  1. Jus Allah killed it on this one: And yeah Vinnie too ofc. ^^
  2. Vinnie P went raw in this one.
  3. Dark melancholic I likey.
  4. For "mainstream" into the Goa foray there were several in the 90s, with mainstream in these cases I count radio friendly club music. For example in Sweden we had several such cross-overs. I Savastano, and others who often made remixes of Goa tracks or in some cases hade pure Goa projects, which were short-lived once the Goa hype died. The cross-over between Miranda, Earthbound, Antiloop etc were others. And with AP as popular I based that on the type of venues they still play at, for Goa Trance they still bring quite large numbers. Even if they aren't perhaps near the album sales numbers they were in their prime. But not many are these days I'd say. Streams will probably not give the full picture of a project/artists success anyways. These are just my observations, and I'm in no way an expert. The labels and artists themselves should have the full picture. And yes you are probably correct in your assertion that Astral Projection might not be super recognized in mainstream circuits, not as much as Infected atleast. But still I'd say they are among the most well known, along with Hallucinogen probably for Goa atleast. In the 90s obviously things were a bit different. And they enjoyed quite a bit of "mainstream" success with music video on MTV if I remember correctly. But sure for people like me who eat and breathe Goa, one might perhaps see things from quite a narrow perspective. In my world AP are as big as one can get. It would be interesting to know how AP are perceived in Israel? Are they well known by people in general there? Or part of somekind of underground movement? I've seen some interviews with AP on Israeli TV-Shows on youtube, which aren'from the 90s atleast. But I have no clue about what they're talking about. And I don't know what type of TV channels those are either. If they are small local city channels or some big ones. Maybe someone here on the forum who lives there can enlighten us? btw @Trolsk is it possible to get some statistics like the one you provided from Spotify from Youtube? And is it only me who finds it a bit weird that the remix of Let There Be Light by Outsiders has so many streams in comparison to the rest of AP's tracks? Firstly because it is a really old track from the 90's that's remixed, and secondly because I haven't heard of Outsiders before. (Since primarly listen to old school Goa). So yeah either they're some really popular artist on spotiy, or there might some bought stream farms at work. Which isn't particularly uncommon these days, with purchased streams, followers, likes etc.
  5. Daym bro sorry to hear about the health problems. Anyways glad to see you back in full power. You are truly the soul of Psynews, now that you are back we can begin again to focus the spiritual light, and re-align the Psynews chakras with the Pleiades star cluster.
  6. Good innitiative, I read about his situation via Dragonfly Rec on Facebook.
  7. It was probably in some way a precursor to the current gen of social medias. And yeah I agree what a joke reddit etc is, Psyops at their finest. It would be interesting to know what the ratio of real users and state sponsored bots are on all of the biggest social media platforms. The comment fields and content on TikTok are probably the worst. As for mars keeping a backup of that OT mess, I doubt it.
  8. I think the only ones who can answer this properly is Filteria or his label mates. Aren't you on Suntrip btw? E-Mantra? Maybe we could find the answer by sending out some digital smoke signals to Jannis: @Filteria Provided that he has his mail account up to date on this forum. I did hear either this remix or some other one of the same track on a live set in Sweden long ago, around 2008 or so. His remix of Maia stood out more, since I love that track. And also a Trip Tonite remix. Maybe Asterope or Alcyone as well. Cheers
  9. Interesting question, I think there might be some who for example have anymous new projects. In order to avoid some stigma perhaps associated with Psy, It's atleast something I've read about on another forum. Where people who had Goa projects in the 90s, today look back on it as something a bit cringey from their youth. On the other hand I think there were also people who transitioned from more "regular" mainstream music into the Goa Trance market, when it became a short gold-rush. As with anything I guess some enter things based on trends/financial opportunities. I think Infected Mushroom and other artists from Israel who were embraced by both the Psy scene and more mainstream market segments, had a good formula. Astral Projection I see as one of the few groups who didn't need to compromise on their style. It has stayed more or less the same in essence. And is still widely popular it would seem.
