I got the bandcamp code for the digital version mailed today (and a bonus code for a Boshke comp), very nice.
The CDs are on heavy rotation since I got them.
-
Just got it from bandcamp, and it came with no freebies. I just hope the album will be made available for streaming and download, though.
Edit: looking again, there was a pin badge inside!

Just repaired a little web tool I did for automating compilation track-by-track search in discogs.
Since it was tailor-made for finding tracks in goa compilations, it may be of interest here:
Hi all,
I've put together a little web utility to search discogs for track duplicates:
http://discogs-pcb.herokuapp.com
Basically:
1. It downloads an index of your collection to your browser's local cache.
2. Given a release-id, it performs a search for each track, and matches the results against the cached collection index.
It's nice for shopping (check before buying a V/A) or finding redundant comps in our own collection.
If you give it a try, feel free to comment. Thanks!

Summer 1998 (23 years old). First goa purchases were Black Rhino and Forever Psychedelic. Good times.

Here's a mix I made with groovy midtempo goa tracks:

Great remixes by Tarsis/SBK:

Ollie Wisdom singing on this one fits his Batcave punk-goth background, sounds fantastic IMO:

Cool robotic vocals were one of the best things of "We Interface"
-
Past editions were fun, looking forward to this (impostor syndrome already kicking in, btw ).
-
It has some of the aggressiveness of 90s dance industrial
-
This is a fave of mine (with the rest of the old Gaia Tontraeger stuff). I even like the cover. Simplistic, but it has a certain ellegance to it and it's trippy to stare at.

Psychoactivity
"No Process" is a favorite Irritant tune, collaboration with Atmos.
I like the electro stuff on We Interface. Forum hate made me avoid that album for some time, but now I love it, and the robotic vocals, too. Very diverse album, the kick in Distressor is almost doomcore.

The old albums are full of goodies, just two from top of head:
- The Source Energy (deep final track from Ultraviolet Catastrophe)
- You Create Your Own Reality (vocals and all, great goa feel)
-
This preview stream of the new album (out next Monday) sounds great.
-
Computer Breath is great, too.
-
A bunch of cool songs:
Killing Joke - The Raven King
Mentallo & The Fixer - Stellar Cascade
Skinny Puppy - Worlock
Covenant - Call the Ships to Port
Cubanate - Oxyacetilene
-
Raw, listener-unfriendly early trance. Perhaps an acquired taste, but great music to space out to.
Johann Bley did a cool remix of the first track.
-
Seems Pete Namlook passed away, RIP.

One thing about early Boris Blenn material is how deep the grooves are, with such sparse arrangements. Evolving acid line + basic percussion + uplifting pads = trance magic.

My first contact with goa trance was probably in 1998. I was intrigued by certain spiralling sounds I heard in a coffeeshop in Amsterdam, during an interrail trip around Europe.
Back home, being more or less familiar with electronic music, I had a look in the goa trance section of a record store (that wouldn't exist for much longer), and got two V/A comps: Black Rhino and Forever Psychedelic. From there I got hooked. Bought some more releases at the same place (Equator, Voodoo Witch, Distance To Goa box-sets). Searching the web I found sites like TRiP, goatrance.free.fr and mp3.com, and have kept collecting the stuff until now.

I'll have a go. Nice lead sounds, melody work & cool eastern vibes. Very good. 8/10

Where can I order this?
