  1. The reviews here are really positive. And iam happy for Median Project that many people like his album. But i have a another opionon.

On the technial side the album is "boom"! Really clean and perfect production. But the music on its own and the sounddesign dont catch me. No memorable melodies here, no hooks i wating for. It feels like 10000 arpeggiators, delay & reverb fx playing together the same notes ever and ever again. One idea/compostion for nine tracks. The sounddesign sounds cool, ok, but it has nothing special. For me it sounds like Katedra with a little bit of Artifact303. Within the album the tracks sounds to similar. If I skip through the album I think its the same track as before.

The compare to Mindsphere and Astral Projection, I think, does not fit completely, because Mindsphere and Astral Projection has memorable melodies and compostions. And the sounddesign has more variety.

Maybe Iam to trancy for this album and more a freak of music than productions skills. ;-)

This just seems to grow on you on every listen. I very much agree, pls give it a couple of listens before judging. This is a very intense neo goa album!

I think, its not an good statement to say listen to an album 100 time and then its sound good. If i listen to an album three times and it dont catch me, then it is boring for me. Maybe I like it in 10 years, if i listen again. That is possible. ;-)

  2. Funny topic.

The first favorite song i remember is "Lambada" by Kaoma :D

I get the cassette of the techno-smurfs as a gift. This was my favorite track. Original was "Omen III" by Magic Affiar, i think.

"Children" brought me to electronic music and trance. :-) RIP

1996 was a great year for commerical trance: ;-)

My first "underground" track was "trash the temple". I dont have the vinyl :D It was included in the racing-game "Screamer 2". I love the whole soundtrack. As a child i recorded is on cassette to take it with me to the school trip in 1997. :)  Recently i notice, that many tracks, maybe all tracks were released on vinyl by serious artists. This year I bought the vinyl from "Trash the Temple". And the track is so good, very nice Acidtrance. One of my absolute favorites until now. :)

    12 years old
In 1998 i bought my first cd: The Love Parade 98 comilation with tracks by Dr. Motte & Westbam, Energy 52, Kai Tracid and Aurora Borealis. "The Milky Way" was my favorite track (with the Naline and Kane rmx from "Cafe del mar"), which originally released in 1994.

And yes of course it was in 1998, the best Tunnel Trance Force was released. So cool tracks are on this CD by Hypertrophy, Push, Aquaplex Meets Jumk Project, Travel, C&M, Plastic Angel, Double Force, Dj Dean etc. :)

After 10 years of mainly listen to goa, I went back to trance and discover Oldschool trance by Eye Q Records and MfS. :)

[It] is typical NeoGoa,and there is no memorable Melody on the whole Album.

    +1

One exception for me is the first track "Rusalka". I like the melody@4:35min. And ok "Rise of the Dacians" has @4:44min this dreamy feeling, I really like.

The positive thing here for me is the cool sounddesign (exception: Terp Muronivid Aivlsa): I like the smooth and soft Baselines and Kick. The one note rolling bassline of "Rusalka" works very good.

And of course E-Mantra has his own style, and this is good. But I think his style works better in his downtempo/ambient side. ;)

    Trackliste

    1 Audio Blend 8:03 124 bpm
    2 Ash 10:27 120 bpm

Sebastian Mazel is Sébastien Masurel...hm i dont who he is exactly, but discogs says he has many to do with Blue Planet Corperation and DAT Records.

Audio Blend is an very interessting EP. Discogs classyfied it as Acid and Deep Techno. For me it sounds like Down-Midtempo Goatrance. Its progressive with long build ups. The climaxes are wilder with a lot of sounds and melodys, which flows in one another, especially in "Ash" with a massive thunder of acidsounds. The composition has the typical vibe of Oldschool Goa. With the modern sounddesign its sounds very fresh and interessting for me. The lower bpm gives the tracks a groovy feeling.
Summarized: The Audio Blend EP by Sebastian Mazel contains fresh melodic, groovy and psychedelic music. I like it a lot. :-)

I realllly like the Jikooha track, amazing, and better as anything they did before! :)

    Oh yeah! :-)

    I bought from this compilation

    Hypnagogia - Cosmic Interference
    Jikooha - Indigos
    Nebula Meltdown - Epsilon Orionis

"Indigos" is very very good midtempo track and the best track of the compilation. Nice drums, percussions, playful bassline and the melodic acidlines and synths are catchy. :-)

  7. For me its more music for the dancefloor. At home it doesnt grabs me, But at the dancefloor i have a lot of fun, if Proxxeus plays his music. Energy, flow and acid are cool! :-)

    Negative comment:
I do not sound rude, but the melody in "Old Keziah" @5:32 sounds odd. Not because of the notes. More the the way of playing. I think "jolty" is a good word to descripe it. And it destroys the track for me. :-( In the other hand its cool to hear a melody without arpeggiator. Next time it will be better. :-)

  8. Long awaited album and it is great, but no masterpiece overall, but with some masterpieces.

Luna Core is very atmospheric with his sound of a mystic flute and reverb. Neura reminds me at his climax on Moksha (maybe the chords are similar). Good anticipation. The first to track are a good warm up. With Secret of the Atoms the acidstorm begins. :-) The follow-ups Moskha and Convergent Images are the classics and masterpieces of the album. Pure bliss! :-) Acidic, chaotic, psychedelic, aggressive melodic (very nice melodies, especially Convergent Images) mastertunes. The dancefloor is burning. :-) Secret of the Atoms, Moskha and Convergent Images are the best tracks of the album. Metalucid is the perfect coming down. This six tracks work perfect together. Until here it is one album for me.

The last two tracks are different and fall out of the concept. More music for the morning, i think. Innerscape reminds me on Astral Projection. Hmm its a boring track. The melodies are medicore. Lightswitch is better. The Bassline reminds me on Doof (Star Above Parvati). I like the glassy sounded fx. Its a good track. Maybe the better way would be to close the album with In the Stream or/and Winter Tickle. Then the album would be a masterpiece for me.

  9. The 29th session of Return of the Sun is out! This time the set starts calm with breaks and is very atmospheric and spacy. Goes on into midtempo Goatrance/Trance. The speed rises and the set ends with full power melodic Goatrance. Enjoy the trip! :-)

  10. Hello psynewers,

I done a new set. This time I decide to make something special and I experiment a bit with tracks of different styles and genres and of course I like all tracks very much. :-) So here are comes and work goa, trance, techno, (tech)house together and complement each other. I think if we want that goatrance developed (and not stagnates) then we should look sometimes to other genres to get new impulses, ideas and creativity.

The idea behind the "Colorful Electronica"-Sets is to bring many genres of electronic dance music together. No matter it is techno, trance, goa, breaks, ambient or house. Or its old, or its new. Or its fast or slow. Back in the 90s all styles were played at one party.
I selected and mix all tracks carefully, so you have a nice colorful journey through the beauty of electronic dance music. :)

  13. For me the album is very ambivalent at the moment.

The positive thing is, that i really like the fresh sounddesign, the variety of the work with drums and percussion in some tracks, the fx and the quality of the production. And of course the tracks under 140 bpm. Midtempo Goa is not too often nowadays.

The lack for me here are the melodies. There are dont catch me. To make matters worse is the repetition of the melodies and this is boring. :-(

Anyway i think its objective a good album with fresh sound and ideas. :-) Some producers should follow Ufomatka and should more courage to experiment.

This three tracks i like and this are my favorites: 2, 6, 8 :-)
