I apologize if the topic was confusing, primarily I was requesting suggestions of those styles but it's also awesome to hear what other styles, like the full-on ones padmapani shared, you think are gone or are on it's last push
3 hours ago, Celaripo said:i think you did not get his request lol - he is asking for recommendations
i guess you can forget about music such as endora
as for minimal progressive have you listened to psysex mind penetration? https://www.psynews.org/forums/topic/69863-psysex-mind-penetration/ its not too recent but very goodalso nervasystem brainradio is a strange one that has some minimal in it https://phantasmrecords.bandcamp.com/album/brainradio
gonna to give a proper listen to those psysex and nervasystem albums for sure, tears rolled for no more breaks though, I only find progressive breaks nowadays which are good actually but goa breaks are on another level

More like industrial break-beat with some metal elements, when I heard the doom one I remembered this soundtrack, It's done by Paul Leonard Morgan and he simply rocks IMO

I am still very happy with my AKG K240 MK2 at home + Creative Labs Aurvana In-Ear 3+ at work
Proud owner of the Aurvana's here good warm balanced sound for in-ear buds, for on-ear I got the skullcandy grind wireless for 35 bucks and they are very good for wireless heaphones, I enjoy metal and goa a lot with these. For big ass cans I got the AKG K550 second hand, I find they are a bit stale for dance music unfortunately

Styles almost always circle back and are approached with new gear and sometimes married with other ones, so I was wondering if there's a shortage atm for these or i'm just not looking good enough. Ideas do grow stale so i'm prepared if these are not coming back Thanks in advance my fellow Goa-heads
Twilight ala Twisted system or Phatmatix? Theres a wave of new night time coming form South America particularly Mexico but it's not like the good ol' twilight
Progressive/minimal ala Beatbizarre Lewd or X-dream?
Goa or psy breakbeat like Endora?

I'd say 7, not bad not great and definetely not remarkable
interesting stuff from the full-on camp (psylocibian, hypnocoustics, braincell, manmademan)
unique stuff from LOUD
mad stuff from the goa camp (hypnoxock, proxeeus, KOB, morphic resonance) i'm still waiting for the black noise debut album and that awesome analogy sound like martian arts
don't know enough about the ambient/downtempo/experimental though
-
Bumpy bump also
the albums must be diverse in the trance/sound spectrum that's for sure
X-Dream - Radio
Pleiadians - IFO
Hux Flux - Cryptic Crunch (not goa strictly speaking but what the hell )
Blue Planet Corporation - Blue Planet (for dancing my naked ass off under the careful watch of the moonlight)
Koxbox - Dragon Tales

man it would be insane if this great work would somehow feature in the new Ishkur guide, just sayin'
-
Awe-inspiring read somewhere around here that this is the golden era of downtempo psy, thanks Paul

I love both producers and the dark/forest heavy in psychedelia sound , could any of my fellow trance heads suggest similar artists or frequencies?

Totally agree! I also like the sensual element in it, which is totally lacking in psy/goa1
Glad you liked this stuff groovy and also entrancing
Argentina is a paragon of this sound
Another recent track by Fabri Lopez
More summer vibey melodic stuff by Andrea Cassino

Not cool at all, it´s sad no matter the scene when human greediness, ego-centrism, general disinterest or just plain apathy and incompetence get in the way of something as fundamental as music.
I too wish you the best Anu, hope time brings you back if you like
-
I´ll chime in my fellow tranceheads, didn´t know Vincent De Moor nor that Ferry Tayle remix so thanks for sharing
Timewave has been mentioned in the progressive atmospheric trance topic
Daniel Scott
The great Solarstone adding his magic to an also great track by Driftmoon

A. Musical background (and using it)
B.Goa is a blend, not a copy
80/90's styles were: acid, techno, house, trance, new beat,... If you make goa trance (melodic or not) this are the basic ingredients you start from. You blend them (or strong aspects/elements of them) together to make goa trance. It is like making a pie: first you collect the different (and separate) ingredients by tasting them, experiencing them. Than you take the next step, you follow a certain receipt and that you cook it up to a blend depending your own flavour.
Much (not all) 'neo' goa is like making a pie and skipping the receipt. Basing the product on a picture without reading what the receipt is and what separate ingredients you really need for it. As result you get a vague copy of a existing style, but differs too much to be called goa trance. Yes, I said it, I dare to say it and I don't care how much it will stir the rabbit hole.Apart from the former remark ; you only get real goa if you use the real original ingredients
Couldn´t have said it any better

“Of Knowledge And Wonder” is the debut album released on Random Records from the Finnish producer Funicon, bringing us a blend of sorted delights ranging from funky swingers to evening slingers. A joyful trip through the state of trance.
Funicon have been producing music since 1999 mainly focusing on an electronic fusion of Psychedelic-Trance with experimental sounds. He incorporates elements of real live instruments that are at times infused within the sound, which push the limits and evolve through a wide variety of styles. Was not sure to post this, it doesn´t sound groundbreaking, sharp or organic and lacks psychedelia, his uptempo has a lot of complextro elements, full-on elements, goaish sounds and progressive ibogaish(lol) sound marriage which may or may not appeal BUT again perhaps in coming productions, once his sound evolves or matures more, his style will shake things up a bit.

The new hypnoxock has a lot of things that goa from the 90s had. It's really surprising.
Yee I agree, some had that classical Indian music arrangement, some had a more wicked EBMesque with acid vibe and overall it was a very good production
-
I couldn't care less for e.g. triplets or cowbells
Imao, I disliked fervently the triplets and breaks in that acid monkeys track by Gorovich, but I like the usage of analog and modular gear for his somewhat more organic sound, plus his musical background and Eitan Rieter being his mentor give me hope for something more enticing in his future works
-
I´m keeping a close ear to this brother, he´s one half of Empirikal formed in 2013, but recently started his solo works
Also like quite much that bsf track
Hector Stuardo imo is also trying to bring kinda oldschool back with his Goa sound

Very good music posted thank you all Death hawks and burzum are my favs
I would add this
-
This producer likes to put a little bit of psychedelia in his works, when not listening to goa or psytrance in general I hover over this kinda sound
-
Recently gave a listen to Hypnoxock's album thanks to antic, not much of a follower of neo stuff but me like it, those symbiosis and transformation tracks were quite trippy and packing crazy in a good way soundscape

For good melodic cheese you can´t go wrong with this fella
This one might be boring, more tech-housey but it definetely gets one moving
-
Hope this helps:
Track by Enei and Nphonix, it´s mostly Nphonix neuro sound though

Some tight aggressive tech-step stuff by Prolix which has Noisia influence
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l_q3gBD2O7U
slower, cheesier almost brostep more break-beat stuff, might be interesting here and there

Thanks for this godsend topic and fellow psyheads, I stumbled upon psynews repetitively trying to make heads from tails(ass?)on this mad world of psychedelic trance.

Do you have a recommendation on a really calm ambient album to sleep to
in Other Electronica
Posted
LOL man I remember once falling asleep to my ambient and downtempo playlist which has some dark ambient albums and I had some elm street shit shuteye kid you not, anyways space ambient with soft pulsating interludes always gets me in a hazy limbo mood so it might work for ya
