I'm estimating around 1200 unique goa trance CDs, including nitzhonot and not including bootlegs. Obviously I don't count different releases of the same CD here.... Also I'm not counting trance, newschool goa (>2003) or psy trance (the stuff developing around 1999).
Around 600 of those CDs are compilations.
What is your opinions?

I think it is an addiction to me.
I usually listen to music when on the computer.... I like to listen while cooking.... While running and working out usually. Recently I started listening during lectures in school, and I listen on the bus and while driving too! If I listen also to fall asleep and as my alarm clock in the morning, that can be like 12-16 hours a day. Probably usually around 8-10 though.
I have a lot of new material to listen to... of course I don't listen to the same stuff over and over!
Anyways, the reason is that my life is just too boring. (Even my lectures are boring... I can listen to music and get A's without studying all at the same time lol.) In the future I hope to create a more exciting life. I'd like to say cut music (LISTENING TO) altogether, but I somehow doubt I'd be able to.

In electronic music you are free to use any sounds possible! After all the "artist" has to both make the sounds AND arrange them, not just arrange them like writing music in the past!
What I really love is when an album creates it's own new sound, this is it's personality, which makes it stand out from others! Otherwise it's forgettable, and even if it's excellent arrangement, I won't remember it as well as something that's used creative sounds.
This is why I love Entheogenic, Aes Dana, Distant System, Mystical Sun, Aural Planet, etc (chillout); Jaia, Chi-AD, Dimension 5, Ra, Etnica/Pleiadians, Miranda, etc (goa trance); etc, and these all come first to mind: the arrangement is good, but more importantly it has a radically unique sound compared to all the other music being released!
The worst thing for me is these ambient releases like "Treasure" that use the same boring "soundscape" sounds that were used like 15 years ago!!! I hear this album is very good, but I can't remember a single thing about it after 3 listens other than that it was very cliche and forgettable (I can't even remember the artist name, lol)! This means I CANNOT consider the album much good at all.
The main problem with psytrance / goa trance these days is that it lacks it's creative sound. The same can be said for a lot of chillout and other genres of music. Too many imitation artists trying to "revive" goa trance by copying the most cliche elements or sticking with the "full on" sound, etc.
I would say, for example, to Filteria: HELLO, we don't want massive amounts of "three-oh-whogivesafuck" laser sounds... it's not MORE that's better, please put some effort to make more creativity in your music rather than make it more like the majority of past goa trance, then it will really be a classic. (Look at Ra - 9th for example, and of course To Sirius as well.) I give an example from goa trance simply because I know it best. I've heard tons of forgettable music in other genres too.

Cell is pretty good, but in my mind he is blackened because I was annoyed at cliche sample use and re-releasing tracks with mostly filler between them.... I need to listen again and form a better judgment.
Androcell is trippy and melodic... I love some parts, but the more I listen I think it's lacking a bit in the end. Still top stuff.
Never bothered to listen to the other Shpongle albums... I couldn't force myself through AYS, that just turned me off completely... when I have so much other music to listen to, I doubt I'll ever get to them.

Sounds like crap....? The track on youtube is using a sample I've heard in about 30x other tracks already and otherwise sounds like poorly mixed fullon.

But after I gave the albums a real chance and a few listens I realized that Emotovision and Efflorescense are excellent! Actually tracks 6-8 on Emotovision are a bit weak but all the other tracks are great! I must say all these are some of the better chillout music I ever heard....
Also I used to think Deep Dive Corp was crappy music too, but then I fell in love with the simplicity of Support Your Local Groover and need to hear the others now.
Other things I came to realize? Side Liner - My Guardian Angel is pretty good, and the Asura tracks with vocal samples are very good but the rest of them kind of suck! The only good track on Master Margarita - Mastura is the Earth Vibes remix... wish I knew who this was.
