Surprised to see no mention of Boris Brejcha here. He is comfortably my favorite techno of recent years.
His dancefloor stuff is fanstastic, powerful yet thoughtful. His more minimalistic side is melodic, almost melancholic, and still very interesting (rare for me with minimal-esque techno).
^^^ this one has a lovely build
^^ a bit heavier

^^^ a nice journey, more mellow
^^^ unique, twisted, really goes places. Nothing quite like it.
Boris Brejcha ftw

Hi there Alek! I use LMMS for everything I "produce". https://soundcloud.com/ruby_plexus
I do not have experience with setting up a MIDI keyboard, but if you have any other questions about LMMS I might be able to answer them for you. I've been using it for probably 7+ years now and have seen enormous improvements over the years. While I completely understand that for most artists LMMS is probably no where near powerful enough, I find it extremely easy to use with a good variety of samples and plugins. And of course it's free.
Also, if you are interested I would gladly share some of my project files.
It's good for starters but professionally LMMS is a copy of FL STUDIO but couldn't care less of dat shit

Let's hope it's not a CD-R. Good news, I've had mixed feelings about your music. But I always come back to them. Looking forward to this one. Good luck.
screw the old stuff mate i'm talking about what's coming lol
CD-R? I did some back in the days ... can't tell really , that will depend if there's a proper label out there ready to take on me and they have to be really big and powerful else they can't keep up with my shit, if such label doesn't exist then I'll go Solo and I'll make it available to the public in an Indie way. One way or another there will be new album.
PS - It's not going to be 'goa'.

Lately I have realized something that I would just like to get a second opinion on. Been working on a minimal loop that just kicks ass, the quality is rich, flow is spot-on, everything just vibes correctly.
In the sweet spot it sounds great - or when I put my ear real close to the speaker, but the moment I move back - or stand up and walk around, the frequencies kind of change. At first I thought it's the room harmonics, but previewing a reference track and do the same walk about, all the frequencies stays the same. As if while walking around the sound stays in the same place in the air.
Is this something to do with phase alignment ?
Feedback appreciated
yes it is mate , phase changes whenever you move from one place to another and so on , as the same with the sounds in the track/song.
What you need is a Phase Scope.

hi
i'm currently getting more and more into techno and would like some recommendations. i'm not looking for acid techno, freetekno, techtrance, minimal techno and the like, just plain, real techno. probably i'm still unknowlegable about some of the great classics from the 90s. but mainly i'm also looking for more mechanical, harder sound, maybe with a sort of warehouse vibe to it.
here are some examples of what i think is good techno (probably influenced a bit from my obvious psy background ) :
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lw8EhxVv098
or kopfuss resonator - monokiller, but i can't find that one on youtube.
i'm sure that some of you have great tracks to share and pointers into directions that can help me with my search
In Techno as long as it has strong bass anything goes. Jeff Mills is spot on mate .
