I don't really browse isratrance often, but you don't have to be there long before you notice pavel. If this is him or someone else, then he is the best troll I've ever seen on the internet!
I take it back, I don't think he's trolling us.

like 70'ties old school, i LIKE
Me too!

LOL they have a music video!
Olli has taken one tab too many now I see... What absolute crap.
I can't believe I'm wasting 30 seconds of my life just to comment on this shite video.

Hah I just found out that the Vinyl release had a track the CD one's didn't. Thought it's worth a mention since it looks like most people missed it.
All this time and I just learn this? Hell yes, it's like an old Christmas present that had been undiscovered under the sofa for years ; new etnica track for my ears!

cv313 - Live
Heads up to everyone who has been wanting this out of print masterpiece: it's now back in stock!
It's available right now at boomkat.com and juno.co.uk, though it's a few bucks cheaper at juno (this is helpful because it's nearly 20 bucks not including shipping ).
Get this one before it goes back out of print and starts to sell for $100+ on discogs again!

Miranda is the only one I know of.
Phenomena is a classic goa album.

You should also check this album out: Erik Truffaz - In Between.
Enchnating !
Really nice.
I don't think this counts as Future Jazz but it's close and it has me hooked lately...

Wow, I'm impressed with this. Too bad they don't have a full album out yet.
I like that lion avatar, btw.

To be honest I only really like the first one, the second one is pretty good too though. The rest get too deep into world music for my taste instead of psychedelic.
If you want more like the first I'd listen to The Infinity Project - Mystical Experiences, Shulman - In Search of a Meaningful Moment, and all Androcell albums.

u mean Amon tobin or Squarepusher ?
I meant Amon Tobin. The Squarepusher tracks I've heard aren't what I'm looking for here.
-
Amazing stuff. I used to play the clarinet back in high school, so this is particularly appealing.
Some Amon Tobin ( Permutation, Bricolage ) and many from Squarepusher
I've heard of this artist many times but never checked him out before. Genius.
Nice and relaxing. You can try Hi-Fi Companions – Swingers In Paradise

I've always been in awe of the album Ki Oku by DJ Krush and Toshinori Kondo.
That album eventually led me to check out Charged by Toshinori Kondo, Eraldo Bernocchi, and Bill Laswell.
I crave more of this kind of melancholic trumpeting mixed with dark breakbeat atmosphere.
Can anybody else here recommend any other albums like these? I'm looking for Future Jazz, but if any regular Jazz albums sound like these feel free to share (Miles Davis excepted, I'm familiar with Bitches Brew, etc...)

Giving the latest KDE4 a spin instead of the usual GNOME. So far pretty good.

I had forgotten all about Audacious music player until I saw your screenshot. Thanks for reminding me! I had been using Mplayer. Audacious is much better.

