1. I am liking .......

    Buzzmonx - Toms 'n' Jerry - plusquam ....

Both Groove Zone records comps ...... top stuff .....

Tribal Visions comp - Urban Ledgends .....

Inpirazzia - VP Recs - more leaning towards proggy house - v good.

Prooved 2 - plastic park - not the original PP style but this is fantastic !!

Frogacult album - something for sundays - iboga .....

    V/A playground - iboga again .......

erm ....... I'll keep on thinking - there is stacks of good stuff about at the moment !

  2. I listened to the music but I wont get into a review simply because it's not my taste of music.  So it would not be objective.

I will say though that your sound production is good.

    Good luck with the music.

    Hey Thanks man. :)

I must admit I did wonder what you'd make of it - knowing a bit about your musical preference (from listening to your music). Thanks for not flaming us because it is not to your taste .... ;)

    So yes - nice one !!! :P

My tastes are moving more to the progessive side of things anyway .... I dont really listen to much full on anymore.

I guess we are still writing more hectic/full-on stuff as we've been plugging away at it for years now - no point in stopping. Just started to get some interest from labels and a couple of gigs playing live (well ableton live heheh !) lined up for the summer ......

Will post links to proggy stuff in a few months I reckon .... would really like to get moving on that side of things ...... just no time at the moment. Theres a little baby taking up rather a lot of my attention at the moment !! he he

  3. go to isratrance where people are so much more openminded than here ;)

    234733

he eh !! dunno about that ...... (I'm sure your tounge is firmly in your cheek here ) he eh !!

"Its a Killllarrrgghhh !!!!!! when you mka musac the brds all snig !"

I suppose Iain just wanted to know what people thought of some of our work ......

Neither of us are claiming to be the next big thing, although I do a good Skazi impression to Bohemian Rhapsody ... ;) <cheesyairguitarmeister>

The music is still very much hit or miss. We probably only get to the final stages of 20% of it ....... its an uphill struggle ...... hence the feedback thing. It may save us time. After all you cant polish a turd !!

I'll post up some links to our proggy stuff soon too .......

  4. 42

    233554

Yes - but what is the question?

Or more to the point .... why are the question and answer mutually exclusive in this case ? To know one means you can never know the other ....... although apparently frogs come into play somewhere along the line ......

    <loves douglas adams>

Oh @ Ivan - Is Poi the answer you are looking for ?

  5. I bought the first album on this label. "Pumping Drops" - I wasn't overly impressed. A couple of nice tracks ..... I especially liked the way that they got ALL of the BPM's wrong on the track list ...... NO

I listened to the samples of this one the other day too - the freq track sounds like a good un (really good!) .... but nothing else really caught my ear ..... but hey it was late and I was being hassled <another story>

Heva - Make sure you post back and tell us what you think !!! :)

  6. I never heard Dark Progressive before? Or maybe I have and mistake it for something else?!. Gimme some examples... I'm interested!

    231218

Erm, Zenon records is a good example. Owned by Sensient ...... check out the last comp - Intelligent Manipulation .......

  7. I really do like this album but the more I listen the more it just sounds like slower full on.

I think I prefer Playground to this release, although it is still a good one! Definitely recommended.

Arrrgghhh - The David Bowie sample in the Zen Mechanics track really pisses me off !

"Ground Control ...... Ground Control" - what is it trying to say ? Is it Major Tom trying to contact us from beyond the grave? No, I didn't think so ...... Good track ruined for me by some random sample that adds nothing to the overall end product .......

Dig the Cubica track - great for mixing as it is fairly minimal ...... :)

Thumbs up to Ace Ventura ..... Cool track - I actually quite like the annoying acid lick at the end ...... ;):P

Freq - can't remember the track but I can be sure that it sounds like every other 140 BPM track he has done, no disrepect intended. I find that out of the 20 odd Freq tracks I have only a couple of them really do it for me ........ "We Communicate" totally rocks, but thats on a different comp so I'll shut up about that now ......

The Perfect stranger track is very nice indeed .... me likey !! :P Grooveh ! B)

Neither the Yotopia track or the Sunseek track are really my cup of Chai but are still nice full power / proggy tunes ..... a bit like full on, but slower. Probably wouldn't spin them but enjoyable anyway.

Aerospace track - its ok but the alarm bells started ringing for me when I heard the female vocal. There is some stuff on their Album that is quite nice though ......

Pixel track is very nice indeed .... heard that one played out a few times now ...

Overall - this is an album that I have really enjoyed listening to & digesting ... a few real gems on there for sure !!!! Should appeal to a fairly wide psy audience too ......

    :):P

  8. Was just wondering if anyone could point me in the direction that had all the different chords and scales written out or in a chart or something,

    227193

You should be able to buy a chord sheet very cheaply from any 'classical' music shop.

ie. the type of shop that sells Piano's etc ..... They often sell sheet music as well.

I bought one for £1 in my local Piano shop (Yamaha Dealer). I use it all the time !!! A very good buy !

