the only decent track (cyberbabas), all the rest are some of the best work

i've heard in the psytrack scene. my rating would have to be a 9.8, not a 10

Although hardly challenging

due to an overdose of all too familar synth sounds it is always flawless in

execution. The title '2001' is a bit ironic I guess since most tracks share

early German techno from around 1993 as influence (Sven Vath, Westbam etc.)

and that makes this release more accesible and 'listenable' than the current

flow of progressive/minimal releases since it gets nowhere ugly or annoying.

Track 7 and 8 deserve definately a mention since these pumping full on

stompers sound as if they escaped straight outta the Atmos Headcleaner CD, yep

they are that good. All-in-a all a convincing cross-over CD since S-Range

mixes a more accesible melodic sound with the monotones and rhythms we all

Review:

Full-on stuff from Sterman and co!!! I just own this one so I don't know how

they work on other people. But for me it works!!! Most songs have many acids

and nice vocals in it and song 2 is a killer track with guitars.

It's not my favorite style of psytrance, but I still like it and I like it more

than the most stuff that is comming out nowadays.

Maybe there is missing a real "goa kick", the kick is not so clear as I would

like it! But hey, thats my opinion. The bass is most of the times nice and the

other samples are also good.

I think most of the minimal haters will love this album, this is certainly NO

minimal.

Anyway runn to your shop and buy it, before it's to late!!!

Review:

Here we go....the second comp of this series is well worth the money - it took

a few listens

to fully appreciate it but I'm glad now that I bought it. The first disc is

more of the relaxing, soothing, lying on a beach type of chill-out. It mostly

falls under the words 'ambient dub'. Quite a few of the songs sound similar

and it takes a few listens to really distinguish them - track1: this reminded

me of old Higher Intelligence Agency stuff - a lush sound with bleepy melody

that repeats throughout but not a bad track. track2: this could have appeared

on something from the Future Sounds of Jazz series - jazzy chillout with good

percussion and piano. track3: a classic dub bassline with percolating synth -

one of the better ones on disc1. track4: this one has a bit of a melancholy or

bittersweet mood to it - I didn't jot down more than that. track5: this has a

nice organ sound supporting it with a bubbly melody that appears in the

middle. track6: this is a very laid back track with a sort of 1/2 tempo

breakbeat - jazzy - doesn't change or progress much and it is nothing special

but nice all the same. track7: this is another one reminding me of HIA - has a

spacy reverb'd vocoder going on in it. track8: this has a good solid dub sound

with a name perhaps inspired by Zig-Zag rollies - steel drums enter about half

way through. track9: this has a slightly harsher edged sound with some German

(?) voices floating through. Grey Area (track2) is from Australia, Space Fish

(track5) is Linus Wessel (and another guy) of Deep and (formerly?) of Tarsis,

Bloatsucher (track7) is from Sweden, and Spirit Jack (track8) is from Japan so

it truly is an international line-up even before disc2 is reached. Like I

said, disc 1 is nice and relaxing but nothing too complex or involved- the

multi-dimensional psychedelic element enters in disc2. Ooze (track1) is Seb

Mullaert of Son Kite, and Yucatan (track2)is Yann Hennaf of Bamboo Forest; the

rest are either obviously known or, for me, some unknown (like Op11). Disc2 is

a very trippy collection of music and makes the whole comp worthwhile imo.

track1: excellent - deep&thoughtful dub - the synthesizer analog to a lot of

natural sounds like wind and rain and frogs and birds - weather, jungle, etc.

Later it breaks down to just a kind of lamenting melody and then builds back

up again - full album to be released on Spirit Zone I think. track2: very

nice, a long percussive buildup to space ships taking off over Mayan temples

in the jungle - and a female glossolalia type chant that I love enters - tells

an interesting story. track3: SBK driving rhythm with morning melody that

enters later - good track. track4: Necton - very tribal haunting chanting

voices in this one (the kind that creep you out on mushrooms) - sounds include

pitchbent flutes and the same bass chords as Mindboggler had, but of course

slowed down. track5: this one I couldn't get into much - growly dirty sounds

with radio white noise and spooky strings being plucked. track6: wicked

pulsing deepspace Dr. Who dub - one of my favourites - also uses a melody with

a few flute notes. track7: Etnica tapping into the old psychedelic vibes with

an invocation from Jim Morrison starting the track off - the melody on this

remix is done first with a flute and later with a piano - this variation adds

a nice touch - has a very nightime ambient feeling of velvet colors and

candlelight - the beat is sort of like Spanish flamenco breakbeat - I like it

a lot. track8: the comp finishes with Orbient - makes me think of Kid Loco

meets Orbital - slow hip-hop beat with big drifting synth waves and warbling

voices from commercials and an airline pilot. Fave tracks; disc1: 1,3,5,8;

disc2: 1,2,3,6,7. Check it out if you can!

