    back when you couldnt make that sample fit in to a flat bpm they had to use decimal points....

     

    before timestretching and also when timestretching was not as good as today's...also because it was all hardware apart from the computer sequencer.

     

    perhaps somone can give you a broader perspective but that gives you the gist.

    i am well aware of The Nommos but do wonder how much he had to do with the actual producing of the tracks...

     

    im sure Kode IV has always takin a large part in The Nommos tracks.

    I ve got a problem

    Years ago my friend copied me a disc of cyclone

    and I loved it but the earth was the most crazy of them all

    now I have the vinyl and I also found the cd and the earth is not the same

    Both vinyl and cd has the same earth which is different then the copied one

    is it possible that;

    The earth in Tantrance 2 is different, cause he may have copied from there

    is it a remix or something.

    The copied earth i have has a crazy 303 line at the end and sounds very very different, any info from someone who has tantrance 2

    the version on tantrance is about 10 seconds longer...? unfortunately i dont have the 2nd disc with my Tantrance 2 CD cos i lent it to an old friend and he fuckin lost it in his pig stye!

    i have both the flying rhino and psy harmonics versions on vinyl as well as the cd....psy harmonics has an extra track i think on the vinyl...

     

    i also got that germinator album aswell as another germinator album on high society, which at first i didnt like, but listened to it the other day and it is growing on me like a fine moss...

    i love my 800s!  i have them on vinyl mode all the time, you can hear some scratching in the middle of the mix but i dont do it alot. 

     

    the 0.05% pitch is ... unique ... it would be nice to have a .01 or .02 adjustment, but it works fine.  it does mean you have to be on your toes while mixing, because any mix over 30-60 seconds usually will have to be fine tuned.  what I try to do in that case is have the song im bringing in a bit slower than the one that is playing, and when it goes out of sync, i can speed it up a little to fix it.

     

    i would recommend the 200 for best all-around deck, but the sexy solid build and smooth operation of the 800 make it my favorite CDJ :ph34r:

    i think Goa Trance and the old 'German' Trance had different histories but coming together at the same time...

     

    goa trance from the ebm/new beat/industrial sound etc...

     

    german trance from more euro synth pop/dance sound...of course they do cross over and were a lot more closer together once upon a time...

     

    sven vath started his musical career in some pop/dance outfit, i cant remember the name and he used to be a cainer...these days i think perhaps he is a lot tamer.

    well, it used to be trippy, u know ;)! the psytrance...

    its boring only when there is crappy music played, if u personally feel bored at psy party then why cant u then go to another one :)?! so simple, my opinion is this - i wouldnt feel  too good if i would hear some non psy stuff  <_< ...

    what i am saying my friend..and yes it used to be more trippy...is that there is no problem to hear a track from another genre like acid, techno etc...because there can be and have been many trippy psy tracks from other genres that dont have that specific psy/goa sound and once upon a time those tracks would have been accepted at a 'psy' party but maybe these days people only want that 'psy' sound and things get boring.

     

    dont worry im not agreeing with all these commercial tracks they should not be played at all!:) and yes if i like some other music that isnt played at a psy party i will go to that party but usually i spend all my money on music and none left for all the parties haha... :P

    I never underestimate, but I am talking out of experience. Many times I have played Underworld, Eye-Q records, Harthouse Records etc etc, and everyone always asks me "When did this come out?", "Is this the new Dragonfly?" "Awsome promos you have!"

     

    Im not saying that people on the dancefloor or here are narrow minded, Im mearly saying that people in general get stuck on Genres...

    a lot of those eye-q / harthouse tracks have some great releases and were always apart of that psy/trance sound but i guess today most people will mistake labels like for releasing only club trance...shame on their ignorance.

     

    some of the trippiest stuff like Black Labs on Trope i love and beats the shit out of a lot of so called Psy trance...same goes for stuff on Nova Zembla

    no, im against playing non psy stuff at parties, theire not weird and psychedelic and trippy enough, no story imo, its like playing britney spears in korn concert as a warp-up :)!

    this is why many psy parties are very boring...because they only play that typical psy sound. it's supposed to be about finding the weird trippy sounds from all different places and melding them together.
