That's a very nice ep from the very good psychopod (kox box). Re Vision and

Stop the carnage are the most wicked tracks. Very complicated and hard to

listen sound, some of them scratch your ear but not necessarily bad. Universal

mind and Out of your mind are fantastic!! Mind-blowing sound and nice light

(released 1997) and it will not saw you his age. 8/10

Review:

This is the second album from MFG, another strong representant of Israeli

Trance with AP. This album is better, more mature, more underground than their

previous one. Electric Bubbles is the only track that I don't really like.

It's really dark with only a strong bass line. The other tracks are all good,

in different styles. My favorites are the two last tracks : Peaceful

Relaxation and New Kind of World, which has a wonderful melody, very deep. 8/10

Review:

A classic release from FR...This is one of their most known...It's psychedelic

trance at it's best...When I say psychedelic

i mean on sound like this one...Full of squeky sounds and acidish

atmosphere;))...Well this CD takes off with "Breathe"

which is very nice dreamy song...and one of my favourites here...Next is

"Pyramid"...well do I need to say anything

else about this one? I think not...) 3rd track here is "Kozmotron (1 And

2)"...it has litle more bass and it's kinda harder,

but it has melodies too...After that is "Synthetic Flesh" but let's go straight

to "Skinflint"...it's a song that could be released

even today...it sounds like it's relased nowdays from some isra-alien...))

GREAT track.........."VTOL." is a fast track with

nice melodies and it's pretty easy to listen...(it remainds me on some

Hallucinogen's work)...Next one, "Pleiadian Landing"

is pretty nice too...it sounds really oldschool (like whole album..)) and has

some really (for me) atmospheric GOA samples.

And there are just two tracks left..."Elektron Blender" and "Chug"...while

"Chug" is litle slower tune..."Elektron Blender" is

great song...full of psychedelic melodies...and releaxed strings....with great

samples...complete full on track...

Conclusion, if you're sick of minimal sound of 2000nd then try to find this

CD...it's great psychedelic trance like we used to

like...and it's pretty refreshing to play it once in a while...Grade: 10/10...

Review:

This is different from the other album by these guys. It isn't that insane

in the same way as "The growly family" but it's still very good and very

psychedelic!!! Heavy, twisted sounds in many layers is very common here. The

tempo is also very fast on most tracks. Tracks 2,3 are sooo wicked.. you'll

get crazy when you hear this, especially "jaws" is amazing.. you can't

sit still to this track! #4 slows down the tempo but only for 10 minutes,

because next three tracks are mean and rough just like the two before. "Red

light" is so damn good!!!, just listen to it and feel the craziness. "La

raca" pulls down the tempo and finishes off the album. As I said before it's

different to "the growly family".. it's very psychedelic and it's really

good for the dancefloor. Both albums are good in their own way so I give

this the same rating as I did for the other one. 7.5/10.

It's Not a bad CD but I'm sure Chi-ad. can do better!!! The songs from Chi-ad.

who are on compilations (like celestial, Eye Am The I, Exit Eternity, Astral

Warrior Rmx) and not on his own CD's are better than the stuff on this CD!!

Ok, most of those songs are pretty good but there are no killers on it!! Best

songs are: 1,3,5,6,7

Specially song 1 is ok... It has ancient Indian Sounds in it and he used it

very well in that song!!! It's also a pitty that there's not the Remix of

Astral Warrior on the CD because that song is much better like the original!!

slightly changed his style in this album, but after 5 listens you'll see

that you will also LOVE this album if you loved the first one :-) Best Tracks

Yes, I really like this oldschool-styled album! It's coming from a - for me

unknown - swede, J Granlund.

Full-on stompers with bouncy basses and twisted melodies.

Maybe the production isn't the best - the studio seems like it would need to

get extended,

because many of the tracks sound too alike. But, this is definately something

worth checking out.

This polish group which is now no longer produced some high quality music during their tenure most notably the classic goa album Part Seconde (which actually came after this one). It's a project that was all over the map electronically, including this their debut. There are plenty of nature sounds that really put you right into pools of water with buzzing insects. With that in mind the music itself is relaxing and smooth exploring a lot of corners. Sometimes it's highly melodic and sometimes it's creative noodling mixing environmental sounds with a futuristic atmosphere. Having said that it's not the best downtempo music I've heard by far and as such I wouldn't label it a classic. Enjoyable.