Well everyone knows the first album cannot be outperformed. Thats why I am

very glad simon&friends choose for a very different style. It's more like

worldmusic but still with the twisted magic in it. I think a comparision with

like a collection of tracks.

For fun I let my father listen to it and he said "Is this one and the same

artist???" So expect alot of styles and influences from all over the world in

Review:

Good follow up to Dragon Tales 1. Still on the minimal/hard side of things

(which is no surprise by looking at the names), but more varied.

First three tracks are good/great depending on my mood, all heavy, quite dark

and hypnotic. Next Diffuzzion is lighter and funkier but I really think it

lacks some punchy bass and strong kick so I don't like it a lot. Phorese is a

typical Magnetrixx track (check the reviews of the album), great, but

unfortunately it has already been released. Back in the style of the beginning

of the comp with Adrenochrome - Midizin, but better, this is a great track,

good rythm, cool synthline a little later in the track. Fuzzion tried to do

the same trick in The Outlaws than in Brown Eyed Girl, but it doesn't work as

well here, the break is a little too long I think but the song is very good

otherwise, in the Fuzzion style, quite groovy. Last track by Treibstoff is a

real surprise, the perfect morning song, a little reminiscent of some Atmos

stuff. Overall a very nice effort from Tatsu, I'll give this 8.5/10

Review:

Well, i just received that CD and the first thing i told to myself is...my god,

this kind of CD should be reviewed while Son Kite guys are playin it loud in a

party.

It's so unfair to review such a CD, alone, sit down, with a home-sound-system.

Anyway !

Sorry to kill the suspens : this CD is aboslutely better than the first one.

The production is amazing...Son Kite have one hell of a studio and you can be

sure they

know how to use it. Sounds turning around your head, solid bass, deep kick, EQ

FX.

I like listening this album from beginning to end and not tracks

alone...because the

atmopshear just builds and builds. But if i had to name the higlight of the CD

it would be

without any doubt "HI-FI STOMP SESSION". The name says it all. An especially

good mention

for the packaging which is very good with an interesting booklet inside.

8/10

1-very good. seems GMS remix everything they hear

2-should have been called Reload remix2...is it a joke ? ayway its a very

danceable track.

3-this one is very good, typical GMS overtwisted style. only one remark: they

should have put less RajaRam gossip within.

4-well, good one

5-funny one, well engineered...it must be listened to because its hard to

imagine what's some cowboy-psytrance

6-To the limit of cheese...but efficient...and twisted.

7-awesome track with all the imagination and style of LB. poerful & smooth.

8-Serge delivers us a masterpiece of psy-modern-TE-like-trance

9-grooaaaaarrhh what a track !! It will steal your soul. Now Deedrah knows how

to make minimal crazyness.

Definitely THE compil of the year so far !

folks, this is another of those rare true Psy-DnB breeds as the tracks are

filled with spacey 303 sounds (acidddd...) backed up by strong and speedy DnB

Review:

Pure MDMA 2 starts out with a new artist called Pixel. I haven't heard

anything from him before, but he sure as hell knows how to make some

powerfull noise! Very dark scary thing, with no melody at all! Not full on,

but not calm either... It reminds me a little of PsySex! Average track Track

2... Typical GMS style... Not much to say here! Reminds me of the GMS vs.

