  1. The Infnity Project - "Mystical Experiences"
  2. Well, I only own the Phosporescent compilation from TIP. It is much beter due to the funky glo in the dark cover. The music is very much in the twisted style ofthe old days, very psychedelic. I think this compilations hows how th evolution of the full on sound we now love occurrred. Gamm Goblins is much better than the remake, Gamma Goblins Pt 2, and all the tracks are excellent. This is a compilation made up of many fast acn crazy tunes to spin out to and to dance like a crazy clown in a mad circus of mirrors. Buy it now and explore you mind!!

    X-Dream - Radio

After wating many a year to get my copy of this album, I must admit I am sorely let down. Yes, this has great prduction and also for ti's time great iodea's, but so much more has been done since then. I think that when compared to Irritant, Radio sounds like most other full onstyle around. I think that this album may have been thebe all and end all of it's era, '98 circa, but vompared to other high standar music since then, it falls short by a long argin. Personally, I think that their first 2 albums and irritant levae radio far behind. Frog alon is the only memorable track for me as it was a great use and display of sampling natural effects.

It gave us a very differnet view of Flying Rhino and many people saw this as the end. It took a while to grow on me, especially the second cd, the trance mix. The first cd is your standard freestyler mix of dub, chill out and some pretty commercial sounding tracks. I like some of it, my favourite's being track 1, 2,7 and 9. This cd is a whirlwind mix starting with some tribal beats, moving quickly into some very chilled sound and leading to Boom Devil, which sounds to me like something the Chemical Brothers whipped up in their spare time. I must say that of all the Boom Devil tracks, the ones on the first Re:Evolution compilation are the best I've heard. Binah is a bit more dubby, with some nice soft vocals, Tripple Game are a kind of jazzy psychadelic trip hop sound and finally Red Seal, with a nice soft dub song, and the vocals are very cool. All in all a nice mix but out of the the four compilations which I own, I'd say the least favourite of mine when it comes to their freestlye sounds, giving this cd 5.5/10. The trance cd is more on the progressive/housey side. It starts out with a nice little number by Atmos, groovery and funky. It then slowly progresses, kind of just flowing, never really going anywhere, but remains vaguely interesting and is easy to dance to. It never quite goes psychadelic, but hints at this with Bus and Planet B.E.N. A nice listen every once in a while, but out all the Re:Evolution's, this one is probably my least favourite. Second cd gets 6.5/10. And for the whole compilation I'll give 6/10.

    Elysium - Monzoon

Elysium - Monzoon Artist: Elysium Title: Monzoon Label: BNE Date: 1996 Track listing: 01. 11'28" Master Of The Rainforest 02. 11'10" Monzoon 03. 09'32" Illusive World 04. 10'53" Elysium 05. 08'55" Subconsciousness 06. 09'07" Interpretation Of Dreams 07. 10'25" Aliens Review: What a shocker of a day I have had, gor caught running a red light $200, locked my keys in the car in a 1 hout park bay and got a $50 fine. Thenn I go to Sanity Music and found this for $18 Aussie!! Well, this track has some songs already released by I have never heard anything much from Elysium, and this is a wicked addition to my old school section. I am going to go through it track by track so if you already own some songs, then skip to ones you don't have hehe. The first track opens with very psychadelic and airy sounds. A nice melody flows with some nice tribal type drums. Acidic effect bounce around. It really does sound like an alien world. Then a more full on melody kicks in, along with a nice beat and some funky cymbals. There is also a nice ethnic type voice. I could imagine this being form some strange alien world, like some of the Star Wars planets. The next song again start with strange ambient sounds, then in comes the congo drums, a wicked beat and funky elector melodies, and again the aliens fly in and out, with their wierd effectsa nad languages. Elysiusm seems to have an a mazing knack for wicke meldoies. Track three, starts of with a liquidy acid effect, and then a a nice calm beat, with chilled out melodies. This is a nice song to relax to, or dance slowly in the darkness of a strange alien forest. The fourth track starts with a funky little ethinig type melody, and again the acid like effect sneak in from behind, with a groovy bass line. The beginning mel,ody stays the whole way through, with other effects coming in. The fifht track is a dancefloor stormer, fast beats, vey much bassed aeround the acid sounds, it brings memories of Doof - Let's Turn On and others from that era. The next track is a lot slower, a lot more ambient in a way, kinda like Astral Projection - Ambience. It has some ehtnic voices and drums. Very bouncy and happy. The last track is another slow, but very uplifitng and happy tack. NOT CHEEZEY at all, just very aliens sounding. I love this cd, I can see it being a favourtie of mine over time. I guess most people have thes track son his other albums, but for thos who don't, this seems to have a lot of his classics, and some others not on his albums. Very fun, very old school alien sounds, and it has made my year I think, a great find for a great price. Thankyou for this Elysium, and I look forward to your next release, though I already have a copy of the demo, I for sure will be buying a copy of the official release. Hopefully I'll be able to scan and send a copy of the cover in. 10/10 for a wicked album from the good old days, when I was 16 going wild and having a great life!

