Big thanks to Faze who is a star for running a psynews contest - I didn't realise this was the second one...I should pay more attention eh?

Contest Closed.
Thank you to all that entered. There were a lot of cool recommendations.
I have drawn the names from a hat. The winners are below in order drawn, even though order doesn't really matter, as duplicate choices are fine.
1. Rah
2. Heva
3. Snapinho
Congrats to the winners! Please reply here with your preferred choice of CD, and PM me with your shipping address.
Sorry to the people who entered but did not win. I hope you had fun anyway and got some new record recommendations to check out.
Thanks again,
Faze
Me??? I won??
Oooooooooooooooooooh *runs round in circles with excitement*

These days, it is more fancy and cool if you play from vinyls, especially among techno headz, I am constantly sick hearing their elitistic attitudes towards playing music, saying that being a DJ consists only playing vinyls and that CD DJing is for fools and non creative DJ's, what a bollocks, so I gather that CD decks are out these days and people more and more move back to vinyls, which is not something I mind, but I do mind hearing perpetual WORSHIPPING of vinyls and how none other musical performance doesn't make any sense.
I'm not arsed what format the dj chooses to use - as long as he can mix and play decent tunes. Besides the fact that most psytrance nowadays isn't even released on vinyl, sometimes it just isn't practical to dj with it. I went to an outdoor party in Aus once where it was so hot the records actually melted (and no it wasn't due to me tripping, I checked with other people and it really was happening). Mwah.

Ooh a contest! How exciting!!
Hmmm tricky question though - not sure what the album is that I've listened to most....the last few weeks I have been glued to va Hibernation (Iboga) purely for track one - have to crank it each time it comes on. And an oldie but a goodie which I re-discovered the other week is Vatos Locos - Attack and Release which makes me feel all summery oooh yesh it does *bounce*

awww I used to love Land of Freedom on Distance to Goa 4 back in the days *rummages through old cd's*
Yay for transwave making a return - look forward to hearing which audio road they choose to travel (hope it's not one involving vocals pah....)
-
I used to have loads of eat static and peeps like that on tapes when I was younger....then it was vinyl mostly owned by mates (choas laboratory/rock bitch mafia/radio etc) then I had a bout of having my tunes on minidisc before my MD player met an unfortunate demise and then it was cd and then it was mp3....mwah!
People used to like dj using vinyl once upon a time you know....it wasn't always fancy cd decks *phnaaaaaaaarf*

I really don't know, Cabbage was on there, I don't really know much about it and whether it's still holding events there. And that wasn't even strictly psytrance. I guess there's a window of opportunity for some Leeds peeps to organise something....I really like the Windy, so let's hope so.

I shall mostly be at this tomorrow evening. Yay to crystal yamantaka but boo because it's the last one at the Windy centre
Gonna be a really nice party methinks

I got very over-excited about this, it being in Lancs and all. However, unfortunately it clashes with Sonica. And since I have already booked my flights and stuff for that I'm afraid that wins.
Good luck though, looks like a lovely little gathering. Especially since Si Splatt, Nanook and Bez are all playing

i didnt get them today, but this week i got:
vibrasphere - archipelago
va - g-spot (domo recs)
va - kodama (plusquam)
va - hibernation (iboga)

Ye I was staying at my friends house the other week. We came home after a party and put this album on - it's really nice. It got played many times over the weekend and much appreciation by all. I think I may have to get it myself
-
The fridge got busted this weekend and I think their license is under review, or something....
OD you love Eskimo really, if it was biologically possible I think you'd have his babies.
-
I was tempted to get this, since refractions was such a nice stomping dancefloor summer stylee album, but then I listened to the snippets on psyshop and changed my mind.
It seems to have some distinctive protoculture sounds, but it's not new and fresh like I thought it would be. It's sounds all 'reach for the lasers'
Glad to see the reviews confirmed my initial judgement

peter didjital rocks. <insert r0X0r smiley>