Systembusters album (That's a good thing)! For me it works very well, but

certanly not for all... - That's the problem with GMS =)Track 3 is a heavy

track. The same (very cool ) beat through the hole thing! There is also a

spooky melody that sets in from time to time! - A truly floorstomper! Track

4 starts out very monotone, with a kickdrum that goes on and on and on, with

a few effects on. After a while some percussion shows up, then a hi-hat, and

soon we are on the dancefloor ... This is one of those tracks that never

stops building up. After some time a break tunes up, deletes everything but

the kickdrum, and we can start all over again. - Nothing really special, but

a descent track! We already know track 5, hmmm... i wonder why... Maybe

because it's so DAMN GOOD! This track is really one of my all time

favourites! Ever since i git the Deedrah "Far And Away" EP, i've had

troubles with getting this of my stereo! You can hear the GMS effects all

the time, and even if it's not so far away(!) from the original, it still

blows! Track 6 is a GMS sideproject with Celli. It starts out really scary,

with dark sounds, and then goes over to a quite deep kickdrum with a nice

hihat! Even if it's not that fast, it's still very full on, due to that

hihat which point out the dancerythm for you, and when the amazing melody

comes in, you'll go crazy! Again a very good track! Future Prophecy delivers

a track with very nice effects everywhere! There's melodies everywhere, but

they are hidden pretty well, and they are very psychedelic... Reminds me of

GMS (DUH) But it's a bit more variated. After 5 minuttes this evil track

throws a "head-melody" that works very well! And when it ends there is a

COOL sample: "So... what you're saying is: This guy is a total wanker?!" The

track is very relaxed and dark during the whole playtime, and those laughing

children gives me the creeps.... This is propably what i connect to "Evil

psy". Track 8 is a (as the name suggests) a very funky tune, with very nice

work on the percussion. The catchy acid lines is almost shouting at you to

dance like James Brown, so you'd better do so... Or else this track will be

pointless =) Track 9 starts out with like when you are searching on a radio

or something. Then comes an almost housey 4/4 beat and some nice effects now

and then. Again we have one of the "bad" ones as a decent track! Last track

is from Etnica and it's propably the best track on the comp. A pretty slow

and VERY trippy tune from the mad italians. So oldschool, with

Pleiadians-like melodies all over. Some will call this repetitive, but i

just see it as a way to enjoy the madness a little longer! All in all a VERY

pleasant surprise from MDMA... I did not know they made this kind of music,

and i will for sure go look for more music from them! Best tracks: 5,6,7 and

10. And there are NO bad tracks! - 9/10

Ok Seb Taylor gives us something totally new.

A long awaited album.. First track starts of kinda groovy

Just warming it up for us... The second track goes more into it.. with dark

subtle melodies building the groove slowly..and the he drops that kickdrum..

it just grooves along totally...I started this review with describing this

album. I'm not gonna spoil it. Buy it /// Or hear previews.. I definatly

think this is such a drastic change from Shakta's style.. A fucking truly

talented artist

Review:

The label of the year, no doubt, comes back with its second compilation. Not an

easy job they have here after releasing two of the best artists' albums of the

year, they've set themselves a very high standard. They make it on one aspect,

fail a bit on another. All the tracks here are great dancefloor material, it's

a groovy CD, with great percussion work, very powerful and with great sound

and production.

P-Woland, the next promise from the DS gang opens with a hypnotizing airy slow

tribal piece, which is definitely one of my favorites here and leaves me with

a taste for more from this guy. Then it's the Kites themselves. Air Play gives

the usual irresistible Son Kite percussion mayhem in that huge crisp clear

sound of theirs, for 6.5 minutes. Than it opens up into a melodic clubby build

up, which is beautiful but somehow losses it. Vibrasphere hits hard next with

Out of My Systems (T3) that shows their harder side, though those typical

dubby sequences are still here. A killer. Qlap's Puck el Pisto (from the

latest Qlap vinyl on DS) starts the heavier part here, no-nonsense in yer face

kick and bass, with powerful drive and great grooves. Be warned- this can make

a porridge of your brain! Tegma hits next with the great X-Calibur (T5), an

already established raw power dancefloor scorcher. Go for the ride- simple and

great. Then Ticon ease up a bit with a solid Ticonish track that hits the

mark, but somehow fails to excite me. Here also I think the compilation looses

the story line and gets lost a bit. After that, 12 Moons will surprise those

waiting for his known morningish transient tunes. Bad Pets (T7) is a hard

tech-trancey track, totally psychotic with an on-the-edge feel and qute dark

in atmosphere. Excellent stuff. Bigwigs follow with a totally groovy piece

with the Polish weirdness factor working hard- the happy jumpy kind of weird-

beautiful morning sounds. Etnoscope caught my ear with the recent Dus Fug 12",

these guys manufacture total tribal madness, Flosiploskan is no exception,

fast tribal drumming full of surprises and a great energetic and happy ending

to this CD.

