The guy with the bad teeth speaks sense here.

wow Seraph, thankyou very much - very flattering... I'll tell the lads! It would be a fair amount of work to remaster the album (although I did design some new artwork for it a few years ago as people still as us for copies now and again) but if enough people were to express an interest I'd definitely consider it. What's more exciting to me though is the prospect of re-engineering some of the tracks on that album (and others from the Time of Good Trance) and bringing them bang up-to-date production-wise but without fiddling with the writing/arrangement at all. We've already remixed Kundalini a couple of times and Silence, Spangled, Otherworld and perhaps a couple of others are also on the list. It's a question of time and priorities - I've got a couple of projects on the go as it is right now.

I read through most of the Dream Creation magazines a while back, which I borrowed from a friend... Pretty cool magazine, and I can't believe how much work they put into them! That guy (don't remeber his name) who was running it, did an amazing job back then... For me it shows that Goa trance was pretty commercial at that time... Also because the internet wasn't as informative as now, it was probably more need for magazines like that... Fun reading!
Stuart.
He has plans for something similar soon, I believe.

This might be a good point to mention that if you own a PSP and Wipeout Pure, you can download edits of two of the Voice of Cod album tracks from the Sony website and play them in the game.

There would be fewere new labels that release what everyone else is releasing if the LABELS had some fvcking QUALITY CONTROL and didn't license whatever CRAP tune some newbie producers send them just to provide FILLER for the 2 tracks on the CD by BIG NAME ARTISTS, which are all they can afford because the big name artists (especially if they're Israeli) will charge a massive advance, leaving absolutely NO budget to pay advances (or even fvcking ROYALTIES ) to the other producers on the CD, which means that usually a beginner label CANNOT release a VA that contains 100% quality tunes.
IMO.

Current opinion (from people whose opinions I trust) is that with complex material, Ableton Live is about as good as it gets. Try the new Complex warp mode in v5.

It works It's an interesting thing but not wholly useful for making anything other than basic waveforms. Not something to spend a long time in front of IMO - braindrilling stuff.

Dunno if mine fit in this topic as there's no full tracks to download on our websites (find them all on p2p though!) but here they are:

There's a little box under the window where you choose the 'Open with...' program that says "always use this program to open this type of file". Try ticking it and see what happens. Also, you can use the "File Types" tab in the Folder Options section of the Tools menu in Windows Explorer to get more detailed control over file associations but this is much more complicated.

Not really, but then I'm not the world's best DJ. When a difficult mix comes together though it does give me a feeling of accomplishment similar to that which I get when I pull off a particularly neat piece of sonic trickery in a tune.

The words art and artist are too frequently thrown around these days. In it's purest meaning an artist is someone who creates music, paintings, literature and sculpture.
I wouldn't call someone who works in a museum, who's job it is to decide what painting to hang next to what painting, an artist. Likewise I wouldn't call a DJ, who decides what track to play next to what track, an artist.
Ah, but the phrase "There's an art to making an exhibition out of a collection of paintings" makes sense, no?

Well I don't know mate, I'm not privy to his innermost thoughts. Like I said, try asking him directly. I'd guess that he still has lots of ideas, as he's working on different collaborations, but I'd also guess that he doesn't feel pressure from people like you or me to jump through hoops just because everyone else is writing rubbish music.

He's already done this I think ("I have no problem with that"), but Philter is right about exporting. If you can hear Reason when playing the track in Cubase, you'll be able to export it as he says.

I want to know why it was only meant to be a trilogy. "It was conceived this way" is not an sufficient answer to that question. I find it odd to end Shpongle after only three albums, and I believe there's more to this story. If they indeed intended for this journey to only encompass three albums I believe we would have heard about that prior to this last release and as far as I can recall I've never heard any of them or anyone else claim that Shpongle is a three album project only.
My feeling is that Simon is one of those rare producers in the scene who only writes when he has something specific to say. Do you really want him to keep saying the same thing over and again? If you don't believe what he says, maybe you'd better take it up with him personally: mail@twisted.co.uk
We could all learn from him; he knows when enough is enough.