  10. Yes, I loved when the Levi's jeans commercial came on the TV in the 90's with the best part of that tune.
  11. Cool gonna check Psychogen out, is it a project slanted more towards the Psy or Goa side of things? And yeah more artists from Denmark are always welcome!
  12. I love the hologram sticker and print on the limited edition Distance to Goa 4. The coherency of the Aurora thematics of the Northern Lights album, which has a very clean nordic aesthetics for the booklet which is full of great moody photos. To me this album artwork is something like clean futuristic corporate identity meets cosmic new age. The Eternal Trance compilation design is pure 90s New Age gold for me. Photo of my beloved and very old worn poster for that compilation.
  13. Great bring it on, will the artwork be the same or slightly updated? @Widar Nice! always cool with some archival material flyers etc.
  14. @MikroMakro I totally respect your integrity and vision. If I could add my five cents, just to offer one perspective. I would say that perhaps a good motivating aspect with having your music released on for example Drake's label. Would be that your music would live on, even after the demise of this forum, Soundcloud etc. And it would survive you as well. Think about that. And also when Drake here shared his experience of people dancing to your tunes in Goa, that sounds like your music has a destiny to me. The dancing feet of people don't lie. But yeah I understand you, when music is a passion. One might be a bit apprehensive of the risk of destroying that by mixing in business/contracts/expectations etc.
  15. I'm not ruling out that Simon might've been influenced one way or another by some previous music for Gamma Goblins. However I will say that the scale used in Gamma Goblins a diminished one, which kinda sounds like this by default. If one plays around a little with this scale it tends to automatically sound quite "enigmatic". As it is rather limited in how it sounds. Much like the oriental scales too. I will admit that the posted example tho sounds pretty damn close. It's not a complete match, but close enough to make one wonder. To me the Gamma Goblins track is so much more than just the melodic hook, it's the atmosphere that really takes it home for me. Anyways always fun with some detective work!
  16. I imagine many of these artists very likely could have started out with goa trance as well. There sure is a distinct creative innovative quality to the Danish Psy/Goa scene. I can recognize some of the vibes from the Swedish perspective, in how the danish music has some scaled back introspective tendencies.
  17. Gotcha, it's the slightly higher BPM ranges that fits this type of style/Bass pattern as well. I will do some testing of different bass/kicks and BPM/key ranges. And I suspect they make the decay/envelope on the bass shorter for a snappy feel? Btw do you know how this effect is achieved: On her voice there is what sounds like reverse reverbs. I would love such an effect on a voice sample for transition, I've made something slightly similar with just reversing a sample adding reverb to it and then reversing back to original playback direction or something like that. But this effect in the Haunted Mansion movie sounds way cooler, maybe some Eventide or Lexicon preset? There are some similar ones in the Overloud Breverb Lexicon emulation. Another old school FX experiment I'm playing around with is the water sample through Eventide style reverbs in Gamma Goblins pt2. I've come quite close I'll show you later.
  18. 😄 Kinda OT but you're subtle description of the nuclear radiation in USA, conjured up some post-apocalyptic Fallout 4 imagery in my mind. Soon we'll be walking AI borg mutant zombies. lol *Ontopic I haven't heard this album, maybe I should give it a digital spin. I like the artwork, pretty cool. I'm not too familiar with his output so I have no solid idea of what to expect. Is it dark ala UX, or MFG or Crop Circles? Or something entirely different? Because I know that Morphic Resonance did some Pleiadians or Crop Circles remixes on DAT Records in the past. So that's the association I make.
  19. Nice, yeah that's definitely a cool vibe. So for these type of basslines they're not octave jumping I suppose? (listening on phone speaker so kinda hard to tell). Since I can't hear subs on it. Or is it that they do octave jumps but just a tad bit lower as compared to let's say goa? The kick in the provided link should be no problemos. There are several like that in the psy folder. Or yeah Kick2 sounds like that pretty much out of the gate too.
