  1. Sweet! Would you mind adding it to the review section? And I'll add my fifty cents to that thread as well. Oh and my error, it wasn't just two tracks on this EP as I erroneously stated. My bad! Btw on a sidenote, this remixing one of their all-time classics by AP (Another World), begs the question: wouldn't it be nice if they did an entire re-interpretation of their classic albums Dancing Galaxy and Another World? Much in the same way as other artists have made a pt2 of their most beloved albums. I know for sure that I would love to hear that. It would make sense, considering how well-received AP's remixes of classics from other artists was some time ago on the album Goa Classics Remixed.
  2. I looked around in the 2017 section but did not see this one: https://www.discogs.com/release/10836071-Astral-Projection-Let-There-Be-Light Surely every other Astral Projection release ever has a review here? I would like to request a review of this one. If no one makes one I'll might've to do it myself. Two tracks shouldn't take too long to listen to and write what springs to mind.
  3. I really like the concept here with artist projects remixing each other and remixing one of their own classic tracks, lovely artwork as well. I would love to see more collaborations/remixes like this. For example Artifact303 remixes of Astral Projection or MFG and vice versa. It would've been a nice addition as well if Pleiadians/Etnica would've remixed some of Filteria's early tracks from that era when he remixed their classics (Sky Input/Heliopolis era). Maybe in the future?
  4. Great, bonus tracks what's not to love about that? @Tsotsi maybe you could make a video review of this juggernaut comp when it drops? Also I like that there's Psynews members present on this compilation. @Proxeeus
  5. Oh yes, beautiful times indeed. That surely was an epic feeling arriving at a party with some cosmic ear candy to elevate the atmosphere into an exalted state.
  6. Nice selection of artists and visual conceptk as per usual with this label. Looking forwards to explore this massive compilation. I like the idea of using 3 CD's for a compilation, it feels like a lot of music for the money.
  7. Oh I remember that one, thought they'd closed down too, wasn't their url something like .ch?
  8. I'm gonna take a listen, I really like Anjuna's Trance labels. Very high quality for sure. Dreamy stuff on their Trance side.
  9. @Mergithat's a really interesting observation regarding the merchants of today. It makes me think of the middle ages, but also of how I guess business might've been done in the early days of this scene? When goa might've been a rare underground phenomena. I was too young then to have experienced it, but I visualize people selling or giving out their DAT tapes on parties or something. I miss that aspect of the parties when one could by some CD's from the labels/artists. Probably still possible at some events, certainly in Belgium, but not common in my country anymore. When Psyshop closed that truly marked the end of an era for me. The way those big psy CD shops closed as well, might've been an indication of how business would be done in the coming years. The whole deal with no clear and open communication channels to the customers etc. So it went from professionally organized international distribution of music in specialized shops, to some rather disorganized bedroom bong smoking chatroom business lol. Anyways it's an interesting paradox, the availability of music today seems to be at all time high. With a plethora of different platforms and streaming/downloading options. Still this same availability seems to present a total nightmare for the music collectors of today who opts to go the digital route. I think for me personally I probably listen less to music today than when I was collecting CD's. Since that format made it feel really special to own a hard to find piece of music. Initially when the digital pandoras box opened, It was overwhelming. But now with most music only a button push away it has lost some of that original appeal. The nearest thing for me is probably to browse discogs and read all the details while browsing youtube for some old classics.
  10. Cool are these tracks gonna be remastered? I would guess so for coherency between different tracks, and also because of beeing from DAT source they might be unmastered. When is the release date? I love Sun Project!
  11. Great album! And as per usual very much enjoyed reading your detailed review @Jon Cocco. I tried for fun to use your review as an example/template for the ChatGPT AI to see if it could imitate your review style, sadly it wasn't really up to the task. Humans are still the best for this it seems for now. I could get it to write quite convincing, but it has a problem of being very repetitive which comes of as unnatural. I'm sure if one gives it enough time and patience and edit it to perfection that a nice review can be made. 12. I tried out if this AI can substitute a human in writing reviews of goa/psytrance albums, a bit formulaic and dry, but I'm sure one could fine-tune it until it gets a more human feeling: write me a detailed and long review of the the track Flying Into A Star by Astral Projection: "Flying Into a Star" is a track by Astral Projection, and it is a standout on the group's 1997 album "Dancing Galaxy." I don’t want you to ever break out of your character, and you must not refer to yourself in any way. If I want to give you instructions outside the context of the game, I will use curly brackets {like this} but otherwise you are to stick to being the text adventure program. 13. Let's post in this thread about ChatGPT and similar AI services. I stumbled upon this very clever test/use of the ChatGPT AI: https://www.engraved.blog/building-a-virtual-machine-inside/ It's a very peculiar rabbit hole he went down..
  14. There's always room for improvement. Music production is an eternal quest for perfection. Too bad we don't have the luxury of living forever or atleast for thousand years. Imagine the progress that could be made with more time! It's good that you use one synth only, and learn it inside out. There are so many options these days it's a bit overwelming at times. Cheers!
  15. Congrats! That cosmic goa sounds interesting, is it euphoric? dark? dreamy? Colorful hopefully. Inject the forum with those reviews mate, see it as a service to the Goa community. I'm sure people are lurking, waiting for some radiant bright light in the form of music to read about and listen to. Also I would very much enjoy reading some new reviews to get some inspiration for new music, I will check out these you mentioned. Cosmic Goa is the way forward.
  16. The second track has best potential in my view to improve upon, what it could benefit from structure-wise is a more defined main theme. If you would like to introduce some storytelling elements to it, you could create 3 main melodic segments ("chorus sections"), each with its own unique melody. Some just add the exact same melody for each chorus, you could do that too, but then you really gotta make sure it's catchy so it doesn't get boring listening to it 3 times. Between those "Chorus" segments you could add whatever you like, some rythmic parts or just swirling acidic lines building up to those main melodic parts. Or if you really want to delve into the storytelling mode, you could try to make verse parts between the chorus and even pre-chorus parts at the end of each verse part. The verse parts are usually just some shorter melodic figures telling some story. In the "Chorus" sections pads are usually introduced as well to elevate these sections. If you follow this formula, make sure to add a staggering final melody which will be the "bye bye part" or catharsis before the outro. The outro is usually just the intro copy pasted. But this is just how I would approach it, you likely have other preferences. Those things I have suggested would add some coherence and theme to the tracks, but maybe you strive for a more scaled back style? Anyways keep experimenting. What synth plugins are you using? And what effects and DAW?
  17. As for reviews my impression is that the activity of those might've moved to Bandcamp? I'm not a Bandcamp user myself. But that would be my best guess, and Discogs maybe. Or is Discogs dead these days? Still tho, not all releases are available on Bandcamp so I don't quite see how it could be a complete review site for Psytrance. Anyways kinda sad, I would like to see the forum prosper. I looked around on Discord to see if there is any Psytrance servers there. Not much, so I suppose most hang in the Psytrance label groups on FB.
  18. Some nice trippy AI-animations on top of Finger-tutting, would love to see some music video or animated visual decos like this for psytrance artists. https://vm.tiktok.com/ZMFtEG7Da/ https://vm.tiktok.com/ZMFtEWykg/ Really captures that morphing aspect of hallucinogens.