Bottom Line: This is a collection of 9 blasts for the dancefloor, all will work

wonderfully, no doubt. A definite must for every DJ. As a compilation it

somehow looses the story on the way. Still it's one of the best compilations

of 2001.

Favorites: 1(!), 3, 4, 5(!), 7(!), 9.

true metamorphose when compared to Equator. The Italians apparantly discovered

the scandinavian minimal sound and they took no prisoners here so say goodbye

to melodies and welcome some heavy funkin' rythms. In the first 6 trax the

Etnica train is at full steam and the biggest surprise must be that everything

sounds totally linear and unadventurous, except for the 1st track which sounds

like Daft Punk doing minimal, the other trax are an unoriginal blend between

Review:

Minimal except some tracks. The first is an extract of Nitrox

[Etnica"Technoshit"] : a techno track with a good voice ("You fucking piece of

filth... When the fuck are you gonna get sick of that lousy technoshit?") :

this track is OK?[Vibrasphere"echoPlantation"] : a good track (!!) quite

entrancing. [ChiAD"ZerroBarrier"] : the most melodic track of this GoaHead,

and one of the best! ?[Paste"PlayOff"] : too empty, nothing interesting : the

worst track of the compil. [Psychonaut"Voodoochild"] : interesting track with

nice guitars. [PlanetBEN"Repara?"] : a little boring in spite of a good

passage between 4.30mn and 5.07mn, but it's too empty.

[ElectronWave"NeuronTranceiver"] : awesome track!! maybe the best, not really

minimal, and full on effects and dark sounds. [Zerotonine"MedusasBreath] quite

boring. [DubConnected"Something?"] : i don't know what it is, and i don't give

a toss?Then CD2 : it begins with a nice track [sonKite"Driveshaft"] : good

rhythm, good percussions, good basslines. [MOS"Comunique"] : disappointing. I

have excepted better from MOS. [DragonMaster"Cyclone(remix)"] : very good

track, quite minimal, with a lot of effects, nice dark sounds, impressive

basslines (!!) [Feuerhake"glowingNights"] : quite melodic but quite boring.

[intactInstinct"Achtungs?"] : average. [bandit"Yash"] : average.

[MarcoMinichelli"Tekktra"] : average. [TaraPutra"FabriqueIntergalactique"] :

good track, with some good sounds and melodies. [HaraGobi"CoconutWalla"] :

????? ?So my favorites are "ZerroBarrier" , "NeuronTranceiver", "Driveshaft",

but this Goa head is maybe too minimal for me; I give this 4.5/10. Buy it, and

play it loud!, if you like minimal. Otherwise, compilation to avoid

Review:

Here we have the 3d release of the label of the Battle Buddhas, and once again

it's a release that is not for everyone... It sounds really industrial, even

more then Schlabbaduerst 001 and it is véry psychedelic!! (As it should be)!!

Let's start the review: Song 1 & 2 are completely in the same style. It are

dark night-songs with haunting mettalic sounds and they are pretty fast.

(143-145

BPM) Both songs were made by or with Marchaos, and I must say that this guy is

a new talent of the Swedish forest-sound... The 3d song is by the Battle

Buddhas and is one of the best songs on the cd, it sounds like Tim Schuldt

mixed with the Battle buddha-style!! Really nice!! Number 4 is once again by

Marchaos and it sounds even more industrial and evil then number 1 & 2...

probably because of the use of horror-samples of laughing people... I don't

like the 5th song (altough i liked their song on Schlab 001). It starts ok,

but it becomes one big chaos of sounds at the end... The Church of the New Age

Hippie Disco Shit-track is more hypnotic and "warmer" as the other tracks

altough there are still many typical forest-sounds in it! The 7th song

continues the madness of number 1-4 in the typical groovy, driving and

stomping night-style... The 8th song is a total

different story... It's a blissfull morning track with many warm sounds and

strange melodies... This must be my favourite track on the CD (with nr1,2&3)!

For the ones who have Schlab 002, the track is the same style! The last track

is much slower and reminds me véry much of Demonoizer, so not very original.