    Absolum - Wild

Boring, would have been good about 3 years ago. Nomad is definitely the best in the 3D visions crew, his album at least has a little emotion in it, tho stil not much at all.
  7. V/A - Singularity 2002 Artist: Various Title: Singularity 2002 Label: Flying Rhino Date: 2002 Track listing: 01. 10'02" Son Kite : Preflation 02. 10'05" Kinetico : Fly 03. 09'22" Bumbling Loons : Sci-Fidelity 04. 07'25" Great Leap Forward : Old Money 05. 10'47" 4D : Submerge 06. 07'47" Charasmatix : Ruty HD 07. 08'10" Killer Hertz : Cosmic Hot Water 08. 07'46" Wizzy Noise : Velocity 09. 07'17" Manmademan : Lockout Review: 1. Son Kite comes out with a very nice progressive track. I find this to be a little bit more soft and sexy, very much within the Flying Rhino style. The anologue sounds flow in an out to a rythmic beat and bassline. 2. Memories of the old acid techno days. This song is a nice slow tribal number, with lots of acid riffs flowing and peaking. It has a simple yet effective piano type melody, but the ladie's vocals are a little annoying, and a bit to housey for me. 3. This track sarts with a nice sample and a soft beat, with ambient sound floating around. As the track flows on, it tends to be a bitmore old school, anologue efetcs, bringing back memories of the first three FLight compilations and the first Re:Evoluton compilation, a very good track. 4. A very psychadelic track, lots of sample and a nice midrange 4/4 beat. This track again is quite old school in style, with a afew modern touches. 5. After a strange intro, this songs bounces along at a quick pace, it is a very much fun song, with weird psychadelic efffects, like voices, before turning into a twisted night time master piece. 6. This song has nice tribal drums, liquids effetcs and a fast beat, probably my least favourite on the compilation, it just doesn't seem to go anywhere and is quite messy. 7. A slightly slower beat, yet turning into a fun filled stomper. Distorted effects flying all around, thisis a lovely track from the acclaimed newcomers, Killa Hertz. 8. My favourite track on the compilation. This track is alittle more like the older Wizzy Noise. Fast bass kick, wicked basslines, evil efects and strange samples. The compilation is worth it for this alone!! 9. A slow groovy track to end it all, nice and smooth, god vibes to end a great compilation. I peronally see this as a big comeback for the Flying Rhino team, a return to what made them in the first place, bring onthe wicked beats from the Horned Flying Ones!! 9.4/10

This album is amazing, Australian does have a reputation for being "weird" but not this. I am not going to go through this track by track, as there are no obvious favourites. If you like the full on sound, then you will love this. It is very professional, but still contains the element of fun and energy that we need today in goa. Mr Peculiar is for sure to be a name to reckon with in this scene of ours. I now believe that the Australian production is by far one of the best in the world. Congratulations to Mr Peculiar and to the Tribe-Adelic team for this amazing product. Also a big cheer to all the other members of the Australian scene for providing all the artists the opportunity to present this material and thank you Mr Peculiar for all the amazing parties I have been to :-) 10/10 !!!