Sometimes you are just in the mood for some thumping, screaming old school goa trance. Can't believe I had to create a review for this (you know how f*cking lazy I am), but it gave me the opportunity to share how good this is. And it is so damn good. It's a mix CD and I don't know about you, but usually I only like mix Cd's in the car. This one hit me in the right spot though. There are a couple of outstanding goa tracks here and it is a banging good time.

Review:

This was released in summer 1997 and that really seems like a long time ago

now......The first track is okay, but relies on strange sounds a little too

much, and I think that is the theme for much of this album. Much of the stuff

here is just trippiness without masses of musical structure or melody. High

points include the GMS track which is pretty cool, there is a killer

"wakawakawaka" pulsing right through it all which is exceedingly trancey.

It's also a little spooky. Germinating Seeds of Doda contribute a

pseudo-psychedelic breakbeat track, not spectacular though. Orichalcum's

track is again heavily reliant on weird noises, and also quite

breakbeaty...not very good though. The Process track is one of the best here,

really well driven by the funky bass line, again there are plenty of strange

noises, but lo and behold! Something resembling a melody in here

somewhere!!!!! The build up to the massive crescendo is good, and when it

opens itself fully its a bit of a killer track. Probably the best was saved

till last though - Sandman's Highway 101 is a retro classic, with some really

nice changes of pace and theme. So, a bit of a mixed bag with maybe 3 good

tracks and the rest ranging from crap to a mediocre. It has a very nice 3D

cover though. 5/10

it's x-dream and it's good. you can trust theses guys.. they released three

albums and all three have been excellent. these

guys are magicians behind their equipment. this album may not be just as

good as 'radio' or 'trip to trancesylvania' but

that doesn't say much because those two albums are just perfect. this comes

really close to perfection too ..

i can't praise these guys enough.. they're just TOO good!! noone can even

come close to the sounds they create. just listen

Review:

This compilation was compiled to fit the American market and to introduce the

Psychedelic Trance scene to the Americans. Therefore, many of these tracks are

standard Goatrance tracks - melodic, stomping and great on the dancefloor. The

compilation is pretty average, but there are a few nice tracks as well...

"Kabalah" by Astral Projection, Simon Posford's famous horror tune "Gamma

Goblins" and The Infinity Project's alienated party tune "Hyperspaced" from

their album "Feeling Weird". The other tracks are rather boring and the MWNN

track is pure crap. Altogether, an average compilation.

To further drive home the point that not everything released in 1997 was gold comes the debut of Emiliano Solazzi Griminger. His second album Face Adaptor was appealing to me in a I don't know why I like this, but I do kind of way. With a heavy techno influence this has a raw and electric feel. With that description it should be appealing in a cold and dark way, but something is missing. There are melodies of course, but they sound abrasive rather than melodic. Marakesh 2000 isn't bad and with it's power and symphonic layers reminds me a little of a Kris Kylven production. He goes a little heavy on the sample usage in Van Spooker (even though I like the sample) and then annoys the crap out of me with a looped vocal tacet on Volvoker. For one final insult with the last track he adds some more music after an extended silence. I hate that. Ask me if it made any f*cking difference with the overlook of this album.

Just wanted to pop in and say a few words about this. Certainly there have been worse goa trance compilations than this, but is that the bar we're setting for ourselves? Don't know about you, but ain't nobody got time for mediocre muisc, much less a whole damn album of it. Most of this is filler without anything remarkable. No big layers, no driving beats, no total sound immersion... Suppose a couple of tracks can be listened all the way through, but again...low bar.

For a year that is one of the greatest as far as goa trance is concerned nobody's putting this in the hall of fame.

Man this one swung for the fences and boy did it connect!

This is old school goa trance with wonderful storytelling. Ripping 303s and convoluted melodies hearken back to the good old days. There are just so many twists and turns. Even the tracks that perhaps didn't begin as well turned up the heat near the end. Now it's not without its blemishes of course. Jesus Krist wasn't very interesting, but what it lacked in detail it sure made up for in speed. The closer (made by the same duo) slowed things down to progressive tempo and didn't fit with the vibe of the rest of the album.