But all together it's once again a quality release with as favourites:

1,2,3,4,7&8!! And it gets an 8,5/10 for that! Bom Shankar

Review:

GOOD album ! Varying between melodic, soft & psychedelic sounds, that kind of

stuff Chi-ad made us discover along the years ... I first advise you that most

of this Tracks (except Tracks 2&7) have already been released (in 1998 for

most of them) , but most of them are pretty hard to find now ... that's why

this album was built and I can say you that here you have a good overview of

Chi-ad stuff ! I would say a kind of "best of", waiting for his incoming new

album :-)

Track 1 starts with a very soft melody & a strange background, then snares ...

and the heavy kick & bassline start with these music lines already installed

in your head ... then a psychedelic melody increases the tempo, maybe it could

have gone in another way to be even better at 4'00", dunno ... but the whole

Track is pretty nice.

Track 2 is the first unreleased one : very fast & psychedelic, maybe not enough

various anyway ...

Track 3 is really good ... sometimes we hear influences from the famous "Eye Am

The I" in the melody ... you'll love it if you like this Track (and who

doesn't like "Eye Am The I" ?). it starts with a not too fast beat, and a slow

melody builds up the atmosphere needed by Dave Young to launch his psychedelic

sounds ... the melody never goes fast, but is pretty awesome ! One of my

favourites Tracks here (maybe the best, didn't know it before). Knows how to

combine intelligent melodies with a psychedelic background and a not too

regular rhythm (I mean there are some breaks to breath ;-))

Track 4 ... should I really present it ? If you don't have it and don't buy

this album, you're missing something ! Most of the people agree to say it's

the best Track from Chi-ad. But I thin I should present it anyway, as it has

been remastered ! It starts with an hypnotic bassline & very fast snares, and

takes its time to reach the "explosion" : first, at 2'16", the main melody

quietly presents itself to your ears that you already say "don't stop it !"

Then a long changing high-pitched note breaks it, and all the background

becomes very psychedelic ... then you say "something is preparing" and can't

wait to hear it ... 4'55" ? 4'57" ? 5'04" Dave is playing with your nerves :-)

At 5'35" all stops ... well actually it doesn't stop, it seems like the melody

is "waiting" ... and explodes at 6'11", the faster part of the Track. maybe

the Track stops a little too suddenly anyway, but that doesn't make it bad :-)

Track 5 starts with a soft voice then a heavy kick ... the melody is still

hypnotic and pretty simple, not too make it the main part of the Track, but to

give more importance to what happens around it, in background ... Chi-ad is

one of those artists who use background sounds more than it is usually used

... anyway, I don't like this Track that much cause I don't like the variation

of tone of entire melodies in a Track ... and there is one many tone

variations along this one ... I also think the voice is a little too

repetitive ... but that's my opinion. Anyway, the quick transition at 8'06" is

that kind of transitions that made me love psytrance music :-)

Track 6 sounds less old-school, and this time the effects alone start the

Track. The bassline following at 0'58" is really good. That's the kind of

rhythm you have to wake up with to be on top form ;-) A more psychedelic

transition appears at 3'13" , with the same effects that started the Track.

The melody breaks at 5'01", then is even more psychedelic at 5'14", to break

again at 5'56".

Track 7, the second unreleased one, quietly starts with kinda tribal drums and

hypnotic background effects. This Track represents Dave's new style according

to the cover, so prepare yourself to that kind of sound in his incoming new

album. A good bassline starts at 2'44" while all the previous effect stop and

new ones appear with snares. All stays fast but relatively calm. New tribal

influences appear at 3'52" with a discrete melody that doesn't break the

bassline. The melody continues alone at 5'41", with very fast snares appearing

at 6'08". The bassline & kick continue at 6'36", but the scale variations

starting at 7'30" make it not as good as this Track could have been for me :-(

Anyway, that's a pretty good one, particularly if you don't hate scales

variations as much as I do.

Track 8 is still melodic & psychedelic, but more hypnotic than the other ones.

The instrument used for the main melody made me think to a "Faithless" Track

named "Salva Mea" I listened to ages ago, that started with a violin and used

this futuristic instrument in the main melody :-)

Overall a good example of how we can make a kind of "compilation" with a single

artist, not like things like Astral Projection's "In The Mix" for example, by

putting rare and good Tracks, coming from compilations, without mixing them !

Good point to new Out Of Orion label to have decided to release such an album !

