  1. Does anyone have a copy of this track in high quality?

I have an mp3 of this track I must have grabbed ages ago off soulseek, but its in 192k. I believe mindsphere had it up on youtube and soundcloud for some time but now its gone :( I've searched and searched for days and can't find it anywhere.

My trouble is I'd like to play it in a DJ set but can't do so with the low quality copy I have

Please send me a message here if you have this track

  2. On the one hand we always made good deals with Shuki, so I won't be too hard. On the other hand, Afgin never got anything out of his participation from Pure Planet 3. Reason was Arabesque held the stocks, so Kagdila coudln't even give cds to the artists.

Aerosis didn't either, I would think its rare to find someone imbursed by kagdilla, just because of what their release model is...bulk and for profit, gaining one due to brute volume of releases. But whats interesting to me is having learned how little this actually is. If you owned a label like this you could barely scratch out rent for a year. I mean twisted is the top but they aren't doing well financially either...though this might have something to do with spending 40k on parties whenever possible ;) (bless them)

My impression of shuki is that he is responsive and you can get in contact with him if you want to, but he is distant. He lives in the same city as I but in 4 years I've never seen him in the scene. I think his motivation for releases is another, i figure this from the quantity and style of music being released... it is a business model. At the same time, he loves oldschool and finds good music to release. I won't throw out any names but I know a fellow or two who do spun records. They move what sells and print as much as they can, grabbing sales just from sheer volume. This turns into a meager profit, maybe 15-30k a year. It supports the label and maybe gas money for their artists. Aside from these examples, we have all heard a lot of cheesy trance out there which has not changed since 2003...I would imagine its the same game there.

Confusing stuff, this label world. The next mark zuckerberg out there needs to figure out a perfect model to distribute music better in this digital age. Its not bad but every morning when I wake up I wish I could just sit 10 hours in the studio rather than have to work all day to pay rent. ;) I think at the end of the day, thats what the labels are thinking too.

  3. This forum's been relatively inactive for some time now. The closing of off-topic made a lot of visitors disappear as the range of discussion was narrowed. To be perfectly honest, there's only so many times when you can ask about your fav'e goa cds etc.

As the passive observer, the off topic section of the site was classy and something I enjoyed browsing back in the day. I didn't experience any of the drama parts, but I am with oopie, this place is very serious without off topic, the site becomes mostly new release spam where you can't find a good track, unless discussing your top tracks in general discussion. Oopie has a point

That was my first reaction to the news but I don't think it would be the right thing to do. Psynews would no longer be Psynews if it became the forum I am currently working to develop.

Just have a link on the main page to "psynews.org" It points to this forum loaded up on your servers, so psynews is just this neutral group. I only brought you up since your site came to mind, since its great too Once upon a time psynews.org was a site too. Ektoplazm is like a modern equivalent in a way, at least so far as a psytrance hub with high traffic. Plus its starting to remind me of the mp3.com glory days with the amount of quality free music on there.. It just needs a forum :)

Then again, Basilisk, if you're developing a sweet forum for ektoplazm or it already has one, if this forum for some reason can't continue we could all just organize and have people here jump onto that forum. Thats one way of handling things.

  4. You have a lot to be proud of here, 11 years of this place going shows the momentum going on. I wouldn't see this as a sad moment. You have to do whats best for you and shouldn't feel guilty that you've kept this amazing community going.

What if this site merged with ektoplazm? The easiest solution could be to merge this group with something already running, then people who already are managing a portal can just plug psynews into their hub, its less likely that someone who doesn't know any IT/web will materialize and be able to turn the gears. Mars you could try contacting Basilisk, or make an offer to any affiliates you might work with. Those are my ideas, I don't know if they are good :)

Ofcourse, any psynewser is also more than welcome, if you're out there

  5. I've had a topic on isratrance with my mixes for a while now, I just realized you guys over here don't even know about them.

  6. Hey it couldn't hurt to let you guys know whats up with our end out here in the states :)

I just got back from Gemini and am feeling great about this summer. We're playing goa trance. A lot.

Heres a live mix of Leap of Faith, one of my favorites.

  7. I no longer know what's real and what's not.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KLaXGXwptcc.....

    Completely speechless...

I thought that discovering pavel's last.fm account with all of NHJO's tracks played 200+ times kinda spoke for itself.

But um... So NHJO this means we can really book you?

Can someone book this guy so we can find out if this is pavel or not?

    [edit]

The comments on the studio video.

Come on already this CANNOT be for real

  8. This album turns the page. I can't stress its awesomeness enough.

More words than that are not necissary.

On the critical side of things, album is 1/3 artha sound, 1/3 hallucinogen, 1/3 old infected mushroom.

I can pass on the old infected mushroom (I am over it, grungy guitar vibe = cheese for me), like the bali track. but that is my taste and does not subtract from the quality of this music.

Artha is doing his own thing, and he is doing good. I am putting this CD in the goa pile at home, and happy that my goa pile does not sound all the same thing.

    Attention please...

    THIS! --> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qOhNYKuExIw&fmt=18

    Now buy the album.

  9. Hmm, this past weekend there were 4 parties, and theres atleast 1 party going down each week if you don't mind a lot of them being techno.

There is a big party scene here, just so much of it is word of mouth or between friends. Large commercial things don't go down so much since they are really expensive and there is a lot of risk with land usage, not getting fined etc.

A lot of the community used to be on tribe.net, now things are organized more through message lists on facebook. You can scope out bigger parties on isratrance, but those will mostly be dark or cheese full-on. unless its a nice festival or something.

Moontribe is another story all together, their anniversary parties are multi day and the best I have gone to, the 17 year is comming up this june, you can get on their email list if you visit moontribe.org and look around for a contact email.

You should check out Alchemy festival, its in norcal closer to you, takes place in about a month. http://forum.isratrance.com/alchemy-festival-april-30-may-2-aphid-moon-procs-progress-bird-of-prey-and-so-much-more/

Then in june you should look out for Gemini festival.

  10. This is simple but you gotta grab it right reznik,

its one fat classic saw and sine. If there is no saw you can never get that sharp sound it makes, so you won't get it with just a sine. Its Well compressed, well EQ'd to bring out the low end (60-80 is what the sine adds), and there might be some kind of amp or distort on it to make it distinct.

The cutoff filter (or any cutoff filter layed on that synth) is being tweaked to get that wah wah dub sound. You can do this live with a http://www.psynews.org/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gifcontroller and then go in to polish it up and make the curves perfect.

// Dude that video is wicked, that puppet shows how to jive it bad like a politician.

    Dubstep style.

  11. I think most of this you've got up there is really good acid trance, maybe alot of those are on the goa side of things (like tempo), otherwise pure acid trance. Especially cybernaut :) Awesome style of music.
