Review:

An awesome album. The name fits the group perfectly. Energetic psychedelic

trance with strong emotions with full sound-scapes and good grooves and

original and powerful beats. The sounds are relatively heavy and acid and

there is very little fluff on this album (except for the last half of Te Loco,

which is ambient). The album is full of really good songs, but Overdose (one

of the most energetic tracks I know, despite the 'low' 135bpm tempo and no 4/4

beat) and Get Away are outstanding. The songs have plenty of variation,

sometimes the parts are even too short. It's always hard to describe trance,

but the insanity level of this album is around Hallucinogen, but this is more

straight foreward, but not as clear, if you get what I'm saying... Shouldn't

compare these two really at all.

The only complaints I have are that I would've wished for more songs. For

example, Deep would've fit this album well. (It can be found on the

compilation Dancing To The Sound Of The Sun). Then there are some of the voice

samples used, such as on nobody, which aren't good. 8/10

really wicked!!!! Fucked up sounds floating around in a full on sound scape

drive by groovy beats. the beats are the only problem for me, they should have

paid more attension to them if you ask me because they tend to be boring after

a while. I especially like the strange ambient like noises at the end of the

album really out of this world!! it would be great if they should release a

new album with the use of today technologie!! 8/10

Fuckin' Excellent. Psyko Disko go well off. Mon Ami is a really twisted sort of

groovey song, Te Loco ends up as really mental sort of ambient music, and the

rest is really hard goa, swirling with sounds and intricate layers. My one

complaint is i don't like some of the snare patterns much; i prefer a hit on

2nd and 4th beats, but thats just personal preferance. A damn fine album;

Kondativita has the best ending for any psy track i've heard. GET IT.

Psyko Disko ‎– Psycho Disco - (1996)

I remember hearing this release for the first time, it wasn't was I was looking for.

I was totally into morning stuff so... But I did recognize it's greatness and talent.

Now many years later I took the opportunity to have another listen and I'm quite surprised.

Psyko Disco choice of sounds is goatrance as it's fit but to be so melodic it's not morning trance.

His melodies are continuous and often a bit overloaded so it scratches your brain,

it feels like a controlled chaos in a certain funny way with unique features.

This release has a more psychedelic psycho touch from the result that he uses many

psychedelic elements like voices with effects coming from everywhere, laughing, speaking,

crunchy and creaky waves. Everything comes very short one after another.

There are no long strecthed sounds that last like forever ...

Psyko Disco gives me the feeling that he doesn't take it that seriously what flatters it's release.

He payed a lot off attention to intro's and outro's in his tracks so there some kind of story behind this album.

I didn't expect to enjoy it that much, as I just did... Good work!