By the way, this same label is looking for some new music acts (I'll speak

them about the "Tracks Contest" thing), so maybe some people could be

interested in mailing them at outoforion@inwind.it :-)

Review:

I've never really been into the minimal, percussive and hypnotic style of Son

Kite. I have, however, always liked my chill-out/ambient served minimal with

emphasis on the space between the sounds. So when I learned that Ooze is

actually a synonym for Swedish producer and member of Son Kite Sebastian

Mullaert, I ordered this without hesitation (and pre-listening), expecting a

minimal chill-out/ambient experience. I was surprised though (positively of

course), as this doesn't seem to bear any of the traits of minimal psytrance

(or minimal ambient for all it matters) at all. This follows the same path as

Ciarian Walsh took on his last album "Blunt Instruments" with that

characteristic dreamy atmosphere. Even though I enjoyed "Blunt Instruments" a

lot, I enjoy this more as "Where The Fields Never Ends" is slower and somehow

a more ambient (and I am one for ambient) album. It's dominated by slow

breakbeats, dubby basslines, spaced out blips and blops and luscious chords

and melodies, and it still contain those indispensable psychedelic twists. The

recipe is fairly simple, but the music isn't! I'm having a really hard time

figuring out which track is my favourite. All tracks are very well put

together, but "What's Up" and "Trying Outwards" are just two pieces of

incredibly beautiful chill-out music. The album in its entirety is a blissful

journey, and it has immediately become one of my favourite chill-out albums of

all time. As Spirit Zone say on their website this album "...'oozes' into the

ear, calming neural receptors and soothing the soul." So true! Plurries

Review:

Well this is perhaps the best downtempo/ambient release i've got. Very spacy

soaring atmospheric soundscapes changing and morphing into breakbeats. This

is one very aumbiant and futuristic release, all tracks flow seamlessly into

eachother...the whole album taken togather as one dose. Listen and "dissolve

into a sea of energy" . This is simply a very unique album in my collection.

Constently changing and flowing. 1long tour through an 4-dimentional alien

utopia, right next door to ourself ... 10/10

quickly, i am a lover of the progressive sound, but this comes nowhere close

to the spiral trax stuff. It does have good base lines, but the rythems and

cymbals over the top dont make me want to dance enough. I would disagree

strongly with Gizmo above, and say that it sounds nothing like Necton. I love

necton but found this boaring not because it is minimal as i like minimal, but

it just does not flow. It does have potential and i think that POTs will be

there. "Candy from the Strang side" start very well but just becomes dull, and

lacks a decent groove. disapointing 4/10.

craziness and technoic element. Best trax IMHO are 1,4,9,11,12! I love how

Review:

First full length compilation from Avatar records, packed with some really nice

flight tunes. Opens with the deep Cave of Medusa by Cosmosis, begins with a

nice deep trance vibe, and in the middle kicks of with a psychedelic melody

which will keep you flying. Next track is more dark to the sound, chromium

dioxide is more progressive and melodic, steady beat with nice bassline. RL

brings us an effect packed track, really sharp melody emerging in the end. Toi

Doi with the massive Replicant, quite progressive with a massive melody. This

one is one of the better tracks. Next track will keep on rockin', ManMadeMan

gives us the psychedelic guitar vibe which just kicks major booty, probably

the best track on this compilation. Parasense with Kopeika, is another

effectful track, steady beat, this one is a little too repetitive. Gorlation

Corporation with a really twisted track, effectful melodies, nice psychedelic

noises in the background. Sanghi Jetti, is a slow mover, Avatar brings us a

melodic chiller. The flight ends with a morning inspired track, nice bassline,

wicked effects, and ass kickin' melodies, Voodoo people with Arrival is a

progressive masterpiece. This compilation is packed with lot's of different

tracks, bringing a variations which sustains some interest, though it could

have been just a little better. 8/10

I don't know what program changed, but I know this could have been called

"Talamasca & friends", or "Talamasca vs Nomad" as well...eheheh

The first track is just cool. It's psychedelic enough, and that's what saves

it. The production is good, but the music is repetitive (and strangely we have

the very same samples as in every Absolum track).

The second is far more powerful. Typical Talamasca rolling bassline and psy

noises going happily into your ears! Then the track looks more like a GMS one

with all those popping sounds. The track is very good and will make you jump

on a dancefloor.