I will just say that if you love the mix on Distance To Goa 8 by Joti Sidhu as much as I do then you will love thi compilation. I won't go track by track. This is a compilation of very dark and twisted night music. I love this compilation, a great find. If you like your music so full on it blows your mind, you will like it. The best tracks for me were: cd 1: 1, 2, 4, 8, 9 and cd 2: 1, 2, 4, 5, 9. The rest are great but those I have mentioned are unbelievable. Enjoy! 15/10!!

It is nic full on psychadelica until the last two tracks which revert to the dodegy weird stuff Aussie Psytrance is famous for, and I personally do not enjoy. The second cd is full of true Aussie weird stuff but there are a few nice full on tracks to make us all enjoy this. Here it is track by track, cd 1: 1. This track starts with a very X-Files type sound, strange and alien, very nice. Then in comes the bubbly bass and some more industrial type effects. The bass is nice and slow it has some tribal typ drumms layered over the top whic are nice. The effects keep popping in and out, tripping your mind up! There is a nice sample of a voicechanting. At about the 4 minute mark a nice 303 acid line kicks in, taking a big change. All in all, a nice track. 2. This track is a bit more minimal, very slow repetive effects to a nice bass beat and bassline...would be nice to here on a hot summer day :-) 3. This track is very old skool, nice melodies and very mornig sounding. Nicely produced, a top track! 4. This track is very much an alternative minmal sound, quite like a Psycraft sound, but with an Aussie twist, vrank up the bass and you'll enjoy thie :-) 5. I am not a huge fan of Sugar, but this changed me, if only he made his album along these lines!! OH well, if you like Space Tribe you'll enjoy this. 6. WOW!! A track that will make you trip so hard without any substabes! Mr Peculiar must have been so off his head when he produced this! Track of the compilation, very twisted full on FX with nice triiba beats and a wicked sample, more like this please! If this is along the lines of the album, I am sure gonna love it! Can't wait for this New Year's Eve for his Live Set! 7. Another Space Tribe type track, nice melodies, great bass lines and bass beats, a masterful trak! 8. Very nice metallic song, like the nite time tracks from Israel, would love to hear this team live :-) 9. Not much to say, very obvious Aussie track, not my cup of tea. 10. Don't like it at all not for me, very retro sounding, I dunno, maybe others will enjoy this :-) cd 2: 1. Dodgey track, not at all what I like. Very breakbeat/drumnbass but with crappy guitar sample. If you like fun and weirdness you may enjoy this :-) 2. Ok track but the voice sample is quite annoying, would be good live at an outdoor festival, very Indian sounding. 3. Shocking song, worst on this compilation by far. Silly samples and bad beats = dodge song. 4. This isn't the best song but more full on, the snare drum is a bit annoying. Lots of retro sounds. 5. Thsi is a great fun track, good listening! 6. This track starts off very psychadelic but becomes extremely minmal, if you like stuff from Goahead 10-11 you'd enjoy this I think. 7. Excellent track again, flowing synths, nice bass and good samples, enoy! 8. Very much like Psycraft/Infected Mushroom, second favourite aretist on this compilation, this groups will rock! 9. A good ethnic/tribal track, nice to chill out to or do a slow dance. 10. An excellent mornig track, chilled out, a bit housey sounding but great fun and grat chilled out music :-) All in all a great album, a breath of fresh air and an excellent display of the future of Aussie PSytrance/Tekno :-) I reccomend to all fans of all sub-genres. 9.5/10. ENJOY!!
  11. It was extremely minal sounding, and I was a big fan of the series early on as it had fresh full on sounds. I enjoyed the Ambient cd, cd2, the most. The first cd was good but uncomparable to alot of the top minimal acts, such as Ticon or M.O.S. Here it is track by track- CD 1 Trance: 1. This starts with a nice sample. It has dark ewffects and is very repetitive, very German sounding, I don;t know where Spacefish is from!! I think that if you like Intatc Instinct or Wizzy Noise you will enjoy this alot. 2. Track two starts with a very nice sweeping synth with slight drums over the top, no bass kick. It is very nice sounding at the star, almost brings tears to my eyes. Then it collapses for me. A hard and ugly bassline kicks in, very much like a dark Wizzy Noise. This track had such potential but is killed after the first 30 seconds. One of the owrst for me. 3. This one is a nice track. It has slight Space Tribe effects throughout, though sparingly. It is faster, repetitive, but I can actually enjoy listening to it from start to end. 4. Once again, Wizzy Noise revisited. Fast and dark, a bit more like M.O.S mixed with Wizzy Noise. The sample is nice, one for the hardcore minimal fans!! 5. Here we go yet again!! A slightly slower track. M.O.S but not so well produced. Repetitive, acidy effects, though in smal doses. Goes nowhere. 