  1. Artist: Various Title: Greenosophy Label: Ultimae Records Date: February, 2012 1. Initial - MNNSK AND MIZOO FEAT ANA GOLDIN 2. Tear-blind eyes - Rildrim 3. Minimum - Liquid Stranger 4. Emerge - Sesen 5. Idea Spiral (Ozora Festival 2011 live edit) - Cell 6. Nubian Sandstone - Ajja 7. Subzero - Tripswitch 8. Cobalt 2.0 - Solar Fields 9. Flying Dots - Miktek 10. Folding Pattern - James Murray 11. Brokenm dream of little snail - Cygna Ultimae is the name in chill out or psybient music that creates the perfect soundtrack for any mood. Each release seems to shine with quality and this is no exception. Compiled by Mizoo this mixed journey mirrors the mood of the cover. The opener is an extended intro really, but Tear Blind Eyes burrows deep into the eerie with echoing tones. Listening to this while atop a mountain staring down into the thick green forest reminds me of all that's hidden from view. Long ambient with obvious comparisons to Soil Festivities by Vangelis. Minimum travels in the same gloomy vein but now with a steady cadence until even that drops out. The sounds of water breathe life into the track. Emerge has a slow lamenting opening rife with regret as it slides into progressive territory. Lush layers ensure that it doesn't lose any of its storytelling ability Idea Spiral by Cell is a slow motion flyby of the awesome splendor of the Himalayan mountains. It's one of those tracks that rides the same melody for its entire length even with the tempo increase. The view is breathtaking. Nubian Sandstone is comprised of delicate alien textures coupled with a smooth jazzy groove. The sounds echoing in my headphones make me smile as I feel if I were to touch them they would dissipate like vapor. Half the length of the previous track, but twice the emotion. Subzero awakens like a dazzling dawn with the most driving beat yet. A snapshot into a new age full of wonder and promise; as if a breath of energy restored the husk of a depleted city. But lest you believe this to be a utopia Solar Fields reminds the listener dark days lie ahead. Cobalt 2.0 is in the ambient trance style with wailing synth spirits and gentle pads. Leads run softly beside an imposing mood. Flying Dots slows things down again with head nodding percussion as the movement retreats to the underground. Heavy casualties were suffered and it's time for the resistance to lick its wounds. Better to live to fight another day. Folding Pattern is drone style ambient with a rhythmic clicking that while atmospheric doesn't hold the depth and gravitas found in the other tracks. Think of it as a long interlude. Broken Dream of a Little Snail could be the trailer for the upcoming Disney movie Turbo, but I doubt it. With heavenly voices it seems too lofty for a snail, but I don't know any snails so...Or maybe that's the point. If you're gonna dream...dream big. Melancholy acoustic guitars and violins make this an evolving and lush closer. Good job Ultimae you've once again created something that is ideal for daydreaming. Highly recommended. 5. Sattyananda Sonic Mandalas Audio Aashram Tracklist: 1. Open Reflections 2. Heady Messages 3. Other Planets 4. Twisted Realms 5. You're Safe 6. Things We Share Our Planet With 7. Sonic Mandalas Indian producer Sattyananda first came to my attention with his great album Mind Expansion in 2014. A techno friend, surprisingly enough, approached me with it and suggested I give it a whirl, thinking it would be right up my alley. She was right and this year's Sonic Mandalas reinforces my opinion of his work. Whereas Mind Expansion tended to rely pretty heavily on samples, very much reflecting the producer's fascination with shamanistic rituals and extraterrestrial life, Sonic Mandalas relies heavily on the music itself and the approach is beautifully realized. Most of these tracks are slow in unfolding, patiently building toward higher tempos. In many of these moments the introductions are often decidedly ambient, carefully arranged and gorgeously effective. When the tempos gather themselves up into a down tempo range the impeccably delivered beats, grooves and rhythms are subtle, chill, deliciously relaxing. Sattyananda has a skill for tapping into alien frequencies, delivering odd sonic sound structures without going overboard on the weird aspect, keeping almost all of these tracks on a friendly and awe-inspiring