The third track is a monument: very simple, but super-powered !!! first a few

samples & voices and...COME ON !!! Then THE bassline from outer space ™.

With a big sound system it is amazing ! Then there is a totally

distorted-silly-killer-noisy-music to get you uplifted. Then we have some

different phases in which Talamasca varies some themes of psychedelia...and it

restarts again at the end to make you crazy. Wow awesome! More more !!

The fourth track is also good as it's casual, with the same style as in Day One

(on the latest 3D vision EP). The music is ok, always with a very good sewing

up. Another form of funky-psytrance ? Anyway Nomad gets better.

The fifth track is another killer. It's casual at the begining, it sounds like

an usual Spacecat track, it even sounds like Deep Rising, but after a break,

it's totally different and introduces an hypnotyzing music that fits over the

rest of the song. It's really..well..Masterful. Effect granteed on a

dancefloor !! Anyway it reminds me of another older track (?) (can someone

remind me which one ?). It would be cool to see Avi play in some parties in

Paris again as he may compose other tunes like this one with Lestat

The sixth track is another delirium by Lestat & Mael. There are lots of samples

over the psycedelic music & distorsions everywhere, which gets into your ears

immediately and blows your head off (bOoô, like this...). The end of the track

is very funny (but it reminds me of an older track again, which one plz?).

Great.

The seventh track is really a tribute to the madmen from Haifa as the original

theme is still present and unchanged... Mael & Lestat just added lots of "End

of Days" samples. The track becomes less various than the original, then comes

the break...Wow what break ! The track is now a total 3DV production except

from the "You hear me - you psycho" sample : a Nordlead spits a violent

powerful music. It ends on the original theme. My point of view is that the

Infecteds'Psycho-remix2 is better than this one, but I can't deny this french

remix is especially shaped for the dancefloor.

The eighth track shows a calmer Lestat. The track is intelligent and quite

happy. The style is ok, the violent sounds are replaced by uplifting trippy

melodies here and there. Great.

The ninth track is a dub track by Nomad. A very good choice in the sounds &

samples again. The effects are just in the good place. Keep going.

Overall ? Just buy ! The quality of the music is here, as well as the quality

of the production/mastering. This is really not usual nowadays and deserved to

be said. I am amazed. Well done 3DVision.

This is evidence that true psytrance can still rule! 9/10 for Psylovers.

Review:

Once I saw that Tsunami Productions was about to release a new album

from a new, unknown artist, I just had to check it out considering all

the great releases from that label lately. This is typical, classical

Goa in the genre of Astral Projection, sometimes it even sounds almost

like certain melodies was ripped of their material. Still, this is high

quality trance, which is the music I first fell in love with. What

really struck me is the age of the composer, only 18 years of age(!) I

won't dare to imagine what he will be able to create in a few years from

now... This is a very nice debut from a younger lad from Sweden. From

the spectrum of Goa, psy, heading towards some more commercial liked

tracks. A good use of mixed filters blending together, just as it

should. Track number 3 "Neutralization Of Mind", is my favourite.

Reminds me alot of Pleiadians, great stuff! The weakness of "Samples

From A Virtual Life" is as mentioned earlier, the non-innovative

melodies, maybe Xervana has looked too much on other artists work? The

Strength is the quality of the use of sounds and melodies and are all

very well composed. If you like isratrance then you should definately

take a look at this album. If not, don't. I, myself still love

isratrance so the choice of wether to buy this one or not was not too

hard (especially nowadays

when it seemes like almost everyone is going for the more monotonish,

technoish, in my opinion kind of boring trance). For being only 18 years

of age this is far better then Astral Projection (or anyone else for

that matter). I can't imagine that anyone has succeded in producing such

quality trance at that age. But still one has to bare in mind that

Astral and such was pioneers in the genre and so it took some years for

them to develope the Astralsound we are so familiar with today. Nowadays

they are copied by many and that's not so hard when you're able to refer

to thoose materials which has already been released.

But if Xervana continues releasing tracks and tries to go on his own

path of style, then I'm sure we will experience some extraordinary music

from him in the future, the quality is already here! 7/10.

