Review:

Very uplifting stuff of Guy Sukrel (half MFG...)!

You still hear the influences of MFG, but it's all more to dance now... Really

perfect Party-songs!!! all songs have some great melodies and that's maybe why

this CD is so addicting... the melodies are pretty "catchy"... Altough it's

dance-stuff it's also pretty psychedelic... So enjoy this one!! Best songs

are:1,3,4,5,7,8,9!!

I found this album completely disappointing.Even if it is the guy of MFG,we

fastly can see that there's something (someone?)missing. There is no melodies

and the sounds are simple, there's no link beetwen them, so we listen to the

CD and rapidly find it boring.

Buy the three albums from MFG before to buy Passenger, because it's not really

the same level of goa trance.5.5/10

Good banging israeli, very densely layerd sounds. Also good to

hear slightly less darkness on this release than previous MFG asociated work,

(not that I dont like a bit of darkness).Best tracks(in my entierly subjective

opinion)- x star, reflection and hit And run.

Not as good as I expected. Doesn't reach the heights of the three MFG albums at

all. There are a few great tunes, though... "Reflection" (NOT "Reflexion", as

the track listing says!), "XStar" and "Sundance" will work great on the dance

floor. BUT...perhaps not through headphones at home. Even though it's melodic

as hell, the energy and joy isn't there. AND...it's a bit more minimalistic

than the old MFG style. My advice is that you buy "New Kind Of World" and

"Project Genesis" by MFG instead...

Very nice sounds and atmospheres from Guy Zukrel. Its diferent than the MFG

style , its not so hard and dark. Here we have more detailed beat(nice hi-hats)

and nice uplifting psycho feelings...

I enjoy this project from Passenger very much. I believe the best tracks are

"TEMPO" , "UPLIFTING" and others...

There's definately something wrong with this, MFG are the best, but this

doesn't come close.Best track : 7

Nice try, next time better (Hope there will be a next time, hate all that

progressive, minimalistic and psychedelic techno kind of stuff)

Here's a review I wrote a while ago, somewhat at odds with what is said here

(but I stand by it): 'For All Mankind' is pretty much what you'd expect from

one half of MFG... the trademark bass, very well structured (but standard)

drumwork, and talented but not astounding work with the melodies. This CD is

essentially MFG Lite, same great taste but half the fat. For this reason I

won't do a track-by-track analysis, as many of these songs share similar

features and differ only in structure and overall impression. 'Sundance' is

one of the nice songs to be found here, with lots of chewy synth burps

churning across a cosmic landscape backed by some pulsating percussion.

Leading the whole arrangement are the touching melodies, and the fine buildups

are simply the icing on the cake. 'Tempo' is a bit of a darker song for this

album, and one of the only ones where intricate drum work takes precedence for

certain parts... it makes for a very driving and groovy trance story.

'Reflection' is also in the cosmic vein, with sparkling high-end melodies and

a near-constant rush of notes in the mid-range. Years ago they may have dubbed

this 'progressive' trance, for that is what it does - pushing the melodic and

structural elements forward with small changes, subtly building sound texture

and emotional impact... when this song gets going it really soars, but you

would never know it if you skipped through the song. 'Uplifting' is just as

the title suggests, with very nice cohesion between the bassline changes and

melodic shifts. So to sum it up, this is one for the MFG lovers. Past singles

by Passenger tend to excite me more (The Race, Electric Opera, etc) but this

is a fine assortment of tunes suitable for any trance fanatic. May grow

tiresome when listening to the full dose, however... but conversely, that

makes this good for a long drive, or for background listening.

AMAZING album ! As it say, it is done by Guy Zukrel, one half of MFG and it shows.

This is really warm, melodic, euphoric, stunningly constructed album with many layers and it is so enjoyable to listen to. I was wondering why he hasn't made more of PASSENGER albums after this one cause I really like this warm style and like that title fits perfectly.

Favourites : REBORN, SUNDANCE ( ! ), TEMPO, MANKIND ( ! ), REFLECTION ( ! ), OPTIMIST, UPLIFTING....9/10

Half. Meaning not whole or something is missing.

Chocolate milk. If you remove the chocolate it becomes less of a tasty treat and becomes just a bland beverage that you drink because it's good for you. I hate milk. Don't tell me what to drink, you're not the boss of me.

Dinner and a movie. I love a good meal, but if you don't make it to a dark theater how are you gonna try and get to second base? They frown on that behavior at restaurants. Unless you're at an Olive Garden. Mid week.

Speaking of boobs that's why God made each woman with two of them. To be honest it probably wouldn't make a difference to the penis, but yeah two is better.

The only time half works out is when you're dealing with chocolate and peanut butter. That's win win. Passenger is Guy Zurkel which most of you will recognize as half of the legendary goa trance project MFG. Half. Something is clearly missing from most of these tracks and I think we all know what it is.

Well obviously it's the other guy doofus. But so what? The tracks might be different that what you'd find on an MFG album, but then again maybe not. Sounds that you've heard from previous MFG albums show up and that might put some people off. Perhaps they are less goa centric and lean towards the more psychedelic. And he obviously discovered his unimaginative full on touch with a couple of tracks.

Ok now that the obvious is out of the way this is still a very good album and showcases Guy's vision. I didn't find it minimal in the slightest. Quite the contrary the depth and detail were impressive. The tracks became more involving the longer they went on. Someone commented that there were no melodies. Don't know what the hell that individual was listening to but I recommend a do over. This is quality psychedelic goa trance and I for one don't believe his partners absence is a detriment. I mean did you listen to Mankind?
