So please vote for up to ten of your favourite releases in each of the following two categories: Best psy uptempo album Best psy downtempo album To vote, simply reply in this thread with ordered lists of your top 10's. When counting up the votes, your number one album will be given 10 points, your number two album will be given 9 points, and so on. The voting period will last two months, starting right now; during that time you can edit your post as many times as you like, so there's no need to post a new reply if you change your mind - we won't start counting the votes until voting is closed. We'll be counting manually so there's no fixed format for how you write your votes, but please include both the artist name (or "VA") and album name with each of your votes, and it will help us if you can aim to keep out typos. If yes, then it gets much more vast and chaotic... I'm not familiar with Near the Parenthesis, but upon listening to some stuff on YouTube I would say that including it is fine1. Beatless ambient can certainly be included if it's by an artist who's considered part of "the scene"; I guess a good rule-of-thumb is that if one of the big psytrance shops (psyshop, saiko, beatspace, goastore) sells it then it qualifies. 1 It's bloody good, too, so thanks for asking. Although it is vague, I did not include clearly-techno stuff such as Yagya. Also, some of the placements are arbitrary within a certain interval. I mean, I only bother to listen to a really really tiny percentage, mostly because when I don't have the money to buy anything, it just depresses me to listen to new music I can't buy. I don't expect anyone here will have heard most psytrance releases from the decade before casting their votes (I sure as hell haven't) so don't let that deter you - nobody is qualified by your standard, but that doesn't stop people from sharing their favourites (which is what this poll is really about).
