred clues, like a mother nursing her child, controlling the essence of life as we drink from her mind. sometimes we experience instances as individual souls, situations that confuse us. until one day you have a relisation of what you were experiencing, like you had just become aware of existence and beyond for the first time. you see the true purpose, and you want everyone else to see it top. you need them to, such a vital strand of life. this is why music is important to me and im sure alot of other people too, as the true difference in humanity will come from relisation within ones self...what better way to provoke this then through the force of sound its self. here is a link to my music, i am beginning but pushing for the utter most pure intentions. id dig some support..., respect. lucy illume xoxo http://www.ektoplazm.com/free-music/illume-illusive-pulse http://www.noqualmsrecords.com/illume.html https://soundcloud.com/lucyjay

  15. Undertaker – Night Stories Album: Night Stories Artist: Undertaker Genre: Full On, Twilight Size: 179MB License: CC Price: Free and Donations Track List: 01 - Maniac Killa 02 - Anonymous Absolution 03 - Unhuman (Undertaker Remix) 04 - Uskyldig Offer 05 - 3 Days On Dark 06 - Nuclear Man 07 - Purple Haze (Undertaker Remix) 08 - Cyborg Rebelion 09 - Big Mentira 10 - Last Two Boys Scouts I listened to this album a few times and my favorite thing about it was the wonderfully solid baselines. This reminds me of Orca, another Full-On Night producer who plugs in some hard electro inspirations into his productions. The difference between his music and Undertakers music is the quality, however. Even though Undertakers baselines hit each track hard, there are a few tracks here I did not enjoy as much as I thought I would. The artist does a fantastic job in creating some thick, gooey, and massive bass progressions that are destined for dancing, but there are many areas I feel are claustrophobic with sounds. These areas ruin the vibes for me, and urge me to only play segments of the track rather than the full song. There are many tracks that are simply repetitive and focus solely on that great bass… but I crave more progression, feeling, and climax from this nighttime style. The mastering is pretty good for most tracks, although at times they seems to focus on the low end spectrum. For example, the third song, Unhuman, has a lot of high frequencies that need to be toned down. I have to skip this track with my headphones on and they rattle my car. The next bit, Uskyldig Offer, has better mastering until the song jams sounds together near the two minute mark. That rising synth in the background is pretty cool, however, and I enjoy the buildup. If those sounds were layered correctly, this would be a fantastic track. The progression is very good, especially when it says “You are not alone” and kicks that delicious beat we crave right into Full-On action. At the four minute marker, the ambience in the background is awesome! Work on piecing together the puzzle pieces in a neater fashion and you can do great things. Right now, not all the pieces match the big picture. Specifically, the edgy lightning-sounding synths are too loud. Try filtering them a bit. Hidden in the album, there are a few very well done gems I can see myself playing on the dance floor when the moon rises high in the air. Nuclear Man is an excellent edgy full on experience that will please many ears. The sounds are mixed well together and progress into a well done style. If only every track was this good, then this album would earn higher praise. The voices really pull me in deep. The sounds go well together, and that is why I love it. In many tracks, a lot of the instruments are not as thought out. My advice would be to focus on your best sounds, plug them in all directions to be perfectly fitting and surround, engulf the listener in unexpected progression climaxes, and keep moving the crowds with your crystal clear basses. I would love to see more from you! Keep it up. Look back to Purple Haze… now, that one you did right! 7/10 Download here on Ektoplazm (MP3, FLAC, WAV) - Review by FatKidWitaJetPak (Nick Sumbles) - Special Thank to Ektoplazm for the download bandwidth.
  16. Romeodark – Shadeflower Album: Shadeflower Artist: Romeodark Genre: Darkpsy, Forest, Psycore Size: 165MB License: CC Price: Free and Donations Track List: 01 - My Travel Into The Deep Sadness 02 - Snow Walkers 03 - Terra Of Cold 04 - Aural Hologram 05 - Crystal Save U 06 - Good Bye Night 07 - Hospitality 08 - Hysteria 09 - Intro 10 - Psynesthesia After listening to a lot of Psytrance, the typical intro with an expected forthcoming beat gets old after a while. I am always searching for that extra bit of spice to be added, craving a different mixture of heart throbbing ambience to start the mood. First impressions are sometimes very important, especially for an album meant to introduce doors of opportunity, opportunities that can lead listeners into a very rewarding journey. Romeodark – Shadeflower will delight any psychedelic enthusiast, building a series of wonderful tones and a mixture of light and dark to bring you a slowly building forest sound set. The beat keeps coming and going, accompanied by constantly changing, yet harmonic paces. It is easy to get lost in the music, and it will make you smile with a nice touch of euphoria. True forest is learned from experience rather than definition, as described by Ektoplazm. It has taken me a while to truly understand what that means, but this album has helped me understand that its more than the BPM and music theory. It has to do with the journey. Its about how you can close your eyes and climb through every dark and light corner of your mind as the vibrations in your ears twist and turn your reality into a deep, subconscious self-realization. It can take a while for this to happen, but this album is a definite must for anyone searching for this. I can feel myself growing to understand more and feel more. It opens minds. The composition is extremely unique. There is more than just dark beat patterns. There are melodies passing through every minute, offering a multitude of emotions and expressions. From the artist, in my perspective, I can feel his travels through depression. Walking through snow, staring into seemingly nothingness while trying to search for hope, only to find confusion and chaos. It is almost as if he is begging for others to listen and feel what he is. What words can not describe, his music can embrace. It is certainly up to the listener to interrupt what all of it means, but the great thing is it can mean anything. All in all, it simply causes you to feel… well, anything. The artist plants a seed into our minds, and then it explodes into a pretty awesome creation. Diversity at its finest is sewn into every stitch, neatly putting together a colorful and complex organism. This singularity, this album, is one of those “top of the charts” but “underrated masterpieces” that you have got to slow down and experience. Every piece is vastly different from one another, ranging from 150BPM to 200BPM. when Jellyfish Recordings say his style is like no other, they really do mean it. Download this right now and get a mouth watering taste of true psychedelic juiciness. 10/10 Download here on Ektoplazm (MP3, FLAC, WAV) - Review by FatKidWitaJetPak (Nick Sumbles) - Special Thank to Ektoplazm for the download bandwidth.

This was a nice surprise. Think of it as darkpsy atmosphere with minimal structures and some techno sensibilities. All the tracks are moody with a simplistic kick and loaded with effects. The sounds of alien creatures can be heard constantly with lots of bubbling and electronic wheezes. Sometimes it can get very lush and descriptive and sometimes it can go on way too long. I like effects tumbling over the kick, but when there is not a lot else it can get tiring to listen to. My favorite was Techno Trousers by Brujo's Bowl. Get it free at Ektoplazm Mdk