But for the most part the CD is full of great tracks that we haven't beaten to death.

of my favorites (probably BECAUSE it was one of my first experiences --

doesn't that tend to be the case? [Probably why people stay hung up on Astral

Projection for so long]). One of the best parts about this album, besides

having a truly distinctive, acidic, full-on sound rich in complex and

spiralling melodies and rhythms, is that it's based on the concept described

above, that of a train travelling to different cities based on color. The idea

of an album based on a concept such as this is novel, and has yet to be

explored by other bands who are more interested in setting up a

climax-oriented, dancefloor arrangement, or a simple up/down-tempo arrangement

of songs. Despite having been released on Hypnotic, this album really is a

treat (but their crap label could've been suicide for them, because I haven't

seen or heard a peep from these guys since '98). The first (second, really,

after the intro) track, CYANid is the standout track. The samples on the

latter half of the album are all very scientific and interesting (worm holes,

space-time, etc.). I find it hard to be truly objective about the album, so

I'm going to be biased and give it a 9/10.

Sigh. You're both right. In my search for the perfect acid compilation I realize that like goa, you have to kiss a lot of frogs before you find your prince Tantrance. So far this one has had the most oomph for which I search. The opener grabs your attention right away and Donut Junkie's Blue is a monster. Just wish it wasn't so short. Glockwork 2 has some nice 303 snap and bite, but the sound is a little uneven. Acidchild is groovy, but after that...man some slim pickings. It's like the album f*cking fell off a cliff. I mean Signal 1 is a headache inducing speed freak. And what would an acid compilation be without something completely ridiculous shoved in at the end?

So when I say this one is the best I've heard so far I think it means that it's less packed with annoying, go nowhere, linear, zero creativity crap. So that's a win.

Right?

hmm what can i say?

some tunes are pretty cool still

i got this despite everybody bashing it like fuck and guess what? i like it!

i liked psygone many years ago and few others in this forum dug it too .. i was diggin his sound and i probably will soon that i speak of it . got the chance to chat with him online somewhere was curious about what gear he had because sounds were pretty cool and still are that i think of it now lol

His optimistique album was different and some peeps were callin it cheesy or so lol

its not like this is psychic deli records or many other big names in the scene but this goa trance is pretty ok you know?...

considering its age ... 19 years old ... i'd consider this a classic by now.

Worth checkin it out if you like 90's sounds , dance music and so on , despite making music i also like listening to some old shit , sometimes its inspiring , sometimes not... da fuck knows.

the coverart ?

honestly dont give a toss about this coverart , theres a microphone symbol probably from windows 95/98 looooooollllll and some hypnotic houdini shit , theres even some magicians in the inlay i think lol ... least theres not some fucking horrible shitty alien making you shit your pants , da fuck you are supposed to listen to it after you've been scared of it?? DUHHHHHH loooooooooooolll

Tracklist is quite alright . of course for many psygone is the highlight and its still nice if you are in the right mood to listen to some goa stuff that's not trying to freak you out or something. probably down to earth guy as they say.

will play this soon as see you later. look for it on google , discogs or something you might get it by a good price lol...

bit off topic but concerning cd prices :

well ... fuck isnt it good to dig some shit out and pay like a normal price for a CD? fuck yea.. them prices on discogs sometimes are like as many here know ... overpriced.

understand some people really get attached to a record but then market prices rising up to 60-70 pounds? ok some is acceptable because many copies weren't made but last time i checked goa gate was 60 euros ?? i made the record but i mean 60 euros?? da fuck knows what price is on now but im not gonna bother to check anyways...

another example was the godance recordings one i did but that was my fault , i dont know why i just released it and shut it off .. pissed off or something .. i know that was on discogs for 80euros really high but i know the reason because only very few copies were sold ... maybe 10-20?? im not thinking of re-release again but im sure you can grab a mp3 copy off the internet anyways if thats the case.

as a producer i like to release my own shit in highest quality available , WAV. as a music enthusiast , lover , collector whatever , i got to buy stuff i really like. I own the Bassline Baby CD still lol

If you're a person that likes high quality stuff and not just mp3 shattered glass shit sound then welcome to the club. if not then tough shit . Don't take me wrong i got mp3 aswel but its just like a temporary solution or because i havent got cash , time , dedication to collect more records because a guy needs to make room n shit... believe me i would buy them goa vinyls if i had the room along with a compact vinyl player.

Graham Wood (half of The Infinity Project) brought his TIP buddies together to make a very odd album. It's downtempo and ambient with a goa flair. Graham is featured on every track under various aliases. My favorite was Part 4 by Mystery of the Yeti as it was the most musically interesting and complex.

Some weird sh*t going on here though.