    :)

  9. To compare the Tsunami CD to Bob Geldorf and Live Aid is redicolous.

    224864

    he eh e !!

A bad comparison. The similarity ends with the fact that both were using music to raise money for people. Fair enough.

I was just trying to make a point ..... and that was that it is a bit unfair to publically badmouth a project donating its proceeds to charity. Especially when one is as conscientious as E.P. ;)

  10. You know nothing about me dude and my motives...  But you know what?  I really dont care what you think of me ;)

    224833

    Ok.

I will do something that is not very common on internet forums and concede that I can now see the basis for your "self righteous" ramblings, as I so eloquently put it. I have no tact, something I am sure you are familiar with.

I know you dont care what I think of you. Vice Versa. I just wanted to make a point here. You probably dont know, or rather, care much, about Chris Organic or his motives, either.

Your arguement, and the fact that you list the many good things you do with your energy, simply helps me to illustrate my point better. The things I implied about you made you react defensively. You felt the need to put me right on a few things. I would wager that this is how your post would make Chris Organic feel, if he were, indeed, to read it.

The one thing I hope we can agree on is that I should not have been making assumptions about you and perhaps, in the same note, you should not be making assumptions about Chris Organic. Its the same thing isn't it? And its not very nice is it?

It would seem that you spend alot of time and energy contributing postively to issues you feel are worthwhile. Good on you.

Can you not see that this is what this CD is trying to do? Would you not, considering your own beliefs and actions, encourage this kind of thing, rather than casting negative aspersions upon it?

I see your point totally when it comes to the fact that only a few artists have contributed original works to this cd. I suppose a part of this issue was timing. I'm sure the tracks on there would be pretty crap if all of the artists involved had to write them within such a short space of time. It is not a question of artistic integrity IMO.

Oh - I dont own the cd by the way. I wont be buying it either - I cant afford it at the moment. Before anyone pipes up, I donate a percentage of my wages to two chosen charities ...... that is as much as I can do at the moment.

I may not be able to support this project financially. But I certainly wont try to scupper its success. Good luck to them and all affected by the tragic chain of events which, ultimately, led to this discussion in the first place.

Good luck with the CD for Africa. You wont see me dissing it anywhere!

  11. I guess your from UK and have to protect one of your mates ;)  There's nothing like Patrioism ;)

    224800

Good Guess at that fact that I am from the UK. Its displayed in my profile details. :)

With regards to Chris Organic, he is not one of my friends - I've never met him. Oh & I'm not patriotic at all, and even if I were I would not try to display the notion by supporting Chris Organic. Duh!

The point I was trying to make is that you are making yourself look like a wanker, I'm not insinuating that you are actaully a wanker. Drawing comparisons to Africa whilst, no doubt, sitting in a nice cosy room typing slanderous bullshit seems "oh so" a tad self righteous to me. Not exactly a "positive contribution" really is it?

Why dont you do something to help other's with your projects then? Then perhaps you would have some basis for your self righteous ramblings. I'm still not sure how you can cast aspersions like this. Its not like the problems in Africa are automatically Chris Organic's problem just because he releases a benefit cd for Tsumani victims. I really dont see the connection. Perhaps it is just in your head.

Moving on. Many artists go down the "shameless self promotion" route .... if you want you could even look at your signature for starters. ;)

The way I see it is like this. Alot of people have given some of their music to raise some money for people who have a had a bit of shit time recently. In doing this they are not ignoring the problems the rest of the world are having, they are just trying to do what they can. :)

  12. Of course all this is my personal views but I cant stop feeling this CD had a "hidden" agenda!  To promote Chris Organic's name

    224779

    Thats a bit harsh E.P......

... a bit like saying Bob Geldof done Live Aid for the publicity .....

Charity organizations have given more to Africa, Sudan etc, than you can probably possibly imagine. And what happens to the money? Well, alot of it gets wasted. Alot of kit goes into the pockets of "charity organizations". Alot of it buys aid that gets stolen ..... beleive me, just because there is no media frenzy, dont think that hard working organizations havn't been ploughing money into Africa for years. Alot of money mate, and alot of money THAT IS NOT DOING ANY GOOD!!

And anyway, excuse my French, but what the f*ck has Africa got to do with the Tsunami anyway? Your attitude smacks of sour grapes mate .......

Still, if you want to make yourself look like a wanker by spending a chunk of your "oh so precious time" bad mouthing someone, who is actually trying to do some good, then that is up to you.

  13. Some nice tracks on the latest cd from Flow records. Echo's .....

A nice mix of tracks. Some are kinda like a very laid back funky version of full on. Have a listen to some samples. A couple of good proggy tunes on there as well.

Really nice tracks from Man Made Man, Quadra and Hydrphonic. All in a nice 140'ish BPM laid back style.

    :)

For the those who don't know, "Hoi polloi" is the ancient greek term for "the many" or "the masses"; in the 1930's it was twisted by posh types to mean "the great unwashed"