This is nice, a calm, quiet, composed environment to create!
Thank you. I get a lot of my wallpapers from this site: http://interfacelift.com/wallpaper/downloads/date/any/
There's a lot of great stuff there, and its updated daily.
Right now I'm dual-booting Linux with Windows 7. I've been using Windows since DOS and 3.1 as a child, and I have to say Windows 7 is definitely the best so far.
I mostly use it for tinkering with music production software like Reason and gaming.
Otherwise I use linux 99% of the time I'm on my desktop.
-
I always wondered about you guys running Linux, is it compatible with all windows software or do you have to dual boot it for that? I knew a guy about 10 years ago who had his set to dual boot Windows and Linux and said he liked them both basically, but one was better than the other for certain things. But that was 10 years ago....
Xp is solid for me, never ran Vista but had to help many friends with their Vista computers and decided Vista sucks.. 7 looks cool and all but I'm not plunking down another $200 for a different OS if I don't have to. Linux on the other hand has always intrigued me, I just never tried learning anything about it.
I've been using Linux as my main desktop for about four years now. There is a program called WINE that basically allows you to run a lot of programs for Windows in Linux (it isn't really an emulator so to speak, it is an actual backwards-engineered kind of Windows). There is a list of compatible programs here: http://appdb.winehq.org/.
I've always dual-booted Windows with it just in case I need to run a program that wont work in wine. The only time I boot in to Windows is for certain games and other things like Reason.
The reason I don't run Windows by itself is because I prefer the customizability of Linux such as the many different desktop environments, the program repositories, open-source software, security, etc...
You can change any aspect of Linux if you wish.
Linux is the kernel of the operating system and there are many distros (distributions) that can be based on companies, individuals and so on who package their own list of software and customized desktop environment to suit their needs or the needs of the people who will use their distros. Most distros are free.
The most popular distros at least as far as I am aware are Ubuntu, Fedora, OpenSUSE, Red Hat, Debian, Arch Linux, and then thousands more.
Here's a list of distros: http://distrowatch.com/
I was overwhelmed with information when I first came across Linux, so if you're interested in it, take it slow and join some forums and ask a lot of questions.
I recommend the ubuntu forums: http://ubuntuforums.org/index.php
You can run distros like Ubuntu off of USB drives and CD's and DVD's without touching your hard drive if you wish to try it on your hardware (it boots everything into RAM) -- it's known as a LiveCD session.
If everything works you can install from the live environment onto your hard disk and dual boot, triple boot, etc. with your other installed operating systems.
Good luck man. You seem like the type of person who likes to tinker, so I think you'll like Linux.
My advice is to read up as much as possible first on forums and ask questions before you install so you know what you are in for.
I recommend the Ubuntu distribution (which is what I use). I've used literally dozens of other distros in the past, but I always return to Ubuntu.

I would say roughly in this order:
Yagya (get this first!)
Blue Planet Corporation (only if you like old school trance)
Artifakt (great stuff)
Dementertainment (classic Twisted complilation)
Asura (great chillout)
The Delta (dark and awesome)
Ishq (more great chillout)
Dub Trees (even more great chillout)
...

Every track on One Drop Or Two? by Process is full of wonderful psychedelic farts!

Last order for a while, deal was too good to pass up.
Your post just reminded me about this album, so I ordered a copy of it.
I haven't listened to this one in a long time so I listened to the tracks on youtube and now I wonder why I've always passed this one up before. It's bangin stuff!
I think we need to start a section on psynews for all of us who are addicted to buying CDs -- you know, a support group.

The point is that real oldschool goa trance from the 90s has a dirty and grimy undertone. it sounds like dirty bong water, like drinking canned beer in the morning, like smoking pot in public transit and not giving a shit about other passengers, like getting a blowjob while sitting drunk at the beach. "Neogoa" might be nice trance music, but it doesn't sound like all this. it rather sounds like non smoking flights, clean hotel rooms, diet coke and sex with condoms. that's why many people including me don't like it at all.
Hahaha, nice!

Found a used copy for a great price.
Space Tribe - Sonic Mandala
I will not buy more CDs, I will not buy more CDs, I will not buy more CDs...

Taoism is a branch of Buddhism, no ?
Taoism (also spelled Daoism) and Buddhism are two separate religions that developed in different parts of the world around the same period of time, with Taoism possible developing a few hundred years earlier.
Taoism developed in China while Buddhism developed in India, both close to (this isn't an exact date) 450 BCE.
Taoism developed from shamanic traditions with such early works as the I-Ching (much earlier than Taoism), Nei Yeh, Lao-Tzu, and Chuang-Tzu.
Buddhism developed from the oral teachings of Siddhartha Gautama (the Buddha).
The traditional symbol associated with Taoism is the taijitu (yin-yang symbol), though the symbol and concept is present in many Chinese belief systems and didn't originate from Taoism itself.
There are many sects of Buddhism ranging from atheistic and agnostic in a sense to polytheistic.
Taoism can also be seen as a range of sects from atheistic all the way to polytheistic.
Just a quick primer, I couldn't resist! Taoism and Buddhism are two interests of mine.
