  2. 1.Nationality and Age? American. 27.

2.How old were you when you attended your first rave? Where? 19 or 20. Los Angeles. Infected Mushroom.

3.Describe what you feel when you are at a rave? It depends. Sometimes I feel energetic and vibrant and joyous. Other times I feel depressed and bored.

4.What is your opinion about spirituality at raves? Are they spiritual? Why/why not? Nice idea but I think spirituality is secondary to partying as far as raves go.

5.Is electronic music enough to make one feel connected to the energy or are drugs a necessity? Why/why not? "The energy"? Of course drugs aren't needed for anything. Even when taken, sometimes they don't bring one closer to anything but further away from it.

6.What do you think of a DRUG FREE rave? That promoters are trying to look good so they won't get busted.

7.Would you ever attend a DRUG-FREE rave and be sober simply for the love of the music and the vibe? Why/why not? I don't believe in sober raves. I've been to raves sober and it's been fine, but I would never expect everyone to go sober even if it's promoted as a sober party (been to those, people were high).

  3. I think this album is great. Listen to Project 100. I even like Duveywuvey's singing on the album. The energy level is also great. The production is, of course, impeccable. The cheese level is lower than times in the past. What's wrong with that? Crazy folks...I suggest to let go of the past and approach the present and future as they are instead of comparing them to a past that doesn't even exist. If you can't do this, you'll never have the chance to even appreciate this music and find out whether or not you actually like it or not. Good luck!

  4. Just finished Snow Crash by Neal Stephenson. Extremely entertaining book, highly recommended. Also, a Woman on the Edge of Time is a great novel too but maybe less well-known. I can't recall if it's by Marge Piercy or not. Feminist scifi with social commentary I'm sure many here would be interested in.

  5. Sounds good. I think it's not heavy enough for me as far as electro goes. I do like the "psychedelicness" which is something electro often lacks. In any case, I hope you don't listen to closed-minded psyravers and continue to make music you want to make.

  6. First of all, I love Ishq's "Orchid". I haven't listened to all of his other material because it seemed to fall flat.

Anyway, I came here only to make one point: people have DIFFERENT FUCKING TASTE. There is nothing to discuss. I love Orchid but some others may not whether or not I tell them to relax or take drugs or whatever. Of course, there is a certain phenomenon that exists where one learns to love music they didn't get at first. And, because I think Orchid, especially, is great, I would suggest listening to it over and over until you "get it". But, if you don't, once the curiousity is gone, move on. Who cares? Listen to stuff you like and let others do the same. There is nothing transcendentally good about Ishq or Shpongle or Tool or Sublime or whomever else people like a lot...

    Blah blah...ciao!

  7. Being closed-minded must be awesome...

Infected has been corny since the beginning and gotten cornier. The simple fact is they are of the very few who are trying to take their music beyond the confines from which they came...confines which a lot of people are stuck in and which give us uncreative, rehashed music (which may be good in its own way of course).

  9. I think its very good. I don't understand comparing it to anything else; a work is a work on its own terms. If you like it, then good; if not, then good. If you don't like it because it doesn't sound like LSD or because it doesn't meet some expectations then you have some musical maturing to do.

    Peace.

  10. It's the best when people who are involved in a scene with connotations of open-mindedness, acceptance and love trash artists based on their personal taste. They probably close the browser, smoke a bowl and complain about there not being enough respect in the world. Don't forget to look inward.

Haven't listened to whole album, just some songs on Myspace. Didn't like 2am so much but like Less is More quite a bit. I mean, these guys suck and don't belong on this planet making music! I suck too and don't belong on this planet spouting my lame opinons! Ha.

  11. Its not a poor taste.

    It's in very poor taste...

The general attitude of psynews is in poor taste for quite some time now...perhaps I will write about it some day but one of the more recurrent themes I see lately is that if you don't like something then it is okay to speak negatively about it and insult it to any degree you like. It gets worse too...people here are no better than children on a playground and not playful happy children but the type of children whose parents treat them badly and they take it out on other kids at school. It's fucking lame. Lamer than this album cover by a long shot.
