Recently, when it comes to psytrance, I'm more into full-on/Israeli stuff. Heck, I did a DJ set first time since 2011 this December in local club. And it was fun. 😋
Tbf and in retrospect, the way Fullon is/ was slandered on this forum was so unnecesary and quite childish. It's just music... in general this forum has always been wayyyy too echo-chamber-ish for my taste, although it obviously had its good parts else I wouldn't have stuck around (for example the review section helped me discover some great music).
Sorry for the salty post and hope everyone is having a great day <3- 2

Yeah I'm guessing we don't need to hold up our hopes too high, it's been radiosilence here for weeks.
Whatever, plenty of other places to look for CD's! -
Very very decent Nitzho-goa, been having my eye on this guy for a while. Full lenght album in the make for Sita Rec...

I'm waiting for you to post the Goa list... really depends on the condition and which items you're selling.

...but: WHY, of all, Kristian Thinning? That reference in there, It just caught my eye
Because they quoted him in the same post. Also confused me at first, but it's just because of that quote, nothing else.

You guys should go for the tried and tested method of doing a Google image search with the words hippie + girl + festival and see what pops up. Ain't that like the most obviously effective clickbait practice for this experiment (edit: while still remaining somewhat related to the music)?

Yes, Techno scene is super exiting these days compared to the Trance scene. Love the fact these dudes don't draw lots of boundaries, they mix all kinds of nineties styles into this big melting pot and the result is so refreshing.

The front cover also says "Benefit Tibet", and on the back of the front cover the story says:
"In 1950 China invaded Tibet. The Tibetans have calculated that 1,2 million have died as a result of the Chinese take-over. In 1959 the Dalai Lama was forced to flee his home and now travels the world gathering support for his people. The Tibetans believe in a non-violent struggle for freedom. The deserve all the help they can get. 50% of the profit of this CD will go to the Tibetan people, who lost everything, even basic things like homes, clothes, food and medication. You will help to prevent one of the oldest cultures of the world from disappearing."- 1

Love how it took 18 years to get a reply on this thread and someone actually went ahead and discovered the title

I find this way more inventive than the last album which I found a bit of a miss.
Agree, I like all the funny little sounds and ideas combined with the nice distinctive melodies. Just bought it.

Hi everyone! I am George Pantelidis, the one half of "Psychonauts". I'm glad you liked the track and our work in general. Actually i wrote the melody in one take, without quantize and things like that. That's why it has a human feeling maybe. Another thing is that the track is totally unmastered, because my partner hurried to send it to the label for a release and i did't have the chance fix the mix and do the master. So the track has some grittiness and punch....Kind of a primitive feeling....After all i am glad that people embraced the track and it was an instant banger!
Thanx everyone who still listen to our music .
Respect for your work!

No clue honestly, unfortunately Airesis kinda disbanded with one half (Tritonas) doing commercial progtrance now and the othe half (Loop) doing...some kind of heavy metal dubstep fantasy trance thingy.
Those were great tracks though, no doubt. I think the kick wasn't strictly nitzho or even psytrance related, could've been borrowed from some mid-2000's clubtrance pack!
-
Of course I still have the Nitzho folder as I still use it on a daily base xD but I would be surprised if I'm the only one left out there! However no problem to reshare it, just give me until tonight when I return from work to make an upload

Don't know of any new releases in this style, but I do enjoy the occasional Shiva Chandra or M.O.S. releases from the 2000-2003 minimal era. They had something...brooding, soothing, dark yet they weren't over-the-top kinda "look at me I can play 50 sounds at the same time". Very refreshing to listen to from time to time, although I'd imagine how boring and monotome the scene must've felt back when this music dominated the scene...

Wow, that's a bit strong. Did I miss something?
I guess he's referring to the fact that psyhoe is selling some (rare) items for quite excessive prices through discogs.

I'm not judging anybody here, just informing. It's a free world. -

Rehashing an old thread instead of making a new one. With so many new releases since our last best of new goa/essential I wonder who has updated their list, or if the best has come and gone.
I also feel like 10 albums is no longer able to properly explore all the essentials of the SWOG,
1. Khetzal - Corolle
2. Artha - Influencing Dreams
3. VA - Terraformer
4. Lunar Dawn - Kolovrat
5. Sab Kuch Milegator - Kauas Aikain Taa
6. Median Project - Constellation
7. Antares - Exodus
8. Morphic Resonance - The City Of Moons
9. Hypnoxock - Eurythmia
10. Celestial Intelligence - Perpetual Energy11. Hypnoxock - Eurythmia
12. Celestial Intelligence - Perpetual Energy
13. VA - The World Beyond
14. Sykespico - Perspective
15. Nervasystem - Timetravel
16. Psylent Buddhi - Secrets Of The Atom
17. VA - Temple Of Chaos
18. VA - People Walk Funny
19. Kadasarva - Steamagination
20. Ephedra - Journey Through My HeadFor me 'Essentials' refers to any album that properly displays a particular style at the top of the game.
You got Hypnoxock mentioned twice in there (which is, as far as I'm concerned, one of the best artists around, so that's definetely Ok by me! )

even if it was not only less popular than psytrance but also less popular than goa trance (which i highly doubt), i'd still call it commercial if someone makes way more easy-listening music than before ;). music doesn't have to actually make you money to sound commercial.
Commercial music, essentially I'd say, is music that was consciously written and produced with the purpose of appealing to the biggest possible crowd, given the current 'hypes'. That's definetely not what Afgin was trying to do with his Trance output, he simply and wholeheartedly loves this type of music. Complexity, easy-listening, etc. has nothing to do with the question how commercial music is, afaik. Honestly the term is so biased and that's why I'd rather not see it written in the context of this artist. We can discuss about it of course, this is just my honest opinion.

he has gone commercial i.e. he does regular trance now. on his discogs (https://www.discogs.com/artist/659162-Afgin) you'll see a few newer releases but they got no attention here because they're not psy anymore.
as much as i loved old is gold when it came out i don't miss him terribly. his tracks sounded great when new but imho don't have too much replay value (similar to gms, alien project or goasia in that respect).
Calling his newer work commercial is completely wrong. Melodic trance in the style of Afgin had a peak around the start of the 00ies but nowadays is way less popular than Psytrance. You're applying definitions of the term 'commercial' as used in 2002, not 2020.
Secondly, to answer the OP, he doesn't produce as much anymore, but still plays sets quite often. Last year alone I saw him playing live in Beligum, Spain and Israel.
