I realllly like the Jikooha track, amazing, and better as anything they did before! :)

    Oh yeah! :-)

    I bought from this compilation

    Hypnagogia - Cosmic Interference
    Jikooha - Indigos
    Nebula Meltdown - Epsilon Orionis

"Indigos" is very very good midtempo track and the best track of the compilation. Nice drums, percussions, playful bassline and the melodic acidlines and synths are catchy. :-)

  2. For me its more music for the dancefloor. At home it doesnt grabs me, But at the dancefloor i have a lot of fun, if Proxxeus plays his music. Energy, flow and acid are cool! :-)

    Negative comment:
I do not sound rude, but the melody in "Old Keziah" @5:32 sounds odd. Not because of the notes. More the the way of playing. I think "jolty" is a good word to descripe it. And it destroys the track for me. :-( In the other hand its cool to hear a melody without arpeggiator. Next time it will be better. :-)

  3. Long awaited album and it is great, but no masterpiece overall, but with some masterpieces.

Luna Core is very atmospheric with his sound of a mystic flute and reverb. Neura reminds me at his climax on Moksha (maybe the chords are similar). Good anticipation. The first to track are a good warm up. With Secret of the Atoms the acidstorm begins. :-) The follow-ups Moskha and Convergent Images are the classics and masterpieces of the album. Pure bliss! :-) Acidic, chaotic, psychedelic, aggressive melodic (very nice melodies, especially Convergent Images) mastertunes. The dancefloor is burning. :-) Secret of the Atoms, Moskha and Convergent Images are the best tracks of the album. Metalucid is the perfect coming down. This six tracks work perfect together. Until here it is one album for me.

The last two tracks are different and fall out of the concept. More music for the morning, i think. Innerscape reminds me on Astral Projection. Hmm its a boring track. The melodies are medicore. Lightswitch is better. The Bassline reminds me on Doof (Star Above Parvati). I like the glassy sounded fx. Its a good track. Maybe the better way would be to close the album with In the Stream or/and Winter Tickle. Then the album would be a masterpiece for me.

    8/10

  4. The 29th session of Return of the Sun is out! This time the set starts calm with breaks and is very atmospheric and spacy. Goes on into midtempo Goatrance/Trance. The speed rises and the set ends with full power melodic Goatrance. Enjoy the trip! :-)

  5. Hello psynewers,

I done a new set. This time I decide to make something special and I experiment a bit with tracks of different styles and genres and of course I like all tracks very much. :-) So here are comes and work goa, trance, techno, (tech)house together and complement each other. I think if we want that goatrance developed (and not stagnates) then we should look sometimes to other genres to get new impulses, ideas and creativity.

The idea behind the "Colorful Electronica"-Sets is to bring many genres of electronic dance music together. No matter it is techno, trance, goa, breaks, ambient or house. Or its old, or its new. Or its fast or slow. Back in the 90s all styles were played at one party.
I selected and mix all tracks carefully, so you have a nice colorful journey through the beauty of electronic dance music. :)

    Tracklist:
    1. Stevie B Zet - Blue Illusion (Flat Horizin Mix) //EyeQ
    2. Voiski - Megatrance //Super 95

  8. For me the album is very ambivalent at the moment.

The positive thing is, that i really like the fresh sounddesign, the variety of the work with drums and percussion in some tracks, the fx and the quality of the production. And of course the tracks under 140 bpm. Midtempo Goa is not too often nowadays.

The lack for me here are the melodies. There are dont catch me. To make matters worse is the repetition of the melodies and this is boring. :-(

Anyway i think its objective a good album with fresh sound and ideas. :-) Some producers should follow Ufomatka and should more courage to experiment.

This three tracks i like and this are my favorites: 2, 6, 8 :-)

  9. R-84623-1213944315.jpeg.jpg

Good Album. It has three outstanding tracks, and all of this are written only by Matthias Rumoeller.
"At The Edge Of Time", "The Awakening" and "Going With The Flow" are very good tracks with nice melodies and a nice flow. :-) "The Awakening" is the masterpiece of the album. The composition @4:25 is sooo cool! And the melody, which kicks in @4:52 is amazing!!! Full of energy and joy!! :-) :-)
"Drosophila" has a memorable hookline. And here again Rumoeller is involved.
The other tracks are sounds ok. To repetitive and little boring after a while of listening.

    The artwork is very good.

    My results:

    Tribolus 7/10
    Fatal Error 6/10
At The Edge Of Time 9/10
    Drosophila 7/10
    The Awakening 10/10
    Sexdrugs & Acidtrance 5/10
    T.O.T.C. 5/10
    Transformation 5/10
    The Norb 5/10
    Going With The Flow 10/10

    Final result: 7/10!

  10. Hello Psynewers. :-)

  11. Iam to lazy to write a big review, because it is to hot in Berlin.. haha! Maybe later...

But i like the album really much. The sounddesign is modern and smooth, but it has also his harsher moments (acid!) ;-) The work on the melodies are great. There are complex, catchy and subtle. I played "Creation" at Antaris-Festival as my last track of my set. It was the perfect ending with his morning-feeling and hard acid-riffs. People love it! :-)

I like the concept of the album with the connection to live and spirituality.

The only small point i dont like that much is the bass. Maybe its to fullon to me, because the bass sounds through the album similar for my ears. ;-)

But all in all a great album and one of the best this year so far.

    I give 9/10!

  12. Iam more the fanboy of melodic stuff. But also I like good sounddesign and interesting ideas.

"Identity Mash" sound modern and fresh, has a good work on details and has many power for the dancefloor. :)

    My highlights are
    - the glassy sound of the melody in "Folie a Deux" @5:41.
    - the whole track "Inculcating Ideas (Filteria Remix)", because it is so melodic and euphoric. ^_^
    - the slowdown-sound@ 0:37 and the climax in "Identy Mash"
    - the intro and the beginning of "Cousin it (2017 Mix). It sounds like a comming swarm of some mysterious. And of course the climax with the hard acidsounds.

    Result: 8/10  :)

  13. Last time i skip through a current set from Sven Väth. He plays some nice fluffy trancey TechHouse. I detected a cool track by Butch "Countach" released on Cocoon.

The pads at 4:10 are so good. It has an deep emotional feeling. Its a hommage on classic german trance.

Maybe good for a faster number in the ChillOut. ;-)

Another thing bugging me (about this album and new school in general) is the absence of memorable hooks: ok, you're having a good time while listening to this album but press "stop" and try continuing the melody in your head: nothing will come because nothing really stands out! I remember back in the days some oldschool melodies were so memorable that they would stay in my mind for YEARS. For example, I haven't listened to Prana - Scarab for at least 5 years but all I have to do is close my eyes, think about the track and it all comes back to me in a flash: the way it starts with the didgeridoo sounds, the way it picks up and continues, the way it stops near the end and the great melody starts just when you thought the track was over, EVERYTHING! That simply isn't the case here, or with most newschool releases. Maybe this should be something that newschool producers should keep in mind for future releases?

I read your old review on discogs and i wonder you see at the same way today? It is right many Neogoa has unmemorable melodies, cliche-sounds and so on. But here I hear one memorable melody after another. Some tracks have not only one hook. Here are not only floating melodies or arpeggiator after arpeggiator. The whole album is memorable. That is the reason why this is a real classic for me and one of the best albums in history of Goatrance. :-)