level. There is little more to do than to let the gorgeousness of the opening trio on "Open Reflections," "Heady Messages" and "Other Planets" wash over you and the magic becomes obvious. "Twisted Realms" is a bit more memorable on the groove and melody fronts and my choice for the finest of this bunch. "Things We Share Our Planet With" becomes a bit more liberal with samples than the rest of this bunch but even those are kept to an agreeable minimum, as smart-talking philosophical interludes that enhance the musical message without detracting from the sonic spell itself. As a conclusion, the title track, like the majority of the album, is very fine psychedelic fodder. Aptly, Sonic Mandalas are mini-universes of rich and captivating sound and, on the whole, an exquisite artist album. Sattyananda
  6. Mystic Sound Records is happy to present the mini-album of Tsykhra - Mankind Under The Microscope. Tracklist: 01. 11035m Below Sea Level 02. Colonization (Re-Charge) 03. Mankind Under The Microscope Release info: Mystic Sound Records is happy to present the mini-album of Tsykhra - Mankind Under The Microscope. Tsykhra (Sergey Kunitsyn) is an artist from Belgorod, Russia, whose music style has been trasforming since 1998 till now from drum’n’bass and techno through commercial trance and has ended its evolution at a boundless form built with inspiring rhythmic patterns containing all imaginable sound palettes. He loves experimenting and values harmony of musical, timbral and engineering content. This EP is a musical trilogy about human beings, their aspirations and dreams. The sea is deep but the space is deeper, there is so much to explore. Colonization is a sound of technology and inventions. 11035m Under The Sea is a sound of adventure. Mankind Under The Microscope is a sound of divine care. All 3 tracks were born under sudden afflatus, they are something new in Tsykhra’s musical career. Stylistically the mini-album music is a bright mix of PsyBreaks, PsyChill and Psybient. Groovy beats, fat basslines, modulated melodies, all together lead you to an unbelievable psychedelic journey. 7. Artist: Various Title: Enfold 01 Label: Ultimae Records Date: December, 2014 1. Scann-Tec - Rewind 2. Fingers In the Noise - Sensitive Mind 3. I Awake - Winter Shell 4. Martin Nonstatic - Oak Branches 5. Lars Leonhard - Frost 6. Miktek - Serene 7. Circular - Lunokhod (Winter Mix) 8. Master Margherita & Ermetico - Blue Fish (Winter Mix) 9. Asura - Lumiere Noire 10. Aes Dana - Beneath Celebrating 15 years of relaxing chill music Ultimae released a gift for fans of the label. This freely downloadable compilation is available on their website in 12 or 24 bit format and showcases a who's who of artists. Let's begin with the cover of a flower encased in ice. It was certainly apropos for my area when we got two feet of snow dumped on us. My son hadn't gone to school in a week and the temperature was hovering around -1F. What the f*ck Canada? The album begins chilled with frozen pads and slow percussive beats. And that's where it stays not unlike that flower attempting to escape its ice prison. Cold winds blow on Winter Shell as sunlight reflects off the snow covered landscape, but instead of being dark and depressing, it offers hope. Hope in the knowledge that warmer temps and spring blooms will soon arrive. You can hear the foliage attempting to push forth through cracking ice on Oak Branches. Lunokhod harnesses the spectacle of sunlight gleaming off of icy surfaces with lush pads and smooth female vocals. Blue Fish...hmmmm. It doesn't seem to belong even if it's the Winter Mix, but it's still a mellow enjoyable track. Asura gets things back on the desolate and frozen track with his long ambient soundscapes revealing how vast the Antarctic mountainous desert really is. If aliens took up residence in the frozen wasteland this would be their soundtrack. Aes Dana closes with bubbles trapped in ice just in case you didn't know it was winter. This is a great album that captures the winter atmosphere and is helped along by being mixed. It's one long frozen journey with some great tracks and some that seem like place holders. But put it all together and it works. The sound is top notch and Ultimae's gift succeeds in putting the listener smack dab into the music. A free gift that is greatly appreciated, but... Now I'm f*cking cold. Free at Ultimae Records Website Mdk