Review:

This album is absolutely fantastic, and I just can't stop listening to it. Both

tracks from this awesome Dragonfly release just kill on the dancefloor, and

blow the senses. High-energy tracks done with class and style -- VERY high

quality that any audiophile can appreciate. Final Frontier has some really

aggressive/darker sounds, but somehow stays very smooth and melodic. It's just

really catchy, well produced, and pounds. Enough said, 9.5/10. As for Discover

[Remix], it's a little bit darker, but carries the same BPM as side A. It's so

hard to describe specific sounds in this track, but nothing offended me and I

enjoy all the effects/sounds used in this EP. Very unique: not your typical

303 pumping out the "melodies". Dark and twisted melodies surface around 2:55,

which uses a phasor/photon sounding effect, and it's very cool. Overall, great

track as well 9/10. The thing I like most about these tracks is they're not

overly complicated, and there never seems to be too few or too many layers of

sound... just right. This is a great release, and I'll won_t hesitate to throw

either of these tracks in a set to get the dancefloor moving! Awesome!

repetitive and kind of simple trance....basic percussion,

and only one or two melodies up front...not deeply layered. I'm not against

simpler trance, for instance I enjoyed the MOVERS&GROOVERS on TIP very much

but this is not nearly as compelling.

It sounds like the kind of stuff that house/club-trance

DJ John Digweed would spin. It's not bad, but it doesn't

dig deep into my mind or energize my body either. It's a good soundtrack for

having sex with girls who aren't into psytrance. very accessable! 6/10

there are some of the tracks have fantastic, well thought-out progressions of

Review:

The plastic men are coming! Yes! This is what I like my trance to sound

like. From Danish label Creamcrop comes a very interesting - and limited -

debut album-release from psy-masters Thomas Larsen and Jeffrey D. Jensen

(Orichalcum, etc.). This is a cool mix of different styles, which creates a

very unique sound. From full-on mayhem to terror-techno to

dance-till-you-drop psy-killers, this blend of fine tunes of various styles

suits my ears, and my bid says that FF stands for "F*cking Fantastic".. Or

Fat Fingers?.. Or Fierce Fishtank?. Or perhaps Freaky Fluffers.?! I dunno,

but what I do know is that there are only 1000 copies pressed of this fine

album - so go get this right now! All tracks are good, but so far my fav'e

are the brilliant opener Balloonies (#1), the overwhelming Fluff Factory

(#3), the hectic banging Ejection 2001 Edit (#5) and of course the stomping

anthem Last Moon (#8).The only flaw I can think of, is that sometimes this

tends to get just a little bit too monotonous, but hey - it's Creamcrop so I

guess that's what you can expect. Go get your Fat Fingers on this when

there's still time! 8.5/10

Review:

Cosmopolite 2 is compiled by Dj Bog (Visual Paradox).

Nice Opening with a soft melodic psytrance tune by the duo team Dj Bog/Perplex.

An honest groovier progressive production comes with Contact, nothing

extraordinary inside it.

Next one is a new young (16 years old) israelian band Dooper Doopler ( Nave

Elia, Roy Riback & Maor Haddad ) with their first promising morning proggy

track, some few old techno synths playing way are incorporated around 1:45 the

begining (like the old techno-Rave dutch band from late 80?s Spectrum with

their track Brazil), an artist to look after.

Bitmonx goes on the Progressive way, with some soft percus in his recognizable

style, probably a bit better than the previous Bitmow?s stuffs i?ve heard, but

still finds his stuff not enough tasty.

Nasa ? Daylight has a good atmospheric intro nevertheless don?t succeed in

taking off after with a flat proggy tune.

The serious things arrive from now up to the end of the cd with the morning

part of Cosmopolite.

Nothing more to say than it?s just 4 beautifull morning productions, very

fluffy, gliding, cosmic & melodic.

So respect to Herbal Essences & Matenda, Sesto Sento (with Intergalactic) makes

It again.

Mention to the new artits Nissimyani (Nissim Mohadav & Yan Azuolay ) for their

first release Human B.

Review:

From the Iboga HQ comes a triumphant CD that

fortunately takes their kick drums into 2001 and takes

the word "bored" out of their reviews. This is an

amazing collection of delicious, groovy, funky,

minimal and cool tracks cooked with precise samples

and elegant effects. Perfect to warm up every party or

to start a new day with style. The CD is really

enjoyable from beginning to end because Martin

(Audiopile) and Rene really know how to keep the

balance in the edge. My favourite tracks are the

powerful remix of Brain Drain and the alien sounding

Error. 9/10
