Hello everybody! It's been a very long time since I have been around psynews and the psytrance scene. For the last year I have barely kept up with anything going on. Unfortunately it would seem my work life invaded my personal life in well... let's just say bad ways. I will still be around here though I probably won't be anywhere near as active as I used to be.

For those curious, as you can see from my soundcloud, I have been producing a ton of shorter, accessible songs mostly of the downtempo variety with the same unusual production ideas/sounds that keep things interesting for me. I know some of you have enjoyed my Goa Trance in the past and I am so appreciative of that. Unfortunately, my life has taken a nose dive and I am not sure I will ever return to psytrance, but I wanted to let you all know what has been happening with me.

I've always felt that Nostalgia has a very close connection to the meaning of life.

It feels so deep, and it makes you have thoughts you don't otherwise have.

It might be thoughts of grandeur, love, or just something undefinable but special.

It is a feeling that you know for sure when you have. It is not ambiguous, and its right in your face.

My favorite feeling is no doubt nostalgia, because it never disappoints. You can be unhappy, happy,

in love, sad, depressed, anxiety, euphoric, whatever. But you can always feel Nostalgia.

What makes you feel it?

For me it is movies mostly, and music second. Movies from when I was a kid and mostly the same regarding music.

I dont want you to just list random stuff I want you to think deep down what makes you get this feeling.

Enough to make you cry!

For me Its alot of movies since Ive always been alone, to my self, and always turned to movies for support. This is why a particular movie has always been with me!

Its Sidekicks (1992). I cant put a finger on it, but it does make me feel hope, energy, and the will to change my life for the better. It made me feel that way in 1992 and it makes me feel this way in 2013 also.

Since I love movies and music I have many examples but I will leave it at this..

The last two years stress has become unbearable. Financial, personal and health issues have kicked me down. I can't even sleep properly anymore. I don't wanna start using heavy mediaction, so I wonder if you know some way to reduce it.

So my Canton GLE 90 are very loud, I feel the vibration of the music on my clothes and on my body when I listen to them with me Denon amp at 55 percent. The floor is vibrating, t and the speakers can go higher than the amp can, but sometimes I feel the wish of more. I think to feel really a lot of vibrations on the clothes you need speakers with two 30 cm Bassdriverrs, not with two 20 cm Bassdrivers, as my Canton have. Listening to music at high volume isr eally awesome. When everything vibrates, the clothes, and the body. What do you think? I think normal bookshelf monitors are not able to create an atmosphere of a party with vibrations on the clothes.

Situation Update 2024 - and a question for the future!

Hello people and all lifeforms on Psynews,

I thought imma give you an update on what's going on and arbitrarily share my thoughts about my life and about what is up with me on this forum here:

As you might have read somewhat down the line of time, my life recently got a twist - or let me say: a complete turnaround - for the better.

Ten years I have basically been sleeping under a rock and all of a sudden it went boom, somewhat - and as I came back to my senses it felt to me like I suddenly was going pretty far on the overtaking side on life's highway, in a fast car and taking turns in the driver's seat with a Soul that makes me really, really happy to be alive.
Honestly, I only now realize what I have been missing out and I may ensure you from the deepest of my heart that it has nothing at all to do with any substance ingestion ... that never was my thing anyway. It's just good music and a speed of life that makes me tingle!

As good as these news are for me personally, I have to admit it did not have and will not have the best effect on my time here.

I will happily stay admin and do stuff when it pops up and when I have time - but I honestly am not much around anymore.

If it wasn't for other people who cleaned up here besides me, it would be a true mess! A BIG THANKS to everybody in mod and admin team at this point!

The forum has been "kind" to us by decreasing member activity and especially not making my attention so necessary in the past weeks ... but will it stay like that...?

This brings me to a question - or rather a decision ... the way I perceive it, we are on a three way crossing and we can pick where we go from here ... the possibilities:
1.: We don't change anything and let all stay the way it is. You will maybe experience delay in requests and reports, in PMs to me, making a few spam posts disappear slower than they should. In fact I will drop by every few weeks, unregularly, clean up some stuff and tidy up a little and together with mods and admins still here we will keep it running as it currently is.
2.: We develop and evolve, get some new members in the admin and moderator panel and rock the place with good content. I'd love that -- but bear in mind that forums are on the declining side of the Internet. They won't get old that soon, but in the medium to long run we would HAVE to evolve into a Metaverse and I'd happily do that with you all, just not as a key driver because my time is a dwindling resource.
3.: Maybe you don't wanna hear it, but the internet has changed, forums are out of date and the activity counter on here shows it. I'm not going to pull out a diagram, but new posts have been steadily declining over the past years and recently some more active members left the community. Makes me wanna think out loud: Psynews could be hibernated and archived, open to browse but not to further post ... a possibility?

I am just posing thoughts on my own. Everybody is welcome to voice their opinions. I am NOT saying that we stop this. I am just speaking it out as an admin for the first time and as one option of many - and without having asked anybody else. Bear in mind that this openness is also a form of me saying thanks to everybody for putting up with reduced admin time on here.

Let me know your thoughts!
If there's a team behind it, I'll happily stay a member, with or without admin rights as you wish, and let you carry the flame on and on

What stereos do you have? My stereo is a Denon PNA 600 Ne with Canton GLE 90 speakers and a Creative Audigy FX soundcard. The sound is very good and detailled for any music. It is also very alive. The Canton GLE 90 are very loud on the Denon PNA 600 Ne, but unfortunatley the amp starts clipping, before the speakers start distording, so I can not listen in dsico volume. The volume is as high ass party volume with 55 percent of the amp power and it isv ery good. I feel the vibrations on my body and on my clothes a lot, the cupboard and the TV are vibrating a lot, also as the floor, but I would like to hear it on disco volume, which would be 80 to 90 percent of the amp. I would like to know what stereos you have.

fact of the matter is

you bullied a guy who had problems. He had a crosseyed sight, he couldnt hear very well, and he couldnt speak very well..

If you watched some of his videos back in the day he sounded like he was handicapped. And he complained about his hearing and eyesight alot. He obviously wasnt normal.

Now noone has heard of him in years and years. I had him on facebook. He was very depressed, talked alot of deep stuff, that you normally dont get into with someone you barely know.

He didnt have many friends, and he always thought his friends was bullying him. He kept writing topics about this, and people here kept bullying him also.

Yes he made some fucked up comments about his sexual fantasies which turned many people off about him, and I get that.. but I think he just didnt really know better.

He talked about steep mountains all of that and Imba was quick to mock him and make fun of him. And many others, not trying to call out imba. But honestly, man was struggling with life alot, and who knows if he k**** himself by now... Does anyone know whats going on with him now, does anyone care? Anyone heard anything? I havent had that facebook in almost a decade now and I have no idea if he is even alive.. But last time he wrote here was about 8 years ago and knowing how depressed and sad this guy was, no friends, horrible parents, Im not sure if he even is alive...

And those thinking he was a meme or a troll, no, he wasnt. I just hope he is ok to this day, and alive. And if youre reading this please come back. This forum is damn near dead so who cares . Just tell us youre alive and well brother. Thats all.

currently i use foobar2000 cause it has excellent asio support in case i want to listen thru the audio interface with bit-perfect playback and all that jazz.

but if i wanna listen to lets say 6 folders of music, and put it all to repeat, same track can come again and again. which is really annoying. if a track is played, i want that track to be flagged to not play again in that session. to my knowledge Winamp did just that.. i guess i should go back to winamp?

oh, and also in foobar2000, if you hit forward, the next random track plays which is expected, but if you hit Back - it just stops. so clearly its not made to listen to folders of music.

Any tips?