  8. 1. Alone In Canoe 2. Eagle's Tale 3. Tears Of Thunder Spirit (Blue Mix) 4. Hanblicheya (Blue Mix) 5. Fighting With Unchegila 6. Dreamers Of Black Hills (Blue Mix) 7. Vision Of Star Woman (Big Deeper Mix) 8. Tribute For Hiawatha 9. Uenuku (Blue Mix) 10. Peta-Owi Hankeshni! Well I logged in for the first time in 6 years just to post this! This album did not get released within the Psy scene, so I think it would be a shame if it fell through the cracks. It's melodious, harmonic, rhythmic, emotional downtempo music that will take your mind and feelings for a spin. The whole album has a very definite style to it, yet each track brings something new and not a single one leaves me feeling flat, it's elation throughout. Ones that really stand out for me are 5 and 6. I'm sorry if this review doesn't say much, but I lack eloquence to translate this music into words. You can listen to the whole album on YouTube, and chances are you will already buy it before you get halfway: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D9JV4XnrCf0

  11. Artist: Various Title: 6th Element or The Missing Elements Label: Altar Records Date: May, 2011 1. Astropilot - Inside the Harmony (Astral Waves remix) 2. Zymosis - Zeta Being (original version without flute) 3. Dreaming Cooper - Space Trip 4. Elea - Paisley Faces (Eternity Remix) 5. Suduaya - Salutation To The Planets 6. Elea feat. Bahramji - Menne Divonne 7. Tentura - Uzm247 8. Sysyphe - Mindscare 9. Ephemeral Mists - Awakening Spirits (Peyote mix) 10. Chronos & C.J. Catalizer - Quid Est Veritas (Air mix) 11. Asura - Vangelis Everyone got their cloud recliner in full, resting position? Good. Altar records is delivering what could be the final part of their beautiful Element series with the 6th Element. First thing you'll notice is there is no such thing as a 6th element. Kinda like a sixth Beatle. At least on this planet. But the "missing elements" found here are overflow tracks that didn't find a place on the other installments of the series. Put together and mastered by Mr. Altar himself (DJ Zen) the compilation opens with an epic ambient track remixed by Astral Waves. And what a floating neural massage it is. Zymosis provides his track Zeta Bieng from the Air compilation now with less flute. Which is a shame because it sounded fuller with the flute. However the coming out of the break seemed more dramatic in this version. Space Trip is a melancholy orbit around a planet (or a pretty good backing for a Lionel Richie track) while I couldn't tell you anything about Paisley Faces. Salutation to the Planets had an annoying chant over a cheesy uplifting melody and then Bahramji tops it. Didn't think it was possible, but don't let anyone ever tell you that you can't do something. So...right about now my cloud is beginning to darken and become a little lumpy. Is this a downtempo compilation or soundtrack to an ISIS training video? Uzm247 (what?) is a better piece of downtempo that builds to a strong climax and Mindscare is more on the darker side of things with a dub-like bass line and a strong snare. Liked that one. Awakening Spirits is a slow hallucinogenic dirge with Indian vocals that appeals to me even if it sounds like a slowed down goa track. The Air mix of Quid Est Veritas sounds identical to the track from the album of the same name while Asura closes on a saccharine sweet note that could very well be a Vangelis track. Not being an anthropologist I cannot declare this with abject certainty, but I believe the missing elements are called B-sides. It's not mixed and there is no flow to the tracks at all. It felt like they were just thrown together. They're not terrible by any stretch, but if you spent $10,000 on a hover cloud expecting to float away you're gonna be disappointed. Of course if you spent $10K on a floating cloud ten more bucks ain't gonna mean that much to you. And can I be your friend? Well, since I'm not an anthropologist I guess there is nothing wrong with sticking them back where I found them. You know...to preserve them and sh*t. Yeah, that's it. Pinkie Pie! Apple Jack! Get to diggin! Altar Bandcamp Mdk