How high did you have to be to make Woodski? Hopscotch? Noises From the Darkness? When those three tracks ended did the stock price of Doritos tumble? The whole middle of this album is lost in a green haze of cannabis smoke. Very trippy. Strange Thing still sounds like I'm caught in a hippies disjointed dream, but at least I can follow it. Mystical Experiences is a great slice of ambient found on the Infinity Project album of the same name. Full of sounds that continue with the floating. Sub Currents churns with juicy bass for almost its entire length. Even the outro aims to conjure and shape your hallucinations.

If you're searching for that album that you can zone out to look no further. Set hallucinogens to maximum wood.

One of the most underrated goa trance albums of all time. Why isn't this consistently put on you're top ten list? Is it because they're Austrian? Hitler was Austrian. Are you saying these guys are like Hitler? Oh...no? Just checking.

Holger Buchholtz and Thorstern Jannert are Gangnia an outstanding goa trance project that would later become X.I.S. Their first album is a lesson in dark, hypnotic goa trance. Their palette of sounds isn't the greatest, but it's a great listen all the way though. Until the bizarre, dubby downtempo track that I could do without. Aside from that each track is a pretty storming affair. But don't think you're gonna hop on the net and get it at Amazon, this thing is ultra rare. 1st issue of Superman rare. I'm not one of those guys that would fork over $100 for an album so it's outta my price range.

But maybe if you've got some extra lottery winnings or Grandma's birthday dough stashed away you could get it off Discogs.

Noisy. Repetitive. Destructive. This isn't an album it's a f*cking toddler. I reviewed The Mad Hatters Acid Tea Party and Future World and came to the conclusion that they were both really sh*tty albums. Add this to those and you have a perfect storm of annoyance. Musically this is just a earache generating disaster. The production is flimsy and you'll find more soothing melodies at a Slayer concert. This isn't music that you play to enjoy. This is music you play to get terrorists to submit. Or the soundtrack to revenge porn against your girlfriend. Hard trance, acid, goa...it all falls under the same headache umbrella. Does this album come with a Salma Hayek and Sofia Vergara handy? Cause it's the only way you'll get me to listen to it again.

Review:

Oh my god this is a crazy compilation of tracks... Matsuri are totally

wicked =).. Sandman rocks as usual, here with a nice tune that's got the

same sound as his first album did. Upcoming tracks are brutal. I specially

like Slug, GMS and Manmademan tracks. This compilation is really intense but

not very fast. The highlight is (like most albums) in the middlewith the

GMS track, that song is absolutely amazing.. it just makes me wanna

dance!!!!!! ) You could actually by this compilation just for that

track alone!!! Last track is ambient stuff. Too bad cause a compilation like

this should have the same kind of tracks all the way I think. Because of this

I give this compilation a 8/10 instead of 9/10.. but it's anexcellent

compilation that you should get your hands on!!!! (btw don't get me wrong,

that last track is good for being ambient! it's just that I don't think it

fits in on this kind of compilation).

1997

METROPOLIS

1. THE DRAIN

2. DOMINATION

3. PROSTITUTE

4. MIRACLE

5. EYE BURNER

6. SLOTH

7. NEURON

8. OTHER WORLD

9. PENANCE

Here is the fourth album by Noise Unit, done in entirely different way than previous one Decoder. While previous one was sort of happy and positive this one is rather darker and with lots of industrial influences. I find this one as good or even slightly better than Decoder cause it is harder and much better produced.

First song THE DRAIN is heavy industrial pumping song with many psychedelic sounds and nice harmonies. it is nice intro to this rather harder album.

DOMINATION is stunning song ! It also has heavy industrial feel but so many trancey effects and melodies that feels very massive and entrancing.

PROSTITUTE is nice breakbeat stuff, with lots of weird noises and demented sounds. It has very funky feel and it is pretty nice. And no, it is not made for sex.

MIRACLE is fantastic guitar industrial madness. It has weird atmosphere and many funny breaks. It starts slow and weird but turns into massive song. It is great track, pretty psychedelic !

EYE BURNER is the second best track here...Melodic, dark, generic, with amazing structure. Its melodic and harmonic structure is so delicate and to the point, sounds great !

SLOTH is very nice track with 303 and some breakbeat rhythm and it goes nice with the flow of the album.

NEURON is the best track here...dark, melodic, frightening, spooky, with great effects and sound design ! Stunning ! Sounds like a climax of some horror film.

