  1. ...thought so.

I realize being too deep in the scene sometimes sheds a new light over some things. There's so much we wish we hadn't seen or heard, and not much we can really do without doing more harm.

Go ask the mods to delete your bloody account, I'm not part of psynews since the first half of 2011. Anoebis even before. Why do psynews-martyr-wannabees we put back in their place keep saying we rule that forum? This is a lie! Get your facts right.

You still have my support for the sake of music. If Celestial Beings II gets released, be sure I'll buy it.

  2. I wouldn't have reacted to the Anoebis/Elysium fight but I see Kristian updated his Indiegogo campaign and I don't like what I'm reading. We've never spread gossip, and have always encouraged any initiative to make the goa scene more dynamic. Thinking of something different is just irrelevant. If anyone was slandered this year it was us.

I think what Anoebis wanted to address was a trust issue, because we have an album that was "very close to completion"...one year ago, and on the other hand we have first hand infos that Kristian has been "cultivating misunderstandings" with party promoters.

That would be a perfect opportunity to look at the facts and prove us wonrg! Kristian, could you please list the parties you've been invited at in the past years and see how your performance went eventually ?
Here are those I found via googling and a couple of questions asked:
    - Dance for Life 2014-12: advance, no-show, no refund
    - ZNA festival 2015: YES, you were there !!!
    - Belgian Connection 2015-09 : no-show.
    - Connection Festival 2015: no-show
    - Japanese party with Yuta: advance, no-show, no refund

Any other party I missed and you want to share?

Other than that, I think it's a great thing to revive the Celestial Beings concept. Let's just hope the album gets completed soon. You can count me in the buyers, once it's released.
  3. what's up with the "VA - PSYCHOFLUID Evolution" thread?

it's not particularly interesting to me, but if i click on it, i just see a page with "psynews driver error" and "there seems to be an error with the database".

It was caused by the tables encoding and gave me shivers and a great deal of work.

So we had several Driver error reports in IPB even though the thread's title was 100% in latin. Not the post it contained, though, but it wasn't obvious.

In the logs I found:  Error: 1366 - Incorrect string value: '\xEF\xBC\x9A-Ev...' for column 'cache_content' at row 1

a bit further in the logs we have a database error when the board tries to cache the post. Within that post one can find a link to the japanese site of Tower Records: <a href=\'http://tower.jp/item/4360597/Psychofluid%EF%BC%9A-Evolution\'class=\'bbc_url\' title=\'External link\' rel=\'nofollow external\'>
    Psychofluid: Evolution、CD- タワーレコード

The faulty chars are there. And I noticed indeed that the psynews tables were still in latin and were never converted to utf-8 whereas IPB3 is supposed to have UTF-8 tables. So this issue is 10 years old actually...

Using a tool I converted all the tables' encodings and the problem was solved and won't happen again. Crazy shit.  :)

  4. IMO this is a great album. I've received promos of these tracks for years and I can tell they don't age easily and I still find a lot of pleasure listening ot them.

To me it's useless to try and compare with RA's previous works. The new album is more dancefloor-oriented and more experimental at times.

Terra is deep and peaceful and it uses sounds you don't hear often.

Predator Remix is gorgeous, send you to space immediately. A real upgrade ot the original track.

Sacred Sands is pure trip to RA's land, with brain-scratching parts :)

Crossing Planet is a destroyer, total dancefloor killer.

12th Hour works wonders on the dancefloors, it blows your brains. It was the last track made for this album, when Menkalian was involved. But most of the strucutre had been set up a couple of years earlier. The preview was great, the final one is awesome. It's very interesting to see how tracks can evolve...

Touch a Star just forces tears from your eyes...what a progression, what a story, how many emotions ?

Causatum, finally shows RA is still a master at creating downtempo tracks.

Naturally you could expect I would be very enthusiastic about a Suntrip album. But we're releasing it because it's great, no more no less :) I'm sure it will become a classic.

    Tracklist:

    1. Terra [07:31]

    4. Crossing Planet [11:14]

    5. 12th Hour (with. Menkalien) [09:26]

    6. Touch a Star [09:02]

    7. Causatum [07:36]

    Total playing time: [64:23]

    Mastering : Tim Schuldt @ 4CN studios

What, nobody to start this review thread yet ? OK I'll do it, as a Goa fan.

IMO this is a great album. I've received promos of these tracks for years (eg most of Crossing Planet was produced just after 9th as released)...and I can tell they don't wear out easily and I still find a lot of pleasure listening ot them.

As usual this album took years to shape. The RA guys work remotely and also have their own fmaily lives, which is why they don't produce much, but work in small sessions where they rework their tracks on and on. This time, Antonio 'Menkalian' Simonovski from Cosmic Dimension (who was taught many things by RA a few years back) joined Christer and Lars in 2015/2016 and helped putting final touches to a couple of tracks.

Terra is deep and peaceful and it uses sounds you don't hear often.

Predator Remix is gorgeous, send you to space immediately. A real upgrade ot the original track.

Sacred Sands is pure trip to RA's land, warm, mystical, with brain-scratching parts :)

Crossing Planet is a destroyer, total dancefloor killer. Heck, just turn on youtube, enjoy and come back later!

12th Hour works wonders on the dancefloors, it blows your brains! It was the last track made for this album, when Menkalian was involved. But most of the structure had been set up a couple of years earlier. The preview was great, the final one is awesome. It's very interesting to see how tracks can evolve...

Touch a Star just forces tears from your eyes...what a progression, what a story, how many emotions ?

Causatum, finally shows RA is still a master at creating downtempo tracks.

In short, Earthcall is a deep, warm, entrancing album full of details and emotions. To me it's useless to try and compare with RA's previous works. The new album is more dancefloor-oriented and more experimental at times. I'm sure it will become a classic.

  6. Hi my name is Tom, I'm 36 years old, and I'm a grumpy old goa trance.

If you are a grumpy old goa trancer.. whatsup!

Raising hand too ! 39 years old, French, into the scene for 21 years, on psynews for 16 years, and naturally severely grumpy.

Besides Goatrance, I think there has been a bunch of good FullOn (eg Xerox, XI) and Progressive (Symphonix, Suntree, Ovnimoon...check IONO records) albums in the past years. Ambient too (Ultimae records). Though I believe the level has decreased in the past 3 years due (imo) to more time spend by artists on facebook and less in front of their machines...

Why did you suddenly join psynews? I see you are new since June 2016 :)

This isn't a 'secret' double account to search for compliments? :P

    ...NOT.

He has another account with zero messages, so that doesn't count. 137 messages with this account with one single IP. No VPN here, it's legit.

Not everyone is looking for undue fame.