  12. Florian - Twilight Horizon: a psychedelic dub adventure (2015) https://soundcloud.com/flo_on_decks/florian-twilight-horizon-a-psychedelic-dub-adventure My name is Florian, and I'm a DJ / producer from Victoria, BC, Canada, and I've been spinning tunes in the psychedelic downtempo / mid-tempo genres (also trance) for about 15 years. I managed a nightclub in downtown Victoria for five years, which catered heavily to the psychedelic community here. I decided to quit to pursue a more money-making career, in hopes of being able to throw bigger shows, and bring artists like Cosmosis to Vancouver BC. This is my first released mix in this genre since 2004, so it features my favorite timeless tracks from over the past ten years. I hope you enjoy it Tracklisting: 01) Adrift in Hilbert Space - Ott 02) The Portal - Kaminanda 03) Electroplasm - Shpongle 04) Indifference (Hibernation rmx) - Grouch 05) Neon Tetra - Umberloid 06) Keep Falling - Jazzanova 07) Super Dry - Master Margherita 08) How the Future Sounded - Kuba 09) Shimmer - Bluetech 10) The Himalaya - Cosmosis 11) Silver (Robot Baby mix) - Tripswitch 12) Earthgarden (Jong rmx) - Nada

  14. I would like to present you our new album made by czech producer I-One - "Flowerfull". Music was inspired by shapes of petals, seeds and blossoms and apart from synthetizers there are sequences of acoustic instruments and field recordings. Multi-instrumentalist Ivan Jasek aka I-One, from Brno Czech republic, is active in Shivanam band (and many other projects) and they are roaming music festivals in Europe summer time. Their music can be described as psychedelic world music played on electronic and ethnic instruments, guitars, flutes, indian, middle-east and african drums. Ivan himself is as well playing his own vision of psytrance and goa music live. Often using acoustic instruments and original approach in synthesiz. If you like this music and you want to support our future releases, please buy it on: http://i-one.bandcamp.com/album/flowerfull We are available as well on Spotify, iTunes, Google Play etc. http://www.surf10rec.net

And something seems to take place." California Love! This guy based on the left coast invites you to shake your groove thing with his 2013 effort that is a mix of hip-hop beats, downtempo glitch, and dub. It's head nodding fun that manages to be smooth as an afternoon at the beach with an infinite amount of twists and turns. Gangster...yet stoner. The beats take center stage, but the melodies are nothing to sleep on either on tracks like Moonlight Tango. He closes with an epic ambient journey in The Great Alignment; full of tribal sounds, long pads, mysterious vocals and real world instruments. The production is so superbly clear it feels like your own private concert. After listening to trance music so intently it's good to shift gears and get a little funky. Free at Ektoplazm Mdk

  24. Epicuros - Metropolis 2.1 (The Thrive) (Ambient, Psychill, Synthesizer, Psychedelic Trance) Going up? The inspiration to do this mix was pretty much iniated when I was thinking about the progress after the technological revolution that humanity has witnessed over the last few millenia. The outstanding effort to evolve as species through knowledge is what gives a promising framework of potential for mankinds future. But not without setbacks and heavy burdens when it comes to these dramatic changes in the climate change that we've set in motion and already becoming the biggest challenge we must overcome. It's a long bumpy road we must take to succeed. This mix was also very much build and motivated with the visionary images of the futuristic skyscraper city landscapes and then continued even further to the space exploration and thus the overall idea of humanity's hope to thrive trough science and technology. Starting from a bit melancholic atmosphere in a rainy midnight neon city lights and building it to a new dawn filled with uplifting excitement and emerging new hope with awareness that not even the sky's the limit for human race. :] Mixcloud SoundCloud Mixcrate 01. Phobium - Bulb "Today we talked about turning your daydreams into reality. Tonight I want each one of you to go home and do just that!" c'mon, c'mon, c'mon.... 71 degrees north? The parallel? Like the Arctic and sh*t? Sounds desolate. I can already hear the f bombs an alien would drop if that's where he crash landed. "Mother...f*cker! Why the f*ck did you drop us here? There's nothing! Zero! F*cking nobody! I swear if you weren't my sister's kid I would've vaporized you!" If aliens