  1. Bethoveen is the name of one of their track i think.

i like Necton , got their second album 'Children of the noizy village'(Plusquam), i like nearly all the tracks on it except the one with Porno in the title (maybe Porno Poltergeist need to check).

I also possess Goldflake on a Planet Goa compilation & like it too very much.

I believe that Necton is the kind of band that don't got a big numerous support due to their hybrid style that is able not to fit with proggy lowers coz of their too heavy kick & fat bassline & also with fulloners or oldschoool lovers due to the discret or minimal harmony-melody. That's a pity.

Manuser , you should try listening to Martin Stäff solo project Slugger too, i remember of the nice Bomberclaad on Iressistible Meltdown 1. It's the same way as the dubby tunes of Necton in C.o.t.n.v but without the fat kick.

I feel stupid about Beethoven, ok it's a track now i get it...will try Slugger i hope i will not miss this fat kick :) Merci pour le conseil! ;)

  2. BENZA - BENZA (Demon tea recordings, 2003)

    02 - Flinch

    03 - Duality

    04 - Bowling For Weirdos

    05 - 10 Yards

06 - When The Generals Talk (Benza Remix)

    07 - Upon Further Inspection

    08 - Square Pyramid

    09 - The Wolf

    10 - Idiot Savant

    11 - Wedontneeduaroundherenemore

As i saw the review of the last album of Benza (which i didn't heard yet...) i thought i have to review his 1st album. Well, do you know Loopus in fabula? Probably! Well, Benza is the same type of touch, not surprising it's released on the same label as the 1st Loopus in fabula's album.

Benza has a really surprising sound, very very danceable, very funky, and the thing which really stroke me at first listen was the basslines which put a smile on my face, in tracks like 04 - Bowling For Weirdos which probably is my favourite here. It's in the same "league" as Loopus in fabula, but it's still different, i mean the tracks are very varied, sometimes it sounds old school, and a bit full on for some sounds, and Benza uses more psychedelic trancey sounds.

I think the production is not great, that's the weakness of this album ...but it does it for me anyway, because Benza dares to do something really unique, and i really dig any groovy and funky psytrance.

    Recommended! :)

  3. I ask this cause i am listening to Necton - From here to yer ear (VA - Progression (Plusquam)), and that's one of the best tracks i heard from Necton, dark and tribal, and always that loud kickline which makes me smile...what's ur opinion about Necton? and about this track i am talking about if you heard it...Swamppeople track does it for me too!

  4. some good progressive psy albums...

    Phony orphants - symphony

    Sensifeel - vision of life

also anything by Magnetrixx, i dig their style.

If you wanna compare "classic" goa with something more progressive, listen to an old SUN project album, and then listen to SUN project "sexperimental" album" you 'll see the difference.

  5. Did anyone notice it sounds a bit like old infected mushroom, the basslines, some snares, those creepy sounds, and some sounds remind me Logic bomb also. But Trold have their own style, and as Nefarious said it can reminds Promon too because of those weird vocals, but in less dark, more melodic, and less tribal...anyway it's very pleasant to hear this music because they dare to do something from their own, not copying the "trendy" psytrance. And i am sure some people who are nostalgic of the old school sound will enjoy that album, this is not poor in melodies at all.

  6. hmmmm really progressive, this is the kind of music which focuses on the basslines and the "sunny" background, i liked this album better track after track, particularly 04 Dirty Beach, 05 Dance for Peace, 07 Open Air, this is not "exactly" the same but if you like music by Son kite, some Vibrasphere, some Phony Orphants, Plusquam releases...try it. The tracks are quite entrancing and very housy too, and the kickline is quite loud, quite powerful, but not as powerful as Necton tracks :)

A nice album! Sunny and entrancing, pure progressive housey trance.

  7. I never was a fan of Juno reactor's music, but this album is IMPRESSIVE! Probably the most musical psytrance album i have heard! This is by far the best Juno reactor album, and the more mature also...

Fav tracks : Conquistador II, Zwara, i love these two tracks!!!! Navras is impressive too, it sounds like orchestral music at the end!

  8. That track is amazing i agree, anyway Labyrinth is by far the more mature album from Juno, and a very musical album also, a real piece of music. Best album of Juno reactor by far IMO.

Edit : I thought you were talking about Zwara :) personally i prefer Zwara, and Conquistador II on this album ;)

  9. I am listening to it, it definitely sounds morning and easy listening to, 1st track is funny, but there is definitely a problem with the kicklines which are too loud as a lot of people said above...i don't mind listening to this kind of cheesy melodic trance, it's different and pleasant to my ears :) it's like there is a lot of love, of happiness in the tracks; it's much much more pleasant than full on psytrance. I kinda like it.

PS : yes the production could be much better.

  10. not all cheese is bad though... there are ugly and smelly french cheeses, and some good and effective muzzarella or cottage cheases :D

like new age music :) this music with piano, melodic layers, i like some of it :)

  11. Oh yes, this one;

"People at large are fascinated by so called Flying Saucers... however, they do not fly, the oscillate inbetween dimensions."

    Guess the track!

The infinity project - hyperspaced (Doof remix) ;)

  12. Chi - A.D. - Biocandy

'Can you take this ecological systems that has evolved on a planetary scale and stick them in such an incredibly small container with disproportion in amounts of atmosphere and soil and water and ocean and have the same principles basically functioning.'

'We can take these animals and systems and fit them into an incredibly small container and it still works.'

    From National Geographic channel.

i thought of this one too ;)

  13. I Voted Battle of the future Buddhas, weird I was just litening to Battle of the future Buddhas - Leave the world behind, it's ENORMOUS!!

Edit : Cosmosis was my 2nd choice, i think of Howling at the moon, and HIgher access, but they don't have enough tracks like this...

  14. don't know this one definitly check it out thanx  :)

    225807[/snapback]

:) you are welcome, yep check it out, Promon is/are Swedish artist(s) who won (?) the psynews contest in 2001 if i am not wrong (or 2002), the sound is weird, dark and tribal with sometimes weird singings. Give it a try :)