OTHER WORLD is pretty nice track, but it sounds like it is 'one of the hits' or other words commerical...it has many melodies but they are done in that kind of poppy mood, still very good track though.

PENANCE is third best here...Bouncey, funky, psychedelic, melodic, and all of that in 6 minutes...very short but so effective, it sounds like they used at least 40 channels...hehe

All in all, VERY good album, nicely produced and with many influences thorugh whole album, variable...9/10

"It's really quite a world that you've shown me!"

This is one of those CDs that falls through the cracks. It's not a stellar compilation at all like Balagan or First Flight full of melodic classics, but rather a lightly mixed outlier that doesn't get the spotlight. There's a reason for this.

It's not as good.

Just that simple. It's more experimental or scrambly goa. There are some good moments, but also some noisy incoherent rambling. The screechy Whipbird remains the best track Kopfuss Resonator ever made. I still like it especially if I'm in the mood for something different. It's cheap to buy on Discogs and like I said it ain't terrible.

Review:

The First CD of Boom! Records, and at that time they

didn't know exactly what they wanted I guess... There are some

very good songs on it, but also some rather boring songs...

The CD starts with the Battle Buddha's, and that song is Awesome,

but we don't expect antyhing else of them, because they're really

great!! Song 2,4&7 are pretty good!! Unfortunately song 3,5&6 are

NOT good!! That Dr Jekyl is even BAD!! Way too boring!!

Luckely this CD ends with two Very good songs (nr 8 is GREAT)!!

I guess I don't have to say those songs are all pretty hard

(like usual on Boom!-Cd's!!) Mostly about 148 bpm, but celtic

even 154 bpm!! Bom Shankar

Mystic Cigarettes is a really peaceful Ambient album. The tracks are very slow,

but remain rich and full of melody.Sometimes is this album more ambient than

goa but the quality of the sounds is better than the slowliness of the

music. The best track is for me International Code Error wich is really

excellent and contains original sounds.Exactly like Delta Aquarids, this CD is

Brian Eno, needs no introduction in the Electronic Music world. A brilliant composer and a computer geek who likes to give you a visual treat of his creations through his visual programs which complement and complete his work or Art.

Review:

Atmospheric Lightness - here as the name suggests Eno creates a wonderful atmosphere full of light with what seems like electronic birds chirping throughout the 32 min long track. Seems like a bright sunny day in Eno world. Very soothing!

Chamber Lightness - now we move on from the outside world of atmospheric lightness into the chamber lightness , birds are long gone. The setting has changed( once can imagine entering the Museum now) but the theme remains the same, nice soothing sounds which will please any ambient listener.

A very nice ambient album. Sells dear. If you are an ambient lover you'll like it. Get it if you find one for cheap.

Skeptical dog is not amused.

I recall a statement made on this forum a long while ago by someone saying that there were no undiscovered gems from the golden age of goa. Because I missed it the first time around, I didn't pay much attention and kept turning over every rock in the hopes of finding that shiny diamond to add to my collection.

This is not a diamond. More of a...rock that was left over from Charlie Brown's Halloween. It lacks complexity that one would find in say an Etnica or BPC, but that's ok because there is a reason those acts are some of the greatest of all time. This has more of a minimal vibe with goa trance elements thrown in. Their debut self-titled album was a chore to get through (think of cleaning the toilets of Taco Bell for eternity), but the one thing I will say is that the production here is much improved. The kick has punch and the bass work is nice and plucky, but the tracks on a whole don't have much staying power. I liked Detroit One with it's fat bass and electro style, but that was really it.

"I got Etnica!"

"Me too!"

"I got Dimension 5! What'd you get Charlie Brown?"

"I got Trans-Lucid's 2nd album."

"Man that sucks...you should throw that sh*t back. And then cut up his family and burn the house down."

And thus began a string of serial killings that everyone saw coming, but did nothing to stop. Cause that b*tch Lucy had it coming.

Funny. I've never actually seen a football shoved up someone's rectum. Horrifying.

this one !My favorites are Track 2 : The System, and Track 4 : New Aura, but

they are all good, maybe except the last one which is not as good as the

others ...

What separates this release from most

others is the level and atmosphere of fun. All tracks are full on with a

happy, optimistic tune and OOOD adds to it with their playfullness. If there

ever was a band in Psytrance who puts a smile on the listeners face through

their psuedo sonic humor, it would be OOOD. The track titles says it all.

Party on with this CD for all seasons.