were so advanced they'd stop landing in the middle of nowhere and start prepping for splashdown in Bermuda. Let's see what countries inhabit that area...Norway, Canada, USA (Alaska of course why wouldn't is be?) Greenland (ain't no green there) and Russia. What could these countries possibly have in common? That's once you get into the parking garage. I mean really? This is a place where hard on's go to die and shrinkage is a perpetual state. A place that is denied the sun for 3 months straight, cut off from the outside world due to storms like arctic hurricanes. I mean what the f*ck those two words aren't even supposed to go together! But just when you'd think that all is lost and the vampires would rule the eternal darkness, the sun comes back and the people celebrate with hot chocolate. DVSM is back with their latest compilation and what a varied effort it is. You've got everything in here. Darkpsy, forest, ambient...and the artwork is a perfect partner to the music inside. Calyx- Cold and vast the tundra sprawls before me. I force myself to move a little faster as the sun slowly attempts to reach the horizon. Superbly descriptive opener. As I begin to hunker down for the night I notice a penguin remains close. Echodroplets- This track sounds like the artists name. Cool slow downs and synths that are in kind of goa motion. Apparater- Time for slime? Don't mind if I do. Over 13 minutes of delicious forest psychedelia. Not in a dark way either. Outstandingly done with sounds that tumble over each other as if they where water molecules in slow motion. Dreamer- Very BOTFB hallucinogenic goa trance. Scando-goa if you will. And that's all right by me. Pretty intense and dripping like a Salvador Dali painting. Dali-goa I guess. Electroll- This is what happens when you don't make it back to base camp before sundown. Stuck in a thick forest with only the northern lights for illumination. Every sound makes me jump as the sound of tortured souls break the silence. Well layered bubbly stuff of horror movies. I can't find my penguin friend at all. Itami- I just need a window in, something to make the darkpsy more accessible and the lush detail here provides it. Echoing tones and eerie melodies make this my absolute favorite track from Mr. Shah. It's otherworldly and bursting at the seams with effects. Crystal Cascade- Another rapid and pummeling darkpsy track where tones sound like tumbling crystals as the bass rumbles and hammers away at your sanity. This is darkness incarnate. The wind is still blowing and you begin to question your decision to outlast the arctic hurricane. Those two words together are still frightening. Peace From Other Space (Part II)- After the last track has flayed the sinew from your body the aliens with a poor sense of direction arrive and well, I guess it's time for the probing. This is not as mind numbing with a little more melody work. Harsh sounds of machinery screech above the deep bass and yeah that big pointy thing is about to enter your business end. But it's definitely on the lighter side. Tesla- We are in the much softer portion of the album with glacial pads. I survived the hurricane and looking forward to the hot chocolate. Light and airy, but ultimately not that interesting to me. Tatatosk- Dubby beats to let you drift away. Staring at the horizon sipping my hot chocolate I can't help but wonder if my penguin friend made it out ok. Bulb- A wary closing bit of ambient reminding you to not underestimate nature's power and the 71st parallel. I'm not a darkpsy guy, but I appreciate the talent and skill it takes to put the mass of sounds and detail together into a cohesive structure. And this was some of the most enjoyable dark stuff I've listened to. The Phobium tracks are also some of his best work for me; as lush and moving as I've heard from him. The flow of the album really stands out and it's very fluid. Even though I may not have liked every track, without being partially mixed this was smooth. As I mentioned you get a little bit of everything and it's the closest you can come to being in this fascinating ecosystem without strapping on the cold weather gear and snowshoes. Well done guys, it's not perfect, but I believe this to be your best release yet. Hey what's that? *sees penguin with one wing tucked into Kate Upton's bikini bottom* You sonofa... DVSM Bandcamp Mdk
