  1. I don't believe in the traditional notion of karma, but I do believe we pay a price for every action.

If we are unkind, I think our own consciousness progogates unhappiness in ourselves; and when we are kind, our consciousness rewards us by making us feel good. I don't believe it's possible to be content without being good. That's the karma I believe.

  2. Yea Rotwang is just about to discover the meaning of life the Universe and Everything, and post it on Psynews first

He won't if you keep that attitude up. It's all about confidence with these intellectual academics, once that's shot they seldom achieve anything, so a little more encouragement please. ;)
  3. I am severely out of date and most of that I learned of my own accord in a very patchy way; last physics I studied was purely electromagnetic spectra related (mainly signals) quite a few years ago; surely Rotwang can find a good couple of links to lay out the basics of all this?

Rotwang is too busy working on the mythical Theory of Everything. I was hoping Hawking would discover it but I fear he's now a spent force. It's time to unload all our hopes and heavy expectations onto Rotwang's broad shoulders.
  4. I wish I understood what you two were saying. I'm fascinated by physics but understand very little of it. Even those cool physics programmes the BBC make for the thicko layman sometimes confuse me. :(

  5. Wrong section, I know, but I don't know where else to post this. Can one of the lovely mods (who I'd love to have sex with  ) please reset my warn status. I ain't posted in over 2 years and yet it's still at 66%. That can't be right. Especially as I've spent the last few years developing a cure for aids, digging wells in Africa, kissing lepers, convincing the blind that sight is overrated, walking on water, and pretty much doing everything that Jesus did and more.

  6. I'm watching the development of Skyrim very, very closely, this game will eat up six months of my life! E3 is on at the moment, releasing lots of tasty previews of new games.

Skyrim looks good but you just know it's gonna have a dodgy framerate.
  7. I thought it absolutely brilliant on release and enjoyed it for many years. When I listen to it today though, I find it wears thin pretty quick so I don't think time has treated it favourably. But I don't know, I suppose it remains a good album, just not the sort of stuff I enjoy at this point in time.

This is one of the best songs ever, whoooaaaaaa what Simon has do with voice in this song.........

Yeah, I agree. It's the best tack on the album and possibly one of Simon's finest moments and, considering how fine a musician he is, that's saying something. There's a bit in the track, maybe two thirds of the way through, where, after it's slowed down and gone all mellow and dreamy, it kicks back into life with that incredible semi-creaking, semi-whooshing sound. It's difficult describing the sound as it's kinda flowing yet, paradoxically, it's also kinda staggered in it's effect (I think of it as the sound of time slowing down) but, whatever it is and however you describe it, it always gets my hairs standing on end. Just incredible.

    jilted: only great tracks!

Yup. Jilted was their only true masterpiece, without question.
