I usually get a whole bunch whenever I'm in a thrift store / secondhandshoppe.

Do you have a link or a name for that mix? Was it properly released or just a bootleg you found somewhere? I'm interested.I just remember listening to a live mix that they did that was off the chart....
-
I understand your point, but if any release is ripped and uploaded before the release-date anyway, you might as well help potential buyers by spreading the material yourself. I doubt this makes that much of a difference, really.
But thanks for pointing it out, I hadn't even noticed the whole album was available on his bandcamp site. Nice!
At first listen (halfway through) I must say it sounds like Ott 2.0. Very nice! Still recognizable as Ott, but much tighter and less strictly dubby. A few '-steppy' influences here and there and overall very good stuff. Pleasant surprise.

The Office
in Movies
Original The Office or the US interpretation?
Original/UK version: both seasons are equally great, with a brilliant christmas special ending.
-
Completely flawless mix. Can't say that I'm an expert in goa, although I do recognize some of the tracks, but the transitions are really well executed. Impressive stuff!
-
First half of that track is not that special, but the second part is where it gets more interesting. Curious to what the rest of the album will sound like !

New contender for my favorite album of 2010:
Hidden Orchestra - Night Walks
Atmospheric, jazzy, breaksy, all played with instruments, cinematic and very beautiful. Hard to describe, but I've been hooked on this album ever since I first heard it. Very much recommended!

Soon new albums by Ott, Phutureprimitive and Abakus. Flashback to ... 2003 or 2004?
I might actually get just a tiny bit excited about psydubchillbient again. What about you guys?
-
Better late than never, but the first name that came to mind was Eat Static indeed.
-
I haven't heard anyone mention Gorillaz - Plastic Beach. Maybe it's just me, but I've been edging a little bit towards somewhat more "hit-oriented" or "poppy" electronic music, such as Gorillaz (although... electronic?) and Röyksopp. Both albums are quite nice, I have to say.

Younger Brother - A Flock of Bleeps
Got no time to make one, anyone can take my turn if I'm right.

I vote for both RTP & Insejn together.
I know that's not an option, so I'll vote for either one of them, but I really feel that they'd to the job better if they did it together than if they did it alone. I'll vote for RTP this time, because I liked his application letter, but my vote is intended as a vote for both.

Cheers, Russ
Sounds like oldschool Abakus indeed, but with a 2010 touch. Looking forward to this!

Now I'm really jealous.

I'm really liking Royksopp's most recent output Senior. Warm and cozy and somewhat cheesy at times, but with a genuine touch somehow... lo fi, melancholic chilled out downtempo cuteness. Have to give it a few more thorough listens, but I am liking what I hear so far.
-
I pre-ordered it and got it as soon as it came out, but haven't been completely blown away either... nothing too remarkable at first listens. Not bad either, but not as classic as I was hoping...
-
I honestly couldn't care less if they played psytrance or not. I don't go to Burning Man for the music.A friend of mine went to BUrning Man this year, he said although it was a fantastic expierience there was hardly any psy there apparently music wise they were really just playing dubstep everywhere there.
-
Don't like any of the three, but the first and last are especially cheap... Bad choice dude. -
-
This thread is totally useless to me if people just post images of the CD they bought. Without any description of the music, if I don't know the artist, it's not that likely for me to check it out.
Please post some comments as well, aight?

I like the cover, actually.
-
Brilliant! It is true. Even better - apparently somebody noticed one of the typos and tried to remove it from the record. Via Wirikuta:
Trouble is, they didn't notice the other one.

Had anyone noticed this? I just saw something random on facebook, clicked on and found out that The Orb and David Gilmour are collaborating on an album called 'Metallic Sphere'. What! WHAT?!

Sony Music have now confirmed the release date of the Metallic Spheres album as 12th October in North America (11th October in the UK). The first EPK of the album, directed by filmmaker Gavin Elder, has now been made available. It features Orb members Martin 'Youth' Glover and Alex Paterson, plus footage of David contributing electric guitar and lap steel guitar during the album sessions at Youth's studio. Pink Floyd

Hip Hop Recommendations
in Other Electronica
Posted
Fuck it, I was gonna recommend MF Doom when I saw the topic title, but there you have it... one of my latest discoveries and already one of my favorite rappers.
There was a big Hip Hop thread some time ago, in which most of my recommendations can be found (and I know my shit )
Ch-ch-check it out yo!
And much more to be found here.