6. Another full on M.O.S type track!! German minimal trance. No need to go further!! 7. This one is nicer!!! Faster, very acid techno sounding, with slight industrail effects. I like it alot!! After all the earlier tracks, this is my favoutire on the trance cd!! 8. A crappy track. Bad sounding, dodgey effects. Samples of vonverstions in the background, way to much smoked before making this!! 9. An ok track. Goes nowhere. Nuff Said!! CD 2 Ambient: This is what saves the compilation!! Nice ambient!! here we go: 1. A very nice track. Slow bass kick. Verymellow effects. Kinda like floating through space. electriv Universe did a masterful jobe here. Areal journey inwards. 2. Space Tribe takes on a tribal journey, bongo drums over a lazy break beat rhythm. Trippy effects, spaced out samples!! The usually freaky journey by teh dude from Australia!! 3. This one is very much like a Portishead typ track. I could imagine this on a Flying Rhino Fresstyle cd. It is ok. Not muxh to say, slow darka dnvery chilled. Not my fav track here. 4. Very slow, sweeping sound. Not great, but listenable. The keyboards sound slightly Reggae orintated. A nice one, though not amazing. 5. A nice track, though a bit to much like Woob for me. The drum beats don't do it for me. Least favourite by far!! 6. Lovely track. Very much a commercial sound. Lotsa effects, sume guitar. almost along the lines of an LTJ Bukem Earth type project. 7. A nice track. Sweeping melodies, lazy beats. That about sums it all up!! 8. I like this alot!! Very sleepy, very mellow!! I could imagine this on a nice empty beach, lying back with my girlfriend in the sun, not a care in the world!! A journey to paradise!! 9. Verymuch a darker type ambient, with slight drum n bass beats running with it!! A bad example of Psychaos type drum n bass. It is ok but not amazingly great!! All in all this compilation is not great. The earlier ones, 1-5, are much nicer. The trance is only for the hardcore minmal followers. The ambient is ok, but you'd do yourself a favour by getting the latest Earth compilation by LTJ Bukem, he really knows good chill out that goes along these lines. I'd give this a 4/10. This is just my opinion though. Don't hold it against me . See Y'all in the forum!!
  12. This compilation is a must have for any fans of Psychadelic or Goa Trance. The first CD is very much an early morning mix, by the great Astral Projection. This cds contains many well known tracks, mixed superbly with songs such as "Let There Be light" and "Goaway". Although I am a relatively new comer to these sonds,I found a connection with this cd as it shows the beginning of the Trance scene, and how many groups and artist who are quite popular today made there name. i must say my favourite tracke here is "Butterfly Trip" by SFX, sweeping melodies over a nice bass beat, great morning music. The second cd is based around the midnight time, dark and fast tracks running into each other, samples screaming at you, such as Infected Mushrooms infamous "Psycho". Again many well known artists and groups are featured here, such as Sandman and Infected Mushroom. One thing that really sold me with this was the booklet that came with it. The firs two pages show a timeline of how the Israeli Trance scene was formed over the last ten years. The next 22 pages have colour photos of the emembers of each group and a detailed descriptions of how the song was formed, when it was releasd and why it has been used on a compilation that is trying to promote and describe the Israeli Trance scene. After a few listens, I have come to really enjoy this cd, one of the best mixed compilations out there. A must have for all fans and for all those tempted to delve into this genre` of electronic music. A definite 10/10 for the guys involved here
