  1. I know it very well. When the Carolina Hurricanes first cane to NC, I would drive out there to see games. And if you didn't know, I-40 through there is under eternal construction. Keep us updated on the bottle situation! Mdk
  2. Wow, man that is some serious artistic ability. Maybe you could not only sell them to bars, but also to alcohol companies that are looking to market their product as something different. It doesn't have to be alcohol either. I am sure bottled water companies might be all over this. Perhaps get to know someone who could show your art at an exhibit, using different shaped bottles, colors, etc... Beautiful. Mdk
  3. I avoided getting this one for the longest time because Suomi madness has always been a little too weird for me. I eventually took the plunge. And I am glad I did. Superb sample work that melts seamlessly through he tracks, scrambling bass lines like cockroaches with the light on, yet still utterly groovetastic. As you can see, I really enjoyed this. :posford: Mdk
  4. Damn if this didn't sneak under the radar. DarkPsy yet melodic? C'mon! Really? But I thought...screechy noizes...with the fast bpm?!? This is quite the gem. Pounding beats yet a melody that you can focus on as it carries you deeper into some scary territory. Well done. Can they see South Africa from where they are? Mdk
  5. No argument here. Any idea when this new album shall make its appearance?
  6. Suntrip showing the world how it is done. Is it wrong to fall in love with a label? Mdk
  7. I know one track of his very well and it is a stormer. Plasmoid. Pure brilliance. Mdk
  8. I agree, but how long ago was that? 2004, 2005 maybe? We have seen artists change their styles in shorter time spans than that, i.e. Seroxat, Azax... I own all the Nutek releases and you can see that their style is straight ahead kick you in the nuts full-on. Sometimes I like that, but I also like to be thrown a curve ball. Show me some variety. One could argue that all of their releases sound the same with just different album covers. Of course, I am the putz which continues to purchase them Mdk
  9. I'm listening to this right now and it is...um..KILLARGH!!!! No really, this is absolutely fabulous goa trance. Hats off to you my man, you have made an incredible album. Move over Filteria, there is a new sheriff in town. Mdk
  10. I don't know how some of you guys can't hear the similarities between this and Vibrasphere. Pawelek nailed it. That is not a bad thing and it doesn't take anything away from the superb sound of this album. Really enjoyed this. Mdk
  11. Good call Jon. I don't think there is anyway to single out 10 albums be it goa or psy in our genre. There are just so many great discs out there! But let's see.. I suppose a thread could be created for best Progressive release and I didn't even bother with compilations... Damn, I love this music! Mdk
  12. I recently purchased the VA- Manga and it does not disappoint. Yabai is quietly becoming a label that only releases quality psy. Between the Phatmatix CD and the Samurai VA, there is plenty of good psy to get into. Great job! :clapping: Igor Swamp you say? Any goa in it? Or just Suomi? Mdk
  13. Thanks Basilisk! :clapping: I have been searching for those comps for a while. BTW, your site is a weekly visit from me. Good stuff. Mdk
  14. This label seems to have decided to release music meant straight for the shores of Ibiza. While I will defer judgement until I hear the album, this might set the bar for psytrance at a new low. I hope I am mistaken. Mdk
  15. Blink- The Sound Generator. Very fluffy, but not a slave to club wussiness like I thought it would be. Some good melodies in there. Mdk
  16. No arguments here. Pure brilliance with this effort. It is painfully obvious to me that South Africa has a total mastery of how full-on should be produced. I can also recommend the latest effort by Xatrik and Shift as they equally moving. And since we are discussing South African mastery I would be remiss if I didn't include Tickets latest album Timelapse. I haven't heard V/A Time Cuts, but since I love all that Timecode does, it won't be long! So, between Shift, Tickets, Multistate and Xatrik your brains should be severely scrambled. :posford: Mdk
  17. I really think this has to be looked at again. Very underrated! Because it came out in 2001, I believe it was passed over as old-schoolers looking for that magical past amidst the snoozefest that was minimal. All the tracks on this CD are beautiful melodic goa. I wonder what Olof Lönnroth is doing these days? I know that he had a track on the V/A Blissful Moments that was another great goa track. Anyone have any idea if he is still making music? A new album would really be sweet. Mdk
  18. I'm going to comment on this CD at the risk of sounding unpopular. First I think I should say that I do not enjoy minimal. It's just so...minimal. I find it very boring. So when I got this I didn't listen to it for a long while, because I knew my judgement would be colored. First, it is very psychedelic. I can appreciate the complexity with loads of sounds and awesome basses. The production is crystal clear. I listened to this on a good system so the auditory experience was very crisp. But to me it is still just minimal with no melody and random sounds in very long tracks. There was nothing for me to latch on to, to make any of the tracks memorable. While I have said that I don't enjoy minimal, even a non-believer like me can tell this is well done. If there was a track I liked the best it would be the last one, just because the basses are truly powerful in that track. I think it is also closer to a more enjoyable progressive style with some semblance of melody. Having said that this music is not my cup of tea, it wouldn't be fair for me to rate it. I will say this however. Usually I pass right over minimal trance, and even if I listen to some, it would only be once. With this, I can see myself giving it multiple listens to see if it would grow on me. I guess that's a start. Mdk
